¹When they drew near to Jerusalem, to Bethsphage TR & NU read “Bethphage” instead of “Bethsphage” and Bethany, at the Mount of Olives, he sent two of his disciples,

¹ وقتی به بیت‌فاجی و بیت‌عنیا در كوه زیتون كه نزدیک اورشلیم است رسیدند، عیسی دو نفر از شاگردان خود را فرستاد

²and said to them, “Go your way into the village that is opposite you. Immediately as you enter into it, you will find a young donkey tied, on which no one has sat. Untie him, and bring him.

² و به آنها چنین دستور داد: «به دهكدهٔ روبه‌رو بروید. همین‌که وارد آن شدید كرّه الاغی را در آنجا بسته خواهید دید، كه هنوز كسی بر آن سوار نشده است، آن را باز كنید و به اینجا بیاورید.

³ If anyone asks you, ‘Why are you doing this?’ say, ‘The Lord needs him;’ and immediately he will send him back here.”

³ اگر كسی پرسید: چرا آن را باز می‌کنید؟ بگویید: خداوند آن را لازم دارد. و او بدون تأخیر، آن را به اینجا خواهد فرستاد.»

⁴They went away, and found a young donkey tied at the door outside in the open street, and they untied him.

⁴ آن دو نفر رفتند و در کوچه‌ای كرّه الاغی را دیدند كه جلوی دری بسته شده بود، آن را باز كردند.

⁵Some of those who stood there asked them, “What are you doing, untying the young donkey?”

⁵ بعضی از کسانی‌که در آنجا ایستاده بودند، به آنها گفتند: «چرا این كرّه الاغ را باز می‌کنید؟»

⁶They said to them just as Jesus had said, and they let them go.

⁶ آنها همان‌طور كه عیسی به ایشان فرموده بود، جواب دادند و كسی مانع ایشان نشد.

⁷They brought the young donkey to Jesus, and threw their garments on it, and Jesus sat on it.

⁷ كرّه الاغ را پیش عیسی آوردند و لباسهای خود را روی آن انداختند و او سوار شد.

⁸Many spread their garments on the way, and others were cutting down branches from the trees, and spreading them on the road.

⁸ عدّهٔ زیادی از مردم، لباسهای خود را جلوی راه عیسی انداختند و عدّه‌ای هم از مزارع اطراف، شاخ و برگ درختان را بریده جلوی راه او می‌گسترانیدند.

⁹Those who went in front, and those who followed, cried out, “Hosanna “Hosanna” means “save us” or “help us, we pray.” ! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! Psalm 118:25-26

⁹ کسانی‌که از جلو و عقب به دنبال او می‌آمدند، با فریاد می‌گفتند: «خدا را سپاس باد! مبارک باد آن کسی‌که به نام خداوند می‌آید.

¹⁰Blessed is the kingdom of our father David that is coming in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest!”

¹⁰ فرخنده باد پادشاهی پدر ما داوود كه در حال آمدن است، خدا را سپاس باد.»

¹¹Jesus entered into the temple in Jerusalem. When he had looked around at everything, it being now evening, he went out to Bethany with the twelve.

¹¹ عیسی وارد اورشلیم شد و به معبد بزرگ رفت. در آنجا همه‌چیز را از نظر گذرانید. امّا چون دیر وقت بود با آن دوازده حواری به بیت‌عنیا رفت.

¹²The next day, when they had come out from Bethany, he was hungry.

¹² روز بعد وقتی آنها از بیت‌عنیا بیرون آمدند، در بین راه عیسی گرسنه شد.

¹³Seeing a fig tree afar off having leaves, he came to see if perhaps he might find anything on it. When he came to it, he found nothing but leaves, for it was not the season for figs.

¹³ از دور درخت انجیر پُربرگی دید و رفت تا ببیند آیا می‌تواند چیزی در آن پیدا كند. وقتی به آن رسید جز برگ چیزی ندید، چون هنوز فصل انجیر نبود.

¹⁴Jesus told it, “May no one ever eat fruit from you again!” and his disciples heard it.

¹⁴ پس به درخت فرمود: «دیگر كسی از میوهٔ تو نخواهد خورد.» و شاگردانش این را شنیدند.

¹⁵They came to Jerusalem, and Jesus entered into the temple, and began to throw out those who sold and those who bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the money changers, and the seats of those who sold the doves.

¹⁵ آنها به اورشلیم آمدند و عیسی وارد معبد بزرگ شد و به بیرون راندن بازرگانان معبد بزرگ و مشتریان آنها پرداخت. میزهای صرّافان و چهار پایه‌های كبوتر فروشان را به هم ریخت

¹⁶He would not allow anyone to carry a container through the temple.

¹⁶ و به كسی اجازه نمی‌داد كه برای حمل اجناس، از صحن معبد بزرگ عبور كند.

