1The word of Yahweh came to me, saying,
1 Kala Rabbi sanno kaa ay do ka ne:
2Son of man, put forth a riddle, and speak a parable to the house of Israel;
2 Boro izo, ma yaasay te ka misa sanni ci Israyla dumo se ka ne:
3and say, Thus says the Lord Yahweh: A great eagle with great wings and long feathers, full of feathers, which had various colors, came to Lebanon, and took the top of the cedar:
3 Yaa no Rabbi, Koy Beero ci: Zeeban bambata fo kaŋ fatey ga beeri, a gonda hamni kuukuyaŋ, a gaahamo kulu ga to mo da hamni dumi kulu, a kaa Liban ka sedre* nyaŋo boŋo dagu.
4he cropped off the topmost of the young twigs of it, and carried it to a land of traffic; he set it in a city of merchants.
4 A na kambe kayne fo kaŋ go boŋo gaa mo pati. A n'a sambu ka kond'a laabu fo kaŋ gonda day da neera k'a tilam noodin dillaŋey gallo ra.
5He took also of the seed of the land, and planted it in a fruitful soil; he placed it beside many waters; he set it as a willow tree.
5 A n'a dumi ize sambu mo laabo din ra, k'a duma laabu albarkante ra, hari boobo me gaa no a n'a tilam. A n'a sinji sanda kuubu nya.
6It grew, and became a spreading vine of low stature, whose branches turned toward him, and its roots were under him: so it became a vine, and brought forth branches, and shot forth sprigs.
6 A beeri mo, hal a ciya tikse dunguriyo kaŋ ga daaru, a kambey go ga guna zeebano do haray, a kaajey mo go a cire. Yaadin cine no a ciya reyzin tikse. A na deeneyaŋ kaa, a zay mo ka te kambeyaŋ.
7There was also another great eagle with great wings and many feathers: and behold, this vine bent its roots toward him, and shot forth its branches toward him, from the beds of its plantation, that he might water it.
7 Amma zeeban bambata fo mo go no koyne kaŋ gonda fata bambatayaŋ, a hamno mo iboobo no. Kala tuuri tiksa din na nga kaajey salle ka koy zeebano din do. Tuuro na nga kambey mo salle ka koy a do haray noodin laabo ra, nango kaŋ i n'a tilam din, zama zeebano din ma nga haŋandi.
8It was planted in a good soil by many waters, that it might bring forth branches, and that it might bear fruit, that it might be a goodly vine.
8 A go mo laabu hanno ra, naŋ kaŋ hari boobo go, hala nga ma te kambe boobo se, nga ma hay, nga ma ciya tikse hanno.
9Say, Thus says the Lord Yahweh: Shall it prosper? shall he not pull up its roots, and cut off its fruit, that it may wither; that all its fresh springing leaves may wither? and not by a strong arm or many people can it be raised from its roots.
9 Ni binde ma ne: Yaa no Rabbi, Koy Beero ci: A ga te albarka, wala? Manti i g'a dagu no k'a kaajey kaa? Manti i g'a izey pati hal i ma lakaw se, hal a kobtey kulu kaŋ go ga zay ma lakaw? Manti gaabi beeri wala jama boobo no i ga laami k'a dagu za kaajey gaa bo.
10Yes, behold, being planted, shall it prosper? shall it not utterly wither, when the east wind touches it? it shall wither in the beds where it grew.
10 A go, baa i ye k'a tilam, a ga te albarka, wala? Manti a ga lakaw no waati kaŋ wayna funay haray haw n'a faaru? A ga lakaw noodin, ganda, nango kaŋ a beeri din.
11Moreover the word of Yahweh came to me, saying,
11 Rabbi sanno ye ka kaa ay do koyne ka ne:
12Say now to the rebellious house, Don’t you know what these things mean? tell them, Behold, the king of Babylon came to Jerusalem, and took its king, and its princes, and brought them to him to Babylon:
12 Sohõ kala ni ma ci dumo wo kaŋ ga murte se ka ne: Araŋ mana muraado wo feerijo bay no? Ma ne i se: A go, Babila bonkoono kaa Urusalima k'a bonkoono d'a mayraykoyey di ka kond'ey nga do, noodin Babila.
13and he took of the seed royal, and made a covenant with him; he also brought him under an oath, and took away the mighty of the land;
13 A na afolloŋ sambu koytaray banda ra, a sappa nd'a, a n'a daŋ zeyaŋ mo. A na laabo boro beerey kaŋ gonda hina yaŋ ganandi mo,
14that the kingdom might be base, that it might not lift itself up, but that by keeping his covenant it might stand.
