2 Kings

10

1Now Ahab had seventy sons in Samaria. Jehu wrote letters, and sent to Samaria, to the rulers of Jezreel, even the elders, and to those who brought up the sons of Ahab, saying,
1 Day Ahab gonda ize alboro wayye Samariya ra. Kala Yehu na tirayaŋ hantum ka samba i ma koy Samariya, Yezreyel mayraykoyey do, sanda arkusey da borey kaŋ yaŋ go ga Ahab izey biiri mo ka ne:
1Now Ahab had seventy sons in Samaria. And Jehu wrote letters, and sent to Samaria, unto the rulers of Jezreel, even the elders, and unto them that brought up [the sons of] Ahab, saying,
2“Now as soon as this letter comes to you, since your master’s sons are with you, and there are with you chariots and horses, a fortified city also, and armor.
2 «Sohõ da tirey wo kaa ka to araŋ do, za kaŋ araŋ jine bora izey go araŋ banda, araŋ gonda wongu torkoyaŋ da bariyaŋ, da wongu jinayey mo, kwaara mo, birni cinari no g'a windi --
2And now as soon as this letter cometh to you, seeing your master's sons are with you, and there are with you chariots and horses, a fortified city also, and armor;
3Select the best and fittest of your master’s sons, set him on his father’s throne, and fight for your master’s house.”
3 kal araŋ ma suuban bora kaŋ gonda gaakuri da daa hanno ka bisa cindey araŋ jine bora izey ra. Araŋ m'a dake nga baaba karga boŋ ka wongu araŋ jine bora kwaara se.»
3look ye out the best and meetest of your master's sons, and set him on his father's throne, and fight for your master's house.
4But they were exceedingly afraid, and said, “Behold, the two kings didn’t stand before him! How then shall we stand?”
4 Amma i humburu gumo ka ne: «Guna, bonkooni hinka din mana hin ka kay a jine, sanku fa iri mo?»
4But they were exceedingly afraid, and said, Behold, the two kings stood not before him: how then shall we stand?
5He who was over the household, and he who was over the city, the elders also, and those who raised the children, sent to Jehu, saying, “We are your servants, and will do all that you ask us. We will not make any man king. You do that which is good in your eyes.”
5 Kala nga kaŋ go windo boŋ da nga kaŋ go kwaara muraadu kulu boŋ da arkusey mo, da ngey kaŋ na bonkoono izey biiri, i donton Yehu gaa ka ne: «Iri ya ni bannyayaŋ no. Hay kulu kaŋ ni n'iri lordi nd'a iri ga te, iri si boro kulu daŋ koytaray ra. Kala ni ma te haŋ kaŋ kaan ni se.»
5And he that was over the household, and he that was over the city, the elders also, and they that brought up [the children], sent to Jehu, saying, We are thy servants, and will do all that thou shalt bid us; we will not make any man king: do thou that which is good in thine eyes.
6Then he wrote a letter the second time to them, saying, “If you are on my side, and if you will listen to my voice, take the heads of the men your master’s sons, and come to me to Jezreel by tomorrow this time.” Now the king’s sons, being seventy persons, were with the great men of the city, who brought them up.
6 Alwaato din gaa Yehu na tira hantum sorro hinkanta ka koy i do ka ne: «D'araŋ go ay banda, d'araŋ ga hangan ay sanno se mo, kal araŋ ma borey din, araŋ jine bora izey, boŋey kaa. Araŋ ma kaa ay do suba mãsancine Yezreyel ra.» Bonkoono izey mo, ngey boro wayye no, i go kwaara boro beerey banda, ngey kaŋ yaŋ n'i biiri.
6Then he wrote a letter the second time to them, saying, If ye be on my side, and if ye will hearken unto my voice, take ye the heads of the men your master's sons, and come to me to Jezreel by to-morrow this time. Now the king's sons, being seventy persons, were with the great men of the city, who brought them up.
7It happened, when the letter came to them, that they took the king’s sons, and killed them, even seventy persons, and put their heads in baskets, and sent them to him to Jezreel.
7 A ciya mo, alwaato kaŋ tira to i do, kal i na bonkoono izey di k'i wi, i boro wayya din. I n'i boŋey daŋ cillayaŋ ra, k'i samba Yezreyel.
7And it came to pass, when the letter came to them, that they took the king's sons, and slew them, even seventy persons, and put their heads in baskets, and sent them unto him to Jezreel.
8A messenger came, and told him, “They have brought the heads of the king’s sons.” He said, “Lay them in two heaps at the entrance of the gate until the morning.”
8 Kala diya fo go, a kaa ka ci Yehu se ka ne: «I kande bonkoono izey boŋey.» A ne: «W'i margu gu hinka kwaara meyo gaa, hala susubay.»
