1For we know that if the earthly house of our tent is dissolved, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal, in the heavens.
1เพราะเรารู้ว่า ถ้าเรือนดินแห่งพลับพลาของเรานี้จะพังทำลายเสีย เราก็ยังมีที่อาศัยซึ่งพระเจ้าทรงโปรดประทานให้ ที่มิได้สร้างด้วยมือมนุษย์ และตั้งอยู่เป็นนิตย์ในสวรรค์
2For most certainly in this we groan, longing to be clothed with our habitation which is from heaven;
2เพราะว่าในร่างกายนี้เรายังครวญคร่ำอยู่ มีความปรารถนาอย่างยิ่งที่จะสวมที่อาศัยของเราที่มาจากสวรรค์
3if so be that being clothed we will not be found naked.
3ถ้าได้สวมเช่นนั้นแล้ว เราก็จะมิได้ถูกพบเห็นว่าเปลือยเปล่าอีก
4For indeed we who are in this tent do groan, being burdened; not that we desire to be unclothed, but that we desire to be clothed, that what is mortal may be swallowed up by life.
4เพราะว่าเราผู้อาศัยในพลับพลานี้จึงครวญคร่ำเป็นทุกข์ มิใช่เพราะปรารถนาที่จะอยู่ตัวเปล่า แต่ปรารถนาจะสวมกายใหม่นั้น เพื่อว่าร่างกายของเราซึ่งจะต้องตายนั้นจะได้ถูกชีวิตอมตะกลืนเสีย
5Now he who made us for this very thing is God, who also gave to us the down payment of the Spirit.
5แต่พระเจ้าทรงเป็นผู้เตรียมเราไว้สำหรับการเปลี่ยนแปลงนี้ และพระองค์ได้ทรงโปรดประทานพระวิญญาณเป็นมัดจำไว้กับเรา
6Therefore we are always confident and know that while we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord;
6เหตุฉะนั้นเรามั่นใจอยู่เสมอรู้อยู่แล้วว่า ขณะที่เราอยู่ในร่างกายนี้ เราอยู่ปราศจากองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้า
7for we walk by faith, not by sight.
7(เพราะเราดำเนินโดยความเชื่อ มิใช่ตามที่ตามองเห็น)
8We are courageous, I say, and are willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be at home with the Lord.
8เรามีความมั่นใจ และเราปรารถนาจะอยู่กับองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้ามากกว่าอยู่ในร่างกายนี้
9Therefore also we make it our aim, whether at home or absent, to be well pleasing to him.
9เหตุฉะนั้นเราตั้งเป้าของเราว่า จะอยู่ในกายนี้ก็ดี หรือไม่อยู่ก็ดี เราก็จะเป็นที่พอพระทัยของพระองค์
10For we must all be revealed before the judgment seat of Christ; that each one may receive the things in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad.
10เพราะว่าจำเป็นที่เราทุกคนจะต้องปรากฏตัวที่หน้าบัลลังก์พิพากษาของพระคริสต์ เพื่อทุกคนจะได้รับสมกับการที่ได้ประพฤติในร่างกายนี้ แล้วแต่จะดีหรือชั่ว
11Knowing therefore the fear of the Lord, we persuade men, but we are revealed to God; and I hope that we are revealed also in your consciences.
11เพราะเหตุที่เรารู้จักความน่าเกรงขามขององค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้า เราจึงชักชวนคนทั้งหลาย แต่เราเป็นที่ประจักษ์แก่พระเจ้า และข้าพเจ้าหวังว่า เราได้ปรากฏประจักษ์แก่จิตสำนึกผิดและชอบของท่านด้วย
12For we are not commending ourselves to you again, but speak as giving you occasion of boasting on our behalf, that you may have something to answer those who boast in appearance, and not in heart.
