John

10

1 “Most certainly, I tell you, one who doesn’t enter by the door into the sheep fold, but climbs up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber.
1 «Haciika, haciika ay ga ci araŋ se: boro kaŋ si furo feeji kalo meyo gaa, amma a ga kaaru nangu fo haray, bora din ya zay da komko no.
1Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the fold of the sheep, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber.
2 But one who enters in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep.
2 Amma boro kaŋ ga furo meyo gaa haray ya feeji kuruko no.
2But he that entereth in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep.
3 The gatekeeper opens the gate for him, and the sheep listen to his voice. He calls his own sheep by name, and leads them out.
3 Kalo me gaaykwa ga fiti a se, feejey mo ga maa a jinde. A ga nga bumbo feejey ce nda ngey maayey ka kond'ey taray.
3To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out.
4 Whenever he brings out his own sheep, he goes before them, and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice.
4 Waati kaŋ a ga nga waney kulu kaa taray, a ga furo i jine. Feejey mo g'a gana, zama i g'a jinda bay.
4When he hath put forth all his own, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice.
5 They will by no means follow a stranger, but will flee from him; for they don’t know the voice of strangers.”
5 I si yaw gana abada, amma i ga zuru a se no, zama i si yawey jinde bay.»
5And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers.
6Jesus spoke this parable to them, but they didn’t understand what he was telling them.
6 Misa wo no Yesu ci i se, amma i mana faham da sanney din kaŋ a ci ngey se.
6This parable spake Jesus unto them: but they understood not what things they were which he spake unto them.
7Jesus therefore said to them again, “Most certainly, I tell you, I am the sheep’s door.
7 Yesu ye ka ne i se koyne: «Haciika, haciika ay ga ci araŋ se: ay no ga ti feeji kalo meyo.
7Jesus therefore said unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep.
8 All who came before me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep didn’t listen to them.
8 Borey kulu kaŋ n'ay jin, zay da komko yaŋ no, amma feejey mana hangan i se.
8All that came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them.
9 I am the door. If anyone enters in by me, he will be saved, and will go in and go out, and will find pasture.
9 Ay no ga ti meyo. Boro kulu kaŋ ga furo ay do ga du faaba. A ga furo kalo ra mo ka fatta ka du kuray do.
9I am the door; by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and go out, and shall find pasture.
10 The thief only comes to steal, kill, and destroy. I came that they may have life, and may have it abundantly.
10 Zay si kaa kala zaytaray da wiyaŋ da halaciyaŋ se. Ay wo kaa zama i ma du fundi, i ma du a mo da baayaŋ.
10The thief cometh not, but that he may steal, and kill, and destroy: I came that they may have life, and may have [it] abundantly.
11 I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.
11 Ay no ga ti kuruko hanna. Kuruko hanno ga nga fundo no feejey sabbay se.
11I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd layeth down his life for the sheep.
12 He who is a hired hand, and not a shepherd, who doesn’t own the sheep, sees the wolf coming, leaves the sheep, and flees. The wolf snatches the sheep, and scatters them.
12 Goy-ize kaŋ ga goy te alhakku se, kaŋ manti kuruko no, kaŋ feejey manti a wane yaŋ mo no, d'a di sakali* go kaa, a ga zuru ka feejey naŋ no. Sakalo mo g'i hamay k'i say-say.
12He that is a hireling, and not a shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, beholdeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth, and the wolf snatcheth them, and scattereth [them]:
13 The hired hand flees because he is a hired hand, and doesn’t care for the sheep.
13 Goy-izo din ga zuru zama a baa si nda feejey.
13[he fleeth] because he is a hireling, and careth not for the sheep.
14 I am the good shepherd. I know my own, and I’m known by my own;
14 Ay no ga ti kuruko hanna. Ay g'ay waney bay, ay waney mo g'ay bay
14I am the good shepherd; and I know mine own, and mine own know me,
15 even as the Father knows me, and I know the Father. I lay down my life for the sheep.