14 zama nga ma mayra kaynandi, a ma si nga boŋ tunandi, amma a sappa haggoyyaŋ do a ma kay.
15But he rebelled against him in sending his ambassadors into Egypt, that they might give him horses and many people. Shall he prosper? shall he escape who does such things? shall he break the covenant, and yet escape?
15 Amma nga, koy-izo din murte Babila bonkoono gaa, zama a na nga diyayaŋ donton Misira no, i ma nga no bariyaŋ da gaakasinay boro boobo. A ga te albarka, wala? Day woodin yaŋ dumi teeko ga yana no? A ma sappa daaru, kulu nda yaadin a ga du ka yana no?
16As I live, says the Lord Yahweh, surely in the place where the king dwells who made him king, whose oath he despised, and whose covenant he broke, even with him in the midst of Babylon he shall die.
16 Ay ze d'ay fundo, ay, Rabbi, Koy Beero, nango kaŋ bonkoono kaŋ i daŋ koytara doŋ bara ga goro, nga kaŋ donda nga zeyaŋo din, a n'a sappa daaru mo, daahir a do no a ga bu Babila bindo ra.
17Neither shall Pharaoh with his mighty army and great company help him in the war, when they cast up mounds and build forts, to cut off many persons.
17 Zama baa Firawna nda nga wongu marga beerey d'a jama booba kulu si hin ka gaakasinay fo te a se wongu woone ra, waato kaŋ ibare ga laabu gusam, i ma wongu cinari te zama i ma fundi boobo kaa se.
18For he has despised the oath by breaking the covenant; and behold, he had given his hand, and yet has done all these things; he shall not escape.
18 Zama a donda zeyaŋo sappe daaruyaŋ do. A go, a na sarti sambu, kulu nda yaadin a na muraadey wo dumiyaŋ te. A si du ka yana bo.
19Therefore thus says the Lord Yahweh: As I live, surely my oath that he has despised, and my covenant that he has broken, I will even bring it on his own head.
19 Yaa no Rabbi, Koy Beero ci: Woodin sabbay se, ay ze d'ay fundo, ay zeyaŋo kaŋ a dond'a, d'ay sappa kaŋ a daaru mo, daahir no ay g'a candi ka kande a boŋo boŋ.
20I will spread my net on him, and he shall be taken in my snare, and I will bring him to Babylon, and will enter into judgment with him there for his trespass that he has trespassed against me.
20 Ay g'ay wufa daaru a boŋ k'a di ay korfo hirrimo ra, ay ma kand'a Babila. Noodin no ay ga ciiti nd'a, naanay feeriyaŋo kaŋ a te ay se din wane.
21All his fugitives in all his bands shall fall by the sword, and those who remain shall be scattered toward every wind: and you shall know that I, Yahweh, have spoken it.
21 Borey kaŋ ga zuru a wongu marga ra, takuba g'i zeeri. Borey kaŋ yaŋ ga cindi mo, i g'i say-say kuray kulu. Araŋ ga bay mo kaŋ ay wo, Rabbi no ka salaŋ.
22Thus says the Lord Yahweh: I will also take of the lofty top of the cedar, and will set it; I will crop off from the topmost of its young twigs a tender one, and I will plant it on a high and lofty mountain:
22 Yaa no Rabbi, Koy Beero ci: Ay mo ga tuuri kambe kayna fo sambu sedre yollo gaa, ay m'a tilam. A boŋo gaa kambe kayney ra mo ay ga ibaano fo kaa, y'a tilam tondi darzakoy kuuku fo boŋ.
23in the mountain of the height of Israel will I plant it; and it shall bring forth boughs, and bear fruit, and be a goodly cedar: and under it shall dwell all birds of every wing; in the shade of its branches shall they dwell.
23 Israyla tondi kuuku fo boŋ no ay g'a tilam. A ga te kambeyaŋ ka izeyaŋ hay, a ma ciya sedre nya hanno. Curo fatakoy dumi kulu ga kaa ka fata kaa a cire, i ga goro a kambey biyo cire.
24All the trees of the field shall know that I, Yahweh, have brought down the high tree, have exalted the low tree, have dried up the green tree, and have made the dry tree to flourish; I, Yahweh, have spoken and have done it.