8And there came a messenger, and told him, saying, They have brought the heads of the king's sons. And he said, Lay ye them in two heaps at the entrance of the gate until the morning.
9It happened in the morning, that he went out, and stood, and said to all the people, “You are righteous. Behold, I conspired against my master, and killed him; but who struck all these?
9 A ciya mo, susuba ra a fatta ka kay ka ne borey kulu se: «Araŋ wo adilante yaŋ no. Guna, ay murte ay jine bora gaa k'a wi, amma may no ka woone yaŋ kulu wi?
9And it came to pass in the morning, that he went out, and stood, and said to all the people, Ye are righteous: behold, I conspired against my master, and slew him; but who smote all these?
10Know now that nothing shall fall to the earth of the word of Yahweh, which Yahweh spoke concerning the house of Ahab. For Yahweh has done that which he spoke by his servant Elijah.”
10 Araŋ ma bay mo sohõ kaŋ Rabbi sanno neeya, hari si no mo kaŋ ga kaŋ ganda sanno kaŋ a ci Ahab dumo boŋ din ra. Zama Rabbi goy ka te haya kaŋ a ci nga tamo Iliya do.»
10Know now that there shall fall unto the earth nothing of the word of Jehovah, which Jehovah spake concerning the house of Ahab: for Jehovah hath done that which he spake by his servant Elijah.
11So Jehu struck all that remained of the house of Ahab in Jezreel, with all his great men, his familiar friends, and his priests, until he left him none remaining.
11 Yehu mo na Ahab windi borey kulu kaŋ yaŋ cindi Yezreyel ra wi, d'a wane boro beerey, d'a baakoy, d'a alfagey kulu, hala Yehu mana boro kulu cindi a se.
11So Jehu smote all that remained of the house of Ahab in Jezreel, and all his great men, and his familiar friends, and his priests, until he left him none remaining.
12He arose and departed, and went to Samaria. As he was at the shearing house of the shepherds on the way,
12 Kal a tun ka fatta ka koy Samariya. A go kurukoy banda feeji hamni hõseyaŋ windo do haray fonda boŋ.
12And he arose and departed, and went to Samaria. And as he was at the shearing-house of the shepherds in the way,
13Jehu met with the brothers of Ahaziah king of Judah, and said, “Who are you?” They answered, “We are the brothers of Ahaziah. We are going down to greet the children of the king and the children of the queen.”
13 Kala Yehu kubay nda Ahaziya, Yahuda bonkoono nya-ka-fo-siney. A ne: «Araŋ wo may yaŋ no?» I tu ka ne: «Iri ya Ahaziya nya-ka-fo-sina yaŋ no. Iri kaa no zama iri ma bonkoono izey, da wayboro-koy izey mo fo.»
13Jehu met with the brethren of Ahaziah king of Judah, and said, Who are ye? And they answered, We are the brethren of Ahaziah: and we go down to salute the children of the king and the children of the queen.
14He said, “Take them alive!” They took them alive, and killed them at the pit of the shearing house, even forty-two men. He didn’t leave any of them.
14 Kala Yehu ne: «Wa i sambu nda fundi.» I n'i di nda fundi mo k'i wi feeji hamni hõseyaŋ windi guuso me gaa, i boro waytaaci cindi hinka. A mana baa afolloŋ naŋ i ra.
14And he said, Take them alive. And they took them alive, and slew them at the pit of the shearing-house, even two and forty men; neither left he any of them.
15When he had departed from there, he met Jehonadab the son of Rechab coming to meet him. He greeted him, and said to him, “Is your heart right, as my heart is with your heart?” Jehonadab answered, “It is.” “If it is, give me your hand.” He gave him his hand; and he took him up to him into the chariot.
15 Alwaato kaŋ a tun noodin, kal a na Yonadab Rekab izo gar, a go ga kaa zama nga m'a kubay se. A n'a fo ka ne a se: «Ni bina ga saba no? A go sanda mate kaŋ cine ay bina go ni wano banda mo?» Yonadab tu ka ne: «A ga saba, ya!» Yehu ne: «Da yaadin no, m'ay no ni kamba.» Kal a n'a no nga kamba. A n'a candi ka kande nga do hala torka ra.
15And when he was departed thence, he lighted on Jehonadab the son of Rechab coming to meet him; and he saluted him, and said to him, Is thy heart right, as my heart is with thy heart? And Jehonadab answered, It is. If it be, give me thy hand. And he gave him his hand; and he took him up to him into the chariot.
16He said, “Come with me, and see my zeal for Yahweh.” So they made him ride in his chariot.
