¹When Israel went forth out of Egypt, the house of Jacob from a people of foreign language;

¹இஸ்ரவேல் எகிப்திலும், யாக்கோபின் குடும்பம் அந்நிய பாஷைக்காரரான ஜனத்திலுமிருந்து புறப்பட்டபோது,

²Judah became his sanctuary, Israel his dominion.

²யூதா அவருக்குப் பரிசுத்த ஸ்தானமும், இஸ்ரவேல் அவருக்கு இராஜ்யமுமாயிற்று.

³The sea saw it, and fled. The Jordan was driven back.

³கடல் கண்டு விலகி ஓடிற்று; யோர்தான் பின்னிட்டுத் திரும்பினது.

⁴The mountains skipped like rams, the little hills like lambs.

⁴மலைகள் ஆட்டுக்கடாக்களைப்போலவும், குன்றுகள் ஆட்டுக்குட்டிகளைப்போலவும் துள்ளினது.

⁵What was it, you sea, that you fled? You Jordan, that you turned back?

⁵கடலே, நீ விலகியோடுகிறதற்கும்; யோர்தானே, நீ பின்னிட்டுத் திரும்புகிறதற்கும்;

⁶You mountains, that you skipped like rams; you little hills, like lambs?

⁶மலைகளே, நீங்கள் ஆட்டுக்கடாக்களைப்போலவும்; குன்றுகளே, நீங்கள் ஆட்டுக்குட்டிகளைப்போலவும் துள்ளுகிறதற்கும், உங்களுக்கு என்ன வந்தது?

⁷Tremble, you earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob,

⁷பூமியே, நீ ஆண்டவருக்கு முன்பாகவும், யாக்கோபுடைய தேவனுக்கு முன்பாகவும் அதிரு.

⁸who turned the rock into a pool of water, the flint into a spring of waters.

⁸அவர் கன்மலையைத் தண்ணீர்த் தடாகமாகவும், கற்பாறையை நீரூற்றுகளாகவும் மாற்றுகிறார்.
