¹There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who don’t walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. NU omits “who don’t walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit”

¹ پس دیگر برای کسانی‌که در اتّحاد با مسیح عیسی به سر می‌برند هیچ محكومیّتی وجود ندارد،

²For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus made me free from the law of sin and of death.

² زیرا فرمان حیات‌بخش روح‌القدس كه در اتّحاد با مسیح عیسی یافت می‌شود، مرا از فرمان گناه و مرگ آزاد كرده است.

³For what the law couldn’t do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God did, sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, he condemned sin in the flesh;

³ آنچه را كه شریعت به علّت ضعف طبیعت نفسانی نتوانست انجام دهد، خدا انجام داد. او فرزند خود را به صورت انسان جسمانی و گناهكار، برای آمرزش گناهان بشر فرستاد و به این وسیله گناه را در ذات انسانی محكوم ساخت.

⁴that the ordinance of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

⁴ خدا چنین كرد تا احكام شریعت به وسیلهٔ ما كه گرفتار طبیعت نفسانی خود نیستیم، بلكه مطیع روح خدا می‌باشیم، بجا آورده شود.

⁵For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit.

⁵ زیرا کسانی‌که بر طبق خواهش‌های نفس زندگی می‌کنند، همیشه در فكر چیزهای نفسانی هستند ولی كسانی ‌كه مطیع روح خدا هستند، در فكر چیزهای روحانی می‌باشند.

⁶For the mind of the flesh is death, but the mind of the Spirit is life and peace;

⁶ عاقبت دلبستگی به امور نفسانی، مرگ و عاقبت پیروی از امور روحانی، حیات و آرامش است.

⁷because the mind of the flesh is hostile towards God; for it is not subject to God’s law, neither indeed can it be.

⁷ زیرا دلبستگی به امور نفسانی، دشمنی با خداست. چنین شخصی از شریعت خدا اطاعت نمی‌کند و در واقع نمی‌تواند اطاعت نماید.

⁸Those who are in the flesh can’t please God.

⁸ بنابراین انسانهای نفسانی نمی‌‌توانند خدا را خشنود سازند.

⁹But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if it is so that the Spirit of God dwells in you. But if any man doesn’t have the Spirit of Christ, he is not his.

⁹ اگر روح خدا در وجود شما ساكن است شما اشخاصی روحانی هستید، نه نفسانی. هرکه روح مسیح را ندارد، از آن او نیست.

¹⁰If Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the spirit is alive because of righteousness.

¹⁰ امّا اگر مسیح در وجود شما ساكن است، حتّی اگر بدن شما به علّت گناه محكوم به مرگ باشد، روح خدا به شما حیات می‌بخشد، چون شما کاملاً نیک محسوب شده‌اید.

¹¹But if the Spirit of him who raised up Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised up Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you.

¹¹ اگر روح خدا كه مسیح را پس از مرگ زنده گردانید، در وجود شما ساكن باشد، همان‌طور كه او را پس از مرگ زنده گردانید، به وسیلهٔ همان روح‌‌القدس كه در شما ساكن است، به جسم فانی شما هم حیات خواهد بخشید.

¹²So then, brothers, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh.

¹² پس ای دوستان من، ما مدیونیم، امّا نه به طبیعت نفسانی خود و نه به پیروی از خواهش‌های نفس.

¹³For if you live after the flesh, you must die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.

¹³ زیرا اگر مطابق طبیعت نفسانی خود زندگی كنید خواهید مرد. امّا اگر به یاری روح خدا، کارهای جسمانی را نابود سازید، خواهید زیست.

¹⁴For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are children of God.

¹⁴ كسانی ‌كه به ‌وسیلهٔ روح خدا هدایت می‌شوند، فرزندان خدا هستند.

¹⁵For you didn’t receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption, by whom we cry, “Abba Abba is an Aramaic word for father or daddy, often used affectionately and respectfully in prayer to our Father in heaven. ! Father!”

¹⁵ زیرا آن روحی كه خدا به شما داده است، شما را برده نمی‌‌سازد و موجب ترس نمی‌شود، بلكه آن روح شما را فرزندان خدا می‌گرداند و ما به كمک این روح در پیشگاه خدا فریاد می‌کنیم: «ابا، ای پدر.»

¹⁶The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God;

¹⁶ روح خدا با روح ما با هم شهادت می‌دهند كه ما فرزندان خدا هستیم

¹⁷and if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint heirs with Christ; if indeed we suffer with him, that we may also be glorified with him.

¹⁷ و اگر فرزندان او هستیم، در آن صورت، وارث -‌یعنی وارث خدا و هم ارث با مسیح- نیز هستیم و اگر ما در رنج مسیح شریک هستیم، در جلال او نیز شریک خواهیم شد.

¹⁸For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which will be revealed toward us.

¹⁸ به عقیدهٔ من درد و رنج كنونی ما ابداً با جلالی كه در آینده برای ما ظاهر می‌شود، قابل مقایسه نیست.

¹⁹For the creation waits with eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed.

¹⁹ تمامی خلقت با اشتیاق فراوان در انتظار ظهور فرزندان خدا به سر می‌برد.

²⁰For the creation was subjected to vanity, not of its own will, but because of him who subjected it, in hope

²⁰ زیرا خلقت نه به ارادهٔ خود بلكه به خواست خدا دچار بیهودگی شد تا این امید باقی بماند

²¹that the creation itself also will be delivered from the bondage of decay into the liberty of the glory of the children of God.

