1In those days there was no king in Israel: and in those days the tribe of the Danites sought an inheritance to dwell in; for to that day, their inheritance had not fallen to them among the tribes of Israel.
1 Jirbey din ra bonkooni si no Israyla ra. Jirbey din ra mo Dan kunda na tubu ceeci zama ngey ma goro a ra. Zama hal a kaa ka to saaya din ra, i tubo mana furo i kambe ra Israyla kundey game ra.
2The children of Dan sent of their family five men from their whole number, men of valor, from Zorah, and from Eshtaol, to spy out the land, and to search it; and they said to them, “Go, explore the land!” They came to the hill country of Ephraim, to the house of Micah, and lodged there.
2 Kala Dan izey na ngey kunda ra boro gu donton i jama kulu ra, boro yaarukomyaŋ kaŋ fun Zora da Estayol do haray, zama i ma laabo windi k'a fintal mo. I ne i se: «Wa koy ka laabo fintal.» I kaa Ifraymu tondey laabu ka koy Mika windo ra ka zumbu noodin.
3When they were by the house of Micah, they knew the voice of the young man the Levite; and they turned aside there, and said to him, “Who brought you here? What do you do in this place? What do you have here?”
3 Waato kaŋ i kaa ka to Mika windo gaa tak-tak, i na arwasu Lawito jinda bay. I kamba ka gana ka kaa a do. I ne a se: «May ka kande nin neewo? Ifo no ni goono ga te mo nango wo ra? Ifo no ka bara ni se ne?»
4He said to them, “Thus and thus has Micah dealt with me, and he has hired me, and I am become his priest.”
4 Kala a ne i se: «Yaa da yaa no Mika te ay se. A n'ay sufuray, ay ciya a alfaga mo.»
5They said to him, “Please ask counsel of God, that we may know whether our way which we go shall be prosperous.”
5 I ne a se: «Iri ga ni ŋwaaray no, ma saaware ceeci Irikoy do zama iri ma bay hala fondo wo kaŋ iri go ga gana ga te albarka.»
6The priest said to them, “Go in peace. Your way in which you go is before Yahweh.”
6 Alfaga ne i se: «Wa koy baani samay. Fonda kaŋ araŋ ga gana, Rabbi jine no a go.»
7Then the five men departed, and came to Laish, and saw the people who were therein, how they lived in security, in the way of the Sidonians, quiet and secure; for there was none in the land, possessing authority, that might put them to shame in anything, and they were far from the Sidonians, and had no dealings with any man.
I di borey kaŋ yaŋ goono ga goro a ra, i go ga goro nda baani, Zidonancey alaada boŋ, laakal kanay ra, fitina kulu si. Zama laabo ra mayraykoy si no kaŋ ga haawa i gaa hay kulu ra.
8They came to their brothers to Zorah and Eshtaol: and their brothers said to them, “What do you say?”
8 Kaŋ i ye ka kaa ngey nya-izey do Zora da Estayol, kala i nya-izey ne i se: «Man gaa baaru kaŋ araŋ kande?»
9They said, “Arise, and let us go up against them; for we have seen the land, and behold, it is very good. Do you stand still? Don’t be slothful to go and to enter in to possess the land.
9 I ne: «Iri ma tun ka koy ka wongu nd'ey, zama iri di laabo. A go mo, a ga boori gumo. Araŋ binde, araŋ go ne ga goro hinne? Wa si te hawfunoyaŋ. Wa dira ka koy ka laabo ŋwa.
10When you go, you shall come to a secure people, and the land is large; for God has given it into your hand, a place where there is no want of anything that is in the earth.”
10 Waato kaŋ araŋ koy, araŋ ga borey gar, i go ga goro baani goray. Laabo mo, a ga tafay, zama Irikoy n'araŋ no nd'a araŋ kambe ra. Laabu no kaŋ si jaŋ hay kulu kaŋ go ndunnya ra.»
11There set forth from there of the family of the Danites, out of Zorah and out of Eshtaol, six hundred men girt with weapons of war.
11 A binde, Dan kunda ra kala boro zangu iddu tun Zora da Estayol, kaŋ yaŋ na wongu jinayyaŋ koto.
12They went up, and encamped in Kiriath Jearim, in Judah: therefore they called that place Mahaneh Dan, to this day; behold, it is behind Kiriath Jearim.
12 I tun ka kaa Ciriyat-Yeyarim ka zumbu, Yahuda laabo ra. Woodin se no i na nango maa daŋ Mahane-Dan (kaŋ a feerijo ga ti Dan Gata) hala hunkuna. A go Ciriyat-Yeyarim se wayna kaŋay haray.
13They passed there to the hill country of Ephraim, and came to the house of Micah.
