1Now it happened in the seventh month, that Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, the son of Elishama, of the seed royal and one of the chief officers of the king, and ten men with him, came to Gedaliah the son of Ahikam to Mizpah; and there they ate bread together in Mizpah.
1 A ciya mo, handu iyyanta ra Isumeyla Netaniya izo, Elisama ize, kaŋ fuula banda no, bonkoono mayraykoy beerey ra boro fo no, a kande boro way nga banda. I kaa Gedaliya Ahikam izo do Mizpa. I ŋwa care banda Mizpa ra.
2Then arose Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, and the ten men who were with him, and struck Gedaliah the son of Ahikam the son of Shaphan with the sword, and killed him, whom the king of Babylon had made governor over the land.
2 Kala Isumeyla Nataniya izo, da boro waya kaŋ go a banda tun ka Gedaliya Ahikam izo, Safan ize kar da takuba. I n'a wi mo, nga kaŋ Babila bonkoono daŋ a ma ciya laabo mayko.
3Ishmael also killed all the Jews who were with him, with Gedaliah, at Mizpah, and the Chaldeans who were found there, the men of war.
3 Koyne, Yahudancey kulu kaŋ yaŋ go Gedaliya banda Mizpa ra, da Kaldancey wongaarey kaŋ yaŋ i gar noodin, Isumeyla n'i wi.
4It happened the second day after he had killed Gedaliah, and no man knew it,
4 A ciya binde, Gedaliya wiyaŋo wane suba, boro kulu mana bay a gaa mo,
5that there came men from Shechem, from Shiloh, and from Samaria, even eighty men, having their beards shaved and their clothes torn, and having cut themselves, with meal offerings and frankincense in their hand, to bring them to the house of Yahweh.
5 kala boro fooyaŋ, ngey boro wahakku fun Sekem da Silo da Samariya ka kaa. I kaabey go cabante yaŋ, i bankaarayey mo toorante yaŋ, i na ngey gaahamey mo tooru-tooru. I kande ŋwaari sargayyaŋ da lubban ngey kambey ra zama ngey ma kaa Rabbi windo do.
6Ishmael the son of Nethaniah went forth from Mizpah to meet them, weeping all along as he went: and it happened, as he met them, he said to them, Come to Gedaliah the son of Ahikam.
6 Isumeyla Netaniya izo binde fatta Mizpa ra nga m'i kubay se. A go ga dira, a ga hẽ. Waato kaŋ a kubay d'ey binde, a ne i se: «Wa kaa Gedaliya Ahikam izo do.»
7It was so, when they came into the midst of the city, that Ishmael the son of Nethaniah killed them, and cast them into the midst of the pit, he, and the men who were with him.
7 A ciya binde, waato kaŋ cine i to gallo bindo ra, kala Isumeyla Netaniya izo da borey kaŋ yaŋ go a banda n'i wi. A n'i furu guuso bindo ra.
8But ten men were found among those who said to Ishmael, Don’t kill us; for we have stores hidden in the field, of wheat, and of barley, and of oil, and of honey. So he stopped, and didn’t kill them among their brothers.
8 Amma i ra a na boro way gar kaŋ yaŋ ne Isumeyla se: «Ma si iri wi, zama iri gonda jisiri tugante saajo ra, ngey neeya: alkama da sayir*, da ji, da yu.» A binde fay d'ey, a man'i wi ngey caley banda.
9Now the pit in which Ishmael cast all the dead bodies of the men whom he had killed, by the side of Gedaliah (the same was who which Asa the king had made for fear of Baasha king of Israel), Ishmael the son of Nethaniah filled it with those who were killed.
9 Guuso kaŋ ra Isumeyla na borey kaŋ a wi yaŋ din buukoy kulu daŋ Gedaliya sabbay se, guuso kaŋ Bonkoono Asa fansi no, Israyla Bonkoono Baasa humburkumay se. Isumeyla Netaniya izo na guuso toonandi nda borey kaŋ yaŋ a wi.
10Then Ishmael carried away captive all the residue of the people who were in Mizpah, even the king’s daughters, and all the people who remained in Mizpah, whom Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard had committed to Gedaliah the son of Ahikam; Ishmael the son of Nethaniah carried them away captive, and departed to go over to the children of Ammon.
10 Waato din gaa no Isumeyla na boro jaray kaŋ cindi yaŋ din ku Mizpa ra, da bonkoono ize wayborey, da borey kulu kaŋ yaŋ cindi Mizpa ra, ngey kaŋ yaŋ batukoy koyo Nebuzaradan daŋ Gedaliya Ahikam izo kambe ra. Isumeyla Netaniya izo mo n'i sambu ka kond'ey ka daŋ tamtaray. A tun zama nga ma danandi ka koy Amon izey do.
11But when Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the captains of the forces who were with him, heard of all the evil that Ishmael the son of Nethaniah had done,
11 Amma waato kaŋ Yohanan Kareya izo da wonkoyey kulu kaŋ go a banda maa baaru, goy laalo kulu kaŋ Isumeyla Netaniya izo te,
12then they took all the men, and went to fight with Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, and found him by the great waters that are in Gibeon.
12 kal i na alborey kulu margu ka koy zama ngey ma Isumeyla Netaniya izo wongu. I n'a gar day beero kaŋ go Jibeyon me gaa haray.
13Now it happened that, when all the people who were with Ishmael saw Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the captains of the forces who were with him, then they were glad.
13 A ciya binde, waato kaŋ cine jama kulu kaŋ go Isumeyla banda di Yohanan Kareya izo da wonkoyey kulu kaŋ yaŋ go a banda, kal i soobay ka farhã.
14So all the people who Ishmael had carried away captive from Mizpah turned about and came back, and went to Johanan the son of Kareah.
14 Jama kulu binde kaŋ yaŋ Isumeyla ku Mizpa ra ka kond'ey tamtaray, i bare ka ye Yohanan Kareya izo do haray.
15But Ishmael the son of Nethaniah escaped from Johanan with eight men, and went to the children of Ammon.
15 Amma Isumeyla Netaniya izo du ka Yohanan yana, nga nda boro ahakku nga banda. A zaa ka guna Amon izey do haray.
16Then took Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the captains of the forces who were with him, all the remnant of the people whom he had recovered from Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, from Mizpah, after that he had killed Gedaliah the son of Ahikam, the men of war, and the women, and the children, and the eunuchs, whom he had brought back from Gibeon:
16 Kala Yohanan Kareya izo, da wonkoyey kulu kaŋ yaŋ go a banda, i na jama kaŋ cindi kulu sambu, borey kaŋ yaŋ a du ka faaba Isumeyla Netaniya izo kambe Mizpa ra, Gedaliya Ahikam izo wiyaŋo banda. Ngey neeya: wongaarey, da wayborey, da zankey, da mantawey kaŋ yaŋ a ye ka kand'ey ka fun d'ey Jibeyon.
17and they departed, and lived in Geruth Chimham, which is by Bethlehem, to go to enter into Egypt,
17 I dira noodin ka koy goro Kimham naŋ-zumba do, kaŋ ga maan Baytlahami. I goono ga miila ngey ma koy jina ka furo Misira laabo ra
18because of the Chaldeans; for they were afraid of them, because Ishmael the son of Nethaniah had killed Gedaliah the son of Ahikam, whom the king of Babylon made governor over the land.
