¹Give ear, you heavens, and I will speak. Let the earth hear the words of my mouth.

²My doctrine shall drop as the rain. My speech shall condense as the dew, as the small rain on the tender grass, as the showers on the herb.

³For I will proclaim the name of Yahweh. Ascribe greatness to our God!

³கர்த்தருடைய நாமத்தை பிரசித்தம்பண்ணுவேன்; நம்முடைய தேவனுக்கு மகத்துவத்தைச் செலுத்துங்கள்.

⁴The Rock, his work is perfect, for all his ways are justice: a God of faithfulness and without iniquity, just and right is he.

⁴அவர் கன்மலை; அவர் கிரியை உத்தமமானது; அவர் வழிகளெல்லாம் நியாயம், அவர் நியாயக்கேடில்லாத சத்தியமுள்ள தேவன்; அவர் நீதியும் செம்மையுமானவர்.

⁵They have dealt corruptly with him. They are not his children, because of their defect. They are a perverse and crooked generation.

⁵அவர்களோ தங்களைக் கெடுத்துக்கொண்டார்கள், அவர்கள் அவருடைய பிள்ளைகள் அல்ல; இதுவே அவர்கள் காரியம்; அவர்கள் மாறுபாடும் தாறுமாறுமுள்ள சந்ததியார்.

⁶Do you thus requite Yahweh, foolish people and unwise? Isn’t he your father who has bought you? He has made you, and established you.

⁶விவேகமில்லாத மதிகெட்ட ஜனங்களே, இப்படியா கர்த்தருக்குப் பதிலளிக்கிறீர்கள், உன்னை ஆட்கொண்ட பிதா அவரல்லவா? உன்னை உண்டாக்கி உன்னை நிலைப்படுத்தினவர் அவரல்லவா?

⁷Remember the days of old. Consider the years of many generations. Ask your father, and he will show you; your elders, and they will tell you.

⁸When the Most High gave to the nations their inheritance, when he separated the children of men, he set the bounds of the peoples according to the number of the children of Israel.

⁹For Yahweh’s portion is his people. Jacob is the lot of his inheritance.

¹⁰He found him in a desert land, in the waste howling wilderness. He surrounded him. He cared for him. He kept him as the apple of his eye.

¹³He made him ride on the high places of the earth. He ate the increase of the field. He caused him to suck honey out of the rock, oil out of the flinty rock;

¹⁴Butter of the herd, and milk of the flock, with fat of lambs, rams of the breed of Bashan, and goats, with the finest of the wheat. Of the blood of the grape you drank wine.

¹⁵But Jeshurun grew fat, and kicked. You have grown fat. You have grown thick. You have become sleek. Then he forsook God who made him, and lightly esteemed the Rock of his salvation.

¹⁶They moved him to jealousy with strange gods. They provoked him to anger with abominations.

¹⁷They sacrificed to demons, not God, to gods that they didn’t know, to new gods that came up recently, which your fathers didn’t dread.

¹⁷அவர்கள் தேவனுக்குப் பலியிடவில்லை; தாங்கள் அறியாதவைகளும், தங்கள் பிதாக்கள் பயப்படாதவைகளும், நூதனமாய்த் தோன்றிய புது தெய்வங்களுமாகிய பேய்களுக்கே பலியிட்டார்கள்.

¹⁸Of the Rock who became your father, you are unmindful, and have forgotten God who gave you birth.

¹⁸உன்னை ஜெநிப்பித்த கன்மலையை நீ நினையாமற்போனாய்; உன்னைப் பெற்ற தேவனை மறந்தாய்.

¹⁹Yahweh saw and abhorred, because of the provocation of his sons and his daughters.

²¹They have moved me to jealousy with that which is not God. They have provoked me to anger with their vanities. I will move them to jealousy with those who are not a people. I will provoke them to anger with a foolish nation.

²⁵Outside the sword shall bereave, and in the rooms, terror; on both young man and virgin, The nursing infant with the gray-haired man.

²⁵வெளியிலே பட்டயமும், உள்ளே பயங்கரமும், வாலிபனையும், கன்னியையும், குழந்தையையும், நரைத்த கிழவனையும் அழிக்கும்.

²⁶I said, I would scatter them afar. I would make their memory to cease from among men;

²⁶எங்கள் கை உயர்ந்ததென்றும், கர்த்தர் இதையெல்லாம் செய்யவில்லை என்றும் அவர்களுடைய பகைஞர் தப்பெண்ணங்கொண்டு சொல்லுவார்கள் என்று,

²⁷were it not that I feared the provocation of the enemy, lest their adversaries should judge wrongly, lest they should say, ‘Our hand is exalted, Yahweh has not done all this.’”

²⁷நான் சத்துருவின் குரோதத்திற்கு அஞ்சாதிருந்தேனானால், நான் அவர்களை மூலைக்குமூலை சிதற அடித்து, மனிதருக்குள் அவர்களுடைய பேர் அற்றுப்போகப்பண்ணுவேன் என்று சொல்லியிருப்பேன்.

²⁸For they are a nation void of counsel. There is no understanding in them.

²⁹Oh that they were wise, that they understood this, that they would consider their latter end!

³⁰How could one chase a thousand, and two put ten thousand to flight, unless their Rock had sold them, and Yahweh had delivered them up?

