1 Corinthians

13

1If I speak with the languages of men and of angels, but don’t have love, I have become sounding brass, or a clanging cymbal.
1 D'ay ga salaŋ da Adam-izey da malaykey deeney, day ay sinda baakasinay, ay ciya danga guuru-say kaŋ ga hẽ, wala can-caŋ kaŋ ga kosongu.
2If I have the gift of prophecy, and know all mysteries and all knowledge; and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but don’t have love, I am nothing.
2 Baa d'ay du annabitaray nooyaŋ, hal ay ga gundu kulu nda bayray kulu bay mo, d'ay gonda cimbeeri kulu hal ay ga tondi kuukuyaŋ ganandi, nga no ay sinda baakasinay, ay ya yaamo no.
3If I dole out all my goods to feed the poor, and if I give my body to be burned, but don’t have love, it profits me nothing.
3 Baa d'ay n'ay arzaka kulu fay ka zaban alfukaarey se, d'ay g'ay gaahamo no mo hal i m'a ton, nga no ay sinda baakasinay, a si hay kulu hanse ay se.
4Love is patient and is kind; love doesn’t envy. Love doesn’t brag, is not proud,
4 Baakasinay ga bara nda suuru kuuku, baakasinay gonda rongome. Baakasinay si canse. A si fooma, a si te boŋbeeray mo.
5doesn’t behave itself inappropriately, doesn’t seek its own way, is not provoked, takes no account of evil;
5 Baakasinay si te haŋ kaŋ mana hagu, a si nga boŋ nafa ceeci, a baa si nda zukkuyaŋ, a si laala lasaabu.
6doesn’t rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth;
6 Baakasinay si farhã da cimi-jaŋay, amma a ga farhã cimi se.
7bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
7 Baakasinay gonda bongu-daabay hay kulu ra, a ga ihanno cimandi hay kulu ra, a ga beeje hay kulu se, a ga suuru nda hay kulu.
8Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will be done away with. Where there are various languages, they will cease. Where there is knowledge, it will be done away with.
8 Baakasinay si gaze abada. Amma annabitarayey ga ban, ciine waani-waaney ga ban, bayray mo ga ban.
9For we know in part, and we prophesy in part;
9 Zama iri ga bay kayna, iri ga annabitaray jare te.
10but when that which is complete has come, then that which is partial will be done away with.
10 Amma waati kaŋ toonanta ga kaa, gaa no jare-jara ga ban.
11When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I felt as a child, I thought as a child. Now that I have become a man, I have put away childish things.
11 Waato kaŋ ay go zanka, ay go ga salaŋ sanda zanka cine, ay go ga miila sanda zanka cine, ay go ga lasaabu sanda zanka cine. Amma sohõ kaŋ ay te albeeri, ay na zankataray harey jisi.
12For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I will know fully, even as I was also fully known.
13But now faith, hope, and love remain—these three. The greatest of these is love.
13 Sohõ binde cimbeeri da beeje da baakasinay, ihinza din no ka bara. Amma i ra wo kaŋ bisa ikulu ga ti baakasinay.
