1God blessed Noah and his sons, and said to them, “Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth.
1Nato blagoslovi Bog Noeta in sinove njegove ter jim reče: Rodovitni bodite in množite se ter napolnite zemljo.
2The fear of you and the dread of you will be on every animal of the earth, and on every bird of the sky. Everything that the ground teems with, and all the fish of the sea are delivered into your hand.
2In strah do vas in trepet pred vami obhajaj vse živali na zemlji in vse ptice pod nebom; vse, karkoli se giblje na suhem, in vse ribe v morju so vam dane v pest.
3Every moving thing that lives will be food for you. As the green herb, I have given everything to you.
3Vse, kar se giblje, kar je živega, bodi vam v živež; kakor zelena zelišča sem vam dal vse.
4But flesh with its life, its blood, you shall not eat.
4Vendar mesa s krvjo njegovo, ki je duša njegova, ne jejte.
5I will surely require your blood of your lives. At the hand of every animal I will require it. At the hand of man, even at the hand of every man’s brother, I will require the life of man.
5Saj bom tudi zahteval zadostitev za kri vašo, duš vaših kri, od vsake živali jo bom zahteval in od človeka, od vsakega, kdor umori brata svojega, bom zahteval dušo človekovo.
6Whoever sheds man’s blood, his blood will be shed by man, for God made man in his own image.
6Kdor prelije kri človekovo, po človeku bodi prelita kri njegova; zakaj po svoji podobi je naredil Bog človeka.
7Be fruitful and multiply. Increase abundantly in the earth, and multiply in it.”
7Vi torej bodite rodovitni in množite se, rodite obilo na zemlji in množite se po njej!
8God spoke to Noah and to his sons with him, saying,
8In govori Bog Noetu in sinovom njegovim ž njim, rekoč:
9“As for me, behold, I establish my covenant with you, and with your offspring after you,
9Glej, jaz ustanavljam z vami zavezo svojo in z vašim semenom, ki pride za vami,
10and with every living creature that is with you: the birds, the livestock, and every animal of the earth with you, of all that go out of the ship, even every animal of the earth.
10in z vsako živo stvarjo, ki je z vami, kar je ptic, živine in vseh zemeljskih živali z vami, z vsem, kar je izšlo iz ladje, in z vsemi zvermi na zemlji.
11I will establish my covenant with you: all flesh will not be cut off any more by the waters of the flood, neither will there ever again be a flood to destroy the earth.”
11Ustanavljam torej z vami zavezo svojo, in nikoli več ne bodi pokončano vse meso od vodá potopa, tudi ne bodi več potopa, da pogonobi zemljo.
12God said, “This is the token of the covenant which I make between me and you and every living creature that is with you, for perpetual generations:
12In reče Bog: To je znamenje zaveze, ki jo jaz narejam med seboj in vami in vsako živo stvarjo, ki je z vami, za neprenehljive rodove:
13I set my rainbow in the cloud, and it will be for a sign of a covenant between me and the earth.
13mavro svojo sem razpel na oblačju, katera bodi v znamenje med menoj in zemljo.
14It will happen, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the rainbow will be seen in the cloud,
14In zgodi se, ko z oblaki prevlečem zemljo in se prikaže mavra na oblačju,
15and I will remember my covenant, which is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh, and the waters will no more become a flood to destroy all flesh.
15da se spomnim zaveze svoje, ki je med menoj in vami in vsako živo stvarjo od vsakršnega mesa: in ne bode več vodá v potop, v pokončanje vsega mesa.
16The rainbow will be in the cloud. I will look at it, that I may remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is on the earth.”
16Kajti ko bode mavra na oblačju, se ozrem vanjo ter se spomnim večne zaveze med Bogom in vsako živo stvarjo od vsakršnega mesa, ki bode na zemlji.
17God said to Noah, “This is the token of the covenant which I have established between me and all flesh that is on the earth.”
17In reče Bog Noetu: To je znamenje zaveze, ki sem jo ustanovil med seboj in vsem mesom, ki biva na zemlji.
18The sons of Noah who went out from the ship were Shem, Ham, and Japheth. Ham is the father of Canaan.
18In sinovi Noetovi, ki so izšli iz ladje, so bili: Sem in Ham in Jafet; Ham pa je oče Kanaanov.
19These three were the sons of Noah, and from these, the whole earth was populated.
19Ti trije so bili sinovi Noetovi, in od teh se je naselila vsa zemlja.
20Noah began to be a farmer, and planted a vineyard.
20In Noe je začel obdelovati zemljo, in zasadi vinograd;
21He drank of the wine and got drunk. He was uncovered within his tent.
21in ko pije od vina njegovega, se upijani ter se razodene sredi šatora svojega.
22Ham, the father of Canaan, saw the nakedness of his father, and told his two brothers outside.
22Ham pa, oče Kanaanov, zagleda nagoto očeta svojega ter pove dvema bratoma svojima odzunaj.
23Shem and Japheth took a garment, and laid it on both their shoulders, went in backwards, and covered the nakedness of their father. Their faces were backwards, and they didn’t see their father’s nakedness.
23Sem pa vzame z Jafetom plašč njegov in ga zadeneta na rame svoje in nazaj obrnjena gresta ter pokrijeta ž njim očeta svojega nagoto; in obličje jima je bilo nazaj obrnjeno, da nista videla očeta svojega nagote.
24Noah awoke from his wine, and knew what his youngest son had done to him.
24Ko pa se je prebudil Noe iz vina svojega, zve, kaj mu je bil storil njegov najmlajši sin,
25He said, “Canaan is cursed. He will be servant of servants to his brothers.”
25in reče: Proklet bodi Kanaan; hlapcev hlapec bodi bratom svojim!
26He said, “Blessed be Yahweh, the God of Shem. Let Canaan be his servant.
26Še reče: Hvaljen GOSPOD, Bog Semov, in Kanaan mu bodi hlapec!
27May God enlarge Japheth. Let him dwell in the tents of Shem. Let Canaan be his servant.”
27Razširi naj Bog Jafeta, in naj prebiva v šatorih Semovih, in Kanaan mu bodi hlapec!
28Noah lived three hundred fifty years after the flood.
28Živel pa je Noe po potopu tristo petdeset let.In bilo je vseh dni Noetovih devetsto petdeset let, in je umrl.
29All the days of Noah were nine hundred fifty years, then he died.
29In bilo je vseh dni Noetovih devetsto petdeset let, in je umrl.
