1After these things, and this faithfulness, Sennacherib king of Assyria came, and entered into Judah, and encamped against the fortified cities, and thought to win them for himself.
1 Naanay goy woodin banda, Assiriya bonkoono Sennakerib kaa ka furo Yahuda ra. A na galley kaŋ yaŋ gonda wongu cinarey kulu windi nda wongu margayaŋ. A ga tammahã hala nga ga du ey nga boŋ se.
2When Hezekiah saw that Sennacherib had come, and that he was purposed to fight against Jerusalem,
2 Waato kaŋ Hezeciya di Sennakerib kaa, a gonda anniya mo nga ma Urusalima wongu,
3he took counsel with his princes and his mighty men to stop the waters of the springs which were outside of the city; and they helped him.
3 a binde saaware nda nga mayraykoyey da soojey i ma birno banda hari-moy lutu. I n'a gaa mo.
4So many people gathered together, and they stopped all the springs, and the brook that flowed through the midst of the land, saying, “Why should the kings of Assyria come, and find much water?”
4 Borey binde margu, iboobo. I na hari-moy, da hari zuro kaŋ ga gana laabo bindo ra lutu, zama i ne: «Ifo se no Assiriya bonkooney ga kaa ka hari boobo gar?»
5He took courage, and built up all the wall that was broken down, and raised it up to the towers, and the other wall outside, and strengthened Millo in the city of David, and made weapons and shields in abundance.
6He set captains of war over the people, and gathered them together to him in the broad place at the gate of the city, and spoke comfortably to them, saying,
6 A na wongu jine boroyaŋ daŋ jama jine. A n'i margu nga jine noodin birni meyo batama ra. A n'i gaabandi nda himma daŋyaŋ sanni ka ne:
7“Be strong and courageous, don’t be afraid nor dismayed for the king of Assyria, nor for all the multitude who is with him; for there is a greater with us than with him.
8With him is an arm of flesh; but with us is Yahweh our God to help us, and to fight our battles.” The people rested themselves on the words of Hezekiah king of Judah.
8 Gaaham hin go a banda, amma iri do iri gonda Rabbi iri Irikoyo kaŋ g'iri gaa, nga kaŋ ga wongu iri se.» Jama mo de Yahuda bonkoono Hezeciya sanno gaa.
9After this, Sennacherib king of Assyria sent his servants to Jerusalem, (now he was before Lachish, and all his power with him), to Hezekiah king of Judah, and to all Judah who were at Jerusalem, saying,
9 Woodin banda no Assiriya bonkoono Sennakerib na nga tamey donton i ma koy Urusalima (zama a go Lacis jine nda nga wongu gaabo kulu nga banda.) A donton Yahuda bonkoono Hezeciya da Yahuda kulu gaa kaŋ go Urusalima ra ka ne:
10Thus says Sennacherib king of Assyria, “In whom do you trust, that you remain under siege in Jerusalem?
10 «Yaa no Assiriya bonkoono Sennakerib ci: Ifo gaa no araŋ goono ga jeeri, kaŋ araŋ goono ga hangan Urusalima gallo ra hala wongu windiyaŋ ma kaa?
11Doesn’t Hezekiah persuade you, to give you over to die by famine and by thirst, saying, ‘Yahweh our God will deliver us out of the hand of the king of Assyria?’
Zama a goono ga ne: ‹Rabbi iri Irikoyo g'iri faaba Assiriya bonkoono kambe ra!›
12Hasn’t the same Hezekiah taken away his high places and his altars, and commanded Judah and Jerusalem, saying, ‘You shall worship before one altar, and on it you shall burn incense?’
12 Manti Hezeciya bumbo no ka Rabbi sududuyaŋ harey d'a feemey sambu, ka Yahuda da Urusalima lordi ka ne: Wa sududu feema folloŋ jine, a boŋ mo no araŋ ga dugu ton.
13Don’t you know what I and my fathers have done to all the peoples of the lands? Were the gods of the nations of the lands in any way able to deliver their land out of my hand?
13 Araŋ si bay haŋ kaŋ in d'ay kaayey te ndunnya dumey laabey kulu se bo? Ndunnya dumey de-koyey hin ka ngey laabey kaa ay kamba ra no?
14Who was there among all the gods of those nations which my fathers utterly destroyed, that could deliver his people out of my hand, that your God should be able to deliver you out of my hand?
14 May no ndunnya dumey kulu ra kaŋ yaŋ ay kaayey halaci parkatak, wo kaŋ a de-koyo hin ka nga borey faaba ay kambe ra, sanku fa araŋ Irikoyo ma hin k'araŋ faaba ay kambe ra?
15Now therefore don’t let Hezekiah deceive you, nor persuade you in this way, neither believe him; for no god of any nation or kingdom was able to deliver his people out of my hand, and out of the hand of my fathers. How much less will your God deliver you out of my hand?”
15 Sohõ binde, wa si naŋ Hezeciya m'araŋ fafagu, wala a m'araŋ darandi ya-cine!
16His servants spoke yet more against Yahweh God, and against his servant Hezekiah.
16 Hala nd'a tamey ngey mo i soobay ka Rabbi Irikoy d'a tamo Hezeciya wow.
17He also wrote letters insulting Yahweh, the God of Israel, and to speak against him, saying, “As the gods of the nations of the lands, which have not delivered their people out of my hand, so shall the God of Hezekiah not deliver his people out of my hand.”
