Ezekiel

18

1The word of Yahweh came to me again, saying,
1 Rabbi sanno ye ka kaa ay do ka ne:
2What do you mean, that you use this proverb concerning the land of Israel, saying, The fathers have eaten sour grapes, and the children’s teeth are set on edge?
2 Ifo no araŋ goono ga miila, kaŋ araŋ goono ga yaasay woone te Israyla laabo boŋ, araŋ goono ga ne: «Baabey na reyzin ize gani ŋwa, amma izey hinjey no ka bu.»
3As I live, says the Lord Yahweh, you shall not have occasion any more to use this proverb in Israel.
4Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul who sins, he shall die.
4 Zama guna, fundey kulu ay wane yaŋ no. Mate kaŋ cine baaba fundi ya ay wane no, yaadin cine no ize fundi mo bara. Fundikooni kaŋ na zunubi te mo, nga no ga bu.
5But if a man is just, and does that which is lawful and right,
5 Amma da boro ya adilante no, A ga haŋ kaŋ ga saba da haŋ kaŋ ga halal goy te mo,
6and has not eaten on the mountains, neither has lifted up his eyes to the idols of the house of Israel, neither has defiled his neighbor’s wife, neither has come near to a woman in her impurity,
6 A mana ŋwa tudey boŋ, A mana adduwa te Israyla dumo toorey gaa, A mana nga gorokasin wande ceeci, A mana maan wayboro a ziibi diyaŋ waate,
7and has not wronged any, but has restored to the debtor his pledge, has taken nothing by robbery, has given his bread to the hungry, and has covered the naked with a garment;
7 A mana boro kulu kankam, Amma a na tolme nda nga seeda yeti koyo se, A mana boro kulu kom, Amma a na harayzey no nga ŋwaaro gaa, A na banjikomey daabu nda bankaaray,
8he who has not given forth on interest, neither has taken any increase, who has withdrawn his hand from iniquity, has executed true justice between man and man,
8 A mana nooru nda hari daŋ, A mana tontoni ta mo, A na nga kambe hibandi ka fay da goy laalo teeyaŋ, A ga cimi ciiti te boro nda care game ra,
9has walked in my statutes, and has kept my ordinances, to deal truly; he is just, he shall surely live, says the Lord Yahweh.
9 A na ay hin sanney gana, A haggoy d'ay farilley zama nga ma cimi goy te se -- boro woodin no ga ti adilante. Haciika a ga funa. Yaadin no Rabbi, Koy Beero ci.
10If he fathers a son who is a robber, a shedder of blood, and who does any one of these things,
10 D'a na ize hay kaŋ ciya toonyante, kaŋ ga boro wi, kaŋ ga goyey din kulu dumi te mo nga nya-ize se,
11and who does not any of those duties, but even has eaten on the mountains, and defiled his neighbor’s wife,
11 baa kaŋ baabo mana woodin yaŋ kulu te, Amma izo ga ŋwa tudey boŋ, A ga nga gorokasin wande ceeci,
12has wronged the poor and needy, has taken by robbery, has not restored the pledge, and has lifted up his eyes to the idols, has committed abomination,
12 A ga talkey da alfukaarey kankam, A ga kom, a si tolme seeda yeti, A ga sududu tooru se, A ga fanta goy te,
13has given forth on interest, and has taken increase; shall he then live? he shall not live: he has done all these abominations; he shall surely die; his blood shall be on him.
13 A ga garaw daŋ, nooru nda hari, A ga tontoni ta dake boŋ -- Ize woodin ga funa, wala? Abada, a si funa! A na fanta hari woodin yaŋ kulu te, haciika a ga bu no, a kuro alhakko go a boŋ.
14Now, behold, if he fathers a son, who sees all his father’s sins, which he has done, and fears, and does not such like;
14 Ma guna me.
15who has not eaten on the mountains, neither has lifted up his eyes to the idols of the house of Israel, has not defiled his neighbor’s wife,
16neither has wronged any, has not taken anything to pledge, neither has taken by robbery, but has given his bread to the hungry, and has covered the naked with a garment;
16 A si boro kulu kankam, A si tolme kulu gaay, a si kom, Amma a ga harayzey no nga ŋwaaro gaa, A ga banjikom daabu nda bankaaray,
17who has withdrawn his hand from the poor, who has not received interest nor increase, has executed my ordinances, has walked in my statutes; he shall not die for the iniquity of his father, he shall surely live.
17 A si alfukaarey kankam, A si nooru nda hari daŋ, wala tontoni, A g'ay farilley te, a g'ay hin sanney gana mo -- bora si bu baabo zunubey sabbay se. Haciika a ga funa no.
