¹Dare any of you, having a matter against his neighbor, go to law before the unrighteous, and not before the saints?

¹Či sa opováži niekto z vás, kto má spor s iným, súdiť sa pred nespravedlivými a nie pred svätými?

²Don’t you know that the saints will judge the world? And if the world is judged by you, are you unworthy to judge the smallest matters?

²Alebo či neviete, že svätí budú súdiť svet? A jestli vy máte súdiť svet, či ste nehodni rozsúdiť veci, ktoré sú najmenšie?

³Don’t you know that we will judge angels? How much more, things that pertain to this life?

³Či neviete, že budeme súdiť anjelov? A jako potom nie veci časného života?!

⁴If then, you have to judge things pertaining to this life, do you set them to judge who are of no account in the assembly?

⁴Keď tedy máte súdy o veci časného života, ktorých nemajú za nič vo sbore, tých posaďte, aby súdili!

⁵I say this to move you to shame. Isn’t there even one wise man among you who would be able to decide between his brothers?

⁵Vám na zahanbenie hovorím. Či tak vonkoncom nieto ani jedného múdreho medzi vami, ktorý by mohol rozsúdiť medzi svojimi bratmi?

⁶But brother goes to law with brother, and that before unbelievers!

⁶Ale brat s bratom sa súdi, a to pred neveriacimi!

⁷Therefore it is already altogether a defect in you, that you have lawsuits one with another. Why not rather be wronged? Why not rather be defrauded?

⁷Už je tedy celkom nedostatok u vás, že máte súdy medzi sebou. Prečo radšej netrpíte krivdy? Prečo radšej nenesiete škody?

⁸No, but you yourselves do wrong, and defraud, and that against your brothers.

⁸Ale vy krivdíte a škodíte, a to bratom!

⁹Or don’t you know that the unrighteous will not inherit the Kingdom of God? Don’t be deceived. Neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor male prostitutes, nor homosexuals,

⁹Alebo či neviete, že nespravodliví nezdedia kráľovstva Božieho? Nemýľte sa, ani smilníci ani modlári ani cudzoložníci ani mäkci ani samcoložníci

¹⁰nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor slanderers, nor extortioners, will inherit the Kingdom of God.

¹⁰ani zlodeji ani lakomci ani opilci ani nadávači ani dráči nezdedia kráľovstva Božieho.

¹¹Such were some of you, but you were washed. But you were sanctified. But you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and in the Spirit of our God.

¹¹A to ste boli niektorí, ale ste sa umyli, ale ste posvätení, ale ste ospravedlnení v mene Pána Ježiša Krista a v Duchu nášho Boha.

¹²“All things are lawful for me,” but not all things are expedient. “All things are lawful for me,” but I will not be brought under the power of anything.

¹²Všetko smiem, ale nie všetko prospieva; všetko smiem, ale ja nebudem ničím ovládaný.

¹³“Foods for the belly, and the belly for foods,” but God will bring to nothing both it and them. But the body is not for sexual immorality, but for the Lord; and the Lord for the body.

¹³Pokrmy bruchu a brucho pokrmom, ale Bôh zkazí i brucho i pokrmy. No, telo nie smilstvu, ale Pánovi a Pán telu.

¹⁴Now God raised up the Lord, and will also raise us up by his power.

¹⁴A Bôh vzkriesil i Pána i nás vzkriesi svojou mocou.

¹⁵Don’t you know that your bodies are members of Christ? Shall I then take the members of Christ, and make them members of a prostitute? May it never be!

¹⁵Či neviete, že vaše telá sú údami Kristovými? Či tedy mám vziať údy Kristove a urobiť ich údami smilnice? To nech sa nestane!

¹⁶Or don’t you know that he who is joined to a prostitute is one body? For, “The two,” says he, “will become one flesh.” Genesis 2:24

¹⁶Alebo či neviete, že ten, kto sa pripojuje k smilnici, je s ňou jedným telom? Lebo, hovorí, tí dvaja budú jedno telo.

¹⁷But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit.

¹⁷A ten, kto sa pripojuje k Pánovi, je s ním jeden duch.

¹⁸Flee sexual immorality! “Every sin that a man does is outside the body,” but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body.

¹⁸Utekajte pred smilstvom! Každý hriech, ktorý by vykonal človek, je mimo tela. Ale ten, kto smilní, hreší proti svojmu vlastnému telu.

¹⁹Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which you have from God? You are not your own,

¹⁹Alebo či neviete, že vaše telo je chrámom Svätého Ducha, ktorý je vo vás, ktorého máte od Boha, a že nie ste sami svoji?

²⁰for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.

²⁰Lebo ste vykúpený za veľkú cenu. Nože tedy oslavujte Boha svojím telom a svojím duchom, čo je oboje Božie.
