¹Again the word of Yahweh came to me, saying,

¹พระวจนะของพระเยโฮวาห์มายังข้าพเจ้าอีกว่า

²Son of man, cause Jerusalem to know her abominations;

²"บุตรแห่งมนุษย์เอ๋ย จงให้เยรูซาเล็มทราบถึงสิ่งที่น่าสะอิดสะเอียนของตัวเธอเอง

³and say, Thus says the Lord Yahweh to Jerusalem: Your birth and your birth is of the land of the Canaanite; the Amorite was your father, and your mother was a Hittite.

³และกล่าวว่า องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าพระเจ้าตรัสอย่างนี้แก่เยรูซาเล็มว่า ดั้งเดิมและกำเนิดของเจ้าเป็นแผ่นดินของคนคานาอัน พ่อของเจ้าเป็นคนอาโมไรต์ และแม่ของเจ้าเป็นคนฮิตไทต์

⁴As for your birth, in the day you were born your navel was not cut, neither were you washed in water to cleanse you; you weren’t salted at all, nor swaddled at all.

⁴พูดถึงกำเนิดของเจ้า ในวันที่เจ้าเกิดมานั้นเขามิได้ตัดสายสะดือ และเขาก็มิได้ใช้น้ำล้างชำระเจ้า มิได้เอาเกลือถู มิได้เอาผ้าพันเจ้าไว้

⁵No eye pitied you, to do any of these things to you, to have compassion on you; but you were cast out in the open field, for that your person was abhorred, in the day that you were born.

⁵ไม่มีตาสักดวงหนึ่งสงสารเจ้า ที่จะเมตตาเจ้าและกระทำสิ่งเหล่านี้ให้เจ้า เจ้าถูกทอดทิ้งในพื้นทุ่ง เพราะในวันที่เจ้าเกิดนั้นเจ้าเป็นที่รังเกียจ

⁶When I passed by you, and saw you wallowing in your blood, I said to you, Though you are in your blood, live; yes, I said to you, Though you are in your blood, live.

⁶และเมื่อเราผ่านเจ้าไป เห็นเจ้าดิ้นกระแด่วๆอยู่ในกองโลหิตของเจ้า เราก็พูดกับเจ้าในกองโลหิตของเจ้าว่า `จงมีชีวิตอยู่' เออ เราก็พูดกับเจ้าในกองโลหิตของเจ้าว่า `จงมีชีวิตอยู่'

⁷I caused you to multiply as that which grows in the field, and you increased and grew great, and you attained to excellent ornament; your breasts were fashioned, and your hair was grown; yet you were naked and bare.

⁷เราได้กระทำให้เจ้าทวีคูณเหมือนอย่างพืชในท้องนา เจ้าก็เติบโตและสูงขึ้นจนเป็นสาวเต็มตัว ถันของเจ้าก็ก่อรูปขึ้นมา และขนของเจ้าก็งอก ทั้งๆที่เจ้าเคยเปลือยเปล่าและล่อนจ้อน

⁸Now when I passed by you, and looked at you, behold, your time was the time of love; and I spread my skirt over you, and covered your nakedness: yes, I swore to you, and entered into a covenant with you, says the Lord Yahweh, and you became mine.

⁸และเมื่อเราผ่านเจ้าไปอีกครั้งหนึ่งและมองดูเจ้า ดูเถิด เจ้ามีอายุรู้จักรักแล้ว เราก็ขยายชายเสื้อคลุมเจ้าและปกคลุมความเปลือยเปล่าของเจ้าไว้ องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าพระเจ้าตรัสว่า เออ เราก็ปฏิญาณและกระทำพันธสัญญากับเจ้า และเจ้าก็เป็นของเรา

⁹Then washed I you with water; yes, I thoroughly washed away your blood from you, and I anointed you with oil.

⁹และเราก็เอาเจ้าอาบน้ำ ล้างโลหิตเสียจากเจ้า และเจิมเจ้าด้วยน้ำมัน

¹⁰I clothed you also with embroidered work, and shod you with sealskin, and I dressed you about with fine linen, and covered you with silk.

