¹These are the journeys of the children of Israel, when they went forth out of the land of Egypt by their armies under the hand of Moses and Aaron.

¹ این است مراحل سفر بنی‌اسرائیل از روزی که به رهبری موسی و هارون از سرزمین مصر خارج شدند.

²Moses wrote their goings out according to their journeys by the commandment of Yahweh: and these are their journeys according to their goings out.

² موسی طبق فرمان خداوند چگونگی و مراحل سفر آنها را نوشت.

³They traveled from Rameses in the first month, on the fifteenth day of the first month; on the next day after the Passover the children of Israel went out with a high hand in the sight of all the Egyptians,

³ آنها در روز پانزدهم ماه اول، یعنی یک روز بعد از فصح از شهر رعمسیس در مصر با سرفرازی خارج شدند،

⁴while the Egyptians were burying all their firstborn, whom Yahweh had struck among them: on their gods also Yahweh executed judgments.

⁴ درحالی‌که مصریان پسران ارشد خود را، که شب قبل خداوند کشته بود، دفن می‌کردند. به این ترتیب خداوند نشان داد که از خدایان مصر نیرومندتر است.

⁵The children of Israel traveled from Rameses, and encamped in Succoth.

⁵ پس مردم اسرائیل از رعمسیس حرکت کردند و به سُكوّت آمدند و در آنجا اردو زدند.

⁶They traveled from Succoth, and encamped in Etham, which is in the edge of the wilderness.

⁶ بعد به ایتام که در کنار بیابان است رفتند.

⁷They traveled from Etham, and turned back to Pihahiroth, which is before Baal Zephon: and they encamped before Migdol.

⁷ از آنجا کوچ کرده، رهسپار فم الحیروت شدند که در شرق بعل صفون واقع بود و در دامنهٔ کوه مجدل، اردو‌های خود را برافراشتند.

⁸They traveled from before Hahiroth, and passed through the midst of the sea into the wilderness: and they went three days’ journey in the wilderness of Etham, and encamped in Marah.

⁸ سپس فم الحیروت را به عزم بیابان ایتام ترک کردند و از دریای سرخ عبور نموده، به آنجا رسیدند. پس از طی یک مسافت سه روزه، در بیابان ایتام به مارّه آمدند و در آنجا اردو زدند.

⁹They traveled from Marah, and came to Elim: and in Elim were twelve springs of water, and seventy palm trees; and they encamped there.

⁹ از آنجا به ایلیم رفتند چون آنجا دارای دوازده چشمه و هفتاد درخت خرما بود.

¹⁰They traveled from Elim, and encamped by the Red Sea or, Sea of Reeds .

¹⁰ از ایلیم حرکت کرده، به کنار دریای سرخ رفتند

¹¹They traveled from the Red Sea or, Sea of Reeds , and encamped in the wilderness of Sin.

¹¹ و از آنجا به بیابان سین آمدند و در آنجا اردو زدند.

¹²They traveled from the wilderness of Sin, and encamped in Dophkah.

¹² اردوگاه دیگرشان دفقه،

¹³They traveled from Dophkah, and encamped in Alush.

¹⁴They traveled from Alush, and encamped in Rephidim, where there was no water for the people to drink.

¹⁴ و رفیدیم بود. در رفیدیم آب نوشیدنی پیدا نمی‌شد.

¹⁵They traveled from Rephidim, and encamped in the wilderness of Sinai.

¹⁵ از رفیدیم کوچ کردند و از آنجا به صحرای سینا و بعد به قیروت هتاوه، سپس به سوی حصیروت رفتند. بقیّهٔ مراحل سفرشان به این ترتیب بود: از حصیروت به رتمه، از رتمه به رِمون فارص، از رِمون فارص به لبنه، از لبنه به رسه، از رسه به قهیلاته، از قهیلاته به کوه شافر، از کوه شافر به حراده، از حراده به مقهیلوت، از مقهیلوت به تاحت، از تاحت به تارح، از تارح به متقه، از متقه به حشمونه، از حشمونه به مسیروت، از مسیروت به بنی‌یعقان، از بنی‌یعقان به حورالجدجاد، از حورالجدجاد به یُطبات، از یطبات به عبرونه، از عبرونه به عِصیون جابر، از عصیون جابر به قادش در بیابان صین، از قادش به کوه هور در مرز سرزمین اَدوم.

¹⁶They traveled from the wilderness of Sinai, and encamped in Kibroth Hattaavah.

¹⁶ در اینجا بود که خداوند به هارون کاهن فرمود که به بالای کوه هور برود و او در روز اول ماه پنجم سال چهلم، بعد از آن که قوم اسرائیل از سرزمین مصر خارج شدند، در سن صد و بیست و سه سالگی وفات یافت.

¹⁷They traveled from Kibroth Hattaavah, and encamped in Hazeroth.

¹⁷ پادشاه عراد واقع در قسمت جنوب کنعان، از آمدن قوم اسرائیل باخبر شد.

¹⁸They traveled from Hazeroth, and encamped in Rithmah.

