1The lot came out for the children of Joseph from the Jordan at Jericho, at the waters of Jericho on the east, even the wilderness, going up from Jericho through the hill country to Bethel.
1Och lotten föll ut för Josefs barn sålunda: Landet från Jordan vid Jeriko till Jerikos vatten österut, öknen, som från Jeriko höjer sig uppåt Bergsbygden mot Betel.
2It went out from Bethel to Luz, and passed along to the border of the Archites to Ataroth;
2Och gränsen gick vidare från Betel till Lus och så fram till arkiternas område, mot Atarot.
3and it went down westward to the border of the Japhletites, to the border of Beth Horon the lower, even to Gezer; and ended at the sea.
3Därefter gick den västerut ned till jafletiternas område, ända till Nedre Bet-Horons område och till Geser; sedan gick den ut vid havet.
4The children of Joseph, Manasseh and Ephraim, took their inheritance.
4Detta fingo nu Josefs barn, Manasse och Efraim, till arvedel.
5This was the border of the children of Ephraim according to their families. The border of their inheritance eastward was Ataroth Addar, to Beth Horon the upper.
5Efraims barn fingo, efter sina släkter, sina gränser sålunda: Gränsen för deras arvedel i öster gick från Atrot-Addar ända till Övre Bet-Horon.
6The border went out westward at Michmethath on the north. The border turned about eastward to Taanath Shiloh, and passed along it on the east of Janoah.
6Sedan gick gränsen ut vid havet. I norr var Mikmetat gräns. Därifrån böjde sig gränsen österut till Taanat-Silo. Därefter gick den fram där i öster till Janoa.
7It went down from Janoah to Ataroth, to Naarah, reached to Jericho, and went out at the Jordan.
7Från Janoa gick den ned till Atarot och Naara, träffade så Jeriko och gick ut vid Jordan.
8From Tappuah the border went along westward to the brook of Kanah; and ended at the sea. This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Ephraim according to their families;
8Från Tappua gick gränsen västerut till Kanabäcken och gick sedan ut vid havet. Detta var Efraims barns stams arvedel, efter deras släkter.
9together with the cities which were set apart for the children of Ephraim in the midst of the inheritance of the children of Manasseh, all the cities with their villages.
9Dit hörde ock de städer som avsöndrades åt Efraims barn inom Manasse barns arvedel, alla dessa städer med sina byar.
10They didn’t drive out the Canaanites who lived in Gezer; but the Canaanites dwell in the midst of Ephraim to this day, and have become servants to do forced labor.
10Men de fördrevo icke kananéerna som bodde i Geser; därför bodde ock kananéerna kvar bland Efraims barn, såsom de göra ännu i dag, men de blevo arbetspliktiga tjänare under dem.