¹⁰เราแต่งตัวเจ้าด้วยเสื้อปัก และเอารองเท้าหนังทาคัชสวมให้เจ้า เราพันเจ้าไว้ด้วยผ้าป่านเนื้อละเอียด และคลุมเจ้าไว้ด้วยผ้าไหม

¹¹I decked you with ornaments, and I put bracelets on your hands, and a chain on your neck.

¹¹เราแต่งตัวเจ้าด้วยเครื่องอาภรณ์ สวมกำไลมือให้เจ้า และสวมสร้อยคอให้เจ้า

¹²I put a ring on your nose, and earrings in your ears, and a beautiful crown on your head.

¹²เราเอาเพชรพลอยเม็ดหนึ่งใส่หน้าผากเจ้า และใส่ตุ้มหูที่หูของเจ้า และสวมมงกุฎงามไว้บนศีรษะของเจ้า

¹³Thus you were decked with gold and silver; and your clothing was of fine linen, and silk, and embroidered work; you ate fine flour, and honey, and oil; and you were exceeding beautiful, and you prospered to royal estate.

¹³เราก็ประดับเจ้าด้วยทองคำและเงิน และเสื้อผ้าของเจ้าก็เป็นผ้าป่านเนื้อละเอียด ผ้าไหมและผ้าปัก เจ้ากินยอดแป้ง น้ำผึ้งและน้ำมัน เจ้างามเลิศทีเดียว และเจ้าเจริญขึ้นเป็นชั้นจ้าว

¹⁴Your renown went forth among the nations for your beauty; for it was perfect, through my majesty which I had put on you, says the Lord Yahweh.

¹⁴ชื่อเสียงของเจ้าก็ลือไปท่ามกลางประชาชาติเพราะความงามของเจ้า ด้วยความงามนั้นก็สมบูรณ์ทีเดียว เนื่องจากความสง่างามที่เราได้ทุ่มเทให้เจ้า องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าพระเจ้าตรัสดังนี้แหละ

¹⁵But you trusted in your beauty, and played the prostitute because of your renown, and poured out your prostitution on everyone who passed by; his it was.

¹⁵แต่เจ้าวางใจในความงามของเจ้า และได้เล่นชู้เพราะชื่อเสียงของเจ้า ไม่ว่าผู้ใดจะผ่านมา เจ้าก็ให้หลงระเริงไปด้วยการเล่นชู้ของเจ้า

¹⁶You took of your garments, and made for yourselves high places decked with various colors, and played the prostitute on them: the like things shall not come, neither shall it be so.

¹⁶เจ้าเอาเสื้อผ้าของเจ้าบ้าง และเจ้าได้สร้างบรรดาปูชนียสถานสูง ประดับอย่างหรูหรา แล้วก็เล่นชู้อยู่บนนั้น ไม่เคยมีเหมือนอย่างนี้ ต่อไปก็ไม่มีเหมือน

¹⁷You also took your beautiful jewels of my gold and of my silver, which I had given you, and made for yourself images of men, and played the prostitute with them;

¹⁷เจ้ายังเอาเครื่องรูปพรรณอันงามของเจ้า ซึ่งเป็นทองคำของเราและเงินของเรา ซึ่งเราได้ให้แก่เจ้า แล้วเจ้าสร้างเป็นรูปผู้ชายสำหรับเจ้า และเจ้าก็เล่นชู้อยู่กับรูปเหล่านั้น

¹⁸and you took your embroidered garments, and covered them, and set my oil and my incense before them.

¹⁸เจ้าเอาเครื่องแต่งตัวที่ปักไปห่มรูปเหล่านั้นไว้ และวางน้ำมันและเครื่องหอมของเราไว้ข้างหน้ามัน

¹⁹My bread also which I gave you, fine flour, and oil, and honey, with which I fed you, you even set it before them for a pleasant aroma; and thus it was, says the Lord Yahweh.

