1Now the feast of unleavened bread, which is called the Passover, drew near.
1 Sohõ day, buuru kaŋ sinda dalbu bato* maan, wo kaŋ se i ga ne Paska*.
1Now the feast of unleavened bread drew nigh, which is called the Passover.
2The chief priests and the scribes sought how they might put him to death, for they feared the people.
2 Alfaga beerey da asariya dondonandikoy goono ga ceeci mate kaŋ ngey ga te ka Yesu wi, zama i goono ga humburu borey.
2And the chief priests and the scribes sought how they might put him to death; for they feared the people.
3Satan entered into Judas, who was surnamed Iscariot, who was numbered with the twelve.
3 Saytan* binde furo Yahuta Kariyoti bora ra, kaŋ ga ti i way cindi hinka din ra afo.
3And Satan entered into Judas who was called Iscariot, being of the number of the twelve.
4He went away, and talked with the chief priests and captains about how he might deliver him to them.
4 A koy mo ka fakaaray da alfaga beerey da Irikoy windo batukoy jine funey, mate kaŋ cine nga ga Yesu nooyandi i se d'a.
4And he went away, and communed with the chief priests and captains, how he might deliver him unto them.
5They were glad, and agreed to give him money.
5 I maa kaani gumo ka wafaku nd'a ka ne ngey g'a no nooru.
5And they were glad, and covenanted to give him money.
6He consented, and sought an opportunity to deliver him to them in the absence of the multitude.
6 Nga mo yadda. A na daama ceeci mo, zama nga m'a nooyandi i se saaya kaŋ borey marga si noodin.
6And he consented, and sought opportunity to deliver him unto them in the absence of the multitude.
7The day of unleavened bread came, on which the Passover must be sacrificed.
7 Buuru kaŋ sinda dalbu bato* hane kaa ka to, kaŋ ra i ga Paska feeji wi.
7And the day of unleavened bread came, on which the passover must be sacrificed.
8He sent Peter and John, saying, “Go and prepare the Passover for us, that we may eat.”
8 Yesu na Bitros da Yohanna donton ka ne i se: «Araŋ ma koy ka Paska sooley te iri se zama iri ma ŋwa.»
8And he sent Peter and John, saying, Go and make ready for us the passover, that we may eat.
9They said to him, “Where do you want us to prepare?”
9 I ne a se: «Man gaa no ni ga ba iri ma soola te?»
9And they said unto him, Where wilt thou that we make ready?
10He said to them, “Behold, when you have entered into the city, a man carrying a pitcher of water will meet you. Follow him into the house which he enters.
10 A ne i se: «Guna, waato kaŋ araŋ ga furo kwaara ra, boro fo kaŋ go ga hari foobu fo jare ga kubay d'araŋ. Araŋ m'a gana kala windo kaŋ ra a ga furo.
10And he said unto them, Behold, when ye are entered into the city, there shall meet you a man bearing a pitcher of water; follow him into the house whereinto he goeth.
11 Tell the master of the house, ‘The Teacher says to you, “Where is the guest room, where I may eat the Passover with my disciples?”’
11 Araŋ ma ne windikoyo se: ‹Alfa ne ni se: Man yaw fuwo, nango kaŋ ay ga Paska ŋwa, in d'ay talibey?›
11And ye shall say unto the master of the house, The Teacher saith unto thee, Where is the guestchamber, where I shall eat the passover with my disciples?
12 He will show you a large, furnished upper room. Make preparations there.”
12 A ga jidan bisa fu-ize bambata fo cabe araŋ se naŋ kaŋ fu jinay go soolante a ra. Araŋ ma soola te noodin.»
12And he will show you a large upper room furnished: there make ready.
13They went, found things as he had told them, and they prepared the Passover.
13 I koy. I di mate kaŋ a ci ngey se. I na Paska ŋwaaro soola te.
13And they went, and found as he had said unto them: and they made ready the passover.
14When the hour had come, he sat down with the twelve apostles.
14 Waato kaŋ saaya to, a goro, nga nda diyey.
14And when the hour was come, he sat down, and the apostles with him.
15He said to them, “I have earnestly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer,
15 A ne i se: «Ay yalla-yalla no ay ma Paska wo ŋwa araŋ banda, za ay mana taabi haŋ.
15And he said unto them, With desire I have desired to eat this passover with you before I suffer:
16 for I tell you, I will no longer by any means eat of it until it is fulfilled in the Kingdom of God.”
16 Zama ay ga ne araŋ se: ay s'a ŋwa koyne, kala nd'i n'a toonandi Irikoy koytara ra.»
16for I say unto you, I shall not eat it, until it be fulfilled in the kingdom of God.