16 A ne: «Kaa ay banda ka di anniya kaŋ ay gonda Rabbi se.» I n'a kaarandi mo a torka ra.
16And he said, Come with me, and see my zeal for Jehovah. So they made him ride in his chariot.
17When he came to Samaria, he struck all who remained to Ahab in Samaria, until he had destroyed him, according to the word of Yahweh, which he spoke to Elijah.
17 Alwaato kaŋ a kaa Samariya, a na borey kaŋ yaŋ cindi Ahab wane Samariya ra kulu wi, kal a na Ahab dumo tuusu, Rabbi sanno kaŋ a ci Iliya se din boŋ.
17And when he came to Samaria, he smote all that remained unto Ahab in Samaria, till he had destroyed him, according to the word of Jehovah, which he spake to Elijah.
18Jehu gathered all the people together, and said to them, “Ahab served Baal a little; but Jehu will serve him much.
18 Yehu mo na borey kulu margu ka ne i se: «Ahab may Baal* se kayna, amma Yehu ga may a se gumo.
18And Jehu gathered all the people together, and said unto them, Ahab served Baal a little; but Jehu will serve him much.
19Now therefore call to me all the prophets of Baal, all of his worshippers, and all of his priests. Let none be absent; for I have a great sacrifice to Baal. Whoever is absent, he shall not live.” But Jehu did it in subtlety, intending that he might destroy the worshippers of Baal.
19Now therefore call unto me all the prophets of Baal, all his worshippers, and all his priests; let none be wanting: for I have a great sacrifice [to do] to Baal; whosoever shall be wanting, he shall not live. But Jehu did it in subtlety, to the intent that he might destroy the worshippers of Baal.
20Jehu said, “Sanctify a solemn assembly for Baal!” They proclaimed it.
20 Yehu ne i ma fe ka ne i ga bine saray marga te Baal sabbay se. I n'a fe mo.
20And Jehu said, Sanctify a solemn assembly for Baal. And they proclaimed it.
21Jehu sent through all Israel; and all the worshippers of Baal came, so that there was not a man left that didn’t come. They came into the house of Baal; and the house of Baal was filled from one end to another.
21 Yehu mo donton nangu kulu Israyla ra, borey kaŋ ga sombu Baal se mo i kulu kaa. Boro fo si no kaŋ mana kaa. Koyne i furo Baal windo ra. Baal fuwo mo to za me woone gaa kala ya-haray meyo gaa.
21And Jehu sent through all Israel: and all the worshippers of Baal came, so that there was not a man left that came not. And they came into the house of Baal; and the house of Baal was filled from one end to another.
22He said to him who was over the vestry, “Bring out robes for all the worshippers of Baal!” He brought robes out to them.
22 A ne mo bora kaŋ ga fuwo dabari se: «Ma Baal wane sombuyaŋ bankaarayey kulu kaa taray i se.» A fatta nda bankaarayey i se.
22And he said unto him that was over the vestry, Bring forth vestments for all the worshippers of Baal. And he brought them forth vestments.
23Jehu went with Jehonadab the son of Rechab into the house of Baal. Then he said to the worshippers of Baal, “Search, and look that there are here with you none of the servants of Yahweh, but the worshippers of Baal only.”
23And Jehu went, and Jehonadab the son of Rechab, into the house of Baal; and he said unto the worshippers of Baal, Search, and look that there be here with you none of the servants of Jehovah, but the worshippers of Baal only.
24They went in to offer sacrifices and burnt offerings. Now Jehu had appointed him eighty men outside, and said, “If any of the men whom I bring into your hands escape, he who lets him go, his life shall be for the life of him.”
24 I furo sargay salleyaŋ se, da sargay kaŋ i ga ton mo, amma Yehu jin ka boro wahakku daŋ taray. A ne i se: «Da borey kaŋ ay daŋ araŋ kambey ra yana, baa afo, bora kaŋ n'a naŋ din fundo ga ciya boro fa din fundo banandi.»
24And they went in to offer sacrifices and burnt-offerings. Now Jehu had appointed him fourscore men without, and said, If any of the men whom I bring into your hands escape, [he that letteth him go], his life shall be for the life of him.
25It happened, as soon as he had made an end of offering the burnt offering, that Jehu said to the guard and to the captains, “Go in, and kill them! Let none escape.” They struck them with the edge of the sword; and the guard and the captains cast them out, and went to the city of the house of Baal.
25 I go no, saaya kaŋ i na sargay kaŋ i ga ton no ka ban, a banda kala Yehu ne nga doogarey da nga soojey se: «Wa furo k'i kulu wi, baa afolloŋ ma si fatta.» I n'i kar mo nda takuba. Doogarey da soojey n'i furu taray. I furo hala Baal fu-izo ra.