18As for his father, because he cruelly oppressed, robbed his brother, and did that which is not good among his people, behold, he shall die in his iniquity.
18 Amma a baabo sanni, za kaŋ a kom da bine korno, a na nga nya-izey jinay ku, a na goy kaŋ si boori yaŋ te nga jama ra, a go, a ga bu nga taalo sabbay se.
19Yet you say, Why doesn’t the son bear the iniquity of the father? When the son has done that which is lawful and right, and has kept all my statutes, and has done them, he shall surely live.
19 Amma araŋ ne: «Ifo se no ize si baaba alhakku sambu?» To, sabaabo ga ti: hala day ize na haŋ kaŋ ga saba nda haŋ kaŋ ga halal te, a n'ay hin sanney kulu haggoy, a n'i goy mo, haciika a ga funa.
20The soul who sins, he shall die: the son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son; the righteousness of the righteous shall be on him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be on him.
20 Bora kaŋ na zunubi te din, nga no ga bu. Adilante adilitara, nga bumbo boŋ no a go. Laalakoy mo, a laalayaŋo go a boŋ.
21But if the wicked turn from all his sins that he has committed, and keep all my statutes, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall surely live, he shall not die.
21 Amma da boro laalo bare ka fay da nga zunubey kulu kaŋ a goy, a n'ay hin sanney kulu haggoy, a na haŋ kaŋ ga saba da haŋ kaŋ ga halal mo te, haciika a ga funa, a si bu bo.
22None of his transgressions that he has committed shall be remembered against him: in his righteousness that he has done he shall live.
23Have I any pleasure in the death of the wicked? says the Lord Yahweh; and not rather that he should return from his way, and live?
23 Yaa no Rabbi, Koy Beero ci: Ay wo ga maa boro laalo buuyaŋ kaani no?
24But when the righteous turns away from his righteousness, and commits iniquity, and does according to all the abominations that the wicked man does, shall he live? None of his righteous deeds that he has done shall be remembered: in his trespass that he has trespassed, and in his sin that he has sinned, in them shall he die.
Abada! I si fongu a adilitaray goyey kaŋ a te gaa, baa afolloŋ. A amaana ŋwaayaŋo kaŋ a te, d'a zunubey kaŋ a te ra no a ga bu.
25Yet you say, The way of the Lord is not equal. Hear now, house of Israel: Is my way not equal? Aren’t your ways unequal?
25 Amma araŋ ne: «Koy Beero fonda mana saba!» Ya Israyla dumo, wa maa: Ay fonda no mana saba, wala araŋ fondey no mana saba?
26When the righteous man turns away from his righteousness, and commits iniquity, and dies therein; in his iniquity that he has done shall he die.
26 Waati kaŋ boro adilante bare ka fay da nga adilitara, a goono ga adilitaray-jaŋay te, hal a bu a ra mo -- a laala kaŋ a goy din se no a bu.
27Again, when the wicked man turns away from his wickedness that he has committed, and does that which is lawful and right, he shall save his soul alive.
27 Hala mo a ciya boro laalo bare ka fay da nga laala kaŋ a goy din, a go ga haŋ kaŋ ga saba da haŋ kaŋ ga halal te, a ga yana nda nga fundo.
28Because he considers, and turns away from all his transgressions that he has committed, he shall surely live, he shall not die.
28 Za kaŋ a goono ga laakal ye, a goono mo ga bare ka fay da taali kulu kaŋ nga te, haciika a ga funa, a si bu bo.
29Yet the house of Israel says, “The way of the Lord is not fair.” House of Israel, aren’t my ways fair? Aren’t your ways unfair?
29 Amma kulu nda yaadin Israyla dumo goono ga ne: «Koy Beero fonda si saba!» Ya Israyla dumo, ay fondey no si saba? Wala araŋ waney no si saba?
30Therefore I will judge you, house of Israel, everyone according to his ways, says the Lord Yahweh. Return, and turn yourselves from all your transgressions; so iniquity shall not be your ruin.
Yaadin no Rabbi Irikoy ci!
31Cast away from you all your transgressions, in which you have transgressed; and make yourself a new heart and a new spirit: for why will you die, house of Israel?
31 W'araŋ taaley kulu kaŋ araŋ te furu. Wa te bine taji nda biya taji, zama ifo se no araŋ ga buuyaŋ ceeci, ya Israyla dumo?
32For I have no pleasure in the death of him who dies, says the Lord Yahweh: therefore turn yourselves, and live.
Yaadin no Rabbi, Koy Beero ci.