17He received a cup, and when he had given thanks, he said, “Take this, and share it among yourselves,
17 Kaŋ a na gaasiya sambu ka saabu, gaa no a ne: «Reyzin* haro wo, araŋ m'a haŋ ka no care se.
17And he received a cup, and when he had given thanks, he said, Take this, and divide it among yourselves:
18 for I tell you, I will not drink at all again from the fruit of the vine, until the Kingdom of God comes.”
18 Zama ay ga ne araŋ se: ne ka koy jina ay si ye ka reyzin haro haŋ kala nda Irikoy koytara kaa jina.»
18for I say unto you, I shall not drink from henceforth of the fruit of the vine, until the kingdom of God shall come.
19He took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it, and gave to them, saying, “This is my body which is given for you. Do this in memory of me.”
19 Kaŋ a na buuru mo sambu ka saabu, gaa no a n'a ceeri-ceeri ka no i se, ka ne: «Woone wo ay gaahamo no kaŋ ay goono ga no araŋ sabbay se. Araŋ ma woodin te ka fongu nd'ay.»
19And he took bread, and when he had given thanks, he brake it, and gave to them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me.
20Likewise, he took the cup after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you.
20 Yaadin mo no hawra banda, a na reyzin hari gullayzo sambu ka ne: «Haro wo alkawli tajo no, ay kuro wane, kaŋ a si gay i g'a dooru araŋ sabbay se.
20And the cup in like manner after supper, saying, This cup is the new covenant in my blood, [even] that which is poured out for you.
21 But behold, the hand of him who betrays me is with me on the table.
21 Amma guna, nga kaŋ g'ay nooyandi, a kamba go ay banda taablo boŋ.
21But behold, the hand of him that betrayeth me is with me on the table.
22 The Son of Man indeed goes, as it has been determined, but woe to that man through whom he is betrayed!”
22 Zama Boro* Izo ga koy daahir, sanda mate kaŋ cine i n'a waadu amma kaari bora din kaŋ nga no g'a nooyandi!»
22For the Son of man indeed goeth, as it hath been determined: but woe unto that man through whom he is betrayed!
23They began to question among themselves, which of them it was who would do this thing.
23 I sintin ka care hã boro kaŋ no ngey game ra kaŋ ga ba ka woodin te.
23And they began to question among themselves, which of them it was that should do this thing.
24There arose also a contention among them, which of them was considered to be greatest.
24 Kakaw mo tun i game ra ngey boro woofo no i g'a lasaabu ibeeri.
24And there arose also a contention among them, which of them was accounted to be greatest.
25He said to them, “The kings of the nations lord it over them, and those who have authority over them are called ‘benefactors.’
25 Kala Yesu ne i se: «Ndunnya dumey bonkooney ga koytaray cabe ngey borey boŋ. Ngey mo kaŋ yaŋ gonda dabari i boŋ, i ga ne i se: boriyandiyankoyey.
25And he said unto them, The kings of the Gentiles have lordship over them; and they that have authority over them are called Benefactors.
26 But not so with you. But one who is the greater among you, let him become as the younger, and one who is governing, as one who serves.
26 Amma araŋ wo, manti yaadin no araŋ ga te, amma nga kaŋ ga ti ibeero araŋ game ra, a ma te danga koda. Nga kaŋ gonda mayray mo, a ma te danga saajawko cine.
26But ye [shall] not [be] so: but he that is the greater among you, let him become as the younger; and he that is chief, as he that doth serve.
27 For who is greater, one who sits at the table, or one who serves? Isn’t it he who sits at the table? But I am in the midst of you as one who serves.
27 Zama may no ga bisa beeray, nga kaŋ go ga goro ka ŋwa, wala nga kaŋ go ga saajaw? Manti nga kaŋ goono ga goro ka ŋwa no? Amma ay wo go araŋ game ra danga saajawko cine.
27For which is greater, he that sitteth at meat, or he that serveth? is not he that sitteth at meat? but I am in the midst of you as he that serveth.
28 But you are those who have continued with me in my trials.
28 Amma araŋ wo ga ti ngey kaŋ yaŋ goro ay banda ay siyaŋey ra.
28But ye are they that have continued with me in my temptations;
29 I confer on you a kingdom, even as my Father conferred on me,
29 Ay mo go ga koytaray daŋ araŋ se, mate kaŋ ay Baaba na koytaray daŋ ay se,
29and I appoint unto you a kingdom, even as my Father appointed unto me,
30 that you may eat and drink at my table in my Kingdom. You will sit on thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.”