25And it came to pass, as soon as he had made an end of offering the burnt-offering, that Jehu said to the guard and to the captains, Go in, and slay them; let none come forth. And they smote them with the edge of the sword; and the guard and the captains cast them out, and went to the city of the house of Baal.
26They brought out the pillars that were in the house of Baal, and burned them.
26 I fatta nda toorey kaŋ go Baal fu-izo ra k'i ton mo.
26And they brought forth the pillars that were in the house of Baal, and burned them.
27They broke down the pillar of Baal, and broke down the house of Baal, and made it a latrine, to this day.
27 I na Baal cinaro bagu, i na Baal windo mo bagu k'a ciya salanga hala ka kaa sohõ.
27And they brake down the pillar of Baal, and brake down the house of Baal, and made it a draught-house, unto this day.
28Thus Jehu destroyed Baal out of Israel.
28 Yaadin cine no Yehu na Baal dagu Israyla ra k'a halaci nd'a.
28Thus Jehu destroyed Baal out of Israel.
29However from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, with which he made Israel to sin, Jehu didn’t depart from after them, the golden calves that were in Bethel, and that were in Dan.
29 Amma Yehu mana fay da Yerobowam Nebat izo zunubey bo, naŋ kaŋ a na Israyla daŋ a ma zunubi te, danga wura handayzey kaŋ go Betel ra da wo kaŋ go Dan ra.
29Howbeit from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, wherewith he made Israel to sin, Jehu departed not from after them, [to wit], the golden calves that were in Beth-el, and that were in Dan.
30Yahweh said to Jehu, “Because you have done well in executing that which is right in my eyes, and have done to the house of Ahab according to all that was in my heart, your sons of the fourth generation shall sit on the throne of Israel.”
30 Rabbi ne Yehu se mo: «Za kaŋ ni na ciiti hanno kaŋ ay miila te, mate kaŋ cine ni te haŋ kaŋ saba ay diyaŋ gaa, ni te mo Ahab dumo se hay kulu kaŋ go ay bina ra, yaadin gaa ni banda hal a ma to zamana taaci ga goro Israyla karga boŋ.»
30And Jehovah said unto Jehu, Because thou hast done well in executing that which is right in mine eyes, [and] hast done unto the house of Ahab according to all that was in my heart, thy sons of the fourth generation shall sit on the throne of Israel.
31But Jehu took no heed to walk in the law of Yahweh, the God of Israel, with all his heart. He didn’t depart from the sins of Jeroboam, with which he made Israel to sin.
31 Amma Yehu mana saal nga ma dira Rabbi, Israyla Irikoyo asariya boŋ da nga bina kulu bo. A mana fay da Yerobowam zunubey, naŋ kaŋ a na Israyla daŋ i ma zunubi te.
31But Jehu took no heed to walk in the law of Jehovah, the God of Israel, with all his heart: he departed not from the sins of Jeroboam, wherewith he made Israel to sin.
32In those days Yahweh began to cut off from Israel; and Hazael struck them in all the borders of Israel;
32 Jirbey din ra Rabbi sintin ka Israyla zabu. Hazayel n'i kar Israyla hirrey kulu me gaa,
32In those days Jehovah began to cut off from Israel: and Hazael smote them in all the borders of Israel;
33from the Jordan eastward, all the land of Gilead, the Gadites, and the Reubenites, and the Manassites, from Aroer, which is by the valley of the Arnon, even Gilead and Bashan.
33 Urdun hala ma koy wayna funay haray, da Jileyad laabo kulu ka koy Gad da Ruben da Manasse kundey, za Arower kaŋ go Arnon gooro meyo ra, kaŋ ga ti Jileyad da Basan.
33from the Jordan eastward, all the land of Gilead, the Gadites, and the Reubenites, and the Manassites, from Aroer, which is by the valley of the Arnon, even Gilead and Bashan.
34Now the rest of the acts of Jehu, and all that he did, and all his might, aren’t they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
34 Yehu goy cindey mo, da haŋ kaŋ a te kulu, d'a yaarutaray, manti i n'i hantum Israyla bonkooney baaru tira ra bo?
34Now the rest of the acts of Jehu, and all that he did, and all his might, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
35Jehu slept with his fathers; and they buried him in Samaria. Jehoahaz his son reigned in his place.
35 Yehu mo kani nga kaayey banda. I n'a fiji Samariya. A izo Yehowahaz te bonkooni a nango ra.
35And Jehu slept with his fathers; and they buried him in Samaria. And Jehoahaz his son reigned in his stead.
36The time that Jehu reigned over Israel in Samaria was twenty-eight years.
36 Jirbey kaŋ Yehu na Israyla may Samariya ra ga ti jiiri waranka cindi ahakku.
36And the time that Jehu reigned over Israel in Samaria was twenty and eight years.
