¹Then Job answered,

¹Então Jó respondeu:

²“How have you helped him who is without power! How have you saved the arm that has no strength!

²Como tens ajudado ao que não tem força e sustentado o braço que não tem vigor!

³How have you counseled him who has no wisdom, and plentifully declared sound knowledge!

³como tens aconselhado ao que não tem sabedoria, e plenamente tens revelado o verdadeiro conhecimento!

⁴To whom have you uttered words? Whose spirit came forth from you?

⁴Para quem proferiste palavras? E de quem é o espírito que saiu de ti?

⁵“Those who are deceased tremble, those beneath the waters and all that live in them.

⁵Os mortos tremem debaixo das águas, com os que ali habitam.

⁶ Sheol Sheol is the lower world or the grave. is naked before God, and Abaddon Abaddon means Destroyer. has no covering.

⁶O Seol está nu perante Deus, e não há coberta para o Abadom.

⁷He stretches out the north over empty space, and hangs the earth on nothing.

⁷Ele estende o norte sobre o vazio; suspende a terra sobre o nada.

⁸He binds up the waters in his thick clouds, and the cloud is not burst under them.

⁸Prende as águas em suas densas nuvens, e a nuvem não se rasga debaixo delas.

⁹He encloses the face of his throne, and spreads his cloud on it.

⁹Encobre a face do seu trono, e sobre ele estende a sua nuvem.

¹⁰He has described a boundary on the surface of the waters, and to the confines of light and darkness.

¹⁰Marcou um limite circular sobre a superfície das águas, onde a luz e as trevas se confinam.

¹¹The pillars of heaven tremble and are astonished at his rebuke.

¹¹As colunas do céu tremem, e se espantam da sua ameaça.

¹²He stirs up the sea with his power, and by his understanding he strikes through Rahab.

¹²Com o seu poder fez sossegar o mar, e com o seu entendimento abateu a Raabe.

¹³By his Spirit the heavens are garnished. His hand has pierced the swift serpent.

¹³Pelo seu sopro ornou o céu; a sua mão traspassou a serpente veloz.

¹⁴Behold, these are but the outskirts of his ways. How small a whisper do we hear of him! But the thunder of his power who can understand?”

¹⁴Eis que essas coisas são apenas as orlas dos seus caminhos; e quão pequeno é o sussurro que dele, ouvimos! Mas o trovão do seu poder, quem o poderá entender?
