¹Then Job answered,

¹யோபு பிரதியுத்தரமாக:

²“No doubt, but you are the people, and wisdom shall die with you.

²ஆம், நீங்களே ஞானமுள்ள ஜனங்கள்; உங்களுடனே ஞானம் சாகும்.

³But I have understanding as well as you; I am not inferior to you. Yes, who doesn’t know such things as these?

³உங்களைப்போல எனக்கும் புத்தியுண்டு; உங்களிலும் நான் தாழ்ந்தவன் அல்ல; இப்படிப்பட்டவைகளை அறியாதவன் யார்?

⁴I am like one who is a joke to his neighbor, I, who called on God, and he answered. The just, the blameless man is a joke.

⁴என் சிநேகிதரால் நான் நிந்திக்கப்பட்டு, தேவனை நோக்கிப் பிரார்த்திப்பேன்; அவர் எனக்கு மறு உத்தரவு அருளுவார்; உத்தமனாகிய நீதிமான் பரியாசம்பண்ணப்படுகிறான்.

⁵In the thought of him who is at ease there is contempt for misfortune. It is ready for them whose foot slips.

⁵ஆபத்துக்குள்ளானவன் சுகமாயிருக்கிறவனுடைய நினைவில் இகழ்ச்சியடைகிறான்; காலிடறினவர்களுக்கு இது நேரிடும்.

⁶The tents of robbers prosper. Those who provoke God are secure, who carry their God in their hands.

⁶கள்ளருடைய கூடாரங்களில் செல்வமுண்டு; தேவனைக் கோபப்படுத்துகிறவர்களுக்குச் சாங்கோபாங்கமுண்டு; அவர்கள் கையிலே தேவன் கொண்டுவந்து கொடுக்கிறார்.

⁷“But ask the animals, now, and they shall teach you; the birds of the sky, and they shall tell you.

⁷இப்போதும் நீ மிருகங்களைக் கேட்டுப்பார், அவைகள் உனக்குப் போதிக்கும் ஆகாயத்துப் பறவைகளைக் கேள், அவைகள் உனக்கு அறிவிக்கும்.

⁸Or speak to the earth, and it shall teach you. The fish of the sea shall declare to you.

⁸அல்லது பூமியை விசாரித்துக் கேள், அது உனக்கு உபதேசிக்கும்; சமுத்திரத்தின் மச்சங்களைக் கேள், அவைகள் உனக்கு விவரிக்கும்.

⁹Who doesn’t know that in all these, the hand of Yahweh has done this,

⁹கர்த்தருடைய கரம் இதைச் செய்ததென்று இவைகளெல்லாவற்றினாலும் அறியாதவன் யார்?

¹⁰in whose hand is the life of every living thing, and the breath of all mankind?

¹⁰சகல பிராணிகளின் ஜீவனும், மாம்சமான சகல மனுஷரின் ஆவியும் அவர் கையிலிருக்கிறது.

¹¹Doesn’t the ear try words, even as the palate tastes its food?

¹¹வாயானது போஜனத்தை ருசிபார்க்கிறதுபோல, செவியானது வார்த்தைகளைச் சோதித்துப்பார்க்கிறதல்லவா?

¹²With aged men is wisdom, in length of days understanding.

¹²முதியோரிடத்தில் ஞானமும் வயது சென்றவர்களிடத்தில் புத்தியும் இருக்குமே.

¹³“With God is wisdom and might. He has counsel and understanding.

¹³அவரிடத்தில் ஞானமும் வல்லமையும் எத்தனை அதிகமாய் இருக்கும்? அவருக்குத்தான் ஆலோசனையும் புத்தியும் உண்டு.

¹⁴Behold, he breaks down, and it can’t be built again. He imprisons a man, and there can be no release.

¹⁴இதோ, அவர் இடித்தால் கட்டமுடியாது; அவர் மனுஷனை அடைத்தால் விடுவிக்கமுடியாது.

¹⁵Behold, he withholds the waters, and they dry up. Again, he sends them out, and they overturn the earth.

¹⁵இதோ, அவர் தண்ணீர்களை அடக்கினால் எல்லாம் உலர்ந்துபோம்; அவர் அவைகளை வரவிட்டால், பூமியைக் கீழதுமேலதாக்கும்.

¹⁶With him is strength and wisdom. The deceived and the deceiver are his.

¹⁶அவரிடத்தில் பெலனும் ஞானமுமுண்டு; மோசம் போகிறவனும் மோசம் போக்குகிறவனும், அவர் கையின் கீழிருக்கிறார்கள்.

¹⁷He leads counselors away stripped. He makes judges fools.

¹⁷அவர் ஆலோசனைக்காரரைச் சிறைபிடித்து, நியாயாதிபதிகளை மதிமயக்குகிறார்.

¹⁸He loosens the bond of kings. He binds their waist with a belt.

¹⁸அவர் ராஜாக்களுடைய கட்டுகளை அவிழ்த்து, அவர்கள் இடுப்புகளைக் கச்சைகட்டுகிறார்.

¹⁹He leads priests away stripped, and overthrows the mighty.

¹⁹அவர் மந்திரிகளைச் சிறைபிடித்துக்கொண்டுபோய், பெலவான்களைக் கவிழ்த்துப்போடுகிறார்.

²⁰He removes the speech of those who are trusted, and takes away the understanding of the elders.

²⁰அவர் நம்பிக்கையுள்ளவர்களுடைய வாக்கை விலக்கி, முதிர்வயதுள்ளவர்களின் ஆலோசனையை வாங்கிப்போடுகிறார்.

²¹He pours contempt on princes, and loosens the belt of the strong.

²¹அவர் பிரபுக்களின்மேல் இகழ்ச்சி வரப்பண்ணுகிறார்; பலவான்களின் கச்சையைத் தளர்ந்துபோகப்பண்ணுகிறார்.

²²He uncovers deep things out of darkness, and brings out to light the shadow of death.

²²அவர் அந்தகாரத்திலிருக்கிற ஆழங்களை வெளியரங்கமாக்கி, மரண இருளை வெளிச்சத்தில் கொண்டுவருகிறார்.

²³He increases the nations, and he destroys them. He enlarges the nations, and he leads them captive.

²³அவர் ஜாதிகளைப் பெருகவும் அழியவும்பண்ணுகிறார்; அவர் ஜாதிகளைப் பரவவும் குறுகவும் பண்ணுகிறார்.

²⁴He takes away understanding from the chiefs of the people of the earth, and causes them to wander in a wilderness where there is no way.

²⁴அவர் பூமியிலுள்ள ஜனத்தினுடைய அதிபதிகளின் நெஞ்சை அகற்றிப்போட்டு, அவர்களை வழியில்லாத அந்தரத்திலே அலையப்பண்ணுகிறார்.

²⁵They grope in the dark without light. He makes them stagger like a drunken man.

²⁵அவர்கள் வெளிச்சமற்ற இருளிலே தடவித்திரிகிறார்கள்; வெறித்தவர்களைப்போல அவர்களைத் தடுமாறித் திரியப்பண்ணுகிறார்.
