¹ “Then the Kingdom of Heaven will be like ten virgins, who took their lamps, and went out to meet the bridegroom.

¹ «در آن روز پادشاهی آسمان مثل ده دختر جوان خواهد بود كه چراغهای خود را برداشته به استقبال داماد رفتند.

² Five of them were foolish, and five were wise.

² پنج نفر از آنان دانا و پنج نفر نادان بودند.

³ Those who were foolish, when they took their lamps, took no oil with them,

³ دختران نادان چراغهای خود را با خود برداشتند ولی با خود هیچ روغن نبردند،

⁴ but the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.

⁴ امّا دختران دانا چراغهای خود را با ظرفهای پر از روغن بردند.

⁵ Now while the bridegroom delayed, they all slumbered and slept.

⁵ چون داماد در آمدن تأخیر كرد، همگی خوابشان برد.

⁶ But at midnight there was a cry, ‘Behold! The bridegroom is coming! Come out to meet him!’

⁶ «در نیمهٔ شب فریاد کسی شنیده شد كه می‌گفت: 'داماد می‌آید، به پیشواز او بیایید'

⁷ Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps. The end of the wick of an oil lamp needs to be cut off periodically to avoid having it become clogged with carbon deposits. The wick height is also adjusted so that the flame burns evenly and gives good light without producing a lot of smoke.

⁷ وقتی دختران این را شنیدند، همه برخاسته چراغهایشان را حاضر كردند.

⁸ The foolish said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.’

⁸ دختران نادان به دختران دانا گفتند: 'چراغهای ما در حال خاموش شدن است، مقداری از روغن خودتان را به ما بدهید.'

⁹ But the wise answered, saying, ‘What if there isn’t enough for us and you? You go rather to those who sell, and buy for yourselves.’

⁹ آنها گفتند: 'خیر، برای همهٔ ما کافی نیست، بهتر است شما پیش فروشندگان بروید و مقداری روغن برای خودتان بخرید.'

¹⁰ While they went away to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the marriage feast, and the door was shut.

¹⁰ وقتی آنها رفتند روغن بخرند، داماد وارد شد. کسانی‌که آماده بودند با او به مجلس عروسی وارد شدند و در بسته شد.

¹¹ Afterward the other virgins also came, saying, ‘Lord, Lord, open to us.’

¹¹ بعد كه آن پنج دختر دیگر برگشتند، فریاد زدند: '‌ای آقا، ای آقا در را به روی ما باز كن'

¹² But he answered, ‘Most certainly I tell you, I don’t know you.’

¹² امّا او جواب داد: '‌به شما می‌گویم كه اصلاً شما را نمی‌شناسم.'

¹³ Watch therefore, for you don’t know the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming.

¹³ پس بیدار باشید زیرا شما از روز و ساعت این واقعه خبر ندارید.

¹⁴ “For it is like a man, going into another country, who called his own servants, and entrusted his goods to them.

¹⁴ «پادشاهی آسمان مانند مردی است كه می‌‌خواست سفر كند. پس غلامان خود را خوانده، تمام ثروتش را به آنان سپرد

¹⁵ To one he gave five talents, to another two, to another one; to each according to his own ability. Then he went on his journey.

¹⁵ و به هر یک به نسبت توانایی‌اش چیزی داد به یکی پنج هزار سکّهٔ طلا، به دیگری دو هزار سکّهٔ طلا، و به سومی هزار سکّهٔ طلا و پس از آن به سفر رفت.

¹⁶ Immediately he who received the five talents went and traded with them, and made another five talents.

¹⁶ مردی كه پنج هزار سکّهٔ طلا داشت زود رفت و با آنها تجارت كرد و پنج هزار سکّهٔ طلا سود برد.

¹⁷ In the same way, he also who got the two gained another two.

¹⁷ همچنین آن مردی كه دو هزار سکّهٔ طلا داشت دو هزار سکّهٔ دیگر سود آورد.

¹⁸ But he who received the one went away and dug in the earth, and hid his lord’s money.

¹⁸ امّا آن مردی كه هزار سکّهٔ طلا به او داده شده بود رفت و زمین را كَند و پول ارباب خود را پنهان كرد.

