2 Kings

9

1Elisha the prophet called one of the sons of the prophets, and said to him, “Put your belt on your waist, take this vial of oil in your hand, and go to Ramoth Gilead.
1 Annabi Iliyasu na boro fo ce annabey izey ra ka ne a se: «Ma te guddama ka sambu ji kolba wo ni kambe ra. Ma koy Ramot-Jileyad.
1And Elisha the prophet called one of the sons of the prophets, and said unto him, Gird up thy loins, and take this vial of oil in thy hand, and go to Ramoth-gilead.
2When you come there, find Jehu the son of Jehoshaphat the son of Nimshi, and go in, and make him arise up from among his brothers, and carry him to an inner room.
2 Alwaati kaŋ ni ga to noodin mo, ni ma Yehu, Yehosafat izo, Nimsi ize ceeci. Ma furo ka naŋ a ma tun nga nya-izey ra, ka kond'a fu fo ra jina haray.
2And when thou comest thither, look out there Jehu the son of Jehoshaphat the son of Nimshi, and go in, and make him arise up from among his brethren, and carry him to an inner chamber.
3Then take the vial of oil, and pour it on his head, and say, ‘Thus says Yahweh, “I have anointed you king over Israel.”’ Then open the door, flee, and don’t wait.”
3 Sahãadin, ma ji kolba woone sambu ni kambe ra k'a dooru a boŋo boŋ. Ma ne a se: ‹Rabbi ne: Ay na ji dooru ni boŋ, ni ma ciya Israyla bonkooni.› Sahãadin kala ni ma fu meyo fiti ka zuru gumo, ma si kay bo.»
3Then take the vial of oil, and pour it on his head, and say, Thus saith Jehovah, I have anointed thee king over Israel. Then open the door, and flee, and tarry not.
4So the young man, even the young man the prophet, went to Ramoth Gilead.
4 Arwaso mo, kaŋ ga ti annabo zanka din koy Ramot-Jileyad.
4So the young man, even the young man the prophet, went to Ramoth-gilead.
5When he came, behold, the captains of the army were sitting. Then he said, “I have a message for you, captain.” Jehu said, “To which of us all?” He said, “To you, O captain.”
5 Saaya kaŋ a to noodin, kal i wongu jama jine borey go ga goro. A ne: «Ya ay jine bora, ay gonda samba ni se.» Yehu ne: «May no iri kulu ra.» A ne: «Ni se, ya jine bora.»
5And when he came, behold, the captains of the host were sitting; and he said, I have an errand to thee, O captain. And Jehu said, Unto which of us all? And he said, To thee, O captain.
6He arose, and went into the house. Then he poured the oil on his head, and said to him, “Thus says Yahweh, the God of Israel, ‘I have anointed you king over the people of Yahweh, even over Israel.

6And he arose, and went into the house; and he poured the oil on his head, and said unto him, Thus saith Jehovah, the God of Israel, I have anointed thee king over the people of Jehovah, even over Israel.
7You shall strike the house of Ahab your master, that I may avenge the blood of my servants the prophets, and the blood of all the servants of Yahweh, at the hand of Jezebel.
7 Ni ga ni windi koyo Ahab dumo kar, zama ay ma fansa sambu ay tam annabey kuro se, da Rabbi tamey kulu kuro mo se, ngey kaŋ Yezabel wi.
7And thou shalt smite the house of Ahab thy master, that I may avenge the blood of my servants the prophets, and the blood of all the servants of Jehovah, at the hand of Jezebel.
8For the whole house of Ahab shall perish. I will cut off from Ahab everyone who urinates against a wall, both him who is shut up and him who is left at large in Israel.
8 Zama Ahab dumo kulu ga halaci. Ay ga Ahab ize alborey kulu beeri mo, nga kaŋ go daabante nda nga kaŋ go taŋante Israyla ra.
