¹It happened in the seventh year, in the fifth month, the tenth day of the month, that certain of the elders of Israel came to inquire of Yahweh, and sat before me.

¹อยู่มาวันที่สิบ เดือนที่ห้าในปีที่เจ็ด พวกผู้ใหญ่แห่งอิสราเอลบางคนได้มาทูลถามพระเยโฮวาห์ และมานั่งอยู่ข้างหน้าข้าพเจ้า

²The word of Yahweh came to me, saying,

²พระวจนะของพระเยโฮวาห์มายังข้าพเจ้าว่า

³Son of man, speak to the elders of Israel, and tell them, Thus says the Lord Yahweh: Is it to inquire of me that you have come? As I live, says the Lord Yahweh, I will not be inquired of by you.

³"บุตรแห่งมนุษย์เอ๋ย จงพูดกับพวกผู้ใหญ่แห่งอิสราเอล และกล่าวแก่เขาว่า องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าพระเจ้าตรัสดังนี้ว่า ที่เจ้ามากันนี้จะมาถามเราหรือ องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าพระเจ้าตรัสว่า เรามีชีวิตอยู่แน่ฉันใด เราจะไม่ยอมให้เจ้ามาถามเรา

⁴Will you judge them, son of man, will you judge them? Cause them to know the abominations of their fathers;

⁴บุตรแห่งมนุษย์เอ๋ย เจ้าจะพิพากษาเขาหรือ เจ้าจะพิพากษาเขาหรือ จงให้เขาทั้งหลายทราบถึงการกระทำอันน่าสะอิดสะเอียนของบรรพบุรุษของเขา

⁵and tell them, Thus says the Lord Yahweh: In the day when I chose Israel, and swore to the seed of the house of Jacob, and made myself known to them in the land of Egypt, when I swore to them, saying, I am Yahweh your God;

⁵และจงกล่าวแก่เขาว่า องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าพระเจ้าตรัสดังนี้ว่า ในวันนั้นเมื่อเราเลือกสรรอิสราเอลไว้ เราปฏิญาณต่อเชื้อสายแห่งวงศ์วานยาโคบ โดยสำแดงตัวเราให้เขารู้จักในแผ่นดินอียิปต์ เมื่อเราปฏิญาณกับเขาว่า เราเป็นพระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของเจ้า

⁶in that day I swore to them, to bring them forth out of the land of Egypt into a land that I had searched out for them, flowing with milk and honey, which is the glory of all lands.

⁶ในวันนั้น เราปฏิญาณต่อเขาว่า เราจะนำเขาออกจากแผ่นดินอียิปต์ไปยังแผ่นดินที่เราหาให้เขาทั้งหลาย เป็นแผ่นดินที่มีน้ำนมและน้ำผึ้งไหลบริบูรณ์ เป็นแผ่นดินที่มีสง่าราศีที่สุดในแผ่นดินทั้งหลาย

⁷I said to them, Cast away every man the abominations of his eyes, and don’t defile yourselves with the idols of Egypt; I am Yahweh your God.

⁷และเรากล่าวแก่เขาว่า เจ้าทุกคนจงทิ้งสิ่งที่น่าสะอิดสะเอียนซึ่งนัยน์ตาของเจ้าทั้งหลายกำลังเพลิดเพลินอยู่นั้นเสีย อย่ากระทำตัวของเจ้าให้มลทินไปด้วยรูปเคารพของอียิปต์ เราคือพระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของเจ้า

⁸But they rebelled against me, and would not listen to me; they each didn’t throw away the abominations of their eyes, neither did they forsake the idols of Egypt. Then I said I would pour out my wrath on them, to accomplish my anger against them in the midst of the land of Egypt.

⁸แต่เขาทั้งหลายได้กบฏต่อเราและไม่ยอมฟังเรา เขาทั้งหลายไม่ได้ทิ้งสิ่งที่น่าสะอิดสะเอียนซึ่งนัยน์ตาของเขาเพลิดเพลินอยู่นั้นทุกคน ทั้งเขาก็มิได้ละทิ้งรูปเคารพของอียิปต์ แล้วเราก็คิดว่า เราจะระบายความกริ้วของเราออกเหนือเขา และให้ความโกรธของเรามีต่อเขาในท่ามกลางแผ่นดินอียิปต์จนมอดลง

⁹But I worked for my name’s sake, that it should not be profaned in the sight of the nations, among which they were, in whose sight I made myself known to them, in bringing them forth out of the land of Egypt.