¹⁹อาหารที่เราให้แก่เจ้าก็เหมือนกัน คือเราเลี้ยงเจ้าด้วยยอดแป้ง น้ำมันและน้ำผึ้ง เจ้าก็เอามาวางข้างหน้ามัน ให้เป็นกลิ่นหอมที่พึงใจ และก็เป็นอย่างนั้น องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าพระเจ้าตรัสดังนี้แหละ

²⁰Moreover you have taken your sons and your daughters, whom you have borne to me, and you have sacrificed these to them to be devoured. Was your prostitution a small matter,

²⁰ยิ่งกว่านั้นอีก เจ้าได้นำบุตรชายของเจ้าและบุตรสาวของเจ้า ซึ่งเจ้าได้ให้บังเกิดมาเพื่อเรา และเจ้าก็ได้ถวายบูชาแก่มันเพื่อให้มันเผาผลาญ การเล่นชู้ของเจ้าเป็นสิ่งเล็กน้อยอยู่หรือ

²¹that you have slain my children, and delivered them up, in causing them to pass through the fire to them?

²¹เจ้าจึงได้ฆ่าลูกของเราถวายแก่รูปเหล่านั้นโดยให้ลุยไฟ

²²In all your abominations and your prostitution you have not remembered the days of your youth, when you were naked and bare, and were wallowing in your blood.

²²และในการอันน่าสะอิดสะเอียนของเจ้าและการเล่นชู้ของเจ้า เจ้ามิได้ระลึกถึงวันที่เจ้ายังเด็กอยู่เมื่อเจ้าเปลือยเปล่าและล่อนจ้อน และมัวหมองอยู่ในกองเลือดของเจ้า

²³It has happened after all your wickedness, (woe, woe to you! says the Lord Yahweh),

²³ต่อมาภายหลังจากความชั่วร้ายทั้งสิ้นของเจ้า (องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าพระเจ้าตรัสว่า วิบัติ วิบัติแก่เจ้า)

²⁴that you have built for yourselves a vaulted place, and have made yourselves a lofty place in every street.

²⁴เจ้าได้สร้างห้องหลังคาโค้งสำหรับตัว ถนนทุกสายเจ้าก็สร้างสถานที่สูงสำหรับตัว

²⁵You have built your lofty place at the head of every way, and have made your beauty an abomination, and have opened your feet to everyone who passed by, and multiplied your prostitution.

²⁵หัวถนนทุกแห่งเจ้าสร้างที่สูงของเจ้า และเอาความงามของเจ้ามาทำลามก อ้าเท้าของเจ้าให้ผู้ที่ผ่านไปมาไม่ว่าใคร และทวีการเล่นชู้ของเจ้า

²⁶You have also committed sexual immorality with the Egyptians, your neighbors, great of flesh; and have multiplied your prostitution, to provoke me to anger.

²⁶เจ้าได้เล่นชู้กับคนอียิปต์ ซึ่งเป็นเพื่อนบ้านที่มักมากของเจ้า ทวีการเล่นชู้ของเจ้าเพื่อกระทำให้เรากริ้ว

²⁷See therefore, I have stretched out my hand over you, and have diminished your ordinary food, and delivered you to the will of those who hate you, the daughters of the Philistines, who are ashamed of your lewd way.

²⁷ดูเถิด เราจึงเหยียดมือของเราออกต่อสู้เจ้า และลดอาหารส่วนแบ่งของเจ้าลง และมอบเจ้าไว้ให้แก่พวกที่เกลียดเจ้าให้เขากระทำตามใจชอบ คือบรรดาบุตรสาวคนฟีลิสเตีย ผู้ซึ่งละอายในความประพฤติอันแก่กามของเจ้า

²⁸You have played the prostitute also with the Assyrians, because you were insatiable; yes, you have played the prostitute with them, and yet you weren’t satisfied.

²⁸เจ้ายังเล่นชู้กับคนอัสซีเรียด้วย เพราะว่าเจ้าไม่รู้จักอิ่ม เออ เจ้าเล่นชู้กับเขาทั้งหลาย ถึงกระนั้นเจ้าก็ยังไม่อิ่มใจ

²⁹You have moreover multiplied your prostitution to the land of merchants, to Chaldea; and yet you weren’t satisfied with this.

