Hosea

9

1Don’t rejoice, Israel, to jubilation like the nations; for you were unfaithful to your God. You love the wages of a prostitute at every grain threshing floor.
1 Ya Israyla, ma si farhã da bine kaani te danga dumi cindey cine, Zama ni na ni Irikoyo naŋ ka kaaruwataray* gana. Ni n'a alhakku bini mo, karayaŋ gangani kulu ra.
1Rejoice not, O Israel, for joy, like the peoples; for thou hast played the harlot, [departing] from thy God; thou hast loved hire upon every grain-floor.
2The threshing floor and the winepress won’t feed them, and the new wine will fail her.
2 Karayaŋ gangani da reyzin* kankamyaŋ do s'i kungandi. Reyzin hari mo ga gaze i se.
2The threshing-floor and the winepress shall not feed them, and the new wine shall fail her.
3They won’t dwell in Yahweh’s land; but Ephraim will return to Egypt, and they will eat unclean food in Assyria.
3 I si goro Rabbi laabo ra, Amma Ifraymu ga ye ka ye Misira koyne, Assiriya ra mo i ga harram ŋwa.
3They shall not dwell in Jehovah's land; but Ephraim shall return to Egypt, and they shall eat unclean food in Assyria.
4They won’t pour out wine offerings to Yahweh, neither will they be pleasing to him. Their sacrifices will be to them like the bread of mourners; all who eat of it will be polluted; for their bread will be for their appetite. It will not come into the house of Yahweh.
4 I si duvan sargay dooru Rabbi se, I si ciya a se yadda hari. I sargayey ga ciya danga bu-baray-koy ŋwaari. Boro kulu kaŋ g'a ŋwa ga ciya harram, Zama i ŋwaaro ga ciya ngey bumbey ibaay wane. A si furo Irikoy windo ra bo.
4They shall not pour out wine-offerings to Jehovah, neither shall they be pleasing unto him: their sacrifices shall be unto them as the bread of mourners; all that eat thereof shall be polluted; for their bread shall be for their appetite; it shall not come into the house of Jehovah.
5What will you do in the day of solemn assembly, and in the day of the feast of Yahweh?
5 Ifo no araŋ ga te sududuyaŋ marga zaaro ra, Da Rabbi batu zaaro ra mo?
5What will ye do in the day of solemn assembly, and in the day of the feast of Jehovah?
6For, behold, they have gone away from destruction. Egypt will gather them up. Memphis will bury them. Nettles will possess their pleasant things of silver. Thorns will be in their tents.
6 Guna, i ga zuru halaciyaŋ se, Kulu nda yaadin Misira g'i ku. Memfis ra no i g'i fiji. Malli subu no g'i nzarfu arzakey daabu, Karjiyaŋ mo ga te i kuuru fuwey ra.
6For, lo, they are gone away from destruction; [yet] Egypt shall gather them up, Memphis shall bury them; their pleasant things of silver, nettles shall possess them; thorns shall be in their tents.
7The days of visitation have come. The days of reckoning have come. Israel will consider the prophet to be a fool, and the man who is inspired to be insane, because of the abundance of your sins, and because your hostility is great.
7The days of visitation are come, the days of recompense are come; Israel shall know it: the prophet is a fool, the man that hath the spirit is mad, for the abundance of thine iniquity, and because the enmity is great.
8A prophet watches over Ephraim with my God. A fowler’s snare is on all of his paths, and hostility in the house of his God.
8 Waato Ifraymu ga ti batuko ay Irikoyo banda, Annabi mo no waato. Amma sohõ gawey asuuta go a fondey kulu ra. Wongay go mo a Irikoyo windo ra.
8Ephraim [was] a watchman with my God: as for the prophet, a fowler's snare is in all his ways, [and] enmity in the house of his God.
9They have deeply corrupted themselves, as in the days of Gibeah. He will remember their iniquity. He will punish them for their sins.
9 I na ngey boŋ ziibandi gumo, Danga Jibeya jirbey ra cine. A ga fongu i taalo gaa, a g'i zunubey bana.
9They have deeply corrupted themselves, as in the days of Gibeah: he will remember their iniquity, he will visit their sins.
