¹Why do the nations rage, and the peoples plot a vain thing?

¹Por que se amotinam as nações, e os povos tramam em vão?

²The kings of the earth take a stand, and the rulers take counsel together, against Yahweh, and against his Anointed, The word “Anointed” is the same as the word for “Messiah” or “Christ” saying,

²Os reis da terra se levantam, e os príncipes juntos conspiram contra o Senhor e contra o seu ungido, dizendo:

³“Let’s break their bonds apart, and cast their cords from us.”

³Rompamos as suas ataduras, e sacudamos de nós as suas cordas.

⁴Aquele que está sentado nos céus se rirá; o Senhor zombará deles.

⁵Then he will speak to them in his anger, and terrify them in his wrath:

⁵Então lhes falará na sua ira, e no seu furor os confundirá, dizendo:

⁸Ask of me, and I will give the nations for your inheritance, the uttermost parts of the earth for your possession.

⁸Pede-me, e eu te darei as nações por herança, e as extremidades da terra por possessão.

⁹You shall break them with a rod of iron. You shall dash them in pieces like a potter’s vessel.”

⁹Tu os quebrarás com uma vara de ferro; tu os despedaçarás como a um vaso de oleiro.

¹⁰Now therefore be wise, you kings. Be instructed, you judges of the earth.

¹⁰Agora, pois, ó reis, sede prudentes; deixai-vos instruir, juízes da terra.

¹¹Serve Yahweh with fear, and rejoice with trembling.

¹¹Servi ao Senhor com temor, e regozijai-vos com tremor.

¹²Give sincere homage to the Son or, Kiss the son , lest he be angry, and you perish in the way, for his wrath will soon be kindled. Blessed are all those who take refuge in him.

¹²Beijai o Filho, para que não se ire, e pereçais no caminho; porque em breve se inflamará a sua ira. Bem-aventurados todos aqueles que nele confiam.