²⁹เจ้ายังทวีการเล่นชู้ของเจ้าในแผ่นดินคานาอันกับคนเคลเดีย ถึงแม้กับแผ่นดินนี้เจ้าก็ยังไม่อิ่มใจ

³⁰How weak is your heart, says the Lord Yahweh, since you do all these things, the work of an impudent prostitute;

³⁰องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าพระเจ้าตรัสว่า แหมใจของเจ้าเป็นโรครักเสียจริงๆในเมื่อเจ้ากระทำสิ่งเหล่านี้ ซึ่งเป็นการกระทำของหญิงแพศยาไพร่ๆ

³¹in that you build your vaulted place at the head of every way, and make your lofty place in every street, and have not been as a prostitute, in that you scorn pay.

³¹คือสร้างห้องหลังคาโค้งไว้ที่หัวถนนทุกแห่ง และสร้างสถานที่สูงของเจ้าไว้ตามถนนทุกสาย ถึงกระนั้นเจ้าก็ยังไม่เหมือนหญิงแพศยา เพราะเจ้าดูหมิ่นสินจ้าง

³²A wife who commits adultery! who takes strangers instead of her husband!

³²เป็นภรรยาที่แพศยาจัด ดูซิ ยอมรับรองแขกแปลกหน้าแทนที่จะรับรองสามี

³³They give gifts to all prostitutes; but you give your gifts to all your lovers, and bribe them, that they may come to you on every side for your prostitution.

³³ผู้ชายย่อมให้ของแก่หญิงแพศยาทุกคน แต่เจ้ากลับให้สิ่งของแก่คนรักทั้งหลายของเจ้าทุกคน ให้สินบนชักให้เขาเข้ามาจากทุกด้านเพื่อการเล่นชู้ของเจ้า

³⁴You are different from other women in your prostitution, in that no one follows you to play the prostitute; and whereas you give hire, and no hire is given to you, therefore you are different.

³⁴ฉะนั้น เจ้าจึงผิดกับหญิงอื่นในเรื่องการเล่นชู้ของเจ้า ไม่มีใครมาวิงวอนให้เล่นชู้และเจ้ากลับให้สินจ้าง ขณะเมื่อไม่มีผู้ใดให้สินจ้างแก่เจ้า เพราะฉะนั้นเจ้าจึงแตกต่างกัน

³⁵Therefore, prostitute, hear the word of Yahweh:

³⁵เหตุฉะนี้ อีแพศยาเอ๋ย จงฟังพระวจนะของพระเยโฮวาห์

³⁶Thus says the Lord Yahweh, Because your filthiness was poured out, and your nakedness uncovered through your prostitution with your lovers; and because of all the idols of your abominations, and for the blood of your children, that you gave to them;

³⁶องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าพระเจ้าตรัสดังนี้ว่า เพราะความโสโครกของเจ้าก็เทออกเสียแล้ว และการเปลือยเปล่าของเจ้าก็เผยออก โดยการเล่นชู้ของเจ้ากับคนรักของเจ้า และกับบรรดารูปเคารพซึ่งเป็นสิ่งที่น่าสะอิดสะเอียนของเจ้า และโดยโลหิตลูกของเจ้าที่เจ้าถวายให้แก่มัน

³⁷therefore see, I will gather all your lovers, with whom you have taken pleasure, and all those who you have loved, with all those who you have hated; I will even gather them against you on every side, and will uncover your nakedness to them, that they may see all your nakedness.

³⁷เพราะฉะนั้น ดูเถิด เราจะรวบรวมคนรักของเจ้าทั้งสิ้น ซึ่งเป็นผู้ที่เจ้าเพลิดเพลินด้วย ทุกคนที่เจ้ารัก และทุกคนที่เจ้าเกลียด เราจะรวบรวมเขาให้มาต่อสู้เจ้าจากทุกด้านและจะเผยความเปลือยเปล่าของเจ้าต่อหน้าเขา เพื่อเขาจะได้เห็นความเปลือยเปล่าทั้งสิ้นของเจ้า

³⁸I will judge you, as women who break wedlock and shed blood are judged; and I will bring on you the blood of wrath and jealousy.