13 I bisa noodin ka koy Ifraymu tondey laabo ra ka kaa ka to Mika windi.
14Then the five men who went to spy out the country of Laish answered, and said to their brothers, “Do you know that there is in these houses an ephod, and teraphim, and an engraved image, and a molten image? Now therefore consider what you have to do.”
14 Gaa no boro guwa din kaŋ yaŋ koy ka Layis laabo windi, i ne ngey nya-izey se: «Araŋ bay kaŋ windo wo ra efod* fo go no, da fu-kaliyaŋ da jabuyaŋ himandi da sooguyaŋ himandi mo? Sohõ binde, araŋ bay haŋ kaŋ araŋ ga te.»
15They turned aside there, and came to the house of the young man the Levite, even to the house of Micah, and asked him of his welfare.
15 I binde kamba ka kaa arwasu Lawito din kwaara, danga Mika windi nooya. I n'a baani hã.
16The six hundred men girt with their weapons of war, who were of the children of Dan, stood by the entrance of the gate.
16 Dan kunda boro zangu iddo din kay windo me gaa da ngey wongu jinayey.
17The five men who went to spy out the land went up, and came in there, and took the engraved image, and the ephod, and the teraphim, and the molten image: and the priest stood by the entrance of the gate with the six hundred men girt with weapons of war.
Alfaga mo go meyo gaa ga kay, da boro zangu iddo wo mo kaŋ yaŋ go ga guddama da wongu jinayyaŋ.
18When these went into Micah’s house, and fetched the engraved image, the ephod, and the teraphim, and the molten image, the priest said to them, “What are you doing?”
19They said to him, “Hold your peace, put your hand on your mouth, and go with us, and be to us a father and a priest. Is it better for you to be priest to the house of one man, or to be priest to a tribe and a family in Israel?”
20The priest’s heart was glad, and he took the ephod, and the teraphim, and the engraved image, and went in the midst of the people.
20 Alfaga bina binde kaan. Kal a na efod nda fu-kaley da jabuyaŋ himando sambu ka furo jama bindo ra.
21So they turned and departed, and put the little ones and the livestock and the goods before them.
21 I bare binde ka dira.
22When they were a good way from the house of Micah, the men who were in the houses near to Micah’s house were gathered together, and overtook the children of Dan.
22 Waato kaŋ i mooru Mika kwaara, borey kaŋ yaŋ go Mika windo jarga margu. I na Dan izey hamney ka to.
23They cried to the children of Dan. They turned their faces, and said to Micah, “What ails you, that you come with such a company?”
23 I na Dan izey ce. Ngey mo zagu ka ne Mika se: «Ifo no ka du nin kaŋ ni na jama wo margu?»
24He said, “You have taken away my gods which I made, and the priest, and have gone away, and what more do I have? How then do you say to me, ‘What ails you?’”
24 A ne: «Araŋ n'ay toorey kaŋ yaŋ ay te, d'ay alfaga mo kom k'araŋ koyyaŋ te. Ifo ka cindi ay se koyne? Mate se no araŋ ga ne ay se: ‹Ifo ka du nin?› »
25The children of Dan said to him, “Don’t let your voice be heard among us, lest angry fellows fall on you, and you lose your life, with the lives of your household.”
26The children of Dan went their way: and when Micah saw that they were too strong for him, he turned and went back to his house.
26 Kala Dan izey soobay ka ngey dirawo te. Waato kaŋ Mika di i bisa nga gaabi, a bare ka ye fu.
27They took that which Micah had made, and the priest whom he had, and came to Laish, to a people quiet and secure, and struck them with the edge of the sword; and they burnt the city with fire.
27 I na haya kaŋ Mika te din, da alfaga kaŋ a du, sambu ka kaa Layis, borey kaŋ go ga goro nda baani, laakal kanay ra. I n'i kar da takuba. I na kwaara ton da danji.
28There was no deliverer, because it was far from Sidon, and they had no dealings with any man; and it was in the valley that lies by Beth Rehob. They built the city, and lived therein.
28 Faabako si no, zama kwaara ga mooru Zidon. I goono ga goro Bayt-Rehob jarga, gooro ra. Dan izey na birni cina ka goro a ra.
29They called the name of the city Dan, after the name of Dan their father, who was born to Israel: however the name of the city was Laish at the first.
29 I na birno maa ce Dan, ngey kaayo Dan maa boŋ, nga kaŋ i hay Israyla se, amma sintina gaa birno maa ga ti Layis.
30The children of Dan set up for themselves the engraved image: and Jonathan, the son of Gershom, the son of Moses, he and his sons were priests to the tribe of the Danites until the day of the captivity of the land.
31So they set them up Micah’s engraved image which he made, all the time that God’s house was in Shiloh.
31 I binde na jabuyaŋ himando kaŋ Mika te din sinji i se, jirbey kulu me-a-me ra kaŋ Irikoy windo go Silo ra.
