¹A great sign was seen in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars.

¹ در این وقت، علامت بزرگی در آسمان ظاهر شد. زنی را دیدم كه ملبّس به آفتاب بود، او تاجی از دوازده ستاره بر سر داشت و ماه در زیر پاهایش بود.

²She was with child. She cried out in pain, laboring to give birth.

² او باردار بود و از درد زایمان و پریشانی فریاد می‌زد.

³Another sign was seen in heaven. Behold, a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and on his heads seven crowns.

³ آنگاه علامتی دیگر در آسمان ظاهر شد، اژدهای بزرگِ سرخ رنگی را دیدم كه هفت سر و ده شاخ داشت و بر هر یكی از سرهایش نیم‌تاجی قرار داشت

⁴His tail drew one third of the stars of the sky, and threw them to the earth. The dragon stood before the woman who was about to give birth, so that when she gave birth he might devour her child.

⁴ و با دُم خود یک سوم ستارگان آسمان را جمع كرد و آنان را بر زمین ریخت. اژدها در برابر آن زنی كه نزدیک بود بزاید، ایستاد تا همین‌که بچّه‌اش به دنیا بیاید، آن را ببلعد.

⁵She gave birth to a son, a male child, who is to rule all the nations with a rod of iron. Her child was caught up to God, and to his throne.

⁵ آن زن پسری به دنیا آورد كه قرار بود با عصایی آهنین بر همهٔ ملل حكومت كند. امّا كودک او به سوی خدا و تخت او ربوده شد

⁶The woman fled into the wilderness, where she has a place prepared by God, that there they may nourish her one thousand two hundred sixty days.

⁶ و آن زن به بیابان، به جایی‌که خدا برایش آماده كرده بود، گریخت تا در آنجا به مدّت یک‌هزار و دویست و شصت روز نگهداری شود.

⁷There was war in the sky. Michael and his angels made war on the dragon. The dragon and his angels made war.

⁷ در آسمان جنگی برپا شد. میكائیل و فرشتگانش با اژدها و فرشتگان او جنگیدند.

⁸They didn’t prevail, neither was a place found for him any more in heaven.

⁸ اژدها شكست خورد و دیگر در آسمان جایی برای او و فرشتگانش نبود.

⁹The great dragon was thrown down, the old serpent, he who is called the devil and Satan, the deceiver of the whole world. He was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him.

⁹ پس آن اژدهای بزرگ از آسمان به زیر انداخته شد؛ آن مار قدیمی كه تمام جهان را گمراه می‌کند و نامش ابلیس و شیطان است، با فرشتگانش به زمین افكنده شدند.

¹⁰I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying, “Now the salvation, the power, and the Kingdom of our God, and the authority of his Christ has come; for the accuser of our brothers has been thrown down, who accuses them before our God day and night.

¹⁰ آنگاه صدایی بلند در آسمان شنیدم كه می‌گفت: «اكنون نجات و قدرت و سلطنت خدای ما رسیده است و مسیح او قدرت را به دست گرفته است و کسی‌که مدّعی ایمانداران بود و شب و روز آنان را در برابر خدای ما متّهم می‌ساخت، از آسمان بیرون رانده شده است.

¹¹They overcame him because of the Lamb’s blood, and because of the word of their testimony. They didn’t love their life, even to death.

¹¹ این ایمانداران با خون برّه و با شهادتی كه به زبان می‌آورند بر او چیره شده‌اند؛ زیرا آنها حاضرند جانهای خود را فدا كرده، بمیرند.

¹²Therefore rejoice, heavens, and you who dwell in them. Woe to the earth and to the sea, because the devil has gone down to you, having great wrath, knowing that he has but a short time.”

¹² پس ای آسمانها و همهٔ ساكنان آنها شادی كنید. امّا وای بر شما، ای زمین و ای دریا، زیرا ابلیس به سوی شما آمده است و از اینکه می‌داند مهلت زیادی ندارد، بسیار خشمگین است.»

¹³When the dragon saw that he was thrown down to the earth, he persecuted the woman who gave birth to the male child.

¹³ همین‌که اژدها فهمید كه به زمین انداخته شده است، به دنبال زنی كه پسری به دنیا آورد، رفت.

¹⁴Two wings of the great eagle were given to the woman, that she might fly into the wilderness to her place, so that she might be nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent.

¹⁴ امّا به آن زن دو بال عقاب بزرگ داده شد تا به سوی مكانی كه در بیابان برایش آماده شده بود، پرواز كند و مدّت سه سال و نیم در آنجا دور از دسترس مار نگهداری شود.

¹⁵The serpent spewed water out of his mouth after the woman like a river, that he might cause her to be carried away by the stream.

¹⁵ مار به دنبال آن زن سیلابی از دهان خود جاری ساخت تا با جریان آن او را بشوید و ببرد.

¹⁶The earth helped the woman, and the earth opened its mouth and swallowed up the river which the dragon spewed out of his mouth.

¹⁶ امّا زمین به كمک او آمده دهان خود را گشود و سیلابی را كه اژدها از دهان خود جاری ساخته بود فرو برد.

¹⁷The dragon grew angry with the woman, and went away to make war with the rest of her seed, who keep God’s commandments and hold Jesus’ testimony.

¹⁷ از این رو اژدها نسبت به آن زن خشمگین شد و رفت تا با بقیّهٔ فرزندان او كه فرمانهای خدا را نگاه می‌دارند و به عیسی شهادت می‌دهند، بجنگد و اژدها در ساحل دریا به انتظار ایستاد.

¹⁸ و اژدها در ساحل دریا به انتظار ایستاد.