³⁸และเราจะพิพากษาเจ้าดังที่เขาพิพากษาหญิงที่ล่วงประเวณี และกระทำให้โลหิตตก และเราจะนำเอาโลหิตแห่งความกริ้วและความหวงแหนมาเหนือเจ้า

³⁹I will also give you into their hand, and they shall throw down your vaulted place, and break down your lofty places; and they shall strip you of your clothes, and take your beautiful jewels; and they shall leave you naked and bare.

³⁹และจะมอบเจ้าไว้ในมือชู้ของเจ้า เขาจะทำลายห้องหลังคาโค้งของเจ้าลง และจะทำลายสถานที่สูงของเจ้า เขาจะปลดเอาเสื้อผ้าของเจ้า และจะเอาเครื่องรูปพรรณอันงามของเจ้าไปเสีย ปล่อยให้เจ้าเปลือยเปล่าและล่อนจ้อน

⁴⁰They shall also bring up a company against you, and they shall stone you with stones, and thrust you through with their swords.

⁴⁰เขาทั้งหลายจะนำฝูงคนมาต่อสู้เจ้า และเขาจะขว้างเจ้าด้วยก้อนหินและฟันเจ้าด้วยดาบของเขา

⁴¹They shall burn your houses with fire, and execute judgments on you in the sight of many women; and I will cause you to cease from playing the prostitute, and you shall also give no hire any more.

⁴¹และเขาจะเอาไฟเผาบ้านเรือนของเจ้า และทำการพิพากษาลงโทษเจ้าท่ามกลางสายตาของผู้หญิงเป็นอันมาก เราจะกระทำให้เจ้าหยุดเล่นชู้ และเจ้าจะไม่ให้สินจ้างอีกต่อไป

⁴²So will I cause my wrath toward you to rest, and my jealousy shall depart from you, and I will be quiet, and will be no more angry.

⁴²เราจะระบายความกริ้วของเราใส่เจ้าให้หมด ความหวงแหนจะพรากจากเจ้าไป เราจะสงบและไม่กริ้วอีกเลย

⁴³Because you have not remembered the days of your youth, but have raged against me in all these things; therefore, behold, I also will bring your way on your head, says the Lord Yahweh: and you shall not commit this lewdness with all your abominations.

⁴³เพราะว่าเจ้ามิได้ระลึกถึงวันเมื่อเจ้ายังเด็ก แต่ได้กระทำให้เรากลัดกลุ้มด้วยสิ่งเหล่านี้ทั้งสิ้น องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าพระเจ้าตรัสว่า เพราะฉะนั้น ดูเถิด เราจะตอบสนองต่อวิถีทางของเจ้าเหนือศีรษะเจ้า แล้วเจ้าจะมิได้ประพฤติการชั่วช้าลามกเพิ่มเข้ากับการอันน่าสะอิดสะเอียนทั้งสิ้นของเจ้าหรอก

⁴⁴Behold, everyone who uses proverbs shall use this proverb against you, saying, As is the mother, so is her daughter.

⁴⁴ดูเถิด ทุกคนที่ใช้สุภาษิตจะใช้สุภาษิตต่อไปนี้ในเรื่องเจ้า คือ `แม่เป็นอย่างไร ลูกสาวก็เป็นอย่างนั้น'

⁴⁵You are the daughter of your mother, who loathes her husband and her children; and you are the sister of your sisters, who loathed their husbands and their children: your mother was a Hittite, and your father an Amorite.

⁴⁵เจ้าเป็นลูกสาวของแม่ของเจ้า ผู้เกลียดสามีและบุตรของตน เจ้าเป็นสาวคนกลางของพี่และน้องสาวของเจ้า ผู้เกลียดชังสามีและบุตรของตน แม่ของเจ้าเป็นคนฮิตไทต์ พ่อของเจ้าเป็นคนอาโมไรต์

⁴⁶Your elder sister is Samaria, who dwells at your left hand, she and her daughters; and your younger sister, who dwells at your right hand, is Sodom and her daughters.

