¹A reed like a rod was given to me. Someone said, “Rise, and measure God’s temple, and the altar, and those who worship in it.

¹ به من چوب بلندی كه مانند چوب اندازه‌گیری بود، دادند و گفتند: «برو معبد خدا و قربانگاه را اندازه بگیر و تعداد عبادت كنندگان را بشمار

²Leave out the court which is outside of the temple, and don’t measure it, for it has been given to the nations. They will tread the holy city under foot for forty-two months.

² ولی با محوطهٔ خارج معبد كاری نداشته باش، آن را اندازه نگیر. زیرا به ملل غیر یهودی واگذار شده است و آنان به مدّت چهل و دو ماه شهر مقدّس را پایمال خواهند كرد.

³I will give power to my two witnesses, and they will prophesy one thousand two hundred sixty days, clothed in sackcloth.”

³ من دو شاهد خود را مأمور خواهم ساخت، دو پلاس‌پوش كه در تمام آن یک‌‌هزار و دویست و شصت روز نبوّت خواهند كرد.»

⁴These are the two olive trees and the two lampstands, standing before the Lord of the earth.

⁴ این دو نفر همان دو درخت زیتون و دو چراغی هستند كه در پیشگاه خداوند زمین می‌ایستند.

⁵If anyone desires to harm them, fire proceeds out of their mouth and devours their enemies. If anyone desires to harm them, he must be killed in this way.

⁵ اگر كسی بخواهد به آنها آزاری برساند، از دهان آنان آتش بیرون می‌ریزد و دشمنانشان را می‌سوزاند، به این ترتیب هركه در پی آزار آنها باشد، كشته می‌شود.

⁶These have the power to shut up the sky, that it may not rain during the days of their prophecy. They have power over the waters, to turn them into blood, and to strike the earth with every plague, as often as they desire.

⁶ این دو نفر قدرت بستن آسمان را دارند، به طوری که در مدّت نبوّت آنان باران نبارد و قدرت دارند كه چشمه‌های آب را به خون مبدّل سازند و زمین را هر زمان كه بخواهند به بلایی دچار سازند.

⁷When they have finished their testimony, the beast that comes up out of the abyss will make war with them, and overcome them, and kill them.

⁷ و آن زمان كه شهادت خود را به پایان رسانند، آن حیوان وحشی كه از چاه بی‌انتها می‌آید با آنان جنگ خواهد كرد، آنان را شكست خواهد داد و به قتل خواهد رسانید.

⁸Their dead bodies will be in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also their Lord was crucified.

⁸ نعش‌های آنان در خیابان آن شهر بزرگ كه به كنایه سدوم یا مصر نامیده شده است، خواهند افتاد. همان جایی‌که خداوند آنها نیز مصلوب شد.

⁹From among the peoples, tribes, languages, and nations people will look at their dead bodies for three and a half days, and will not allow their dead bodies to be laid in a tomb.

⁹ به مدّت سه روز و نیم مردمان از هر امّت و قبیله، از هر زبان و ملّت بر اجساد آنان خواهند نگریست و نخواهند گذاشت آنان دفن شوند.

¹⁰Those who dwell on the earth rejoice over them, and they will be glad. They will give gifts to one another, because these two prophets tormented those who dwell on the earth.

¹⁰ به‌خاطر مرگ این دو نفر، تمام مردم روی زمین خوشحال خواهند شد. جشن خواهند گرفت و به یكدیگر هدیه خواهند داد، زیرا این دو نبی، تمام مردم روی زمین را معذّب می‌ساختند.

¹¹After the three and a half days, the breath of life from God entered into them, and they stood on their feet. Great fear fell on those who saw them.

¹¹ در پایان این سه روز و نیم، روح حیات از جانب خدا بر آنان وارد آمد و آنها به روی پای خود ایستادند و تمام کسانی‌که این واقعه را دیدند، سخت وحشت كردند.

¹²I heard a loud voice from heaven saying to them, “Come up here!” They went up into heaven in the cloud, and their enemies saw them.

¹² آنگاه آن دو، صدای بلندی از آسمان شنیدند كه به آنان می‌گفت: «به اینجا بیایید.» و آنان پیش چشم دشمنان خود در ابری به آسمان رفتند.

¹³In that day there was a great earthquake, and a tenth of the city fell. Seven thousand people were killed in the earthquake, and the rest were terrified, and gave glory to the God of heaven.

¹³ در همان لحظه زمین لرزهٔ شدیدی رخ داد و یک دهم شهر فرو ریخت و هفت هزار نفر در آن زمین لرزه كشته شدند و آنها كه زنده ماندند، وحشت كردند و خدای آسمان را تمجید نمودند.

¹⁴The second woe is past. Behold, the third woe comes quickly.

¹⁴ بلای دوم به پایان رسید و بلای سوم بزودی می‌رسد.

¹⁵The seventh angel sounded, and great voices in heaven followed, saying, “The kingdom of the world has become the Kingdom of our Lord, and of his Christ. He will reign forever and ever!”

¹⁵ آنگاه فرشتهٔ هفتم در شیپور خود دمید و صداهای بلندی از آسمان به گوش رسید كه می‌گفتند: «فرمانروایی جهان به خداوند ما و مسیح او رسیده و او تا به ابد سلطنت خواهد كرد.»

¹⁶The twenty-four elders, who sit on their thrones before God’s throne, fell on their faces and worshiped God,

¹⁶ و آن بیست و چهار پیر كه در برابر خدا روی تختهایشان نشسته بودند، روی بر زمین نهادند و خدا را عبادت كردند و می‌گفتند:

¹⁷saying: “We give you thanks, Lord God, the Almighty, the one who is and who was TR adds “and who is coming” ; because you have taken your great power, and reigned.

¹⁷ «تو را سپاس می‌گوییم ای خداوند خدا، تویی قادر مطلق كه هستی و بودی. زیرا تو قدرت بسیار عظیم خود را به دست گرفته و سلطنت را آغاز کرده‌ای.

¹⁸The nations were angry, and your wrath came, as did the time for the dead to be judged, and to give your bondservants the prophets, their reward, as well as to the saints, and those who fear your name, to the small and the great; and to destroy those who destroy the earth.”

¹⁸ ملّتها خشمگین شدند. روز خشم تو رسیده است. اكنون زمان داوری مردگان است. اكنون زمان پاداش گرفتن خادمان تو یعنی انبیا و مقدّسین تو می‌باشد، کسانی‌که به تو حرمت می‌گذارند، چه كوچک و چه بزرگ. زمان آن رسیده است تا کسانی‌که زمین را تباه می‌سازند، از بین ببری.» آنگاه معبد خدا در آسمان گشوده شد و در داخل معبد صندوقچهٔ پیمان خدا دیده شد، رعد و برق و زلزله پدید آمد. صداهای مهیب شنیده شد و تگرگ شدید بارید.

¹⁹God’s temple that is in heaven was opened, and the ark of the Lord’s covenant was seen in his temple. Lightnings, sounds, thunders, an earthquake, and great hail followed.

¹⁹ آنگاه معبد خدا در آسمان گشوده شد و در داخل معبد صندوقچهٔ پیمان خدا دیده شد، رعد و برق و زلزله پدید آمد. صداهای مهیب شنیده شد و تگرگ شدید بارید.