8For the whole house of Ahab shall perish; and I will cut off from Ahab every man-child, and him that is shut up and him that is left at large in Israel.
9I will make the house of Ahab like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and like the house of Baasha the son of Ahijah.
9 Ay ga Ahab dumo yeti sanda Yerobowam Nebat izo dumo cine, da Baasa Ahiya izo dumo cine.
9And I will make the house of Ahab like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and like the house of Baasha the son of Ahijah.
10The dogs will eat Jezebel on the plot of ground of Jezreel, and there shall be none to bury her.’” He opened the door, and fled.
10 Hansiyaŋ ga Yezabel ŋwa Yezreyel laabu kambu fa ra, boro kulu si no mo kaŋ g'a fiji.› » Kal a na fu meyo fiti ka zuru ka koy.
10And the dogs shall eat Jezebel in the portion of Jezreel, and there shall be none to bury her. And he opened the door, and fled.
11Then Jehu came forth to the servants of his lord: and one said to him, “Is all well? Why did this mad fellow come to you?” He said to them, “You know the man and what his talk was.”
11 Alwaato kaŋ Yehu fatta ka kaa nga jine bora bannyey do, boro fo koyne ne a se: «Baani mo? Ifo se no follokomo din kaa ni do?» Yehu ne a se: «Araŋ ga bora din dumi bay, araŋ g'a sanni dumi bay mo.»
11Then Jehu came forth to the servants of his lord: and one said unto him, Is all well? wherefore came this mad fellow to thee? And he said unto them, Ye know the man and what his talk was.
12They said, “That is a lie. Tell us now.” He said, “He said to me, ‘Thus says Yahweh, I have anointed you king over Israel.’”
12 I ne: «Tangari no. Kala ma ci iri se sohõ.» Yehu ne: «Ya-cine nda ya-cine sanni no a te ay se, ka ne: ‹Rabbi ne: Ay na ni tuusu Israyla bonkooni.› »
12And they said, It is false; tell us now. And he said, Thus and thus spake he to me, saying, Thus saith Jehovah, I have anointed thee king over Israel.
13Then they hurried, and took every man his garment, and put it under him on the top of the stairs, and blew the trumpet, saying, “Jehu is king.”
13 Sanno din boŋ mo i waasu-waasu. Boro fo kulu na nga kwaay sambu k'a daaru Yehu cire kaarimi harey boŋ. I na hilli kar ka ne: «Yehu ga ti bonkooni!»
13Then they hasted, and took every man his garment, and put it under him on the top of the stairs, and blew the trumpet, saying, Jehu is king.
14So Jehu the son of Jehoshaphat the son of Nimshi conspired against Joram. (Now Joram was keeping Ramoth Gilead, he and all Israel, because of Hazael king of Syria;
14 Yehu Yehosafat ize, Nimsi izo mo murte Yoram gaa, zama Yoram go ga Ramot-Jileyad batu, nga nda Israyla kulu, Suriya bonkoono Hazayel sabbay se.
14So Jehu the son of Jehoshaphat the son of Nimshi conspired against Joram. (Now Joram was keeping Ramoth-gilead, he and all Israel, because of Hazael king of Syria;
15but king Joram was returned to be healed in Jezreel of the wounds which the Syrians had given him, when he fought with Hazael king of Syria.) Jehu said, “If this is your thinking, then let no one escape and go out of the city, to go to tell it in Jezreel.”
15 Amma bonkoono Yoram ye ka kaa Yezreyel zama nga ma du baani nga guuruyaŋo gaa kaŋ Suriyancey te a se waato kaŋ a go ga wongu nda Suriyancey bonkoono Hazayel. Yehu mo ne: «Da woodin araŋ miila no, boro kulu ma si yana ka fatta kwaara ra ka koy ka baaru no Yezreyel ra.»
15but king Joram was returned to be healed in Jezreel of the wounds which the Syrians had given him, when he fought with Hazael king of Syria.) And Jehu said, If this be your mind, then let none escape and go forth out of the city, to go to tell it in Jezreel.
