²He covers himself with light as with a garment. He stretches out the heavens like a curtain.

²Odievaš sa svetlom ako rúchom; rozťahuješ nebesia, ako pokrovec,

³He lays the beams of his rooms in the waters. He makes the clouds his chariot. He walks on the wings of the wind.

³ktorý si kleníš na vodách svoje paláce; ktorý si učinil oblaky svojím vozom; ktorý sa vznášaš na krýdlach vetra;

⁴He makes his messengers or, angels winds; his servants flames of fire.

⁴ktorý robíš vetry svojimi posly, svojimi svätoslužobníkmi plápolajúci oheň.

⁵He laid the foundations of the earth, that it should not be moved forever.

⁵Založil si zem na jej stĺpoch tak, že sa nepohne na večné veky.

⁶You covered it with the deep as with a cloak. The waters stood above the mountains.

⁶Priepasťou si to všetko prikryl ako rúchom. Nad vrchami stály vody.

⁷At your rebuke they fled. At the voice of your thunder they hurried away.

⁷Od tvojho karhania zutekaly; ponáhľaly sa pred hrmotom tvojho hromu.

⁸The mountains rose, the valleys sank down, to the place which you had assigned to them.

⁸Vystúpily na vrchy; sostúpily do údolí na miesto, ktoré si im založil.

⁹You have set a boundary that they may not pass over; that they don’t turn again to cover the earth.

⁹Položil si hranice, aby neprekročily, aby sa nevrátily pokryť zem.

¹⁰He sends forth springs into the valleys. They run among the mountains.

¹³Zvlažuješ vrchy zo svojich výšin; z ovocia tvojich diel sýti sa celá zem.

¹⁴He causes the grass to grow for the livestock, and plants for man to cultivate, that he may bring forth food out of the earth:

¹⁴Dávaš, aby rástla tráva hovädu a bylina na službu človeka, aby tak vyvodil chlieb zo zeme.

¹⁵wine that makes glad the heart of man, oil to make his face to shine, and bread that strengthens man’s heart.

¹⁵A víno obveseľuje srdce smrteľného človeka, aby sa skvela tvár nad olej, a pokrm posilňuje srdce človeka.

¹⁶Yahweh’s trees are well watered, the cedars of Lebanon, which he has planted;

¹⁶Nasycujú sa stromy Hospodinove, cedry Libanona, ktoré posadil,

¹⁷where the birds make their nests. The stork makes its home in the fir trees.

¹⁷kde si vtáci robia svoje hniezda, bocian, ktorý má svoj dom na cyprusoch.

¹⁸The high mountains are for the wild goats. The rocks are a refuge for the rock badgers.

¹⁸Vysoké vrchy sú kamzíkom, skaly útočišťom zajačkom.

¹⁹He appointed the moon for seasons. The sun knows when to set.

¹⁹Učinil mesiac na určenie časov, a slnce zná svoj západ.

²⁰You make darkness, and it is night, in which all the animals of the forest prowl.

²⁰Rozkladáš tmu, a je noc, v ktorej sa hemží všetka lesná zver.

²¹The young lions roar after their prey, and seek their food from God.

²¹Ľvíčatá revú po koristi a idú hľadať svoj pokrm od silného Boha.

²²The sun rises, and they steal away, and lay down in their dens.

²²Keď vychádza slnce, zase sa shromažďujú a líhajú do svojich brlohov.

²³Man goes forth to his work, to his labor until the evening.

²³Tu zase vyjde človek po svojej práci, aby robil až do večera.

²⁴Yahweh, how many are your works! In wisdom have you made them all. The earth is full of your riches.

²⁴Jaké mnohé a veľké sú tvoje skutky, Hospodine! Všetky si múdre učinil! Zem je plná tvojho imania.

²⁵There is the sea, great and wide, in which are innumerable living things, both small and large animals.

²⁵Tu hľa, more, veľké a širošíre, kde je hmyzu bez počtu, zvierat malých i veľkých.

²⁶There the ships go, and leviathan, whom you formed to play there.

²⁶Tam chodia lode; tam i leviatán, ktorého si utvoril, aby sa v ňom hral.

²⁷These all wait for you, that you may give them their food in due season.

²⁷Všetko to tvorstvo očakáva na teba, aby si im dal pokrm, keď tomu čas.

²⁸You give to them; they gather. You open your hand; they are satisfied with good.

²⁸Keď im dávaš, sberajú; keď otváraš svoju ruku, sýtia sa dobrým.

²⁹You hide your face: they are troubled; you take away their breath: they die, and return to the dust.

²⁹Keď skrývaš svoju tvár, desia sa; keď odnímaš ich ducha, mrú a navracajú sa k svojmu prachu.

³⁰You send forth your Spirit: they are created. You renew the face of the ground.

³⁰A zase, keď posielaš svojho ducha, tvoria sa, a obnovuješ tvár zeme.

³¹Let the glory of Yahweh endure forever. Let Yahweh rejoice in his works.

³¹Nech je sláva Hospodinova na veky! Nech sa raduje Hospodin vo svojich dielach!

³²He looks at the earth, and it trembles. He touches the mountains, and they smoke.

³²Ktorý keď len pozrie na zem, trasie sa; keď sa dotkne vrchov, kúria sa.

³³I will sing to Yahweh as long as I live. I will sing praise to my God while I have any being.

³³Spievať budem Hospodinovi, dokiaľ žijem; žalmy budem spievať svojmu Bohu, kým len trvám.

³⁴Let your meditation be sweet to him. I will rejoice in Yahweh.

³⁴Nech mu je príjemné moje premýšľanie, a ja sa budem radovať v Hospodinovi.

³⁵Let sinners be consumed out of the earth. Let the wicked be no more. Bless Yahweh, my soul. Praise Yah!

³⁵Nech vyhynú hriešnici zo zeme a bezbožníci tak, aby ich už nebolo!