¹⁹ “Now after a long time the lord of those servants came, and reconciled accounts with them.

¹⁹ «بعد از مدّت زیادی ارباب برگشت و با آنها به تصفیه حساب پرداخت.

²⁰ He who received the five talents came and brought another five talents, saying, ‘Lord, you delivered to me five talents. Behold, I have gained another five talents besides them.’

²⁰ کسی‌که پنج هزار سکّهٔ طلا به او داده شده بود آمد و پنج هزار سکّه‌ای را هم كه سود برده بود با خود آورد و گفت: 'تو این پنج هزار سکّه را به من سپرده بودی، این پنج هزار سکّهٔ دیگر هم سود آن است.'

²¹ “His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a few things, I will set you over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.’

²¹ ارباب گفت: 'آفرین، ای غلام خوب و امین، تو در امر كوچكی امانت و درستی خود را نشان دادی، من حالا كارهای بزرگ را به تو خواهم سپرد. بیا و در شادی ارباب خود شریک باش.'

²² “He also who got the two talents came and said, ‘Lord, you delivered to me two talents. Behold, I have gained another two talents besides them.’

²² آنگاه مردی كه دو هزار سکّهٔ طلا داشت آمد و گفت: 'تو دو هزار سکّهٔ به من سپردی، این دو هزار سکّهٔ دیگر هم سود آن است.'

²³ “His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a few things, I will set you over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.’

²³ ارباب گفت: 'آفرین، ای غلام خوب و امین تو در كار كوچكی امانت و درستی خود را نشان دادی و حالا كارهای بزرگ را به تو خواهم سپرد. بیا و در شادی ارباب خود شریک باش.'

²⁴ “He also who had received the one talent came and said, ‘Lord, I knew you that you are a hard man, reaping where you did not sow, and gathering where you did not scatter.

²⁴ سپس مردی كه هزار سکّه به او داده شده بود آمد و گفت: 'ای ارباب، من می‌دانستم كه تو مرد سختگیری هستی، از جایی‌که نکاشته‌ای درو می‌کنی و از جایی‌که نپاشیده‌ای جمع می‌نمایی،

²⁵ I was afraid, and went away and hid your talent in the earth. Behold, you have what is yours.’

²⁵ پس ترسیدم و رفتم سکّه‌های تو را در زمین پنهان كردم. بفرما، پول تو اینجاست.'

²⁶ “But his lord answered him, ‘You wicked and slothful servant. You knew that I reap where I didn’t sow, and gather where I didn’t scatter.

²⁶ ارباب گفت: 'ای غلام بدسرشت و تنبل، تو كه می‌دانستی من از جایی‌كه نکاشته‌ام درو می‌کنم و از جایی‌که نپاشیده‌ام جمع می‌کنم،

²⁷ You ought therefore to have deposited my money with the bankers, and at my coming I should have received back my own with interest.

²⁷ پس به همین دلیل می‌باید پول مرا به صرّافان می‌دادی تا وقتی من از سفر بر می‌گردم آن را با سودش پس بگیرم.

²⁸ Take away therefore the talent from him, and give it to him who has the ten talents.

²⁸ سکّه‌ها را از او بگیرید و به آن‌کسی كه ده هزار سکّه دارد بدهید،

²⁹ For to everyone who has will be given, and he will have abundance, but from him who doesn’t have, even that which he has will be taken away.

²⁹ زیرا آن‌کس كه دارد به او بیشتر داده خواهد شد تا به فراوانی داشته باشد و آن‌کس كه ندارد، حتّی آنچه را هم كه دارد از دست خواهد داد.

³⁰ Throw out the unprofitable servant into the outer darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’

³⁰ این غلام بی‌فایده را به تاریكی بیندازید جایی‌که گریه و دندان بر دندان ساییدن وجود دارد.'

³¹ “But when the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then he will sit on the throne of his glory.

³¹ «وقتی پسر انسان با جلال خود همراه با همهٔ فرشتگان می‌آید، بر تخت پادشاهی خود خواهد نشست

³² Before him all the nations will be gathered, and he will separate them one from another, as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats.