³¹For their rock is not as our Rock, even our enemies themselves being judges.

³²For their vine is of the vine of Sodom, of the fields of Gomorrah. Their grapes are grapes of gall, Their clusters are bitter.

³²அவர்களுடைய திராட்சச்செடி, சோதோமிலும் கொமோரா நிலங்களிலும் பயிரான திராட்சச்செடியிலும் தாழ்ந்த ஜாதியாயிருக்கிறது, அவைகளின் பழங்கள் பித்தும் அவைகளின் குலைகள் கசப்புமாய் இருக்கிறது.

³³Their wine is the poison of serpents, The cruel venom of asps.

³³அவர்களுடைய திராட்சரசம் வலுசர்ப்பங்களின் விஷமும் விரியன் பாம்புகளின் கொடிய விஷமுமானது.

³⁴“Isn’t this laid up in store with me, sealed up among my treasures?

³⁵Vengeance is mine, and recompense, at the time when their foot slides; for the day of their calamity is at hand. The things that are to come on them shall make haste.”

³⁶For Yahweh will judge his people, and have compassion on his servants, when he sees that their power is gone, There is none remaining, shut up or left at large.

³⁷He will say, “Where are their gods, The rock in which they took refuge;

³⁸Which ate the fat of their sacrifices, And drank the wine of their drink offering? Let them rise up and help you! Let them be your protection.

³⁸அவைகள் எழுந்து உங்களுக்குச் சகாயம்பண்ணி உங்களுக்கு மறைவிடமாயிருக்கட்டும்.

³⁹“See now that I, even I, am he, There is no god with me. I kill, and I make alive. I wound, and I heal. There is no one who can deliver out of my hand.

⁴⁰For I lift up my hand to heaven, And say, As I live forever,

⁴¹if I whet my glittering sword, My hand take hold on judgment; I will render vengeance to my adversaries, and will recompense those who hate me.

⁴³Rejoice, you nations, with his people, for he will avenge the blood of his servants. He will render vengeance to his adversaries, And will make expiation for his land, for his people.

⁴³ஜாதிகளே, அவருடைய ஜனங்களோடேகூடக் களிகூருங்கள்; அவர் தமது ஊழியக்காரரின் இரத்தத்திற்குப் பழிவாங்கி, தம்முடைய சத்துருக்களுக்குப் பதிலளித்து, தமது தேசத்தின்மேலும் தமது ஜனங்களின்மேலும் கிருபையுள்ளவராவார்.

⁴⁴Moses came and spoke all the words of this song in the ears of the people, he and Joshua the son of Nun.

⁴⁴மோசேயும் நூனின் குமாரனாகிய யோசுவாவும் வந்து, இந்தப் பாட்டின் வார்த்தைகளையெல்லாம் ஜனங்கள் கேட்கத்தக்கதாகச் சொன்னார்கள்.

⁴⁵Moses made an end of speaking all these words to all Israel;

⁴⁶He said to them, “Set your heart to all the words which I testify to you this day, which you shall command your children to observe to do, all the words of this law.

⁴⁷For it is no vain thing for you; because it is your life, and through this thing you shall prolong your days in the land, where you go over the Jordan to possess it.”

⁴⁸Yahweh spoke to Moses that same day, saying,

⁴⁸அந்த நாளிலேதானே கர்த்தர் மோசேயை நோக்கி:

⁴⁹“Go up into this mountain of Abarim, to Mount Nebo, which is in the land of Moab, that is over against Jericho; and see the land of Canaan, which I give to the children of Israel for a possession;

⁴⁹நீ எரிகோவுக்கு எதிரான மோவாப் தேசத்திலுள்ள இந்த அபாரீம் என்னும் மலைகளிலிருக்கிற நேபோ பர்வதத்தில் ஏறி, நான் இஸ்ரவேல் சந்ததியாருக்குக் காணியாட்சியாகக் கொடுக்கும் கானான் தேசத்தைப் பார்;

⁵⁰and die on the mountain where you go up, and be gathered to your people, as Aaron your brother died on Mount Hor, and was gathered to his people:

⁵⁰நீங்கள் சீன் வனாந்தரத்திலுள்ள காதேசிலே மேரிபாவின் தண்ணீர் சமீபத்தில் இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரருக்குள்ளே என்னைப் பரிசுத்தம்பண்ணாமல், அவர்கள் நடுவே என் கட்டளைகளை மீறினதினாலே,

⁵¹because you trespassed against me in the midst of the children of Israel at the waters of Meribah of Kadesh, in the wilderness of Zin; because you didn’t sanctify me in the midst of the children of Israel.

⁵¹உன் சகோதரனாகிய ஆரோன் ஓர் என்னும் மலையிலே மரித்து, தன் ஜனத்தாரிடத்தில் சேர்க்கப்பட்டதுபோல நீயும் ஏறப்போகிற மலையிலே மரித்து, உன் ஜனத்தாரிடத்தில் சேர்க்கப்படுவாய்.

⁵²For you shall see the land before you; but you shall not go there into the land which I give the children of Israel.”

⁵²நான் இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரருக்குக் கொடுக்கப்போகிற எதிரேயிருக்கிற தேசத்தை நீ பார்ப்பாய்; ஆனாலும் அதற்குள் நீ பிரவேசிப்பதில்லை என்றார்.