12เพราะเราไม่ได้ยกย่องตัวเองกับท่านทั้งหลายอีก แต่เราให้ท่านมีโอกาสที่จะนำเราออกอวดได้ เพื่อท่านจะได้มีข้อโต้ตอบคนเหล่านั้นที่ชอบอวดในสิ่งซึ่งปรากฏ แต่มิได้อวดในสิ่งซึ่งอยู่ในจิตใจ
13For if we are beside ourselves, it is for God. Or if we are of sober mind, it is for you.
13เพราะว่าถ้าเราได้ประพฤติอย่างคนเสียจริต เราก็ได้ประพฤติเพราะเห็นแก่พระเจ้า หรือถ้าเราประพฤติอย่างคนปกติ ก็เพื่อประโยชน์แก่ท่านทั้งหลาย
14For the love of Christ constrains us; because we judge thus, that one died for all, therefore all died.
14เพราะว่าความรักของพระคริสต์ได้ครอบครองเราอยู่ เพราะเราคิดเห็นอย่างนี้ว่า ถ้าผู้หนึ่งได้ตายเพื่อคนทั้งปวง เหตุฉะนั้นคนทั้งปวงจึงตายแล้ว
15He died for all, that those who live should no longer live to themselves, but to him who for their sakes died and rose again.
15และพระองค์ได้ทรงวายพระชนม์เพื่อคนทั้งปวง เพื่อคนเหล่านั้นที่มีชีวิตอยู่จะมิได้เป็นอยู่เพื่อประโยชน์แก่ตัวเองอีกต่อไป แต่จะอยู่เพื่อพระองค์ผู้ทรงสิ้นพระชนม์ และทรงเป็นขึ้นมาเพราะเห็นแก่เขาทั้งหลาย
16Therefore we know no one after the flesh from now on. Even though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now we know him so no more.
16เหตุฉะนั้นตั้งแต่นี้ไปเราจะไม่พิจารณาผู้ใดตามเนื้อหนัง แม้ว่าเมื่อก่อนเราเคยพิจารณาพระคริสต์ตามเนื้อหนังก็จริง แต่เดี๋ยวนี้เราจะไม่พิจารณาพระองค์เช่นนั้นอีก
17Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new.
17เหตุฉะนั้นถ้าผู้ใดอยู่ในพระคริสต์ ผู้นั้นก็เป็นคนที่ถูกสร้างใหม่แล้ว สิ่งสารพัดที่เก่าๆก็ล่วงไป ดูเถิด กลายเป็นสิ่งใหม่ทั้งนั้น
18But all things are of God, who reconciled us to himself through Jesus Christ, and gave to us the ministry of reconciliation;
18ทั้งสิ้นนี้เกิดมาจากพระเจ้า ผู้ทรงให้เราคืนดีกันกับพระองค์ทางพระเยซูคริสต์ และทรงโปรดประทานให้เรารับใช้ในเรื่องการคืนดีกัน
19namely, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to himself, not reckoning to them their trespasses, and having committed to us the word of reconciliation.
19คือพระเจ้าผู้สถิตในองค์พระคริสต์ทรงให้โลกนี้คืนดีกันกับพระองค์เอง มิได้ทรงถือโทษในการละเมิดของเขา และทรงมอบพระวจนะแห่งการคืนดีกันนั้นไว้กับเรา
20We are therefore ambassadors on behalf of Christ, as though God were entreating by us: we beg you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.
20ฉะนั้นเราจึงเป็นราชทูตของพระคริสต์ โดยที่พระเจ้าทรงขอร้องท่านทั้งหลายทางเรา เราผู้แทนของพระคริสต์จึงขอร้องท่านให้คืนดีกันกับพระเจ้า
21For him who knew no sin he made to be sin on our behalf; so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
21เพราะว่าพระเจ้าได้ทรงกระทำพระองค์ผู้ทรงไม่มีบาป ให้เป็นความบาปเพราะเห็นแก่เรา เพื่อเราจะได้เป็นคนชอบธรรมของพระเจ้าทางพระองค์