15 sanda mate kaŋ cine Baaba g'ay bay, ay mo ga Baaba bay. Ay g'ay fundo no mo feejey sabbay se.
15even as the Father knoweth me, and I know the Father; and I lay down my life for the sheep.
16 I have other sheep, which are not of this fold. I must bring them also, and they will hear my voice. They will become one flock with one shepherd.
16 Ay gonda feeji fooyaŋ mo kaŋ manti kalo wo wane. Woodin yaŋ mo tilas kal ay ma kand'ey. I ga maa ay jinde ka ciya kuru folloŋ kaŋ gonda kuruko folloŋ.
16And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice: and they shall become one flock, one shepherd.
17 Therefore the Father loves me, because I lay down my life, that I may take it again.
17 Woone sabbay se no Baaba ga ba ay: zama ay g'ay fundo no, ay ma ye k'a ta koyne.
17Therefore doth the Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I may take it again.
18 No one takes it away from me, but I lay it down by myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. I received this commandment from my Father.”
18 Boro kulu si no kaŋ g'a ta ay gaa, amma ay boŋ se no ay g'a no. Ay gonda dabari ay m'a no, ay gonda dabari mo ay ma ye k'a ta koyne. Lordo wo, ay Baabo do no ay du a.»
18No one taketh it away from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment received I from my Father.
19Therefore a division arose again among the Jews because of these words.
19 Kakaw ye ka tun Yahudancey game ra koyne sanney din sabbay se.
19There arose a division again among the Jews because of these words.
20Many of them said, “He has a demon, and is insane! Why do you listen to him?”
20 I ra boro boobo goono ga ne: «A gonda follay, a boŋo koma! Ifo se no araŋ ga hangan a se?»
20And many of them said, He hath a demon, and is mad; why hear ye him?
21Others said, “These are not the sayings of one possessed by a demon. It isn’t possible for a demon to open the eyes of the blind, is it?”
21 Boro fooyaŋ goono ga ne: «Sanney din manti follokom wane no. Follay ga hin ka danawey moy fiti no?»
21Others said, These are not the sayings of one possessed with a demon. Can a demon open the eyes of the blind?
22It was the Feast of the Dedication at Jerusalem.
22 Alwaato din i goono ga Hanandiyaŋ Bato* te Urusalima, hargu alwaato ra mo no.
22And it was the feast of the dedication at Jerusalem:
23It was winter, and Jesus was walking in the temple, in Solomon’s porch.
23 Yesu goono ga windi Irikoy windo ra Suleymanu tanda ra.
23it was winter; and Jesus was walking in the temple in Solomon's porch.
24The Jews therefore came around him and said to him, “How long will you hold us in suspense? If you are the Christ, tell us plainly.”
24 Yahudancey mo n'a windi ka ne a se: «Kala waatifo no ni g'iri kaa baaru? Da ni ya Almasihu no, ma ci iri se taray kwaaray.»
24The Jews therefore came round about him, and said unto him, How long dost thou hold us in suspense? If thou art the Christ, tell us plainly.
25Jesus answered them, “I told you, and you don’t believe. The works that I do in my Father’s name, these testify about me.
25 Yesu tu i se ka ne: «Ay ci araŋ se, amma araŋ mana cimandi. Goyey kaŋ yaŋ ay ga te ay Baaba maa ra, ngey no ga seeda ay boŋ.
25Jesus answered them, I told you, and ye believe not: the works that I do in my Father's name, these bear witness of me.
26 But you don’t believe, because you are not of my sheep, as I told you.
26 Amma araŋ mana cimandi zama manti ay feejey ra no araŋ go.
26But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep.
27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.
27 Ay feejey ga maa ay jinde, ay g'i bay, ngey mo g'ay gana.
27My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
28 I give eternal life to them. They will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand.
28 Ay g'i no fundi hal abada, i si halaci mo, abada. Boro kulu si no mo kaŋ g'i kom ay kambe ra.
28and I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, and no one shall snatch them out of my hand.
