15

1Then Pharisees and scribes came to Jesus from Jerusalem, saying,
1 Kala Farisi* fonda borey da asariya* dondonandiko fooyaŋ fun Urusalima* ka kaa Yesu do ka ne:
1Then there come to Jesus from Jerusalem Pharisees and scribes, saying,
2“Why do your disciples disobey the tradition of the elders? For they don’t wash their hands when they eat bread.”
2 «Ifo se no ni talibey ga arkusey alaadey harta? Zama i si ngey kambey nyun hal i ga ŋwaari ŋwa.»
2Why do thy disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? for they wash not their hands when they eat bread.
3He answered them, “Why do you also disobey the commandment of God because of your tradition?
3 Amma a tu ka ne i se: «Ifo se no araŋ mo ga Irikoy lordey* harta araŋ alaadey sabbay se?
3And he answered and said unto them, Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God because of your tradition?
4 For God commanded, ‘Honor your father and your mother,’ and, ‘He who speaks evil of father or mother, let him be put to death.’
4 Zama Irikoy ne: ‹Ni ma ni baabo nda ni nya beerandi. Boro kaŋ na baaba wala nya wow mo, haciika i g'a wi.›
4For God said, Honor thy father and thy mother: and, He that speaketh evil of father or mother, let him die the death.
5 But you say, ‘Whoever may tell his father or his mother, “Whatever help you might otherwise have gotten from me is a gift devoted to God,”
5 Amma araŋ ga ne: ‹Boro kulu kaŋ ga ne nga baaba wala nga nya se: Haŋ kaŋ ga hima doŋ ni ma du ay do, woodin ya sargay no,› kulu a si baabo da nyaŋo beerandi baa kayna.
5But ye say, whosoever shall say to his father or his mother, That wherewith thou mightest have been profited by me is given [to God];
6 he shall not honor his father or mother.’ You have made the commandment of God void because of your tradition.
6 Araŋ na Irikoy sanno ciya yaamo nooya araŋ alaadey se.
6he shall not honor his father. And ye have made void the word of God because of your tradition.
7 You hypocrites! Well did Isaiah prophesy of you, saying,
7 Araŋ wo munaficey, Isaya na annabitaray te araŋ boŋ ihanna dumi ka ne:
7Ye hypocrites, well did Isaiah prophesy of you, saying,
8 ‘These people draw near to me with their mouth, and honor me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.
8 ‹Jama wo go g'ay beerandi nda ngey meyey, amma i biney ga mooru ay.
8This people honoreth me with their lips; But their heart is far from me.
9 And in vain do they worship me, teaching as doctrine rules made by men.’”
9 Day yaamo no i go ga sududu ay se. Dondonandiyaŋey kaŋ i ga te mo, borey alaadayaŋ no.› »
9But in vain do they worship me, Teaching [as their] doctrines the precepts of men.
10He summoned the multitude, and said to them, “Hear, and understand.
10 Yesu na borey marga ce nga do ka ne i se: «Araŋ ma maa ka faham mo:
10And he called to him the multitude, and said unto them, Hear, and understand:
11 That which enters into the mouth doesn’t defile the man; but that which proceeds out of the mouth, this defiles the man.”
11 Manti hari kaŋ ga furo me ra no ga boro ziibandi* bo. Amma wo kaŋ ga fun me ra din, nga no ga boro ziibandi.»
11Not that which entereth into the mouth defileth the man; but that which proceedeth out of the mouth, this defileth the man.
12Then the disciples came, and said to him, “Do you know that the Pharisees were offended, when they heard this saying?”
12 Kal a talibey kaa ka ne a se: «Ni bay kaŋ a dooru Farisi fonda borey gaa waato kaŋ i maa sanno din, wala?»
12Then came the disciples, and said unto him, Knowest thou that the Pharisees were offended, when they heard this saying?
13But he answered, “Every plant which my heavenly Father didn’t plant will be uprooted.
13 Amma a tu ka ne: «Tuuri-nya kulu kaŋ ay Baabo kaŋ go beene mana tilam, i g'a dagu.
13But he answered and said, Every plant which my heavenly Father planted not, shall be rooted up.