16So Jehu rode in a chariot, and went to Jezreel; for Joram lay there. Ahaziah king of Judah had come down to see Joram.
16 Yehu mo dira torko ra ka koy Yezreyel, zama Yoram go noodin ga kani. Yahuda bonkoono Ahaziya mo kaa zama nga m'a kunfa.
16So Jehu rode in a chariot, and went to Jezreel; for Joram lay there. And Ahaziah king of Judah was come down to see Joram.
17Now the watchman was standing on the tower in Jezreel, and he spied the company of Jehu as he came, and said, “I see a company.” Joram said, “Take a horseman, and send to meet them, and let him say, ‘Is it peace?’”
17 Batukwa mo go ga kay gar'izo boŋ Yezreyel ra. A na Yehu sata fonnay, i go ga kaa. A ne «Ay di sata fo!» Yoram ne: «Du kaari-ka k'a donton a m'a kubay. A ma ne a se: ‹Baani no?› »
17Now the watchman was standing on the tower in Jezreel, and he spied the company of Jehu as he came, and said, I see a company. And Joram said, Take a horseman, and send to meet them, and let him say, Is it peace?
18So there went one on horseback to meet him, and said, “Thus says the king, ‘Is it peace?’” Jehu said, “What do you have to do with peace? Fall in behind me!” The watchman said, “The messenger came to them, but he isn’t coming back.”
18 Boro fo mo koy bari boŋ zama nga m'a kubay. A ne: «Baani samay no?» Yehu ne: «Ni baa fo da baani? Ye ay banda!» Kala kwaara me batukwa ne: «Diya to hala i do, amma a si ga ye ka kaa.»
18So there went one on horseback to meet him, and said, Thus saith the king, Is it peace? And Jehu said, What hast thou to do with peace? turn thee behind me. And the watchman told, saying, The messenger came to them, but he cometh not back.
19Then he sent out a second on horseback, who came to them, and said, “Thus says the king, ‘Is it peace?’” Jehu answered, “What do you have to do with peace? Fall in behind me!”
19 Saaya din a na ihinkante mo donton bari boŋ. Woodin mo to a do ka ne: «Bonkoono ne, Baani mo no?» Yehu tu ka ne: «Ni baa fo da baani? Ma ye ay banda!»
19Then he sent out a second on horseback, who came to them, and said, Thus saith the king, Is it peace? And Jehu answered, What hast thou to do with peace? turn thee behind me.
20The watchman said, “He came to them, and isn’t coming back. The driving is like the driving of Jehu the son of Nimshi; for he drives furiously.”
20 Kala batukwa na baaru no ka ne: «A to hala i do, amma a siino ga ye ka kaa. Zurandiyaŋo mo ga hima nda Yehu Nimsi izo zurandiyaŋ, zama a ga zurandi da follay.»
20And the watchman told, saying, He came even unto them, and cometh not back: and the driving is like the driving of Jehu the son of Nimshi; for he driveth furiously.
21Joram said, “Get ready!” They got his chariot ready. Joram king of Israel and Ahaziah king of Judah went out, each in his chariot, and they went out to meet Jehu, and found him in the portion of Naboth the Jezreelite.
21 Yoram ne: «I ma soola!» I n'a wongu torka soola. Israyla bonkoono Yoram mo da Yahuda bonkoono Ahaziya fatta, boro kulu go nga torka ra, zama i ma Yehu kubay. I n'a gar Nabot, Yezreyel bora faro ra.
21And Joram said, Make ready. And they made ready his chariot. And Joram king of Israel and Ahaziah king of Judah went out, each in his chariot, and they went out to meet Jehu, and found him in the portion of Naboth the Jezreelite.
22It happened, when Joram saw Jehu, that he said, “Is it peace, Jehu?” He answered, “What peace, so long as the prostitution of your mother Jezebel and her witchcraft abound?”