17 A na tirayaŋ hantum mo ka Rabbi, Israyla Irikoyo wow. A goono ga salaŋ ka gaaba nd'a ka ne: «Sanda mate kaŋ cine ndunnya dumey laabey de-koyey mana ngey borey faaba ay kambe ra, yaadin cine no Hezeciya de-koyo mo si nga borey faaba ay kambe ra.»
18They cried with a loud voice in the Jews’ language to the people of Jerusalem who were on the wall, to frighten them, and to trouble them; that they might take the city.
18 I ce da jinde beeri mo Urusalima borey gaa Yahudance ciine ra, borey kaŋ go goro birni cinaro boŋ yaŋ gaa, zama ngey m'i humburandi, ngey ma du ka gallo ŋwa mo.
19They spoke of the God of Jerusalem, as of the gods of the peoples of the earth, which are the work of men’s hands.
19 I salaŋ Urusalima Irikoyo boŋ danga ndunnya dumey toorey kaŋ borey kambey te cine.
20Hezekiah the king, and Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz, prayed because of this, and cried to heaven.
21Yahweh sent an angel, who cut off all the mighty men of valor, and the leaders and captains, in the camp of the king of Assyria. So he returned with shame of face to his own land. When he had come into the house of his god, those who came forth from his own bowels killed him there with the sword.
Waato kaŋ a furo nga tooro windo ra mo, a izey kaŋ yaŋ a hay mo n'a wi da takuba noodin.
22Thus Yahweh saved Hezekiah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem from the hand of Sennacherib the king of Assyria, and from the hand of all others, and guided them on every side.
22 Yaadin cine no Rabbi na Hezeciya nda Urusalima jama kulu faaba nd'a, Assiriya bonkoono Sennakerib kambe ra, da ibare cindey kulu kambe ra mo. A n'i gaakasinay kuray kulu haray.
23Many brought gifts to Yahweh to Jerusalem, and precious things to Hezekiah king of Judah; so that he was exalted in the sight of all nations from thenceforth.
Yaadin cine binde no a beeri nd'a dumi cindey kulu diyaŋ gaa za alwaati woodin.
24In those days Hezekiah was sick even to death: and he prayed to Yahweh; and he spoke to him, and gave him a sign.
A na adduwa te Rabbi gaa mo. Rabbi mo salaŋ a se k'a no alaama mo.
25But Hezekiah didn’t render again according to the benefit done to him; for his heart was lifted up: therefore there was wrath on him, and on Judah and Jerusalem.
26Notwithstanding Hezekiah humbled himself for the pride of his heart, both he and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, so that the wrath of Yahweh didn’t come on them in the days of Hezekiah.
26 Amma Hezeciya na nga boŋ kaynandi boŋbeera kaŋ a te din se, nga nda Urusalima gorokoy, hala Rabbi dukuro mana kaŋ i boŋ Hezeciya zamana ra.
27Hezekiah had exceeding much riches and honor: and he provided him treasuries for silver, and for gold, and for precious stones, and for spices, and for shields, and for all kinds of goodly vessels;
27 Hezeciya wo binde gonda arzaka nda darza gumo.
28storehouses also for the increase of grain and new wine and oil; and stalls for all kinds of animals, and flocks in folds.
29Moreover he provided him cities, and possessions of flocks and herds in abundance; for God had given him very much substance.
29 A du mo galluyaŋ, da feeji da haw yulwante yaŋ, zama Irikoy n'a no jinay boobo.
30This same Hezekiah also stopped the upper spring of the waters of Gihon, and brought them straight down on the west side of the city of David. Hezekiah prospered in all his works.
30 Nga, Hezeciya wo, a na hari-mwa kaŋ go beene din lutu, wo kaŋ ga kande hari Jihon do. A n'i candi fondo kayante ra Dawda birno se wayna kaŋay haray. Hezeciya te albarka mo nga goyey kulu ra.
31However concerning the ambassadors of the princes of Babylon, who sent to him to inquire of the wonder that was done in the land, God left him, to try him, that he might know all that was in his heart.
31 Amma Babila diyey sanno ra, ngey kaŋ yaŋ i donton a gaa zama ngey ma maa dambara hari kaŋ te laabo ra din baaru, Irikoy na Hezeciya naŋ, zama nga m'a si, nga ma bay hay kulu kaŋ go a bina ra mo.
32Now the rest of the acts of Hezekiah, and his good deeds, behold, they are written in the vision of Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz, in the book of the kings of Judah and Israel.
32 Hezeciya goy cindey mo, d'a Irikoy ganayaŋ goyey, ngey neeya, i n'i hantum annabi Isaya Amoz ize bangando ra, da Yahuda da Israyla bonkooney tira ra.
33Hezekiah slept with his fathers, and they buried him in the ascent of the tombs of the sons of David: and all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem did him honor at his death. Manasseh his son reigned in his place.
33 Hezeciya kani mo nga kaayey banda. I n'a fiji Dawda izey saarayey tudo gaa. Yahuda kulu da Urusalima gorokoy mo n'a darzandi a buuyaŋo waate. A izo Manasse mo te bonkooni a nango ra.