³² و تمام ملل روی زمین در حضور او جمع می‌شوند. آنگاه او مانند شبانی كه گوسفندان را از بُزها جدا می‌کند، آدمیان را به دو گروه تقسیم خواهد كرد.

³³ He will set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.

³³ گوسفندان را در دست راست و بُزها را در دست چپ خود قرار خواهد داد.

³⁴ Then the King will tell those on his right hand, ‘Come, blessed of my Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world;

³⁴ آنگاه پادشاه به آنانی كه در سمت راست او هستند خواهد گفت: 'ای کسانی‌که از جانب پدر من بركت یافته‌اید! بیایید و وارث سلطنتی شوید كه از ابتدای آفرینش عالم برای شما آماده شده است.

³⁵ for I was hungry, and you gave me food to eat. I was thirsty, and you gave me drink. I was a stranger, and you took me in.

³⁵ چون وقتی گرسنه بودم به من خوراک دادید، وقتی تشنه بودم به من آب دادید، هنگامی‌که غریب بودم مرا به خانهٔ خود بردید،

³⁶ I was naked, and you clothed me. I was sick, and you visited me. I was in prison, and you came to me.’

³⁶ وقتی عریان بودم مرا پوشانیدید، وقتی بیمار بودم به عیادت من آمدید و وقتی‌که در زندان بودم از من دیدن كردید'

³⁷ “Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry, and feed you; or thirsty, and give you a drink?

³⁷ آنگاه نیكان پاسخ خواهند داد: 'ای خداوند چه وقت تو را گرسنه دیدیم كه به تو خوراک داده باشیم و یا چه موقع تو را تشنه دیدیم كه به تو آب داده باشیم؟

³⁸ When did we see you as a stranger, and take you in; or naked, and clothe you?

³⁸ چه زمان غریب بودی كه تو را به خانه بردیم یا برهنه بودی كه تو را پوشاندیم؟

³⁹ When did we see you sick, or in prison, and come to you?’

³⁹ چه وقت تو را بیمار یا زندانی دیدیم كه به دیدنت آمدیم؟'

⁴⁰ “The King will answer them, ‘Most certainly I tell you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers The word for “brothers” here may be also correctly translated “brothers and sisters” or “siblings.” , you did it to me.’

⁴⁰ پادشاه در جواب خواهد گفت: 'بدانید آنچه به یکی از كوچكترین پیروان من كردید، به من كردید.'

⁴¹ Then he will say also to those on the left hand, ‘Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire which is prepared for the devil and his angels;

⁴¹ «آنگاه به آنانی كه در سمت چپ او هستند خواهد گفت: 'ای ملعونان، از من دور شوید و به آتش ابدی كه برای ابلیس و فرشتگان او آماده شده است بروید،

⁴² for I was hungry, and you didn’t give me food to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave me no drink;

⁴² زیرا وقتی گرسنه بودم به من خوراک ندادید، وقتی تشنه بودم به من آب ندادید،

⁴³ I was a stranger, and you didn’t take me in; naked, and you didn’t clothe me; sick, and in prison, and you didn’t visit me.’

⁴³ وقتی غریب بودم مرا نپذیرفتید، وقتی برهنه بودم مرا نپوشانیدید و وقتی بیمار و زندانی بودم به دیدن من نیامدید.'

⁴⁴ “Then they will also answer, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry, or thirsty, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and didn’t help you?’

⁴⁴ آنان نیز جواب خواهند داد: 'چه موقع تو را گرسنه یا تشنه یا غریب یا عریان یا بیمار یا زندانی دیدیم و كاری برایت نكردیم؟'

⁴⁵ “Then he will answer them, saying, ‘Most certainly I tell you, inasmuch as you didn’t do it to one of the least of these, you didn’t do it to me.’

⁴⁵ او جواب خواهد داد: 'بدانید آنچه به یکی از این كوچكان نكردید به من نكردید' و آنان به كیفر ابدی خواهند رسید، ولی نیكان به حیات جاودانی وارد خواهند شد.»

⁴⁶ These will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”

⁴⁶ و آنان به كیفر ابدی خواهند رسید، ولی نیكان به حیات جاودانی وارد خواهند شد.»
