Galatians

4

1But I say that so long as the heir is a child, he is no different from a bondservant, though he is lord of all;
1 Amma ay ga ne araŋ se: alwaati kulu kaŋ tubukwa go zanka, hay kulu man'a fay da bannya, baa kaŋ nga no ga ti hay kulu koyo.
1But I say that so long as the heir is a child, he differeth nothing from a bondservant though he is lord of all;
2but is under guardians and stewards until the day appointed by the father.
2 Amma a go yaarikwa da jine funa kambe ra hala hano kaŋ hane baabo kosu a se.
2but is under guardians and stewards until the day appointed of the father.
3So we also, when we were children, were held in bondage under the elemental principles of the world.
3 Yaadin no iri mo. Waato kaŋ iri go zankayaŋ, iri go tamtaray ra ndunnya hayey se.
3So we also, when we were children, were held in bondage under the rudiments of the world:
4But when the fullness of the time came, God sent out his Son, born to a woman, born under the law,
4 Amma kaŋ alwaato to, Irikoy na nga Izo donton. Wayboro no k'a hay. A hay mo asariya fonda ra,
4but when the fulness of the time came, God sent forth his Son, born of a woman, born under the law,
5that he might redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of children.
5 hal a ma du ka borey kaŋ go asariya fonda ra fansa, hal iri ma du izetaray daŋyaŋ do ka ciya Irikoy izeyaŋ.
5that he might redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.
6And because you are children, God sent out the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, “Abba, Father!”
6 Za kaŋ araŋ ya izeyaŋ no, Irikoy na Biya _Hanno|_ donton araŋ biney ra kaŋ ga hẽ ka ne: «Baaba, ay Baaba!» Biya _Hanna|_ din, Irikoy Izo do no a fun.
6And because ye are sons, God sent forth the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, crying, Abba, Father.
7So you are no longer a bondservant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.
7 Yaadin gaa ni ya manti bannya no koyne, amma ni ya ize no. Za kaŋ ni ya ize no, ni ya tubuko mo no Irikoy do.
7So that thou art no longer a bondservant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir through God.
8However at that time, not knowing God, you were in bondage to those who by nature are not gods.
8 Waato din kaŋ araŋ mana Irikoy bay, araŋ goro tamtaray ra toorey se kaŋ yaŋ manti irikoyyaŋ no da cimi.
8Howbeit at that time, not knowing God, ye were in bondage to them that by nature are no gods:
9But now that you have come to know God, or rather to be known by God, why do you turn back again to the weak and miserable elemental principles, to which you desire to be in bondage all over again?
9 Amma sohõ kaŋ araŋ ga Irikoy bay, wala a ga bisa ay ma ne Irikoy g'araŋ bay, mate no araŋ ga te ka bare ka ye ndunnya hayey do kaŋ gazanteyaŋ no, yaamoyaŋ mo no? Mate no araŋ ga te ka miila araŋ ma ye hayey din tamtara ra?
9but now that ye have come to know God, or rather to be known by God, how turn ye back again to the weak and beggarly rudiments, whereunto ye desire to be in bondage over again?
10You observe days, months, seasons, and years.
10 Araŋ ga jirbey, da handey, da alwaatey, da jiirey lasaabu!
10Ye observe days, and months, and seasons, and years.
11I am afraid for you, that I might have wasted my labor for you.
11 Ay goono ga humburu araŋ se a ma si koy te goyo kaŋ ay te araŋ game ra ma ciya yaamo!
11I am afraid of you, lest by any means I have bestowed labor upon you in vain.
12I beg you, brothers, become as I am, for I also have become as you are. You did me no wrong,
12 Ay nya-izey, ay g'araŋ ŋwaaray, araŋ ma bara danga ay cine, zama ay mo goro danga araŋ cine. Araŋ mana taali kulu te ay se.
12I beseech you, brethren, become as I [am], for I also [am become] as ye [are]. Ye did me no wrong:
13but you know that because of weakness of the flesh I preached the Good News to you the first time.
13 Araŋ ga bay mo kaŋ ay jante no. Woodin sabbay se no ay na Baaru Hanna waazu araŋ se za sintina.
13but ye know that because of an infirmity of the flesh I preached the gospel unto you the first time:
14That which was a temptation to you in my flesh, you didn’t despise nor reject; but you received me as an angel of God, even as Christ Jesus.
14 Amma baa kaŋ ay janta ciya siyaŋ hari araŋ se, araŋ mana dond'ay ka wangu ay. Amma danga Irikoy malayka cine no araŋ n'ay ta, danga Almasihu Yesu cine.
14and that which was a temptation to you in my flesh ye despised not, nor rejected; but ye received me as an angel of God, [even] as Christ Jesus.
15What was the blessing you enjoyed? For I testify to you that, if possible, you would have plucked out your eyes and given them to me.
15 Man gaa albarka din kaŋ go araŋ se doŋ? Zama ay goono g'araŋ seeda, d'a hin ka te, doŋ araŋ n'araŋ moy dagu k'ay no nd'ey.
15Where then is that gratulation of yourselves? for I bear you witness, that, if possible, ye would have plucked out your eyes and given them to me.
16So then, have I become your enemy by telling you the truth?
16 Yaadin gaa, sohõ ay ciya araŋ ibare zama ay goono ga cimi ci araŋ se, wala?
16So then am I become your enemy, by telling you the truth?
