1I saw, in the right hand of him who sat on the throne, a book written inside and outside, sealed shut with seven seals.

آنگاه دیدم كه تختنشین، طوماری در دست راست دارد كه هر دو طرف آن نوشته شده و با هفت مُهر، مُهر و موم شده بود.
2I saw a mighty angel proclaiming with a loud voice, “Who is worthy to open the book, and to break its seals?”

و فرشتهٔ نیرومندی را دیدم كه با صدای بلند میگفت: «چه کسی شایسته است كه طومار را بگشاید و مُهرهایش را بردارد؟»
3No one in heaven above, or on the earth, or under the earth, was able to open the book, or to look in it.

امّا هیچکس در آسمان یا روی زمین و یا زیر زمین قادر نبود كه طومار را بگشاید و یا به داخل آن نگاه كند.
4And I wept much, because no one was found worthy to open the book, or to look in it.

من زارزار میگریستم، زیرا كسی یافت نشد كه شایستهٔ آن باشد که طومار را بگشاید و یا به داخل آن نگاه كند.
5One of the elders said to me, “Don’t weep. Behold, the Lion who is of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has overcome; he who opens the book and its seven seals.”

آنگاه یكی از پیران به من گفت: «گریه مكن زیرا آن شیر، شیری كه از طایفهٔ یهودا و نهالی از نسل داوود است، پیروز شده و او حق گشودن طومار و برداشتن هفت مُهر آن را دارد.»
6I saw in the midst of the throne and of the four living creatures, and in the midst of the elders, a Lamb standing, as though it had been slain, having seven horns, and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God, sent out into all the earth.

آنگاه دیدم كه در وسط همان تخت و در میان آن حیوانات و پیران، برّهای ایستاده بود كه علامت برّهٔ قربانی شده را داشت. آن برّه دارای هفت شاخ و هفت چشم بود. هفت چشمی كه هفت روح خدا هستند و به همهٔ جهان فرستاده شدهاند.
7Then he came, and he took it out of the right hand of him who sat on the throne.

برّه جلو آمد و طومار را از دست راست تختنشین گرفت.
8Now when he had taken the book, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each one having a harp, and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints.

همینکه او آن را گرفت آن چهار حیوان و بیست و چهار پیر، پیش برّه سجده كردند. پیران به یک دست چنگ داشتند و به دست دیگر جامهای زرّین پر از بُخور كه نشانهٔ دعاهای مقدّسین است.
9They sang a new song, saying, “You are worthy to take the book, and to open its seals: for you were killed, and bought us for God with your blood, out of every tribe, language, people, and nation,

آنها سرود تازهای میسراییدند:
«تو شایستهای كه، طومار را بگیری،
و مُهرهایش را بگشایی،
زیرا تو كشته شدی و با خون خود مردمان را از هر طایفه و زبان،
از هر ملّت و امّت، برای خدا خریدی.
10and made us kings and priests to our God, and we will reign on earth.”

تو آنان را به سلطنت رسانیدی تا به عنوان كاهنان،
خدای ما را خدمت كنند و آنها بر زمین فرمانروایی خواهند كرد.»
11I saw, and I heard something like a voice of many angels around the throne, the living creatures, and the elders; and the number of them was ten thousands of ten thousands, and thousands of thousands;

آنگاه نگاه كردم و صدای فرشتگان بیشماری را كه صدها هزار و هزاران هزار بودند، شنیدم. آنها در اطراف آن تخت و حیوانات و پیران ایستاده بودند
12saying with a loud voice, “Worthy is the Lamb who has been killed to receive the power, wealth, wisdom, strength, honor, glory, and blessing!”

و با صدای بلند فریاد میزدند:
«برّهٔ قربانی شده شایسته است
تا قدرت و ثروت، حكمت و توانایی،
حرمت و جلال و تمجید بیاید.»
13I heard every created thing which is in heaven, on the earth, under the earth, on the sea, and everything in them, saying, “To him who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb be the blessing, the honor, the glory, and the dominion, forever and ever! Amen! TR omits “Amen!” ”

آنگاه شنیدم كه همهٔ موجودات آسمان و زمین و زیر زمین و دریا و هرچه در آنهاست فریاد میکردند:
«ستایش و عزّت، جلال و قدرت،
از آن كسی باد كه بر تخت مینشیند
و تا به ابد از آن برّه باد!»
و آن چهار حیوان گفتند «آمین» و پیران سجده نموده، او را پرستش كردند.
14The four living creatures said, “Amen!” The TR adds “twenty-four” elders fell down and worshiped. TR adds “the one living forever and ever”
