1Now the prophets, Haggai the prophet, and Zechariah the son of Iddo, prophesied to the Jews who were in Judah and Jerusalem; in the name of the God of Israel they prophesied to them.
2Then rose up Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and Jeshua the son of Jozadak, and began to build God’s house which is at Jerusalem; and with them were the prophets of God, helping them.
Irikoy annabey mo go i banda k'i gaa.
3At the same time came to them Tattenai, the governor beyond the River, and Shetharbozenai, and their companions, and said thus to them, “Who gave you a decree to build this house, and to finish this wall?”
3 Alwaato din ra mo Tattenay, kaŋ ga isa daŋanta may, da Setar-Bozenay, da ngey gorokasiney kaa i do ka ne i se: «May no k'araŋ lordi ka ne araŋ ma windo wo cina, araŋ ma cinaro wo kubandi mo?»
4Then we told them in this way, what the names of the men were who were making this building.
5But the eye of their God was on the elders of the Jews, and they did not make them cease, until the matter should come to Darius, and then answer should be returned by letter concerning it.
5 Amma i Irikoyo moy go Yahudancey arkusey gaa. I man'i ganji mo, hala sanno ga kaa ka to Dariyus do. Waato gaa no i ga tuyaŋo te tira ra muraado wo boŋ.
6The copy of the letter that Tattenai, the governor beyond the River, and Shetharbozenai, and his companions the Apharsachites, who were beyond the River, sent to Darius the king;
6 Tattenay kaŋ ga isa daŋanta may, da Setar-Bozenay, da ngey gorokasiney, Afarsaci borey, kaŋ yaŋ go isa daŋanta, i tira cala neeya, wo kaŋ i samba bonkoono Dariyus do.
7they sent a letter to him, in which was written thus: To Darius the king, all peace.
7 I na tira samba kaŋ ra i hantum ka ne: Baani kulu ma goro bonkoono Dariyus gaa.
8Be it known to the king, that we went into the province of Judah, to the house of the great God, which is built with great stones, and timber is laid in the walls; and this work goes on with diligence and prospers in their hands.
8 I ma bonkoono bayrandi kaŋ iri wo koy Yahuda laabo ra, ka koy Irikoy Beeray-Beeri-Koyo windo ra, kaŋ i go ga cina nda tondi bambata yaŋ. I goono ga kataakuyaŋ daŋ mo windo meyey gaa.
9Then we asked those elders, and said to them thus, “Who gave you a decree to build this house, and to finish this wall?”
9 Kal iri na arkusey din hã ka ne i se: «May no k'araŋ lordi ka ne araŋ ma windo wo cina, araŋ ma cinaro wo cina ka kubandi mo?»
10We asked them their names also, to inform you that we might write the names of the men who were at their head.
10 Iri na cinakoy maayey hã mo, zama iri ma du ka seeda ni se, zama iri m'i jine borey maayey hantum.
11Thus they returned us answer, saying, “We are the servants of the God of heaven and earth, and are building the house that was built these many years ago, which a great king of Israel built and finished.
11 Tuyaŋo kaŋ i ye iri se neeya, i ne: «Iri wo, Irikoy, beene nda ganda Koyo tamyaŋ no, Iri goono ga windo wo cina kaŋ i jin ka cina za jiiri boobo kaŋ bisa, kaŋ Israyla bonkooni bambata fo cina ka kubandi mo.
12But after that our fathers had provoked the God of heaven to wrath, he gave them into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, the Chaldean, who destroyed this house, and carried the people away into Babylon.
12 Amma waato kaŋ iri kaayey na Irikoy kaŋ go beene zokoti, hal a te i se bine, kal a n'i daŋ Babila bonkoono Nebukadnezzar, Kaldanca kambe ra. Nga mo na fuwo wo halaci, k'a borey ku ka kond'ey Babila.
13But in the first year of Cyrus king of Babylon, Cyrus the king made a decree to build this house of God.
14The gold and silver vessels also of God’s house, which Nebuchadnezzar took out of the temple that was in Jerusalem, and brought into the temple of Babylon, those Cyrus the king took out of the temple of Babylon, and they were delivered to one whose name was Sheshbazzar, whom he had made governor;
14 Wura nda nzarfu jinayey mo, Irikoy fuwo wane yaŋ, Nebukadnezzar n'i ku sududuyaŋ fuwo ra kaŋ go Urusalima ka kond'ey Babila tooru fuwo ra. Bonkoono Sirus mo n'i sambu k'i kaa noodin ka no boro fo se kaŋ se i ga ne Sesbazzar, bora kaŋ a ciya mayraykoy.
15and he said to him, ‘Take these vessels, go, put them in the temple that is in Jerusalem, and let God’s house be built in its place.’
15 A ne a se: ‹Ma jinayey wo sambu ka koy k'i daŋ sududuyaŋ fuwo ra kaŋ go Urusalima. I ma Irikoy windo cina nga nango ra mo.›
16Then the same Sheshbazzar came, and laid the foundations of God’s house which is in Jerusalem: and since that time even until now has it been in building, and yet it is not completed.
16 Waato din gaa no Sesbazzar wo kaa ka Irikoy windo kaŋ go Urusalima ra daba sinji. Za han din binde ka kaa ka to hunkuna i goono ga windo cina, i mana a ban mo hala ka kaa sohõ.»
17Now therefore, if it seem good to the king, let a search be made in the king’s treasure house, which is there at Babylon, whether it be so, that a decree was made of Cyrus the king to build this house of God at Jerusalem; and let the king send his pleasure to us concerning this matter.”
17 Woodin se binde, hala day bonkoono di kaŋ a ga boori, i ma fintalyaŋ te bonkoono jisiri fuwo kaŋ go noodin Babila ra. I ma di hala yaadin no, da cimi bonkoono Sirus no ka lordi te ka ne i ma Irikoy windo kaŋ go Urusalima ra din cina. Bonkoono mo ma donton ka seeda iri se haŋ kaŋ ga ciya nga miila sanno wo boŋ.