29 My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all. No one is able to snatch them out of my Father’s hand.
29 Ay Baabo kaŋ n'i no ay se ga bisa ikulu beeray. Boro kulu si hin k'i kom ay Baabo kambe ra.
29My Father, who hath given [them] unto me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch [them] out of the Father's hand.
30 I and the Father are one.”
30 In d'ay Baaba, iri kulu afolloŋ no.»
30I and the Father are one.
31Therefore Jews took up stones again to stone him.
31 Yahudancey ye ka tondiyaŋ sambu zama ngey m'a catu.
31The Jews took up stones again to stone him.
32Jesus answered them, “I have shown you many good works from my Father. For which of those works do you stone me?”
32 Yesu tu i se ka ne: «Goy hanno boobo no ay cabe araŋ se, ay Baaba do wane yaŋ. I ra goy woofo se no araŋ g'ay catu nda tondi?»
32Jesus answered them, Many good works have I showed you from the Father; for which of those works do ye stone me?
33The Jews answered him, “We don’t stone you for a good work, but for blasphemy: because you, being a man, make yourself God.”
33 Yahudancey tu a se ka ne: «Goy hanno sabbay se iri si ga ni catu bo, amma Irikoy alaasiray sabbay se no, zama nin kaŋ ga ti boro, ni ga ni boŋ himandi Irikoy.»
33The Jews answered him, For a good work we stone thee not, but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God.
34Jesus answered them, “Isn’t it written in your law, ‘I said, you are gods?’
34 Yesu tu ka ne i se: «Manti a go hantumante araŋ asariya ra: ‹Ay ne: Araŋ ya irikoyyaŋ no?›
34Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, ye are gods?
35 If he called them gods, to whom the word of God came (and the Scripture can’t be broken),
35 D'a ne borey kaŋ yaŋ Irikoy sanno kaa i do se ‹irikoyyaŋ› (Irikoy Tira Hanney mo si tun),
35If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came (and the scripture cannot be broken),
36 do you say of him whom the Father sanctified and sent into the world, ‘You blaspheme,’ because I said, ‘I am the Son of God?’
36 araŋ ga ne bora kaŋ Baaba fay waani ka donton ndunnya ra se: ni goono ga Irikoy kayna, zama ay ne ay ya Irikoy Izo no?
36say ye of him, whom the Father sanctified and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am [the] Son of God?
37 If I don’t do the works of my Father, don’t believe me.
37 D'ay s'ay Baaba goyey te, araŋ ma s'ay cimandi.
37If I do not the works of my Father, believe me not.
38 But if I do them, though you don’t believe me, believe the works; that you may know and believe that the Father is in me, and I in the Father.”
38 Amma d'ay g'i te, baa d'araŋ man'ay cimandi, kulu nda yaadin araŋ ma goyey cimandi, zama araŋ ma faham ka bay mo kaŋ Baabo go ay ra, ay mo go Baabo ra.»
38But if I do them, though ye believe not me, believe the works: that ye may know and understand that the Father is in me, and I in the Father.
39They sought again to seize him, and he went out of their hand.
39 I goono ga ye ka ceeci ngey m'a di, amma a koma i se.
39They sought again to take him: and he went forth out of their hand.
40He went away again beyond the Jordan into the place where John was baptizing at first, and there he stayed.
40 A ye ka Urdun daŋandi koyne ka koy nango kaŋ Yohanna jin ka baptisma te, noodin mo no a goro.
40And he went away again beyond the Jordan into the place where John was at the first baptizing; and there be abode.
41Many came to him. They said, “John indeed did no sign, but everything that John said about this man is true.”
41 Boro boobo kaa a do ka ne: «Sikka si, Yohanna mana alaama kulu te, amma hay kulu kaŋ Yohanna ci bora din boŋ, cimi no.»
41And many came unto him; and they said, John indeed did no sign: but all things whatsoever John spake of this man were true.
42Many believed in him there.
42 Boro boobo mo n'a cimandi noodin.
42And many believed on him there.