¹⁷He taught, saying to them, “Isn’t it written, ‘My house will be called a house of prayer for all the nations?’ Isaiah 56:7 But you have made it a den of robbers!” Jeremiah 7:11

¹⁷ او به مردم تعلیم می‌داد و می‌گفت: «آیا كتاب خدا نمی‌فرماید: خانهٔ من نمازخانه‌ای برای همهٔ ملّتها خواهد بود؟ امّا شما آن را كمینگاه دزدان ساخته‌اید.»

¹⁸The chief priests and the scribes heard it, and sought how they might destroy him. For they feared him, because all the multitude was astonished at his teaching.

¹⁸ سران كاهنان و علما كه این را شنیدند، در صدد برآمدند راهی برای از بین بردن او پیدا كنند. آنها از او می‌ترسیدند، چون همهٔ مردم از تعالیم او حیران بودند.

¹⁹When evening came, he went out of the city.

¹⁹ در غروب آن روز عیسی و شاگردان از شهر بیرون رفتند.

²⁰As they passed by in the morning, they saw the fig tree withered away from the roots.

²⁰ صبح روز بعد در ضمن راه آنها دیدند كه آن درخت انجیر از ریشه خشک شده است.

²¹Peter, remembering, said to him, “Rabbi, look! The fig tree which you cursed has withered away.”

²¹ پطرس موضوع را به‌یاد آورد و گفت: «ای استاد، نگاه كن، درخت انجیری را كه نفرین كردی خشک شده است.»

²²Jesus answered them, “Have faith in God.

²² عیسی در جواب آنها گفت: «به خدا ایمان داشته باشید

²³ For most certainly I tell you, whoever may tell this mountain, ‘Be taken up and cast into the sea,’ and doesn’t doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says is happening; he shall have whatever he says.

²³ و یقین بدانید اگر كسی به این كوه بگوید: حركت كن و به دریا پرتاب شو و شک و شبهه‌ای به دل راه ندهد بلكه ایمان داشته باشد كه هرچه بگوید می‌شود، برای او چنان خواهد شد.

²⁴ Therefore I tell you, all things whatever you pray and ask for, believe that you have received them, and you shall have them.

²⁴ بنابراین به شما می‌گویم: یقین بدانید، آنچه را كه در دعا طلب می‌کنید، خواهید یافت و به شما داده خواهد شد.

²⁵ Whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone; so that your Father, who is in heaven, may also forgive you your transgressions.

²⁵ وقتی برای دعا می‌ایستید اگر از كسی شكایتی دارید، او را ببخشید تا پدر آسمانی شما هم خطاهای شما را ببخشد. [

²⁶ But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father in heaven forgive your transgressions.”

²⁶ امّا اگر شما دیگران را نبخشید، پدر آسمانی شما هم خطاهای شما را نخواهد بخشید.]»

²⁷They came again to Jerusalem, and as he was walking in the temple, the chief priests, and the scribes, and the elders came to him,

²⁷ آنها بار دیگر به اورشلیم آمدند. وقتی عیسی در معبد بزرگ قدم می‌زد، سران كاهنان و علما و مشایخ پیش او آمدند

²⁸and they began saying to him, “By what authority do you do these things? Or who gave you this authority to do these things?”

²⁸ و از او پرسیدند: «به چه اختیاری این كارها را می‌کنی؟ چه کسی به تو اختیار انجام چنین كارهایی را داده است؟»

²⁹Jesus said to them, “I will ask you one question. Answer me, and I will tell you by what authority I do these things.

²⁹ عیسی به ایشان فرمود: «من هم از شما سؤالی دارم اگر جواب دادید، به شما خواهم گفت كه به چه اختیاری این كارها را می‌کنم.

³⁰ The baptism of John—was it from heaven, or from men? Answer me.”

³⁰ آیا تعمید یحیی از جانب خدا بود، یا از جانب بشر؟ به من جواب بدهید.»

³¹They reasoned with themselves, saying, “If we should say, ‘From heaven;’ he will say, ‘Why then did you not believe him?’

³¹ آنها بین خود بحث كرده گفتند: «اگر بگوییم از جانب خدا بود، او خواهد گفت، 'پس چرا به او ایمان نیاوردید؟'

³²If we should say, ‘From men’”—they feared the people, for all held John to really be a prophet.

³² امّا اگر بگوییم از جانب بشر بود...» (آنها از مردم می‌ترسیدند، چون همه یحیی را نبی می‌دانستند.) از این رو در جواب عیسی گفتند: «ما نمی‌دانیم.» عیسی به ایشان گفت: «پس من هم نمی‌گویم به چه اختیاری این كارها را می‌کنم.»

³³They answered Jesus, “We don’t know.” Jesus said to them, “Neither do I tell you by what authority I do these things.”

³³ از این رو در جواب عیسی گفتند: «ما نمی‌دانیم.» عیسی به ایشان گفت: «پس من هم نمی‌گویم به چه اختیاری این كارها را می‌کنم.»
