¹ Jude, or, Judah a servant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James, to those who are called, sanctified by God the Father, and kept for Jesus Christ:

¹Juda, Jezusa Kristusa hlapec, a brat Jakobov, poklicanim, v Bogu Očetu ljubljenim in za Jezusa Kristusa hranjenim:

²Mercy to you and peace and love be multiplied.

²Usmiljenje vam in mir in ljubezen naj se pomnoži!

³Beloved, while I was very eager to write to you about our common salvation, I was constrained to write to you exhorting you to contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints.

³Ljubljeni, ko sem si mnogo prizadeval, pisati vam v skupnem nam zveličanju, se mi je potrebno videlo, pisati vam opominjaje, da se vrlo borite za vero, ki je enkrat za vselej izročena svetim.

⁴For there are certain men who crept in secretly, even those who were long ago written about for this condemnation: ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into indecency, and denying our only Master, God, and Lord, Jesus Christ.

⁴Kajti priplazili so se neki ljudje, zdavnaj naprej zapisani za to sodbo, brezbožni, ki milost Boga našega krivo rabijo v razuzdanost in taje edinega Vladarja in Gospoda našega, Jezusa Kristusa.

⁵Now I desire to remind you, though you already know this, that the Lord, having saved a people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed those who didn’t believe.

⁵Spomniti pa vas hočem, čeprav zdaj vse to že veste, da je Gospod, ko je rešil ljudstvo iz dežele Egiptovske, pozneje pogubil tiste, ki niso verovali.

⁶Angels who didn’t keep their first domain, but deserted their own dwelling place, he has kept in everlasting bonds under darkness for the judgment of the great day.

⁶In angele, ki niso hranili poglavarstva svojega, temuč so zapustili lastno domovje, je shranil za sodbo velikega dneva z večnimi vezmi pod temo.

⁷Even as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities around them, having, in the same way as these, given themselves over to sexual immorality and gone after strange flesh, are set forth as an example, suffering the punishment of eternal fire.

⁹But Michael, the archangel, when contending with the devil and arguing about the body of Moses, dared not bring against him an abusive condemnation, but said, “May the Lord rebuke you!”

⁹Mihael pa, nadangel, ko se je s hudičem prepiral in prerekal o truplu Mojzesovem, si ni upal izreči sodbe preklinjevanja, marveč je rekel: Kaznuj te Gospod!

¹⁰But these speak evil of whatever things they don’t know. What they understand naturally, like the creatures without reason, they are destroyed in these things.

¹⁰Ti pa preklinjajo, česarkoli ne vedo; kar pa po naravi znajo, kakor nespametne živali, v tem se pogubljajo.

¹¹Woe to them! For they went in the way of Cain, and ran riotously in the error of Balaam for hire, and perished in Korah’s rebellion.

¹¹Gorje jim! ker so hodili po potu Kajnovem in so zabredli v zmoto Balaamovo zaradi plačila in so poginili v Korejevem uporu.

¹²These are hidden rocky reefs in your love feasts when they feast with you, shepherds who without fear feed themselves; clouds without water, carried along by winds; autumn leaves without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots;

¹²Ti so pri bratovskih pojedinah vaših zapreke, ko se goste z vami in brez strahu sami sebe paso; so oblaki brez vode, ki jih gonijo vetrovi, drevesa poznojesenska, brez sadu, dvakrat mrtva, izkoreninjena;

¹³wild waves of the sea, foaming out their own shame; wandering stars, for whom the blackness of darkness has been reserved forever.

¹³divji morski valovi, ki izpenjavajo lastno sramoto; zvezde tavajoče, katerim je mrak teme shranjen vekomaj.

¹⁴About these also Enoch, the seventh from Adam, prophesied, saying, “Behold, the Lord came with ten thousands of his holy ones,

¹⁴Prorokoval je pa tudi tem sedmi od Adama, Enoh, govoreč: Glej, prišel je Gospod z miriadami svetih svojih,

¹⁵to execute judgment on all, and to convict all the ungodly of all their works of ungodliness which they have done in an ungodly way, and of all the hard things which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.”

¹⁵izvršit sodbo nad vsemi in kaznovat vse brezbožne za vsa dela brezbožnosti, ki so jih brezbožno storili, in za vse trde besede, ki so jih govorili zoper njega grešniki brezbožni.

¹⁶These are murmurers and complainers, walking after their lusts (and their mouth speaks proud things), showing respect of persons to gain advantage.

¹⁶Ti so godrnjači, pritoževalci, ki hodijo po svojih poželenjih, in usta njih govore šopirno, občudujoč osebe zaradi koristi.

¹⁷But you, beloved, remember the words which have been spoken before by the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ.

¹⁷Vi pa, ljubljeni, spominjajte se besed, ki so jih naprej govorili apostoli Gospoda našega Jezusa Kristusa, da so vam rekli:

¹⁸They said to you that “In the last time there will be mockers, walking after their own ungodly lusts.”

¹⁸V zadnjem času bodo posmehovalci, živeči po svojih poželenjih brezbožnosti.

¹⁹These are they who cause divisions, and are sensual, not having the Spirit.

¹⁹Ti so, ki napravljajo razkole, živinski, ne imajoč duha.

²⁰But you, beloved, keep building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit.

²⁰Vi pa, ljubljeni, sezidavajte se na presveti veri svoji in molite v svetem Duhu,

²¹Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to eternal life.

²¹ohranite se v ljubezni Božji, pričakujte usmiljenja Gospoda našega Jezusa Kristusa, za večno življenje!

²²On some have compassion, making a distinction,

²²In nekatere prepričujte, ki so v dvomih;

²³and some save, snatching them out of the fire with fear, hating even the clothing stained by the flesh.

²³nekatere pa rešite, potegnivši jih iz ognja, nekatere pa s strahom milujte, sovražeč tudi obleko, oskrunjeno po mesu.

²⁴Now to him who is able to keep them TR and NU read “you” from stumbling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory in great joy,

²⁴Njemu pa, ki vas more obvarovati brez spotike in postaviti pred obličje slave svoje brez madeža v radovanju,edinemu Bogu, Rešitelju našemu, po Jezusu Kristusu Gospodu našem slava, veličastvo, moč in oblast pred vsem časom in zdaj in na vse veke! Amen.

²⁵to God our Savior, who alone is wise, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and forever. Amen.

²⁵edinemu Bogu, Rešitelju našemu, po Jezusu Kristusu Gospodu našem slava, veličastvo, moč in oblast pred vsem časom in zdaj in na vse veke! Amen.
