¹When he entered again into Capernaum after some days, it was heard that he was in the house.

¹ بعد از چند روز عیسی به كفرناحوم برگشت و به همه خبر رسید كه او در منزل است.

²Immediately many were gathered together, so that there was no more room, not even around the door; and he spoke the word to them.

² عدّهٔ زیادی در آنجا جمع شدند، به طوری که حتّی در جلوی در خانه هم جایی نبود و عیسی پیام خود را برای مردم بیان می‌کرد.

³Four people came, carrying a paralytic to him.

³ عدّه‌ای مرد مفلوجی را كه به وسیلهٔ چهار نفر حمل می‌شد، نزد او آوردند.

⁴When they could not come near to him for the crowd, they removed the roof where he was. When they had broken it up, they let down the mat that the paralytic was lying on.

⁴ امّا به علّت زیادی جمعیّت، نتوانستند او را پیش عیسی بیاورند. پس سقف اتاقی را كه عیسی در آنجا بود، برداشتند و وقتی آنجا را باز كردند مرد مفلوج را درحالی‌که روی تشک خود خوابیده بود، پایین گذاشتند.

⁵Jesus, seeing their faith, said to the paralytic, “Son, your sins are forgiven you.”

⁵ عیسی وقتی ایمان ایشان را دید، به مرد مفلوج گفت: «ای فرزند، گناهان تو آمرزیده شد.»

⁶But there were some of the scribes sitting there, and reasoning in their hearts,

⁶ چند نفر از علمای یهود كه آنجا نشسته بودند، پیش خود فكر كردند:

⁷“Why does this man speak blasphemies like that? Who can forgive sins but God alone?”

⁷ «چرا این شخص چنین می‌گوید؟ این كفر است. چه کسی جز خدا می‌تواند گناهان را بیامرزد؟»

⁸Immediately Jesus, perceiving in his spirit that they so reasoned within themselves, said to them, “Why do you reason these things in your hearts?

⁸ عیسی فوراً فهمید آنها چه افكاری در دل خود دارند. پس به آنها فرمود: «چرا چنین افكاری را در دل خود راه می‌دهید؟

⁹ Which is easier, to tell the paralytic, ‘Your sins are forgiven;’ or to say, ‘Arise, and take up your bed, and walk?’

⁹ آیا به این مفلوج گفتن 'گناهانت آمرزیده شد' آسانتر است یا گفتن 'برخیز تشک خود را بردار و راه برو'؟

¹⁰ But that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins” —he said to the paralytic—

¹⁰ امّا تا شما بدانید که پسر انسان در روی زمین حق آمرزیدن گناهان را دارد.» به آن مفلوج فرمود:

¹¹ “I tell you, arise, take up your mat, and go to your house.”

¹¹ «به تو می‌گویم برخیز، تشک خود را بردار و به خانه برو.»

¹²He arose, and immediately took up the mat, and went out in front of them all; so that they were all amazed, and glorified God, saying, “We never saw anything like this!”

¹² او برخاست و فوراً تشک خود را برداشت و در برابر چشم همه خارج شد. همه بسیار تعجّب كردند و خدا را حمدكنان می‌گفتند: «ما تا به حال چنین چیزی ندیده‌ایم.»

¹³He went out again by the seaside. All the multitude came to him, and he taught them.

¹³ بار دیگر عیسی به كنار دریا رفت، مردم پیش او آمدند و او به تعلیم آنان پرداخت.

¹⁴As he passed by, he saw Levi, the son of Alphaeus, sitting at the tax office, and he said to him, “Follow me.” And he arose and followed him.

¹⁴ همچنان‌که می‌رفت لاوی پسر حَلفی را دید، كه در محل وصول عوارض نشسته بود. عیسی به او گفت: «به دنبال من بیا.» لاوی برخاست و به دنبال او رفت.

¹⁵It happened, that he was reclining at the table in his house, and many tax collectors and sinners sat down with Jesus and his disciples, for there were many, and they followed him.

¹⁵ وقتی عیسی در خانهٔ لاوی سر سفره نشسته بود، عدّهٔ زیادی از باجگیران و خطاكاران با او و شاگردانش نشسته بودند، چون بسیاری از آنها پیرو او بودند.

