Matthew

6

1 “Be careful that you don’t do your charitable giving before men, to be seen by them, or else you have no reward from your Father who is in heaven.
Zama da yaadin no, kulu araŋ sinda alhakku fo araŋ Baabo kaŋ go beena ra do.
1Take heed that ye do not your righteousness before men, to be seen of them: else ye have no reward with your Father who is in heaven.
2 Therefore when you do merciful deeds, don’t sound a trumpet before yourself, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may get glory from men. Most certainly I tell you, they have received their reward.
2 Waati kaŋ ni ga sargay* sarga mo, ma s'a fe, sanda mate kaŋ cine munaficey ga te i diina marga fuwey ra, da fondey gaa, zama borey ma di ngey k'i beerandi. Haciika ay ga ci araŋ se, i alhakko mo nooya.
2When therefore thou doest alms, sound not a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have received their reward.
3 But when you do merciful deeds, don’t let your left hand know what your right hand does,
3But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth:
4 so that your merciful deeds may be in secret, then your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.
4 zama ni sarga ma ciya tuguyaŋ ra. Ni Baabo mo kaŋ goono ga di tuguyaŋ ra ga ni bana.
4that thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father who seeth in secret shall recompense thee.
5 “When you pray, you shall not be as the hypocrites, for they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen by men. Most certainly, I tell you, they have received their reward.
5 Waati kaŋ araŋ ga adduwa te mo, araŋ ma si te sanda mate kaŋ cine munaficey ga te, zama i ga ba ngey ma kay ka adduwa te i diina marga fuwey ra da fondey boŋ, zama borey ma di ngey. Cimi no ay ga ci araŋ se, i alhakko mo nooya.
5And when ye pray, ye shall not be as the hypocrites: for they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have received their reward.
6 But you, when you pray, enter into your inner room, and having shut your door, pray to your Father who is in secret, and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.
6But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thine inner chamber, and having shut thy door, pray to thy Father who is in secret, and thy Father who seeth in secret shall recompense thee.
7 In praying, don’t use vain repetitions, as the Gentiles do; for they think that they will be heard for their much speaking.
Zama i ga tammahã hala ngey sanni booba gaa no Irikoy ga maa ngey se.
7And in praying use not vain repetitions, as the Gentiles do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.
8 Therefore don’t be like them, for your Father knows what things you need, before you ask him.
Zama araŋ Baabo ga bay hari kaŋ araŋ ga ba, za araŋ man'a ŋwaaray.
8Be not therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.
9 Pray like this: ‘Our Father in heaven, may your name be kept holy.
9 Woodin se binde, d'araŋ ga te adduwa, araŋ ma ne: Ya iri Baabo kaŋ go beena ra, Ni maa ma ciya ihanna.
9After this manner therefore pray ye. Our Father who art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
10 Let your Kingdom come. Let your will be done, as in heaven, so on earth.
10 Ni koytara ma kaa. Mate kaŋ cine i ga ni miila te beena ra, I m'a te neewo mo ndunnya ra.
10Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so on earth.
11 Give us today our daily bread.
11 M'iri no hunkuna ŋwaari,
11Give us this day our daily bread.
12 Forgive us our debts, as we also forgive our debtors.
12 M'iri garaw-garawey yaafa iri se, Sanda mate kaŋ cine iri mo g'iri garawkooney yaafa nd'a.
12And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.
13 Bring us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. For yours is the Kingdom, the power, and the glory forever. Amen.
Zama koytaray da dabari nda darza, Ni wane yaŋ no hal abada abadin. Amin.
13And bring us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil [one.]
14 “For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.
14 Zama d'araŋ ga borey yaafa nda ngey taaley, yaadin gaa no araŋ Baabo kaŋ go beena ra mo g'araŋ yaafa nd'araŋ taaley.
14For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.
15 But if you don’t forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
15 Amma d'araŋ si borey taaley yaafa i se, araŋ Baabo kaŋ go beena ra mo si araŋ yaafa nd'araŋ taaley.
15But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
16 “Moreover when you fast, don’t be like the hypocrites, with sad faces. For they disfigure their faces, that they may be seen by men to be fasting. Most certainly I tell you, they have received their reward.
16 Waati kaŋ araŋ ga mehaw mo, araŋ ma si mo-kura haw, sanda mate kaŋ cine munaficey ga te. Zama i ga ngey moydumey hasara no, zama borey ma di kaŋ ngey goono ga mehaw. Cimi no ay ga ci araŋ se: i alhakko mo nooya.
16Moreover when ye fast, be not, as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance: for they disfigure their faces, that they may be seen of men to fast. Verily I say unto you, They have received their reward.
17 But you, when you fast, anoint your head, and wash your face;
17 Amma nin, waati kaŋ ni ga mehaw, ma ji tuusu ni boŋo gaa, ma ni moyduma nyun,
17But thou, when thou fastest, anoint thy head, and wash thy face;
18 so that you are not seen by men to be fasting, but by your Father who is in secret, and your Father, who sees in secret, will reward you.