30 zama araŋ ma ŋwa, araŋ ma haŋ ay banda ay koytara ra. Woodin banda, araŋ ga goro koytaray karga way cindi hinka boŋ ka Israyla* kunda way cindi hinka ciiti.
30that ye may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom; and ye shall sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
31The Lord said, “Simon, Simon, behold, Satan asked to have you, that he might sift you as wheat,
31 Siman, Siman, Saytan ŋwaaray nga ma du araŋ zama a m'araŋ hagay sanda alkama cine.
31Simon, Simon, behold, Satan asked to have you, that he might sift you as wheat:
32 but I prayed for you, that your faith wouldn’t fail. You, when once you have turned again, establish your brothers .”
32 Amma ay mo ŋwaaray ni se hala ni cimbeero* ma si gaze. Ni mo, da ni ye ka bare, ni ma ni nya-izey gaabandi.»
32but I made supplication for thee, that thy faith fail not; and do thou, when once thou hast turned again, establish thy brethren.
33He said to him, “Lord, I am ready to go with you both to prison and to death!”
33 Siman ne a se: «Rabbi, ay soola ay ma koy ni banda hala kasu ra; oho mo, hala buuyaŋ.»
33And he said unto him, Lord, with thee I am ready to go both to prison and to death.
34He said, “I tell you, Peter, the rooster will by no means crow today until you deny that you know me three times.”
34 Amma Yesu wo ne: «Bitros, ay ga ne ni se: gorongaari si ca hunkuna, kala nda ni ze sorro hinza ka ne ni s'ay bay.»
34And he said, I tell thee, Peter, the cock shall not crow this day, until thou shalt thrice deny that thou knowest me.
35He said to them, “When I sent you out without purse, and wallet, and shoes, did you lack anything?” They said, “Nothing.”
35 A ne i se mo: «Waato kaŋ ay n'araŋ donton nooru lonko si, foolo si, taamu si, araŋ jaŋ hay fo no?» I ne: «Abada!»
35And he said unto them, When I sent you forth without purse, and wallet, and shoes, lacked ye anything? And they said, Nothing.
36Then he said to them, “But now, whoever has a purse, let him take it, and likewise a wallet. Whoever has none, let him sell his cloak, and buy a sword.
36 A ne i se koyne: «Amma sohõ, boro kaŋ gonda nooru lonko, a ma kond'a, nga nda foolo. Boro kaŋ sinda takuba mo ma nga taafe neera k'afo day.
36And he said unto them, But now, he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise a wallet; and he that hath none, let him sell his cloak, and buy a sword.
37 For I tell you that this which is written must still be fulfilled in me: ‘He was counted with transgressors.’ For that which concerns me has an end.”
37 Zama ay ga ne araŋ se: Wo kaŋ i hantum ka ne: ‹I n'a lasaabu taali-teerey banda,› tilas i ma woodin toonandi ay do. Zama da cimi hari kaŋ i hantum ay boŋ gonda toonandiyaŋ.»
37For I say unto you, that this which is written must be fulfilled in me, And he was reckoned with transgressors: for that which concerneth me hath fulfilment.
38They said, “Lord, behold, here are two swords.” He said to them, “That is enough.”
38 I ne: «Rabbi, takuba hinka neeya.» Kal a ne i se: «A wasa.»
38And they said, Lord, behold, here are two swords. And he said unto them, It is enough.
39He came out, and went, as his custom was, to the Mount of Olives. His disciples also followed him.
39 A fatta ka koy Zeytun* tondo boŋ, mate kaŋ a doona ka te, talibey mo n'a gana.
39And he came out, and went, as his custom was, unto the mount of Olives; and the disciples also followed him.
40When he was at the place, he said to them, “Pray that you don’t enter into temptation.”
40 Waato kaŋ a to noodin, a ne i se: «Araŋ ma te adduwa zama araŋ ma si furo siyaŋ ra.»
40And when he was at the place, he said unto them, Pray that ye enter not into temptation.
41He was withdrawn from them about a stone’s throw, and he knelt down and prayed,
41 A fay d'ey ka koy jine danga tondi catuyaŋ fo cine. A sombu ka te adduwa,
41And he was parted from them about a stone's cast; and he kneeled down and prayed,
42saying, “Father, if you are willing, remove this cup from me. Nevertheless, not my will, but yours, be done.”
42 ka ne: «Ya Baaba, da ni yadda, ma taabo wo sambu ay se. Day, manti ay miila ma te bo, amma ni wano.»
42saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.
43An angel from heaven appeared to him, strengthening him.
43 Kala malayka fo bangay a se ka fun beene, a goono g'a gaabandi.
43And there appeared unto him an angel from heaven, strengthening him.
44Being in agony he prayed more earnestly. His sweat became like great drops of blood falling down on the ground.
44 Kaŋ Yesu go gurzugay ra, a go ga adduwa te da anniya, a sungay mo te danga kuri tolliyaŋ bambata cine, kaŋ soobay ka kaŋ laabo ra.
44And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly; and his sweat became as it were great drops of blood falling down upon the ground.
45When he rose up from his prayer, he came to the disciples, and found them sleeping because of grief,
45 Adduwa banda a tun ka kaa talibey do k'i gar jirbi gaa, bine saray sabbay se.
45And when he rose up from his prayer, he came unto the disciples, and found them sleeping for sorrow,
46and said to them, “Why do you sleep? Rise and pray that you may not enter into temptation.”
46 Kal a ne i se: «Ifo se no araŋ go ga jirbi? Wa tun ka te adduwa, zama araŋ ma si furo siyaŋ ra.»
46and said unto them, Why sleep ye? rise and pray, that ye enter not into temptation.
47While he was still speaking, behold, a multitude, and he who was called Judas, one of the twelve, was leading them. He came near to Jesus to kiss him.
47 Za a go ga salaŋ, guna jama fo kaa. Bora kaŋ se i ga ne Yahuta mo, i way cindi hinka ra afo, n'i jin. A kaa ka maan Yesu gaa, zama nga m'a sunsum.
47While he yet spake, behold, a multitude, and he that was called Judas, one of the twelve, went before them; and he drew near unto Jesus to kiss him.
48But Jesus said to him, “Judas, do you betray the Son of Man with a kiss?”
48 Amma Yesu ne a se: «Yahuta, sunsumyaŋ no ni ga Boro Izo nooyandi nd'a, wala?»
48But Jesus said unto him, Judas, betrayest thou the Son of man with a kiss?
49When those who were around him saw what was about to happen, they said to him, “Lord, shall we strike with the sword?”
49 Ngey kaŋ goono g'a windi, waato kaŋ i di haŋ kaŋ ga ba ka te, i ne: «Rabbi, iri ma kar da takuba, wala?»
49And when they that were about him saw what would follow, they said, Lord, shall we smite with the sword?
50A certain one of them struck the servant of the high priest, and cut off his right ear.
50 I boro fo binde na alfaga* beero bannya fo zafa k'a kambe ŋwaaro hanga kaa.
50And a certain one of them smote the servant of the high priest, and struck off his right ear.
51But Jesus answered, “Let me at least do this” —and he touched his ear, and healed him.
51 Amma Yesu ne: «Wa naŋ yaadin.» A na hanga ham k'a yayandi.
51But Jesus answered and said, Suffer ye [them] thus far. And he touched his ear, and healed him.
52Jesus said to the chief priests, captains of the temple, and elders, who had come against him, “Have you come out as against a robber, with swords and clubs?
52 Yesu ne alfaga beerey da Irikoy windo batukoy jine funey da arkusey kaŋ yaŋ kaa a do se: «Araŋ kande takuba nda goobu yaŋ danga kosarayko do no?
52And Jesus said unto the chief priests, and captains of the temple, and elders, that were come against him, Are ye come out, as against a robber, with swords and staves?
53 When I was with you in the temple daily, you didn’t stretch out your hands against me. But this is your hour, and the power of darkness.”
53 Waato kaŋ ay go araŋ banda zaari kulu Irikoy windo ra, araŋ mana kambe dake ay gaa. Amma saaya woone ya araŋ wane no, da kubay dabari wane mo.»
53When I was daily with you in the temple, ye stretched not forth your hands against me: but this is your hour, and the power of darkness.
54They seized him, and led him away, and brought him into the high priest’s house. But Peter followed from a distance.
54 I na Yesu di k'a candi ka kond'a alfaga beero kwaara. Amma Bitros n'a banda gana nangu mooro.
54And they seized him, and led him [away], and brought him into the high priest's house. But Peter followed afar off.
55When they had kindled a fire in the middle of the courtyard, and had sat down together, Peter sat among them.
55 Waato kaŋ i na danji funsu windo batama bindo ra ka goro ganda, Bitros mo goro i game ra.
55And when they had kindled a fire in the midst of the court, and had sat down together, Peter sat in the midst of them.
56A certain servant girl saw him as he sat in the light, and looking intently at him, said, “This man also was with him.”
