Hosea

7

1When I would heal Israel, then the iniquity of Ephraim is uncovered, also the wickedness of Samaria; for they commit falsehood, and the thief enters in, and the gang of robbers ravages outside.
1 Waati kaŋ ay miila ay ma Israyla no baani, Kala Ifraymu taali beero, da Samariya goy laaley go, I bangay, zama i ga hiila te. Zay go ga kaa, Fondo kosaraykoy marga mo go ga kom taray.
1When I would heal Israel, then is the iniquity of Ephraim uncovered, and the wickedness of Samaria; for they commit falsehood, and the thief entereth in, and the troop of robbers ravageth without.
2They don’t consider in their hearts that I remember all their wickedness. Now their own deeds have engulfed them. They are before my face.
2 I si lasaabu ngey biney ra kaŋ ay ga laakal da ngey goy laaley. Sohõ i te-goyey margu i gaa k'i windi, i go ay jine mo.
2And they consider not in their hearts that I remember all their wickedness: now have their own doings beset them about; they are before my face.
3They make the king glad with their wickedness, and the princes with their lies.
3 I ga naŋ bonkoono bina ma farhã ngey goy laaley do, Koy kayney mo ma farhã ngey hiiley do.
3They make the king glad with their wickedness, and the princes with their lies.
4They are all adulterers. They are burning like an oven that the baker stops stirring, from the kneading of the dough, until it is leavened.
4 I kulu mo zina-teeriyaŋ no, I ga hima feema kaŋ buuru tonko dungandi, A ga danji funsu ka fay d'a hala buuru motta kaŋ a ga diibi ma fuuru.
4They are all adulterers; they are as an oven heated by the baker; he ceaseth to stir [the fire], from the kneading of the dough, until it be leavened.
5On the day of our king, the princes made themselves sick with the heat of wine. He joined his hand with mockers.
5 Iri bonkoono zaaro ra, Koy kayney ga ngey laakaley bare da duvan haŋyaŋ konni. Ngey nda dondakoy ga care kambe di.
5On the day of our king the princes made themselves sick with the heat of wine; he stretched out his hand with scoffers.
6For they have prepared their heart like an oven, while they lie in wait. Their baker sleeps all the night. In the morning it burns as a flaming fire.
6 Zama i na ngey biney soola danga feema, i go ga gum. I futa ga hanna ka dullu kaa, Susubay mo a ga ton danga danji beeleyaŋ cine.
6For they have made ready their heart like an oven, while they lie in wait: their baker sleepeth all the night; in the morning it burneth as a flaming fire.
7They are all hot as an oven, and devour their judges. All their kings have fallen. There is no one among them who calls to me.
7 I kulu ga koroŋ danga feema, I go ga ngey mayraykoyey ŋwa. I bonkooney kulu kaŋ, Amma i ra sinda baa boro fo kaŋ n'ay ce.
7They are all hot as an oven, and devour their judges; all their kings are fallen: there is none among them that calleth unto me.
8Ephraim, he mixes himself among the nations. Ephraim is a pancake not turned over.
8 Ifraymu jama wo diibi dumi cindey ra, Ifraymu jama ciya maasa kaŋ i mana bare.
8Ephraim, he mixeth himself among the peoples; Ephraim is a cake not turned.
9Strangers have devoured his strength, and he doesn’t realize it. Indeed, gray hairs are here and there on him, and he doesn’t realize it.
9 Yawey n'a gaabo ŋwa, nga wo mana bay a gaa. A gonda hamni kwaaray nangu waani-waani nga boŋo gaa, Woodin mo, a mana bay a gaa.
9Strangers have devoured his strength, and he knoweth [it] not: yea, gray hairs are here and there upon him, and he knoweth [it] not.
10The pride of Israel testifies to his face; yet they haven’t returned to Yahweh their God, nor sought him, for all this.
10 Baa kaŋ Israyla fooma go ga seeda a gaa, Kulu nda yaadin i mana ye ka kaa Rabbi ngey Irikoyo do, I man'a ceeci mo woodin kulu ra.
10And the pride of Israel doth testify to his face: yet they have not returned unto Jehovah their God, nor sought him, for all this.
11“Ephraim is like an easily deceived dove, without understanding. They call to Egypt. They go to Assyria.
11 Ifraymu jama ciya danga koloŋay kaŋ sinda carmay wala laakal. I na Misira ce, gaa no i ye ka koy Assiriya do.
11And Ephraim is like a silly dove, without understanding: they call unto Egypt, they go to Assyria.
12When they go, I will spread my net on them. I will bring them down like the birds of the sky. I will chastise them, as their congregation has heard.
12 Waati kaŋ i ga koy ay g'ay taaro daaru i boŋ, Ay g'i di danga beene curey cine, Ay g'i gooji mo danga mate kaŋ cine i jama maa baaru.
12When they shall go, I will spread my net upon them; I will bring them down as the birds of the heavens; I will chastise them, as their congregation hath heard.
13Woe to them! For they have wandered from me. Destruction to them! For they have trespassed against me. Though I would redeem them, yet they have spoken lies against me.
13 Kaari ngey! Zama i daray ka fay d'ay wo. Halaciyaŋ ga kaa i gaa, zama i murte ay gaa. Baa kaŋ ay ga miila ay m'i fansa, Kulu nda yaadin i taari ay boŋ.
13Woe unto them! for they have wandered from me; destruction unto them! for they have trespassed against me: though I would redeem them, yet they have spoken lies against me.
14They haven’t cried to me with their heart, but they howl on their beds. They assemble themselves for grain and new wine. They turn away from me.
14 I man'ay ce da ngey biney waati kaŋ i ga kuuwa ngey dimey boŋ. I ga margu care banda mo ntaaso nda reyzin* hari se, I ga banda bare ay gaa mo.
14And they have not cried unto me with their heart, but they howl upon their beds: they assemble themselves for grain and new wine; they rebel against me.
15Though I have taught and strengthened their arms, yet they plot evil against me.
15 Baa kaŋ ay n'i dondonandi, k'i kambey gaabandi, Kulu nda yaadin i fonguyaŋey ya laala dabariyaŋ no ay boŋ.
15Though I have taught and strengthened their arms, yet do they devise mischief against me.
16They return, but not to the Most High. They are like a faulty bow. Their princes will fall by the sword for the rage of their tongue. This will be their derision in the land of Egypt.
16 I ga ye ka kaa, Day manti Beeray-Beeri-Koyo do haray bo. I ga hima danga biraw kaŋ siiri. Takuba g'i koyey zeeri i deeney futa sabbay se. Woodin ga ciya i se hahaarayaŋ hari Misira laabo ra.
16They return, but not to [him that is] on high; they are like a deceitful bow; their princes shall fall by the sword for the rage of their tongue: this shall be their derision in the land of Egypt.
