⁸ When he has come, he will convict the world about sin, about righteousness, and about judgment;

⁹ about sin, because they don’t believe in me;

¹² “I have yet many things to tell you, but you can’t bear them now.

¹²Ešte by som vám mal mnoho čo povedať, ale teraz nemôžete zniesť.

¹³ However when he, the Spirit of truth, has come, he will guide you into all truth, for he will not speak from himself; but whatever he hears, he will speak. He will declare to you things that are coming.

¹³Ale keď prijde on, ten Duch pravdy, uvedie vás do každej pravdy; lebo nebude hovoriť sám od seba, ale bude hovoriť všetko, čokoľvek počuje, aj budúce veci vám bude zvestovať.

¹⁴ He will glorify me, for he will take from what is mine, and will declare it to you.

¹⁴Ten ma oslávi, pretože z môjho vezme a bude zvestovať vám.

¹⁵ All things whatever the Father has are mine; therefore I said that he takes TR reads “will take” instead of “takes” of mine, and will declare it to you.

¹⁵Všetko, čo má Otec, je moje; preto som povedal, že z môjho vezme a bude zvestovať vám.

¹⁶ A little while, and you will not see me. Again a little while, and you will see me.”

¹⁶Krátku chvíľu, a neuvidíte ma, a zase krátku chvíľu, a uvidíte ma, lebo ja idem k Otcovi.

¹⁷Some of his disciples therefore said to one another, “What is this that he says to us, ‘A little while, and you won’t see me, and again a little while, and you will see me;’ and, ‘Because I go to the Father?’ ”

¹⁷Vtedy si povedali niektorí z jeho učeníkov medzi sebou: Čo je to, čo nám to hovorí: Krátku chvíľu, a neuvidíte ma, a zase krátku chvíľu, a uvidíte ma, a vraj ja idem k Otcovi?

¹⁸They said therefore, “What is this that he says, ‘A little while?’ We don’t know what he is saying.”

¹⁸A tak hovorili: Čo je to, čo to hovorí, tá krátka chvíľa? Nevieme, čo hovorí.

¹⁹Therefore Jesus perceived that they wanted to ask him, and he said to them, “Do you inquire among yourselves concerning this, that I said, ‘A little while, and you won’t see me, and again a little while, and you will see me?’

¹⁹Vtedy poznal Ježiš, že sa ho chceli pýtať, a povedal im: Po tom sa dopytujete medzi sebou, že som povedal: Krátku chvíľu a neuvidíte ma, a zase krátku chvíľu, a uvidíte ma?

²⁰ Most certainly I tell you, that you will weep and lament, but the world will rejoice. You will be sorrowful, but your sorrow will be turned into joy.

²⁰Ameň, ameň vám hovorím, že vy budete plakať a nariekať, a svet sa bude radovať, a vy sa budete rmútiť; ale váš zármutok sa obráti v radosť.

²¹ A woman, when she gives birth, has sorrow, because her time has come. But when she has delivered the child, she doesn’t remember the anguish any more, for the joy that a human being is born into the world.

²¹Žena, keď rodí, má zármutok, lebo prišla jej hodina, ale keď porodí dieťatko, nepamätá viacej na súženie pre radosť, že sa človek narodil na svet.

²² Therefore you now have sorrow, but I will see you again, and your heart will rejoice, and no one will take your joy away from you.

²²A tak aj vy teraz pravda máte zármutok, ale vás zase uvidím, a vaše srdce sa bude radovať, a vašej radosti nevezme nikto od vás.

²³ “In that day you will ask me no questions. Most certainly I tell you, whatever you may ask of the Father in my name, he will give it to you.

²³A toho dňa sa ma už nebudete pýtať na nič. Ameň, ameň vám hovorím, že všetko, za čokoľvek by ste prosili Otca v mojom mene, dá vám.

²⁴ Until now, you have asked nothing in my name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be made full.

²⁴Dosiaľ ste za nič neprosili v mojom mene; proste a dostanete, aby vaša radosť bola naplnená.

²⁵ I have spoken these things to you in figures of speech. But the time is coming when I will no more speak to you in figures of speech, but will tell you plainly about the Father.

²⁵Toto som vám hovoril v podobenstvách, ale prijde hodina, keď vám už viacej nebudem hovoriť v podobenstvách, ale vám budem zjavne zvestovať o Otcovi.

²⁶ In that day you will ask in my name; and I don’t say to you, that I will pray to the Father for you,

²⁶Toho dňa budete prosiť v mojom mene, a nehovorím vám, že ja budem za vás žiadať Otca,

²⁷ for the Father himself loves you, because you have loved me, and have believed that I came forth from God.

²⁷lebo sám Otec vás má rád, pretože ste vy mňa mali radi a uverili ste, že som ja vyšiel od Boha.

²⁸ I came out from the Father, and have come into the world. Again, I leave the world, and go to the Father.”

²⁸Vyšiel som od Otca, a prišiel som na svet, a zase opúšťam svet a idem k Otcovi.

²⁹His disciples said to him, “Behold, now you speak plainly, and speak no figures of speech.

²⁹Vtedy mu povedali jeho učeníci: Hľa, teraz hovoríš zjavne a nehovoríš nijakého podobenstva,

³⁰Now we know that you know all things, and don’t need for anyone to question you. By this we believe that you came forth from God.”

³⁰Teraz vieme, že vieš všetko a nepotrebuješ, aby sa ťa niekto pýtal. Takto veríme, že si vyšiel od Boha.

³¹Jesus answered them, “Do you now believe?

³¹A Ježiš im odpovedal: Teraz že veríte?

³² Behold, the time is coming, yes, and has now come, that you will be scattered, everyone to his own place, and you will leave me alone. Yet I am not alone, because the Father is with me.

³²Hľa, ide hodina, a teraz už prišla, aby ste sa rozpŕchli každý do svojho vlastného a mňa zanecháte samého; ale nie som sám, pretože je so mnou Otec.

³³ I have told you these things, that in me you may have peace. In the world you have oppression; but cheer up! I have overcome the world.”

³³To som vám hovoril nato, aby ste mali vo mne pokoj. Na svete budete mať súženie, ale dúfajte, ja som premohol svet.
