¹Slavi, duša moja, GOSPODA! GOSPOD, Bog moj, velik si silno, lepoto in veličastvo si oblekel;

²He covers himself with light as with a garment. He stretches out the heavens like a curtain.

²ogrinjaš se s svetlobo kakor z obleko, nebesa razpenjaš kakor šator.

³He lays the beams of his rooms in the waters. He makes the clouds his chariot. He walks on the wings of the wind.

³Kateri stavi v vodah tramovje hramov svojih, ki nareja oblake za voz svoj, ki hodi po vetrov perutih,

⁴He makes his messengers or, angels winds; his servants flames of fire.

⁴ki dela vetrove za poslance svoje, za služabnike svoje ogenj plamteči.

⁵He laid the foundations of the earth, that it should not be moved forever.

⁵Postavil je zemljo na podstave njene, da se ne gane na večne čase.

⁶You covered it with the deep as with a cloak. The waters stood above the mountains.

⁶Z valovjem si jo ogrnil kakor z odejo, čez gore so stale vode.

⁷At your rebuke they fled. At the voice of your thunder they hurried away.

⁷Na karanje tvoje so pobegnile, pred groma tvojega glasom so urno bežale –

⁸The mountains rose, the valleys sank down, to the place which you had assigned to them.

⁸dvignile so se gore, pogreznile se doline – na mesto, katero si jim bil ustanovil.

⁹You have set a boundary that they may not pass over; that they don’t turn again to cover the earth.

⁹Mejo si jim postavil, da je ne prestopijo, da se ne povrnejo pokrit zemljo.

¹⁰He sends forth springs into the valleys. They run among the mountains.

¹⁰Ti izpuščaš studence po dolinah, da tečejo med gorami;

¹¹They give drink to every animal of the field. The wild donkeys quench their thirst.

¹¹napajajo vse poljske živali, žejo svojo si gasé divji osli.

¹²The birds of the sky nest by them. They sing among the branches.

¹²Poleg njih prebivajo ptice nebeške, glasijo se izmed vej.

¹³He waters the mountains from his rooms. The earth is filled with the fruit of your works.

¹³On namaka gore iz hramov svojih, s sadom del tvojih se siti zemlja.

¹⁴He causes the grass to grow for the livestock, and plants for man to cultivate, that he may bring forth food out of the earth:

¹⁴On daje, da raste trava živini in zelišče človeku v rabo, da si pripravi hrano iz zemlje,

¹⁵wine that makes glad the heart of man, oil to make his face to shine, and bread that strengthens man’s heart.

¹⁵in vino, ki razveseljuje srce človeku, in olje, ki svetel nareja obraz, in kruh, ki podpira srce človeku.

¹⁶Yahweh’s trees are well watered, the cedars of Lebanon, which he has planted;

¹⁶Siti se drevje GOSPODOVO, cedre na Libanonu, ki jih je vsadil,

¹⁷where the birds make their nests. The stork makes its home in the fir trees.

¹⁷kjer gnezdijo ptički, tudi štorklja, ki ima hišo svojo na jelkah.

¹⁸The high mountains are for the wild goats. The rocks are a refuge for the rock badgers.

¹⁸Gore visoke so divjim kozlom, pečine skalnim jazbecem prebivališče.

¹⁹He appointed the moon for seasons. The sun knows when to set.

¹⁹Naredil je mesec, da meri čase, in solnce, ki pozna zahod svoj.

²⁰You make darkness, and it is night, in which all the animals of the forest prowl.

²⁰Temo narejaš, da je noč, tedaj so vse gozdne živali pokonci:

²¹The young lions roar after their prey, and seek their food from God.

²¹mladi levi rjovejo za plenom in zahtevajo od Boga mogočnega hrane svoje.

²²The sun rises, and they steal away, and lay down in their dens.

²²Ko izhaja solnce, se poskrijejo in ležé v brlogih svojih.

²³Man goes forth to his work, to his labor until the evening.

²³Človek pa gre na delo svoje in po opravilu svojem do večera.

²⁴Yahweh, how many are your works! In wisdom have you made them all. The earth is full of your riches.

²⁴Kako mnogotera so dela tvoja, o GOSPOD, v modrosti si jih naredil vsa, polna je zemlja stvorov tvojih!

²⁵There is the sea, great and wide, in which are innumerable living things, both small and large animals.

²⁵Ondi morje, veliko in prostrano, v njem je laznine brez števila, živali velikih in malih.

²⁶There the ships go, and leviathan, whom you formed to play there.

²⁶Tod hodijo ladje in leviatan, ki si ga ustvaril, naj se v njem igra.

²⁷These all wait for you, that you may give them their food in due season.

²⁷Vse to čaka tebe, da jim daš njih živeža o svojem času.

²⁸You give to them; they gather. You open your hand; they are satisfied with good.

²⁸Kadar jim daješ, pobirajo, odpreš jim roko svojo, in sitijo se z dobrotami.

²⁹You hide your face: they are troubled; you take away their breath: they die, and return to the dust.

²⁹Kadar jim skriješ obličje svoje, se prestrašijo; vzameš jim sapo, in ginejo ter se povračajo v prah svoj.

³⁰You send forth your Spirit: they are created. You renew the face of the ground.

³⁰Pošiljaš sapo svojo in jih spet ustvarjaš, in tako obličje obnavljaš zemlji.

³¹Let the glory of Yahweh endure forever. Let Yahweh rejoice in his works.

³¹Slava GOSPODOVA traja naj vekomaj! Veseli se naj GOSPOD v delih svojih!

³²He looks at the earth, and it trembles. He touches the mountains, and they smoke.

³²Ko pogleda na zemljo, se trese ona, ko se dotakne gorá, se kadé.

³³I will sing to Yahweh as long as I live. I will sing praise to my God while I have any being.

³³Pel bom GOSPODU vse svoje žive dni, psalme prepeval Bogu svojemu, dokler bodem živ.

³⁴Let your meditation be sweet to him. I will rejoice in Yahweh.

³⁴O da bi mu bilo prijetno premišljevanje moje! Jaz se hočem radovati v GOSPODU.Izginejo naj grešniki z zemlje in brezbožnikov več ne bodi! Slavi, duša moja, GOSPODA! Aleluja!

³⁵Let sinners be consumed out of the earth. Let the wicked be no more. Bless Yahweh, my soul. Praise Yah!