⁴⁶และพี่สาวของเจ้าคือสะมาเรีย ผู้อยู่กับบุตรสาวเหนือเจ้าทางด้านซ้าย และน้องสาวของเจ้า ผู้อยู่ทางด้านขวาของเจ้า คือโสโดมกับลูกสาวของเธอ

⁴⁷Yet have you not walked in their ways, nor done after their abominations; but, as if that were a very little thing , you were more corrupt than they in all your ways.

⁴⁷ถึงกระนั้น เจ้าก็ไม่ได้ดำเนินตามทางทั้งหลายของเขา หรือกระทำตามการอันน่าสะอิดสะเอียนของเขา แต่เพราะว่านั่นเป็นเรื่องเล็กน้อยเกินไปแล้ว แล้วเจ้าก็ทรามกว่าพวกเขาในบรรดาวิถีทางของเจ้า

⁴⁸As I live, says the Lord Yahweh, Sodom your sister has not done, she nor her daughters, as you have done, you and your daughters.

⁴⁸องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าพระเจ้าตรัสว่า เรามีชีวิตอยู่แน่ฉันใด โสโดมน้องสาวของเจ้ากับบุตรสาวของเขาก็มิได้กระทำอย่างที่เจ้าและลูกสาวของเจ้าได้กระทำ

⁴⁹Behold, this was the iniquity of your sister Sodom: pride, fullness of bread, and prosperous ease was in her and in her daughters; neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy.

⁴⁹ดูเถิด นี่แหละเป็นความชั่วช้าของโสโดมน้องสาวของเจ้าคือตัวเธอและลูกสาวของเธอมีความจองหอง มีอาหารเหลือรับประทานและมีความสบายเกิน ไม่ชูกำลังมือคนยากจนและคนขัดสน

⁵⁰They were haughty, and committed abomination before me: therefore I took them away as I saw good.

⁵⁰เขาหยิ่งยโสและกระทำสิ่งน่าสะอิดสะเอียนต่อหน้าเรา เพราะฉะนั้นเราจึงเอาเขาออกไปเสียให้พ้นๆตามที่เราเห็นว่าดี

⁵¹Neither has Samaria committed half of your sins; but you have multiplied your abominations more than they, and have justified your sisters by all your abominations which you have done.

⁵¹สะมาเรียไม่ได้ทำบาปถึงครึ่งของเจ้า แต่เจ้าได้ทวีการอันน่าสะอิดสะเอียนยิ่งกว่าเขาทั้งสอง และโดยการอันน่าสะอิดสะเอียนทั้งสิ้นที่เจ้าทำนั้น ก็กระทำให้พี่และน้องสาวของเจ้าดูเหมือนชอบธรรม

⁵²You also, bear you your own shame, in that you have given judgment for your sisters; through your sins that you have committed more abominable than they, they are more righteous that you: yes, be also confounded, and bear your shame, in that you have justified your sisters.

⁵²เจ้าผู้ซึ่งได้พิพากษาพี่และน้องสาวของเจ้า จงทนรับความอับอายขายหน้าของเจ้าเองด้วย เพราะบาปของเจ้าซึ่งเจ้าได้ทำนั้นน่าสะอิดสะเอียนยิ่งกว่าเขาไปอีก เขาจึงมีความชอบธรรมมากกว่าเจ้า เออ เจ้าจงฉงนสนเท่ห์ไปด้วย และจงทนรับความอับอายขายหน้าของเจ้า เพราะเจ้าได้กระทำให้พี่และน้องสาวของเจ้าดูเหมือนชอบธรรม

⁵³I will turn again their captivity, the captivity of Sodom and her daughters, and the captivity of Samaria and her daughters, and the captivity of your captives in their midst;

⁵³เมื่อเราจะให้เขากลับสู่สภาพเดิม ทั้งสภาพเดิมของโสโดมและบุตรสาวและสภาพเดิมของสะมาเรียและบุตรสาว เราก็จะให้เจ้ากลับสู่สภาพเดิมของเจ้าท่ามกลางเขาด้วย

⁵⁴that you may bear your own shame, and may be ashamed because of all that you have done, in that you are a comfort to them.

