1It is a good thing to give thanks to Yahweh, to sing praises to your name, Most High;
1 Asibti* hane baytu.
1A Psalm, a Song for the sabbath day. It is a good thing to give thanks unto Jehovah, And to sing praises unto thy name, O Most High;
2to proclaim your loving kindness in the morning, and your faithfulness every night,
2 Rabbi se saabuyaŋ ga boori. Ya Beeray-Beeri-Koyo, i ma sifaw baytu te ni maa gaa, Nga mo ga boori.
2To show forth thy lovingkindness in the morning, And thy faithfulness every night,
3with the ten-stringed lute, with the harp, and with the melody of the lyre.
3 I ma ni baakasinay suujo ci susubay, Ni naanayo mo cin kulu,
3With an instrument of ten strings, and with the psaltery; With a solemn sound upon the harp.
4For you, Yahweh, have made me glad through your work. I will triumph in the works of your hands.
4 Da moolo beeri hamni way koy, da moolo kayna mo, Da moolo beeri kaŋ ga tu jinde.
4For thou, Jehovah, hast made me glad through thy work: I will triumph in the works of thy hands.
5How great are your works, Yahweh! Your thoughts are very deep.
5 Zama ni goyo do, ya Rabbi, ni n'ay bina kaanandi. Ay ga farhã baytu te ni kambe goyey sabbay se.
5How great are thy works, O Jehovah! Thy thoughts are very deep.
6A senseless man doesn’t know, neither does a fool understand this:
6 Ya Rabbi, man ni te-goyey beera misa! Ni fonguyaŋey ga guusu gumo.
6A brutish man knoweth not; Neither doth a fool understand this:
7though the wicked spring up as the grass, and all the evildoers flourish, they will be destroyed forever.
7 Boro alman alhaalikoy si bay, Saamo mo si faham da woone:
7When the wicked spring as the grass, And when all the workers of iniquity do flourish; It is that they shall be destroyed for ever.
8But you, Yahweh, are on high forevermore.
8 Waati kaŋ cine laalakoyey ga zay ka fun sanda subu cine, Saaya kaŋ cine laala goy teekoy kulu ga zaada, I ma halaci hal abada sabbay se no.
8But thou, O Jehovah, art on high for evermore.
9For, behold, your enemies, Yahweh, for, behold, your enemies shall perish. All the evildoers will be scattered.
9 Amma nin, ya Rabbi, ni ya Beeraykoy no hal abada.
9For, lo, thine enemies, O Jehovah, For, lo, thine enemies shall perish; All the workers of iniquity shall be scattered.
10But you have exalted my horn like that of the wild ox. I am anointed with fresh oil.
10 Zama a go, ni ibarey, ya Rabbi, Zama a go, ni ibarey ga halaci, Laala goy teekoy kulu ga say-say.
10But my horn hast thou exalted like [the horn of] the wild-ox: I am anointed with fresh oil.
11My eye has also seen my enemies. My ears have heard of the wicked enemies who rise up against me.
11 Amma ni n'ay hillo tunandi sanda haw-bi wane cine, I n'ay tuusu nda ji taji.
11Mine eye also hath seen [my desire] on mine enemies, Mine ears have heard [my desire] of the evil-doers that rise up against me.
12The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree. He will grow like a cedar in Lebanon.
12 Ay moy n'ay batandikoy guna nda farhã, Ay hangey maa laala goy teekoy kaŋ yaŋ ga tun ay se baaru.
12The righteous shall flourish like the palm-tree: He shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon.
13They are planted in Yahweh’s house. They will flourish in our God’s courts.
13 Adilante ga zaada sanda sabb'ize cine, A ga beeri sanda Liban ra sedre* nya cine.
13They are planted in the house of Jehovah; They shall flourish in the courts of our God.
14They will still bring forth fruit in old age. They will be full of sap and green,
14 Ngey kaŋ yaŋ i tilam Rabbi windo ra ga zaada iri Irikoyo windi batama ra.
14They shall still bring forth fruit in old age; They shall be full of sap and green:
15to show that Yahweh is upright. He is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in him.
15 I ga soobay ka hay baa ngey zeena ra, I ga goro nda maani nda tayyaŋ,
15To show that Jehovah is upright; He is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in him.
16 Zama i ma cabe kaŋ Rabbi ya haŋ kaŋ ga saba teeko no. Ay tondi daaro no, a ra sinda adilitaray-jaŋay mo.