22 A ciya mo, saaya kaŋ Yoram di Yehu, a ne: «D'a ta day, baani no?» Nga mo tu ka ne: «Mana baani hala day ni nya Yezabel waykuurutara d'a ziimatara ga baa ya-cine?»
22And it came to pass, when Joram saw Jehu, that he said, Is it peace, Jehu? And he answered, What peace, so long as the whoredoms of thy mother Jezebel and her witchcrafts are so many?
23Joram turned his hands, and fled, and said to Ahaziah, “There is treason, Ahaziah!”
23 Yoram na nga kambe bare ka zuru ka ne Ahaziya se: «Amaana ŋwaayaŋ go no, ya Ahaziya!»
23And Joram turned his hands, and fled, and said to Ahaziah, There is treachery, O Ahaziah.
24Jehu drew his bow with his full strength, and struck Joram between his arms; and the arrow went out at his heart, and he sunk down in his chariot.
24 Yehu mo na nga biraw candi nda nga gaabo me. A du ka Yoram hay walhẽy bindi ra, hangawo mo fatta bina do haray. Yoram kaŋ mo nga torka ra.
24And Jehu drew his bow with his full strength, and smote Joram between his arms; and the arrow went out at his heart, and he sunk down in his chariot.
25Then Jehu said to Bidkar his captain, “Pick him up, and throw him in the plot of the field of Naboth the Jezreelite; for remember how, when you and I rode together after Ahab his father, Yahweh laid this burden on him:
25 Kala Yehu ne nga sooja Bidkar se: «A sambu k'a furu Nabot Yezreyel bora faro ra. Zama ni ga fongu alwaato kaŋ in da nin kaaru k'a kaayo Ahab banda gana, Rabbi na alhakko din dake a boŋ, ka ne:
25Then said [Jehu] to Bidkar his captain, Take up, and cast him in the portion of the field of Naboth the Jezreelite; for remember how that, when I and thou rode together after Ahab his father, Jehovah laid this burden upon him:
26‘Surely I have seen yesterday the blood of Naboth, and the blood of his sons,’ says Yahweh; ‘and I will repay you in this plot of ground,’ says Yahweh. Now therefore take and cast him onto the plot of ground, according to the word of Yahweh.”
26 ‹Sikka si bi ay di Nabot d'a izey kuri.› Yaadin Rabbi ne. ‹Ay mo na banandi te ni se faro ra,› Rabbi ne. Sohõ kala ni m'a sambu k'a furu faro ra, Rabbi sanno boŋ.»
26Surely I have seen yesterday the blood of Naboth, and the blood of his sons, saith Jehovah; and I will requite thee in this plat, saith Jehovah. Now therefore take and cast him into the plat [of ground], according to the word of Jehovah.
27But when Ahaziah the king of Judah saw this, he fled by the way of the garden house. Jehu followed after him, and said, “Strike him also in the chariot!” They struck him at the ascent of Gur, which is by Ibleam. He fled to Megiddo, and died there.
27 Amma alwaato kaŋ Yahuda bonkoono Ahaziya di woodin, a na Bayt-Hagan fonda gana ka zuru. Yehu mo n'a ce gana. A ne: «Wa nga mo kar torka ra.» I n'a kar mo, Gur zijanta ra, kaŋ go Ibleyam jarga. A zuru ka koy hala Mejiddo. Noodin no a bu.
27But when Ahaziah the king of Judah saw this, he fled by the way of the garden-house. And Jehu followed after him, and said, Smite him also in the chariot: [and they smote him] at the ascent of Gur, which is by Ibleam. And he fled to Megiddo, and died there.
28His servants carried him in a chariot to Jerusalem, and buried him in his tomb with his fathers in the city of David.
28 A bannyey n'a sambu torko ra ka kond'a Urusalima. I n'a fiji nga saara ra a kaayey banda Dawda birno ra.
28And his servants carried him in a chariot to Jerusalem, and buried him in his sepulchre with his fathers in the city of David.