²¹ كه روزی خود آفرینش از قید فساد آزاد گردد و در آزادی پر شكوه فرزندان خدا سهیم شود.

²²For we know that the whole creation groans and travails in pain together until now.

²² زیرا می‌دانیم كه تمامی آفرینش تا زمان حاضر از دردی مانند درد زایمان نالیده است.

²³Not only so, but ourselves also, who have the first fruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for adoption, the redemption of our body.

²³ نه تنها خلقت، بلكه ما نیز كه روح خدا را به عنوان اولین نمونهٔ عطایای خدا دریافت كرده‌ایم، در درون خود می‌نالیم و در انتظار آن هستیم كه خدا ما را فرزندان خود بگرداند و كلّ بدن ما را آزاد سازد.

²⁴For we were saved in hope, but hope that is seen is not hope. For who hopes for that which he sees?

²⁴ زیرا با چنین امیدی بود كه ما نجات یافتیم؛ امّا امیدی كه برآورده شده باشد، دیگر امید نیست. چه كسی در انتظار چیزی است كه قبلاً آن را یافته است؟

²⁵But if we hope for that which we don’t see, we wait for it with patience.

²⁵ امّا اگر در امید چیزی هستیم كه هنوز نیافته‌ایم، با صبر منتظر آن می‌شویم.

²⁶In the same way, the Spirit also helps our weaknesses, for we don’t know how to pray as we ought. But the Spirit himself makes intercession for us with groanings which can’t be uttered.

²⁶ به همین طریق روح خدا در عین ضعف و ناتوانی، ما را یاری می‌کند؛ زیرا ما هنوز نمی‌دانیم چگونه باید دعا كنیم. امّا خود روح خدا با ناله‌هایی ‌كه نمی‌توان بیان كرد، برای ما شفاعت می‌کند

²⁷He who searches the hearts knows what is on the Spirit’s mind, because he makes intercession for the saints according to God.

²⁷ و آنكه قلبهای انسان را جستجو می‌کند، از نیّت روح آگاه است؛ چون روح‌‌القدس مطابق خواست خدا برای مقدّسین شفاعت می‌کند.

²⁸We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose.

²⁸ ما می‌دانیم همه‌چیز برای خیریّت آنانی كه خدا را دوست دارند و به حسب ارادهٔ او خوانده شده‌اند، با هم در كارند.

²⁹For whom he foreknew, he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. The word for “brothers” here and where context allows may also be correctly translated “brothers and sisters” or “siblings.”

²⁹ زیرا خدا آنانی را كه از ابتدا می‌شناخت از پیش برگزید تا به شكل پسر او درآیند و تا پسر، نخستین برادر در میان ایمانداران بسیار باشد.

³⁰Whom he predestined, those he also called. Whom he called, those he also justified. Whom he justified, those he also glorified.

³⁰ او كسانی را كه قبلاً برگزیده بود به سوی خود خوانده است و خوانده شدگان را کاملاً نیک محسوب كرد و نیكان را نیز جاه و جلال بخشید.

³¹What then shall we say about these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?

³¹ پس در برابر این چیزها چه بگوییم؟ اگر خدا پشتیبان ماست، كیست كه برضد ما باشد؟

³²He who didn’t spare his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how would he not also with him freely give us all things?

³² آیا خدایی که پسر خود را دریغ نداشت، بلكه او را در راه همهٔ ما تسلیم كرد، با بخشیدن او همه‌چیز را با سخاوتمندی به ما نمی‌بخشد؟

³³Who could bring a charge against God’s chosen ones? It is God who justifies.

³³ چه كسی برگزیدگان خدا را متّهم خواهد كرد؟ خدا آنان را تبرئه می‌نماید!

³⁴Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, yes rather, who was raised from the dead, who is at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us.

³⁴ پس كیست كه بتواند آنان را محكوم سازد؟ مسیح عیسی ‌كسی است كه مُرد و حتّی دوباره زنده شد و اكنون در دست راست خدا برای ما شفاعت می‌کند!

³⁵Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Could oppression, or anguish, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?

³⁵ پس چه كسی می‌تواند ما را از محبّت مسیح جدا سازد؟ آیا مصیبت یا نگرانی یا زجر یا گرسنگی یا تهیدستی یا خطر و یا شمشیر قادر است ما را از مسیح جدا سازد؟

³⁶Even as it is written, “For your sake we are killed all day long. We were accounted as sheep for the slaughter.” Psalm 44:22

³⁶ چنانکه كتاب ‌مقدّس می‌فرماید: «به‌خاطر تو در تمام روز در خطر مرگ هستیم و با ما مانند گوسفندانی كه به كشتارگاه می‌روند، رفتار می‌شود.»

³⁷No, in all these things, we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.

³⁷ با وجود همهٔ این چیزها، به وسیلهٔ او كه ما را دوست داشت، پیروزی ما كامل می‌شود.

³⁸For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers,

³⁸ زیرا یقین دارم كه نه موت و نه حیات، نه فرشتگان و نه نیروها و قدرتهای فوق بشری، نه پیشامدهای امروز و نه وقایع فردا، نه قدرتهای آسمانی و نه بلندی و نه پستی و خلاصه هیچ چیز در تمام آفرینش نمی‌تواند ما را از محبتّی كه خدا در خداوند ما عیسی مسیح آشكار نموده، جدا سازد.

³⁹nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

³⁹ و نه بلندی و نه پستی و خلاصه هیچ چیز در تمام آفرینش نمی‌تواند ما را از محبتّی كه خدا در خداوند ما عیسی مسیح آشكار نموده، جدا سازد.