14 Leave them alone. They are blind guides of the blind. If the blind guide the blind, both will fall into a pit.”
14 Wa fay d'ey. Danawyaŋ no kaŋ goono ga danaw candi. Da danaw na danaw goobu candi binde, i boro hinka kulu no ga kaŋ goota folloŋ ra.»
14Let them alone: they are blind guides. And if the blind guide the blind, both shall fall into a pit.
15Peter answered him, “Explain the parable to us.”
15 Bitros tu ka ne a se: «Ma misa din feeri iri se.»
15And Peter answered and said unto him, Declare unto us the parable.
16So Jesus said, “Do you also still not understand?
16 Yesu ne: «Hala baa araŋ mo, araŋ sinda fahamay no koyne?
16And he said, Are ye also even yet without understanding?
17 Don’t you understand that whatever goes into the mouth passes into the belly, and then out of the body?
17 Araŋ mana faham hala haŋ kaŋ furo me ra, teeley ra no a ga koy, a ga ye ka fun taray koyne, wala?
17Perceive ye not, that whatsoever goeth into the mouth passeth into the belly, and is cast out into the draught?
18 But the things which proceed out of the mouth come out of the heart, and they defile the man.
18 Amma hayey kaŋ yaŋ ga fun me ra, bine do no i ga fun, ngey no ga boro ziibandi.
18But the things which proceed out of the mouth come forth out of the heart; and they defile the man.
19 For out of the heart come forth evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, sexual sins, thefts, false testimony, and blasphemies.
19 Zama miila laaley, da boro wiyaŋ, da zina* kulu dumi, da zaytaray, da tangari seeda, da Irikoy gaa alaasirayyaŋ, bine do no i ga fun.
19For out of the heart come forth evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, railings:
20 These are the things which defile the man; but to eat with unwashed hands doesn’t defile the man.”
20 Woodin yaŋ dumi no ga boro ziibandi. Amma i ma ŋwa da kambe kaŋ mana nyun, woodin si boro ziibandi.»
20these are the things which defile the man; but to eat with unwashen hands defileth not the man.
21Jesus went out from there, and withdrew into the region of Tyre and Sidon.
21 Kala Yesu tun noodin ka koy Tir* da Zidon* laabey ra.
21And Jesus went out thence, and withdrew into the parts of Tyre and Sidon.
22Behold, a Canaanite woman came out from those borders, and cried, saying, “Have mercy on me, Lord, you son of David! My daughter is severely demonized!”
22 Kanaana* wayboro fo mo kaa ka fun laabey din ra haray. A kaa ka hẽ ka ne: «Ya Rabbi, Dawda izo, ma bakar ay se! Ay ize way no goono ga taabi gumo da follay.»
22And behold, a Canaanitish woman came out from those borders, and cried, saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, thou son of David; my daughter is grievously vexed with a demon.
23But he answered her not a word. His disciples came and begged him, saying, “Send her away; for she cries after us.”
23 Amma Yesu mana tu a se da baa sanni fo. A talibey binde kaa k'a ŋwaaray ka ne: «M'a sallama, zama a go g'iri gana nda hẽeni.»
23But he answered her not a word. And his disciples came and besought him, saying, Send her away; for she crieth after us.
24But he answered, “I wasn’t sent to anyone but the lost sheep of the house of Israel.”
24 Amma Yesu tu ka ne: «I man'ay donton kala Israyla dumo feeji darantey hinne do.»
24But he answered and said, I was not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
25But she came and worshiped him, saying, “Lord, help me.”
25 Amma waybora kaa ka sombu a se ka ne: «Rabbi, m'ay gaa!»
25But she came and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me.
26But he answered, “It is not appropriate to take the children’s bread and throw it to the dogs.”
26 Amma a tu ka ne: «A mana hagu i ma zankey ŋwaaro sambu k'a catu hans'izey se.»
26And he answered and said, It is not meet to take the children's bread and cast it to the dogs.
27But she said, “Yes, Lord, but even the dogs eat the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table.”
27 Amma waybora ne: «Oho Rabbi, amma baa hans'izey ga du zanjarmey ngey koyey waney do.»
27But she said, Yea, Lord: for even the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters' table.
28Then Jesus answered her, “Woman, great is your faith! Be it done to you even as you desire.” And her daughter was healed from that hour.
28 Gaa no Yesu tu ka ne a se: «Waybora, ni cimbeero ga beeri. A ma ciya ni se mate kaŋ cine ni ga ba.» A ize wayo te baani mo za saaya din ra.
28Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great is thy faith: be it done unto thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter was healed from that hour.
29Jesus departed there, and came near to the sea of Galilee; and he went up into the mountain, and sat there.
29 Yesu tun noodin ka kaa Galili teeko me gaa haray. A kaaru tondi boŋ ka goro noodin.
29And Jesus departed thence, and came nigh unto the sea of Galilee; and he went up into the mountain, and sat there.
30Great multitudes came to him, having with them the lame, blind, mute, maimed, and many others, and they put them down at his feet. He healed them,
30 Borey marga bambata kaa a do. I kande simbarantey, da danawey, da beebey, da larantey, da jantekom boobo fooyaŋ ngey banda. I n'i jisi Yesu jine, a na ikulu no baani mo.
30And there came unto him great multitudes, having with them the lame, blind, dumb, maimed, and many others, and they cast them down at this feet; and he healed them:
31so that the multitude wondered when they saw the mute speaking, injured whole, lame walking, and blind seeing—and they glorified the God of Israel.
31 Hala borey marga dambara, waati kaŋ i di beebey goono ga salaŋ, larantey go ga boori gumo, simbarantey go ga dira, danawey go ga di. I na Israyla* izey Irikoyo beerandi mo.
31insomuch that the multitude wondered, when they saw the dumb speaking, the maimed whole, and lame walking, and the blind seeing: and they glorified the God of Israel.
32Jesus summoned his disciples and said, “I have compassion on the multitude, because they continue with me now three days and have nothing to eat. I don’t want to send them away fasting, or they might faint on the way.”
32 Yesu na nga talibey ce nga do ka ne: «Ay goono ga bakar jama wo se, zama a to jirbi hinza sohõ kaŋ i go ay banda. I sinda haŋ kaŋ i ga ŋwa mo. Ay si ba ay m'i sallama da haray, i ma si koy ka gaze fonda boŋ.»
32And Jesus called unto him his disciples, and said, I have compassion on the multitude, because they continue with me now three days and have nothing to eat: and I would not send them away fasting, lest haply they faint on the way.
33The disciples said to him, “Where should we get so many loaves in a deserted place as to satisfy so great a multitude?”
33 A talibey ne a se: «Day, man no iri ga du ŋwaari boobo neewo ganjo ra, hal iri ma borey marga wo cine kungandi?»
33And the disciples say unto him, Whence should we have so many loaves in a desert place as to fill so great a multitude?
34Jesus said to them, “How many loaves do you have?” They said, “Seven, and a few small fish.”
34 Yesu ne i se: «Buuru kunkuni marge no ka bara araŋ do?» I ne a se: «Iyye no, da hamisa kayna fooyaŋ.»
34And Jesus said unto them, How many loaves have ye? And they said, Seven, and a few small fishes.
35He commanded the multitude to sit down on the ground;
35 Yesu na jama lordi ka ne i ma goro ganda laabo ra.
35And he commanded the multitude to sit down on the ground;
36and he took the seven loaves and the fish. He gave thanks and broke them, and gave to the disciples, and the disciples to the multitudes.
36 A na buuru kunkuni iyya da hamisey din sambu ka saabu. Waato gaa no a n'i ceeri-ceeri ka no nga talibey se. Talibey mo soobay ka zaban borey se.
36and he took the seven loaves and the fishes; and he gave thanks and brake, and gave to the disciples, and the disciples to the multitudes.
37They all ate, and were filled. They took up seven baskets full of the broken pieces that were left over.
37 Kaŋ i ŋwa ka kungu, i na patarmey kaŋ cindi margu, cilla beeri toonante iyye.
37And they all ate, and were filled: and they took up that which remained over of the broken pieces, seven baskets full.
38Those who ate were four thousand men, besides women and children.
38 Borey kaŋ yaŋ ŋwa mo, alboro zambar taaci no, kaŋ wayborey da zankey baa si.
38And they that did eat were four thousand men, besides women and children.
39Then he sent away the multitudes, got into the boat, and came into the borders of Magdala.
39 Waato kaŋ a na marga sallama din banda, Yesu furo hi ra ka kaa Magdala laabo ra.
39And he sent away the multitudes, and entered into the boat, and came into the borders of Magadan.