29In the eleventh year of Joram the son of Ahab began Ahaziah to reign over Judah.
29 Ahab haama Yoram mayra jiiri way cindi fa ra no Ahaziya te bonkooni Yahuda boŋ.
29And in the eleventh year of Joram the son of Ahab began Ahaziah to reign over Judah.
30When Jehu had come to Jezreel, Jezebel heard of it; and she painted her eyes, and attired her head, and looked out at the window.
30 Saaya kaŋ Yehu kaa Yezreyel, Yezabel maa baaru. Kal a na nga moy taalam, a na nga boŋ haw ka niigaw finetaro gaa.
30And when Jehu was come to Jezreel, Jezebel heard of it; and she painted her eyes, and attired her head, and looked out at the window.
31As Jehu entered in at the gate, she said, “Do you come in peace, Zimri, you murderer of your master?”
31 Kaŋ Yehu furo windi meyo gaa, waybora ne: «Ya nin Zimri, ni windi koyo wiikwa, baani mo no?»
31And as Jehu entered in at the gate, she said, Is it peace, thou Zimri, thy master's murderer?
32He lifted up his face to the window, and said, “Who is on my side? Who?” Two or three eunuchs looked out at him.
32 Kala Yehu na nga moyduma sambu finetaro do haray ka ne: «May no ay do haray? May no?» Kala mantaw hinka wala ihinza n'a niigaw.
32And he lifted up his face to the window, and said, Who is on my side? who? And there looked out to him two or three eunuchs.
33He said, “Throw her down!” So they threw her down; and some of her blood was sprinkled on the wall, and on the horses. Then he trampled her under foot.
33 Yehu ne: «W'a jindaw ganda!» Kal i n'a jindaw ganda. A kuro dooru cinaro da bariyey boŋ. Kal i n'a taamu-taamu ngey ce taamey cire.
33And he said, Throw her down. So they threw her down; and some of her blood was sprinkled on the wall, and on the horses: and he trod her under foot.
34When he had come in, he ate and drink; and he said, “See now to this cursed woman, and bury her; for she is a king’s daughter.”
34 Saaya kaŋ Yehu furo, a ŋwa ka haŋ. Kal a ne: «Wa laakal da wayboro laala din, i m'a fiji mo, zama bonkooni ize no.»
34And when he was come in, he did eat and drink; and he said, See now to this cursed woman, and bury her; for she is a king's daughter.
35They went to bury her; but they found no more of her than the skull, and the feet, and the palms of her hands.
35 I koy mo zama ngey m'a fiji se, amma i mana gar kal a boŋ kurbo d'a cey d'a kambe faata hinne.
35And they went to bury her; but they found no more of her than the skull, and the feet, and the palms of her hands.
36Therefore they came back, and told him. He said, “This is the word of Yahweh, which he spoke by his servant Elijah the Tishbite, saying, ‘The dogs will eat the flesh of Jezebel on the plot of Jezreel,
36 I ye ka kaa ka ci Yehu se. A ne: «Rabbi sanno neeya, kaŋ a ci nga annabo Iliya Tisbi bora me ra, ka ne: ‹Yezreyel faro ra no hansey ga Yezabel hamo ŋwa.
36Wherefore they came back, and told him. And he said, This is the word of Jehovah, which he spake by his servant Elijah the Tishbite, saying, In the portion of Jezreel shall the dogs eat the flesh of Jezebel;
37and the body of Jezebel shall be as dung on the face of the field in the portion of Jezreel, so that they shall not say, “This is Jezebel.”’”
37 Yezabel buukwa mo ga ciya sanda birji faro moyduma boŋ, Yezreyel faro ra, hal i si hin ka ne Yezabel no woone.› »
37and the body of Jezebel shall be as dung upon the face of the field in the portion of Jezreel, so that they shall not say, This is Jezebel.