10I found Israel like grapes in the wilderness. I saw your fathers as the first ripe in the fig tree at its first season; but they came to Baal Peor, and consecrated themselves to the shameful thing, and became abominable like that which they loved.
10 Ay na Israyla gar danga ganjo ra reyzin izeyaŋ cine. Ay di araŋ kaayey danga tuuri ize hayyaŋ sintina jeejay nya gaa, jiiro kaŋ a sintin ka hay. Amma i kaa Baal-Peyor ka ngey boŋ fay waani haawi haro din se, Hal i ziibi danga haya kaŋ i ga ba din cine.
10I found Israel like grapes in the wilderness; I saw your fathers as the first-ripe in the fig-tree at its first season: but they came to Baal-peor, and consecrated themselves unto the shameful thing, and became abominable like that which they loved.
11As for Ephraim, their glory will fly away like a bird. There will be no birth, none with child, and no conception.
11 Ifraymu binde, a darza ga deesi ka dira danga curo cine. Boro kaŋ ga hay, wala boro kaŋ gonda gunde, Wala baa boro kaŋ ga gunde sambu, i si no.
11As for Ephraim, their glory shall fly away like a bird: there shall be no birth, and none with child, and no conception.
12Though they bring up their children, yet I will bereave them, so that not a man shall be left. Indeed, woe also to them when I depart from them!
12 Baa i na ngey izey biiri, Kulu nda yaadin ay g'i wi, Hala baa alboro folloŋ si cindi. Oho mo, kaari ngey! saaya kaŋ ay na banda bare i gaa.
12Though they bring up their children, yet will I bereave them, so that not a man shall be left: yea, woe also to them when I depart from them!
13I have seen Ephraim, like Tyre, planted in a pleasant place; but Ephraim will bring out his children to the murderer.
13 Mate kaŋ ay di Ifraymu, I n'a duma albarka nangu ra danga Tir kwaara cine. Amma Ifraymu ga fatta nda nga izey ka kond'ey naŋ kaŋ i g'i wi.
13Ephraim, like as I have seen Tyre, is planted in a pleasant place: but Ephraim shall bring out his children to the slayer.
14Give them—Yahweh what will you give? Give them a miscarrying womb and dry breasts.
14 Ya Rabbi, m'i no -- ifo no ni ga no i se binde? To, ma n'i no gunde kaŋ ga te gunde hasaraw da fafa kooguyaŋ.
14Give them, O Jehovah-what wilt thou give? give them a miscarrying womb and dry breasts.
15“All their wickedness is in Gilgal; for there I hated them. Because of the wickedness of their deeds I will drive them out of my house! I will love them no more. All their princes are rebels.
15 I laalayaŋo kulu, Jilgal no a go. Noodin no ay sintin ka konn'ey. Ay g'i gaaray ka kaa ay windo ra i goy laaley sabbay se. Ay si ye ka ba r'ey mo. I koyey kulu murtante yaŋ no.
15All their wickedness is in Gilgal; for there I hated them: because of the wickedness of their doings I will drive them out of my house; I will love them no more; all their princes are revolters.
16Ephraim is struck. Their root has dried up. They will bear no fruit. Even though they bring forth, yet I will kill the beloved ones of their womb.”
16 I na Ifraymu kar gumo, hal a kaajey koogu. I si ga izeyaŋ hay. Oho, baa i ga hay, Kal ay m'i ize gundey kaŋ i ga ba din wi.
16Ephraim is smitten, their root is dried up, they shall bear no fruit: yea, though they bring forth, yet will I slay the beloved fruit of their womb.
17My God will cast them away, because they did not listen to him; and they will be wanderers among the nations.
17 Ay Irikoyo g'i furu zama i mana hanga jeeri a se. I ga ciya dira-ka-windiko-yaŋ ndunnya dumi cindey game ra.
17My God will cast them away, because they did not hearken unto him; and they shall be wanderers among the nations.