¹⁸ سپس قوم اسرائیل از کوه هور حرکت کرده، رهسپار صلمونه شدند. از صلمونه به فونون، بعد به اوبوت، عیی عباریم (مرز موآب)، دیبون جاد، علمون دبلاتایم و سپس در کوهستان عباریم، در نزدیکی کوه نَبو، اردو زدند. بالاخره به دشت موآب رسیدند که در کنار رود اردن، مقابل شهر اریحا بود. و در آنجا در کنار رود اردن از بیت یشیموت تا آبل درّهٔ اقاقیا، در دشت موآب اردو زدند.

¹⁹They traveled from Rithmah, and encamped in Rimmon Perez.

¹⁹ در همین جا، یعنی در کنار رود اردن، مقابل شهر اریحا بود که خداوند

²⁰They traveled from Rimmon Perez, and encamped in Libnah.

²⁰ این دستورات را به موسی داد: «وقتی از رود اردن عبور کردید، به سرزمین کنعان رسیدید،

²¹They traveled from Libnah, and encamped in Rissah.

²¹ باید تمام ساکنان آنجا را بیرون برانید. همهٔ بُتهای سنگی و فلزی آنها را از بین ببرید و پرستشگاههای بالای تپّه‌های ایشان را ویران کنید.

²²They traveled from Rissah, and encamped in Kehelathah.

²² سرزمینشان را متصرّف شوید و در آنجا سکونت اختیار نمایید، زیرا من آن سرزمین را به شما داده‌ام.

²³They traveled from Kehelathah, and encamped in Mount Shepher.

²³ زمین آنجا را بین طایفه‌های اسرائیل به قید قرعه تقسیم کنید. به خاندان بزرگتر، زمین زیادتر و به خاندان کوچکتر، زمین کمتر داده شود.

²⁴They traveled from Mount Shepher, and encamped in Haradah.

²⁴ اگر شما ساکنان آنجا را نرانید، کسانی‌که باقی بمانند، مثل خار در چشم شما و مانند تیغ در پهلویتان بوده، موجب آزارتان می‌شوند. و من هم همان طوری ‌که می‌خواستم با آنها رفتار کنم، با شما هم همان رفتار را می‌نمایم.»

²⁵ و من هم همان طوری ‌که می‌خواستم با آنها رفتار کنم، با شما هم همان رفتار را می‌نمایم.»

²⁸They traveled from Terah, and encamped in Mithkah.

²⁹They traveled from Mithkah, and encamped in Hashmonah.

³⁰They traveled from Hashmonah, and encamped in Moseroth.

³¹They traveled from Moseroth, and encamped in Bene Jaakan.

³²They traveled from Bene Jaakan, and encamped in Hor Haggidgad.

³³They traveled from Hor Haggidgad, and encamped in Jotbathah.

³⁴They traveled from Jotbathah, and encamped in Abronah.

³⁵They traveled from Abronah, and encamped in Ezion Geber.

³⁶They traveled from Ezion Geber, and encamped in the wilderness of Zin (the same is Kadesh).

³⁷They traveled from Kadesh, and encamped in Mount Hor, in the edge of the land of Edom.

³⁸Aaron the priest went up into Mount Hor at the commandment of Yahweh, and died there, in the fortieth year after the children of Israel had come out of the land of Egypt, in the fifth month, on the first day of the month.

³⁹Aaron was one hundred twenty-three years old when he died in Mount Hor.

⁴⁰The Canaanite, the king of Arad, who lived in the South in the land of Canaan, heard of the coming of the children of Israel.

⁴¹They traveled from Mount Hor, and encamped in Zalmonah.

⁴²They traveled from Zalmonah, and encamped in Punon.

⁴³They traveled from Punon, and encamped in Oboth.

⁴⁴They traveled from Oboth, and encamped in Iye Abarim, in the border of Moab.

⁴⁵They traveled from Iyim, and encamped in Dibon Gad.

⁴⁶They traveled from Dibon Gad, and encamped in Almon Diblathaim.

⁴⁷They traveled from Almon Diblathaim, and encamped in the mountains of Abarim, before Nebo.

⁴⁸They traveled from the mountains of Abarim, and encamped in the plains of Moab by the Jordan at Jericho.

⁴⁹They encamped by the Jordan, from Beth Jeshimoth even to Abel Shittim in the plains of Moab.

⁵⁰Yahweh spoke to Moses in the plains of Moab by the Jordan at Jericho, saying,

⁵¹Speak to the children of Israel, and tell them, “When you pass over the Jordan into the land of Canaan,

⁵²then you shall drive out all the inhabitants of the land from before you, destroy all their stone idols, destroy all their molten images, and demolish all their high places.

⁵³You shall take possession of the land, and dwell therein; for I have given given the land to you to possess it.

⁵⁴You shall inherit the land by lot according to your families; to the more you shall give the more inheritance, and to the fewer you shall give the less inheritance: wherever the lot falls to any man, that shall be his. You shall inherit according to the tribes of your fathers.

⁵⁵“But if you do not drive out the inhabitants of the land from before you, then those you let remain of them will be as pricks in your eyes and as thorns in your sides, and they will harass you in the land in which you dwell.

⁵⁶It shall happen that as I thought to do to them, so will I do to you.”