17They zealously seek you in no good way. No, they desire to alienate you, that you may seek them.
17 Borey din kaŋ goono g'araŋ ceeci nda anniya sinda miila hanno bo. Amma i ga ba ngey m'araŋ kaa waani zama araŋ ma ngey ceeci nda anniya.
17They zealously seek you in no good way; nay, they desire to shut you out, that ye may seek them.
18But it is always good to be zealous in a good cause, and not only when I am present with you.
18 Amma a ga boori boro ma bara nda anniya hari hanno ceeciyaŋ ra alwaati kulu, manti alwaati kaŋ ay go araŋ do hinne.
18But it is good to be zealously sought in a good matter at all times, and not only when I am present with you.
19My little children, of whom I am again in travail until Christ is formed in you—
19 Ay ize kayney, ay goono ga ye ka maa hay-zaŋay araŋ sabbay se hal Almasihu ma te ka boori araŋ ra!
19My little children, of whom I am again in travail until Christ be formed in you--
20but I could wish to be present with you now, and to change my tone, for I am perplexed about you.
20 Ay ga ba ay ma ye araŋ do sohõ hal ay m'ay jinda barmay, zama ay go boŋ-haway ra araŋ sabbay se.
20but I could wish to be present with you now, and to change my tone; for I am perplexed about you.
21Tell me, you that desire to be under the law, don’t you listen to the law?
21 Wa ci ay se, araŋ wo kaŋ yaŋ ga ba araŋ ma ye asariya* ganayaŋ ra: araŋ mana maa haŋ kaŋ asariya ci no?
21Tell me, ye that desire to be under the law, do ye not hear the law?
22For it is written that Abraham had two sons, one by the handmaid, and one by the free woman.
22 Zama i hantum ka ne kaŋ Ibrahim du ize hinka. Afa koŋŋa do no a du a, afa mo wayboro burcino do.
22For it is written, that Abraham had two sons, one by the handmaid, and one by the freewoman.
23However, the son by the handmaid was born according to the flesh, but the son by the free woman was born through promise.
23 Day koŋŋa izo, i n'a hay gaaham miila do, amma wayboro burcino izo, i n'a hay Irikoy alkawlo boŋ.
23Howbeit the [son] by the handmaid is born after the flesh; but the [son] by the freewoman [is born] through promise.
24These things contain an allegory, for these are two covenants. One is from Mount Sinai, bearing children to bondage, which is Hagar.
24 Hayey wo ciya misa, zama wayborey din ga hima alkawli hinka. Afa, Sinayi tondo do no a fun, wo kaŋ goono ga izeyaŋ hay tamtaray se, danga Hajaratu nooya.
24Which things contain an allegory: for these [women] are two covenants; one from mount Sinai, bearing children unto bondage, which is Hagar.
25For this Hagar is Mount Sinai in Arabia, and answers to the Jerusalem that exists now, for she is in bondage with her children.
25 Zama Hajaratu wo, misa cine, a ga hima Sinayi tondo kaŋ go Laarabey* laabo ra. A ga ciya sanda Urusalima, sohõ wano, kaŋ nga nda nga izey go tamtaray ra.
25Now this Hagar is mount Sinai in Arabia and answereth to the Jerusalem that now is: for she is in bondage with her children.
26But the Jerusalem that is above is free, which is the mother of us all.
26 Amma Urusalima, beene wano, kaŋ ga ti iri nya, ya burcini no.
26But the Jerusalem that is above is free, which is our mother.
27For it is written, “Rejoice, you barren who don’t bear. Break forth and shout, you that don’t travail. For more are the children of the desolate than of her who has a husband.”
27 Zama i hantum ka ne: «Ya nin wayguno kaŋ mana hay, ma farhã! Nin kaŋ mana maa hay-zaŋay, ma jinde sambu ka cilili bine kaani sabbay se, zama waybora kaŋ go goboro, a izey ga baa da waybora kaŋ gonda kurnye wane.»
27For it is written, Rejoice, thou barren that bearest not; Break forth and cry, thou that travailest not: For more are the children of the desolate than of her that hath the husband.
28Now we, brothers, as Isaac was, are children of promise.
28 Amma araŋ wo, ay nya-izey, araŋ ya alkawli izeyaŋ no danga Isaka cine.
28Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are children of promise.
29But as then, he who was born according to the flesh persecuted him who was born according to the Spirit, so also it is now.
29 Amma danga mate kaŋ izo kaŋ i hay gaaham miila do na izo kaŋ i hay _Irikoy|_ Biya do gurzugandi, yaadin mo no sohõ.
29But as then he that was born after the flesh persecuted him [that was born] after the Spirit, so also it is now.
30However what does the Scripture say? “Throw out the handmaid and her son, for the son of the handmaid will not inherit with the son of the free woman.”
30 Amma ifo no Irikoy Tira Hanna ci? A ne: «Ni ma koŋŋa da nga izo gaaray, zama koŋŋa izo si du tubu wayboro burcino izo banda.»
30Howbeit what saith the scripture? Cast out the handmaid and her son: for the son of the handmaid shall not inherit with the son of the freewoman.
31So then, brothers, we are not children of a handmaid, but of the free woman.
31 Yaadin gaa, nya-izey, iri wo manti koŋŋa izeyaŋ no, amma iri ya wayboro burcino izeyaŋ no.
31Wherefore, brethren, we are not children of a handmaid, but of the freewoman.