56 Kala koŋŋo fo di a go ga goro danji kaaro ra. A n'a guna ka ne; «Boro wo mo go Yesu banda.»
56And a certain maid seeing him as he sat in the light [of the fire], and looking stedfastly upon him, said, This man also was with him.
57He denied Jesus, saying, “Woman, I don’t know him.”
57 Amma a ze ka ne: «Waybora, ay s'a bay.»
57But he denied, saying, Woman, I know him not.
58After a little while someone else saw him, and said, “You also are one of them!” But Peter answered, “Man, I am not!”
58 A gay kayna, kala boro fo di a ka ne: «Ni mo i boro fo no.» Amma Bitros ne: «Albora, manti ay.»
58And after a little while another saw him, and said, Thou also art [one] of them. But Peter said, Man, I am not.
59After about one hour passed, another confidently affirmed, saying, “Truly this man also was with him, for he is a Galilean!”
59 Waato kaŋ guuru fo cine bisa, afo koyne seeda nda anniya ka ne: «Haciika boro wo go a banda, zama Galili laabu boro no.»
59And after the space of about one hour another confidently affirmed, saying, Of a truth this man also was with him; for he is a Galilaean.
60But Peter said, “Man, I don’t know what you are talking about!” Immediately, while he was still speaking, a rooster crowed.
60 Amma Bitros ne: «Albora, ay si baa bay haŋ kaŋ no ni go ga ci.» Sahãadin-sahãadin, za a go sanno din gaa, gorongaari fo ca.
60But Peter said, Man, I know not what thou sayest. And immediately, while he yet spake, the cock crew.
61The Lord turned, and looked at Peter. Then Peter remembered the Lord’s word, how he said to him, “Before the rooster crows you will deny me three times.”
61And the Lord turned, and looked upon Peter. And Peter remembered the word of the Lord, how that he said unto him, Before the cock crow this day thou shalt deny me thrice.
62He went out, and wept bitterly.
62 Kala Bitros fatta taray ka baray da hẽeni konno.
62And he went out, and wept bitterly.
63The men who held Jesus mocked him and beat him.
63 Alborey mo kaŋ yaŋ goono ga Yesu gaay n'a hahaara k'a jadde.
63And the men that held [Jesus] mocked him, and beat him.
64Having blindfolded him, they struck him on the face and asked him, “Prophesy! Who is the one who struck you?”
64 I n'a moy haw ka soobay k'a hã ka ne: «Ma annabitaray te me, may no ka ni kar?»
64And they blindfolded him, and asked him, saying, Prophesy: who is he that struck thee?
65They spoke many other things against him, insulting him.
65 Sanni boobo no i ci a se koyne k'a kayna.
65And many other things spake they against him, reviling him.
66As soon as it was day, the assembly of the elders of the people was gathered together, both chief priests and scribes, and they led him away into their council, saying,
66 Waato kaŋ mo bo, jama arkusey da alfaga beerey da asariya dondonandikoy margu. I na Yesu candi ka kond'a ngey Yahudancey arkusey marga do
66And as soon as it was day, the assembly of the elders of the people was gathered together, both chief priests and scribes; and they led him away into their council, saying,
67“If you are the Christ, tell us.” But he said to them, “If I tell you, you won’t believe,
67 ka ne: «Da ni ya Almasihu no, ma ci iri se.» Amma a ne i se: «D'ay ci araŋ se, araŋ si cimandi baa kayna.
67If thou art the Christ, tell us. But he said unto them, If I tell you, ye will not believe:
68 and if I ask, you will in no way answer me or let me go.
68 Da mo ay n'araŋ hã, araŋ si tu baa kayna.
68and if I ask [you], ye will not answer.
69 From now on, the Son of Man will be seated at the right hand of the power of God.”
69 Amma ne ka koy jine Boro Izo ga goro Irikoy dabari kambe ŋwaaro gaa.»
69But from henceforth shall the Son of man be seated at the right hand of the power of God.
70They all said, “Are you then the Son of God?” He said to them, “You say it, because I am.”
70 Kal i kulu ne: «Ni ya Irikoy Izo no, wala?» A ne i se: «Araŋ wo n'a ci, ay ga ti nga.»
70And they all said, Art thou then the Son of God? And he said unto them, Ye say that I am.
71They said, “Why do we need any more witness? For we ourselves have heard from his own mouth!”
71 I ne: «Man no iri ga laami nda seeda fo koyne? Zama iri bumbey, iri maa a meyo ra.»
71And they said, What further need have we of witness? for we ourselves have heard from his own mouth.