18that thou be not seen of men to fast, but of thy Father who is in secret: and thy Father, who seeth in secret, shall recompense thee.
19 “Don’t lay up treasures for yourselves on the earth, where moth and rust consume, and where thieves break through and steal;
19 Araŋ ma si arzaka margu araŋ boŋ se ne ndunnya ra, naŋ kaŋ kollo nda haŋ kaŋ ga guuru hayandi ga ŋwa, naŋ kaŋ zay mo ga fun ka zay.
19Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon the earth, where moth and rust consume, and where thieves break through and steal:
20 but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust consume, and where thieves don’t break through and steal;
20 Amma araŋ ma arzaka margu araŋ boŋ se beena ra, nangu kaŋ kollo nda haŋ kaŋ ga guuru hayandi s'a ŋwa, nangu kaŋ zay mo si hin ka fun ka zay.
20but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth consume, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:
21 for where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
21 Zama nango kaŋ ni arzaka go, noodin no ni bina mo ga bara.
21for where thy treasure is, there will thy heart be also.
22 “The lamp of the body is the eye. If therefore your eye is sound, your whole body will be full of light.
22 Gaaham fitilla ga ti mo. Da ni mwa ga boori, ni gaahamo kulu mo ga to da kaari.
22The lamp of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.
23 But if your eye is evil, your whole body will be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in you is darkness, how great is the darkness!
Da binde, kaaro kaŋ go ni do din ya kubay no, man gaa kuba din himandi!
23But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is the darkness!
24 “No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other; or else he will be devoted to one and despise the other. You can’t serve both God and Mammon.
24No man can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.
25 Therefore I tell you, don’t be anxious for your life: what you will eat, or what you will drink; nor yet for your body, what you will wear. Isn’t life more than food, and the body more than clothing?
Fundi mana bisa ŋwaari no, wala gaaham mana bisa bankaaray no?
25Therefore I say unto you, be not anxious for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than the food, and the body than the raiment?
26 See the birds of the sky, that they don’t sow, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns. Your heavenly Father feeds them. Aren’t you of much more value than they?
26 Wa guna beene curey. I siino ga duma, i siino ga wi, i siino ga margu barma ra mo. Amma araŋ Baabo kaŋ go beena ra no g'i ŋwaayandi. Araŋ mana bisa curey beeray gumo no?
26Behold the birds of the heaven, that they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; and your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are not ye of much more value then they?
27 “Which of you, by being anxious, can add one moment to his lifespan?
27 Woodin banda, may no araŋ ra kaŋ nga boŋ karhã do ga hin ka baa kambe kar folloŋ tonton nga kuuyaŋo gaa?
27And which of you by being anxious can add one cubit unto the measure of his life?
28 Why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow. They don’t toil, neither do they spin,
28 Bankaaray ciine ra mo, ifo se no araŋ ga karhã? Wa saajo ra waaliya bokey guna, beeray kaŋ cine i ga te. I si ga taabi, i siino ga silli bi.
28And why are ye anxious concerning raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:
29 yet I tell you that even Solomon in all his glory was not dressed like one of these.
29 Kulu nda yaadin, ay ga ne araŋ se: baa Suleymanu nda nga darza kulu mana sutura ka to i afo cine.
29yet I say unto you, that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
30 But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today exists, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, won’t he much more clothe you, you of little faith?
30 Amma da Irikoy ga saajo ra subu bankaara yaadin cine, kaŋ hunkuna a go no, amma suba i g'a catu danji ra, sanku fa araŋ, cimbeeri* kayna koyey?
30But if God doth so clothe the grass of the field, which to-day is, and to-morrow is cast into the oven, [shall he] not much more [clothe] you, O ye of little faith?
31 “Therefore don’t be anxious, saying, ‘What will we eat?’, ‘What will we drink?’ or, ‘With what will we be clothed?’
31 Araŋ ma si karhã ka ne: ‹Ifo no iri ga ŋwa?› wala: ‹Ifo no iri ga haŋ?› wala: ‹Ifo no iri ga bankaaray d'a?›
31Be not therefore anxious, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?
32 For the Gentiles seek after all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.
32 Amma woone yaŋ kulu no dumi cindey goono ga ceeci. Araŋ Baabo kaŋ go beene ga bay araŋ ga laami nda hayey din kulu.
32For after all these things do the Gentiles seek; for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
33 But seek first God’s Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well.
33 Day wa jin ka Irikoy* koytara d'a adilitara ceeci jina, nga mo ga hayey din kulu tonton araŋ se.
33But seek ye first his kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
34 Therefore don’t be anxious for tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Each day’s own evil is sufficient.
34Be not therefore anxious for the morrow: for the morrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.
