1Yahweh, remember David and all his affliction,
1 Zijiyaŋ dooni no. Ya Rabbi, ma fongu Dawda gaa a kankamey kulu sabbay se.
1A Song of Ascents. Jehovah, remember for David All his affliction;
2how he swore to Yahweh, and vowed to the Mighty One of Jacob:
2 Zeyaŋo kaŋ a te Rabbi se, Da sarto kaŋ a sambu Yakuba wane Hinkoyo se, ka ne:
2How he sware unto Jehovah, And vowed unto the Mighty One of Jacob:
3“Surely I will not come into the structure of my house, nor go up into my bed;
3Surely I will not come into the tabernacle of my house, Nor go up into my bed;
4I will not give sleep to my eyes, or slumber to my eyelids;
4 Ay s'ay moy no jirbi, ay si dusungu mo,
4I will not give sleep to mine eyes, Or slumber to mine eyelids;
5until I find out a place for Yahweh, a dwelling for the Mighty One of Jacob.”
5Until I find out a place for Jehovah, A tabernacle for the Mighty One of Jacob.
6Behold, we heard of it in Ephrathah. We found it in the field of Jaar:
6 A go, iri maa a baaru Efrata ra, Iri n'a gar Yaar farey ra.
6Lo, we heard of it in Ephrathah: We found it in the field of the wood.
7“We will go into his dwelling place. We will worship at his footstool.
7 Iri ma furo a nangora ra, Iri ma sududuyaŋ te a ce taamey furkanga do.
7We will go into his tabernacles; We will worship at his footstool.
8Arise, Yahweh, into your resting place; you, and the ark of your strength.
8Arise, O Jehovah, into thy resting-place; Thou, and the ark of thy strength.
9Let your priest be clothed with righteousness. Let your saints shout for joy!”
9Let thy priest be clothed with righteousness; And let thy saints shout for joy.
10For your servant David’s sake, don’t turn away the face of your anointed one.
10For thy servant David's sake Turn not away the face of thine anointed.
11Yahweh has sworn to David in truth. He will not turn from it: “I will set the fruit of your body on your throne.
11 Rabbi ze Dawda se da cimi, A si bare ka fay d'a mo. A ne: «Ni ize gundey ra no ay ga afo dake ni karga boŋ.
11Jehovah hath sworn unto David in truth; He will not turn from it: Of the fruit of thy body will I set upon thy throne.
12If your children will keep my covenant, my testimony that I will teach them, their children also will sit on your throne forevermore.”
12 Da ni izey n'ay sappa d'ay seeda kaŋ ay g'i dondonandi nd'a haggoy, Kal i banda mo ma goro ni karga boŋ hal abada.»
12If thy children will keep my covenant And my testimony that I shall teach them, Their children also shall sit upon thy throne for evermore.
13For Yahweh has chosen Zion. He has desired it for his habitation.
13 Zama Rabbi na Sihiyona suuban, A yalla-yalla nd'a ma ciya nga se nangoray.
13For Jehovah hath chosen Zion; He hath desired it for his habitation.
14“This is my resting place forever. Here I will live, for I have desired it.
14 A ne: «Woone ya ay fulanzamyaŋ do no hal abada. Noodin no ay ga goro, zama ay yalla-yalla nd'a.»
14This is my resting-place for ever: Here will I dwell; for I have desired it.
15I will abundantly bless her provision. I will satisfy her poor with bread.
15 Ay g'a ŋwaaro albarkandi nda yulwa, Ay g'a laamikoyey kungandi nda ŋwaari.
15I will abundantly bless her provision: I will satisfy her poor with bread.
16Her priests I will also clothe with salvation. Her saints will shout aloud for joy.
16 A alfagey mo, ay g'i daabu nda faaba, A wane hanantey mo ga doon farhã sabbay se.
16Her priests also will I clothe with salvation; And her saints shall shout aloud for joy.
17There I will make the horn of David to bud. I have ordained a lamp for my anointed.
17There will I make the horn of David to bud: I have ordained a lamp for mine anointed.
18I will clothe his enemies with shame, but on himself, his crown will be resplendent.”
18 Ay g'a ibarey daabu nda haawi, Amma a koytaray fuula ga nyaale ay suubananta boŋ.
18His enemies will I clothe with shame; But upon himself shall his crown flourish.