⁵⁴เพื่อเจ้าจะทนรับความอับอายขายหน้าของเจ้า และละอายสิ่งที่เจ้ากระทำแล้วทั้งสิ้นให้เป็นการปลอบใจแก่เขา

⁵⁵Your sisters, Sodom and her daughters, shall return to their former estate; and Samaria and her daughters shall return to their former estate; and you and your daughters shall return to your former estate.

⁵⁵เมื่อส่วนพี่และน้องสาวของเจ้า โสโดมกับบุตรสาวของเธอจะได้กลับสู่สภาวะเดิมของตน และสะมาเรียกับบุตรสาวของเธอจะกลับสู่สภาวะเดิมของตน ส่วนเจ้าและบุตรสาวของเจ้าจะกลับไปยังภาวะเดิมของเจ้า

⁵⁶For your sister Sodom was not mentioned by your mouth in the day of your pride,

⁵⁶ในสมัยที่เจ้าเย่อหยิ่งอยู่นั้น ปากของเจ้าไม่ได้กล่าวถึงโสโดมน้องสาวของเจ้ามิใช่หรือ

⁵⁷before your wickedness was uncovered, as at the time of the reproach of the daughters of Syria, and of all who are around her, the daughters of the Philistines, who do despite to you all around.

⁵⁷คือก่อนความชั่วร้ายของเจ้าจะได้เผยออก เหมือนเวลาที่เจ้าเป็นสิ่งที่น่าตำหนิแก่บุตรสาวของซีเรียและบรรดาผู้ที่อยู่ล้อมรอบเธอ คือบุตรสาวของฟีลิสเตียผู้ที่อยู่ล้อมรอบซึ่งดูหมิ่นเจ้า

⁵⁸You have borne your lewdness and your abominations, says Yahweh.

⁵⁸เจ้าต้องรับโทษความชั่วช้าลามกของเจ้าและการอันน่าสะอิดสะเอียนของเจ้า พระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสดังนี้แหละ

⁵⁹For thus says the Lord Yahweh: I will also deal with you as you have done, who have despised the oath in breaking the covenant.

⁵⁹เพราะองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าพระเจ้าตรัสดังนี้ว่า เราจะกระทำแก่เจ้าอย่างที่เจ้าได้กระทำแล้วนั้น ผู้ดูหมิ่นคำปฏิญาณและหักพันธสัญญา

⁶⁰Nevertheless I will remember my covenant with you in the days of your youth, and I will establish to you an everlasting covenant.

⁶⁰ถึงกระนั้นเราจะระลึกถึงพันธสัญญาของเรา ซึ่งเราทำไว้กับเจ้าในสมัยเมื่อเจ้ายังสาวอยู่ และเราจะสถาปนาพันธสัญญานิรันดร์ไว้กับเจ้า

⁶¹Then you shall remember your ways, and be ashamed, when you shall receive your sisters, your elder sisters and your younger; and I will give them to you for daughters, but not by your covenant.

⁶¹แล้วเจ้าจะระลึกถึงทางทั้งหลายของเจ้า และมีความละอาย เมื่อเจ้ารับทั้งพี่และน้องสาวของเจ้า และเรามอบให้แก่เจ้าเป็นบุตรสาว แต่ไม่ใช่ตามพันธสัญญาซึ่งทำไว้กับเจ้า

⁶²I will establish my covenant with you; and you shall know that I am Yahweh;

⁶²เราจะสถาปนาพันธสัญญาของเราไว้กับเจ้า และเจ้าจะทราบว่าเราคือพระเยโฮวาห์

⁶³that you may remember, and be confounded, and never open your mouth any more, because of your shame, when I have forgiven you all that you have done, says the Lord Yahweh.

⁶³เพื่อเจ้าจะจำได้และสนเท่ห์ และเพราะความละอายของเจ้า เจ้าจะไม่อ้าปากพูดอีก เมื่อเราลบมลทินบาปทุกสิ่งที่เจ้าได้กระทำมาแล้ว องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าพระเจ้าตรัสดังนี้"