¹⁶The scribes and the Pharisees, when they saw that he was eating with the sinners and tax collectors, said to his disciples, “Why is it that he eats and drinks with tax collectors and sinners?”

¹⁶ وقتی عدّه‌ای از علمای فریسی او را دیدند، كه با باجگیران و خطاكاران غذا می‌خورد، به شاگردانش گفتند: «چرا با باجگیران و خطاكاران غذا می‌خورد؟»

¹⁷When Jesus heard it, he said to them, “Those who are healthy have no need for a physician, but those who are sick. I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.”

¹⁷ عیسی این را شنید و به آنها فرمود: «بیماران احتیاج به طبیب دارند، نه تندرستان. من آمده‌ام تا خطاكاران را دعوت نمایم، نه پرهیزكاران را.»

¹⁸John’s disciples and the Pharisees were fasting, and they came and asked him, “Why do John’s disciples and the disciples of the Pharisees fast, but your disciples don’t fast?”

¹⁸ هنگامی‌که شاگردان یحیی و فریسیان روزه‌دار بودند، عدّه‌ای پیش عیسی آمدند و پرسیدند: «چرا شاگردان یحیی و فریسیان روزه می‌گیرند، امّا شاگردان تو روزه نمی‌گیرند؟»

¹⁹Jesus said to them, “Can the groomsmen fast while the bridegroom is with them? As long as they have the bridegroom with them, they can’t fast.

¹⁹ عیسی به آنها فرمود: «آیا می‌توان انتظار داشت دوستان داماد تا زمانی‌که داماد با آنهاست روزه بگیرند؟ نه، تا زمانی‌كه داماد با آنهاست آنها روزه نمی‌گیرند.

²⁰ But the days will come when the bridegroom will be taken away from them, and then will they fast in that day.

²⁰ امّا زمانی خواهد آمد كه داماد از ایشان گرفته می‌شود، در آن وقت روزه خواهند گرفت.

²¹ No one sews a piece of unshrunk cloth on an old garment, or else the patch shrinks and the new tears away from the old, and a worse hole is made.

²¹ هیچ‌کس لباس كهنه را با پارچهٔ نو وصله نمی‌کند. اگر چنین كند آن وصله از لباس جدا می‌گردد و پارگی بدتری بجا می‌گذارد.

²² No one puts new wine into old wineskins, or else the new wine will burst the skins, and the wine pours out, and the skins will be destroyed; but they put new wine into fresh wineskins.”

²² همچنین هیچ‌کس شراب تازه را در مشکهای كهنه نمی‌ریزد. اگر چنین كند شراب، مشک را می‌تركاند و مشک و شراب هر دو از بین می‌روند. شراب تازه را در مشکهای نو باید ریخت.»

²³It happened that he was going on the Sabbath day through the grain fields, and his disciples began, as they went, to pluck the ears of grain.

²³ در یک روز سبت، عیسی از میان مزارع گندم می‌گذشت و شاگردانش درحالی‌که راه می‌رفتند شروع به چیدن خوشه‌های گندم كردند.

²⁴The Pharisees said to him, “Behold, why do they do that which is not lawful on the Sabbath day?”

²⁴ فریسیان به او گفتند: «نگاه كن، چرا شاگردان تو كاری می‌کنند كه در روز سبت جایز نیست؟»

²⁵He said to them, “Did you never read what David did, when he had need, and was hungry—he, and those who were with him?

²⁵ عیسی فرمود: «مگر نخوانده‌اید كه داوود وقتی خود و یارانش گرسنه و محتاج بودند چه كرد؟

²⁶ How he entered into God’s house when Abiathar was high priest, and ate the show bread, which is not lawful to eat except for the priests, and gave also to those who were with him?”

²⁶ در زمانی كه ابیاتار كاهن اعظم بود، به خانهٔ خدا وارد شد و نان تقدیس شده را كه جز كاهنان، كسی حق خوردن آنها را نداشت، خورد و به همراهان خود نیز داد.»

²⁷He said to them, “The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath.

²⁷ و به آنها فرمود: «سبت برای انسان به وجود آمد، نه انسان برای سبت. بنابراین پسر انسان صاحب اختیار روز سبت هم هست.»

²⁸ Therefore the Son of Man is lord even of the Sabbath.”

²⁸ بنابراین پسر انسان صاحب اختیار روز سبت هم هست.»
