1The word of Yahweh came to me, saying,
1พระวจนะของพระเยโฮวาห์มาถึงข้าพเจ้าว่า
2Son of man, what is the vine tree more than any tree, the vine-branch which is among the trees of the forest?
2"บุตรแห่งมนุษย์เอ๋ย ต้นเถาองุ่นวิเศษกว่าต้นไม้อื่น และวิเศษกว่าไม้กิ่งหนึ่งซึ่งอยู่ท่ามกล่างต้นไม้ในป่าหรือ
3Shall wood be taken of it to make any work? or will men take a pin of it to hang any vessel thereon?
3เขาเอาไม้ต้นเถาองุ่นไปทำอะไรบ้างหรือ คนเอาไปทำขอสำหรับแขวนภาชนะอันใดหรือ
4Behold, it is cast into the fire for fuel; the fire has devoured both its ends, and its midst is burned: is it profitable for any work?
4ดูเถิด เขาใช้เป็นฟืนใส่ไฟ เมื่อไฟไหม้ปลายทั้งสองแล้ว กลางก็เป็นถ่าน จะใช้ประโยชน์อะไรได้หรือ
5Behold, when it was whole, it was meet for no work: how much less, when the fire has devoured it, and it is burned, shall it yet be meet for any work!
5ดูเถิด เมื่อมันยังดีอยู่ก็มิได้ใช้ประโยชน์อะไร เมื่อถูกไฟไหม้เป็นถ่านแล้วยิ่งมีประโยชน์น้อยลง จะใช้ทำอะไรได้บ้างเล่า
6Therefore thus says the Lord Yahweh: As the vine tree among the trees of the forest, which I have given to the fire for fuel, so will I give the inhabitants of Jerusalem.
6เพราะฉะนั้นองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าพระเจ้าจึงตรัสดังนี้ว่า ต้นเถาองุ่นซึ่งอยู่ท่ามกลางต้นไม้ในป่า เราทิ้งให้มันเป็นฟืนใส่ไฟเสียฉันใด เราจะทิ้งชาวเยรูซาเล็มฉันนั้น
7I will set my face against them; they shall go forth from the fire, but the fire shall devour them; and you shall know that I am Yahweh, when I set my face against them.
7เราจะมุ่งหน้าของเราต่อสู้เขา แม้ว่าเขาจะหนีออกจากไฟอันหนึ่ง ไฟอีกอันหนึ่งก็ยังจะเผาผลาญเขา และเมื่อเรามุ่งหน้าของเราต่อสู้เขา เจ้าจะทราบว่า เราคือพระเยโฮวาห์
8I will make the land desolate, because they have committed a trespass, says the Lord Yahweh.
8องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าพระเจ้าตรัสว่า เราจะกระทำให้แผ่นดินนั้นรกร้างไป เพราะเขาได้ประพฤติละเมิด"