⁹แต่เราก็กระทำโดยเห็นแก่นามของเราเอง เพื่อไม่ให้ชื่อนั้นมลทินต่อหน้าประชาชาติซึ่งเขาอาศัยอยู่ เราจึงได้สำแดงตัวของเราท่ามกลางสายตาของเขาให้เขารู้จัก ในการที่เรานำคนอิสราเอลออกมาจากแผ่นดินอียิปต์

¹⁰So I caused them to go forth out of the land of Egypt, and brought them into the wilderness.

¹⁰ดังนั้น เราจึงนำเขาออกจากแผ่นดินอียิปต์ และนำเขาเข้ามาในถิ่นทุรกันดาร

¹¹I gave them my statutes, and showed them my ordinances, which if a man does, he shall live in them.

¹¹เราให้กฎเกณฑ์ของเราแก่เขา และสำแดงคำตัดสินของเราให้เขารู้ ซึ่งถ้ามนุษย์ได้รักษาไว้ก็จะดำรงชีวิตอยู่ได้

¹²Moreover also I gave them my Sabbaths, to be a sign between me and them, that they might know that I am Yahweh who sanctifies them.

¹²ยิ่งกว่านั้นอีก เราได้ให้สะบาโตของเราแก่เขา เป็นหมายสำคัญระหว่างเราและเขาทั้งหลาย เพื่อเขาจะทราบว่าเราคือพระเยโฮวาห์ เป็นผู้กระทำให้เขาบริสุทธิ์

¹³But the house of Israel rebelled against me in the wilderness: they didn’t walk in my statutes, and they rejected my ordinances, which if a man keep, he shall live in them; and my Sabbaths they greatly profaned. Then I said I would pour out my wrath on them in the wilderness, to consume them.

¹³แต่วงศ์วานอิสราเอลได้กบฏต่อเราในถิ่นทุรกันดาร เขามิได้ดำเนินตามกฎเกณฑ์ของเรา แต่ได้ดูหมิ่นคำตัดสินของเรา ซึ่งถ้ามนุษย์คนหนึ่งคนใดปฏิบัติตาม เขาก็จะดำรงชีวิตอยู่ได้ด้วยกฎเกณฑ์และคำตัดสินเหล่านั้น และเขาได้กระทำให้วันสะบาโตของเรามัวหมองอย่างยิ่ง เราจึงกล่าวว่า เราจะเทความเดือดดาลของเราออกเหนือเขาในถิ่นทุรกันดารเพื่อผลาญเขาเสีย

¹⁴But I worked for my name’s sake, that it should not be profaned in the sight of the nations, in whose sight I brought them out.

¹⁴แต่เราก็กระทำโดยเห็นแก่นามของเราเอง เพื่อไม่ให้ชื่อนั้นมลทินต่อหน้าประชาชาติทั้งหลาย ซึ่งเราได้นำคนอิสราเอลออกมาท่ามกลางสายตาของเขา

¹⁵Moreover also I swore to them in the wilderness, that I would not bring them into the land which I had given them, flowing with milk and honey, which is the glory of all lands;

¹⁵ยิ่งกว่านั้นอีก เราได้ปฏิญาณต่อเขาในถิ่นทุรกันดารว่า เราจะไม่นำเขาเข้ามาในแผ่นดินซึ่งเราได้ให้แก่เขา เป็นแผ่นดินที่มีน้ำนมและน้ำผึ้งไหลบริบูรณ์ เป็นแผ่นดินที่มีสง่าราศีที่สุดในแผ่นดินทั้งหลาย

¹⁶because they rejected my ordinances, and didn’t walk in my statutes, and profaned my Sabbaths: for their heart went after their idols.

¹⁶เพราะเขาดูหมิ่นคำตัดสินของเรา และไม่ดำเนินตามกฎเกณฑ์ของเรา และได้กระทำให้วันสะบาโตของเรามัวหมอง เพราะว่าจิตใจของเขาไปติดตามรูปเคารพของเขา

¹⁷Nevertheless my eye spared them, and I didn’t destroy them, neither did I make a full end of them in the wilderness.

¹⁷ถึงกระนั้นก็ดี นัยน์ตาของเราก็ยังปรานีเขา และเรามิได้ทำลายเขา หรือกระทำให้เขาจบสิ้นลงในถิ่นทุรกันดารนั้น

¹⁸I said to their children in the wilderness, Don’t walk in the statutes of your fathers, neither observe their ordinances, nor defile yourselves with their idols.

¹⁸แต่เราพูดกับลูกหลานของเขาในถิ่นทุรกันดารนั้นว่า อย่าดำเนินตามกฎเกณฑ์ของบรรพบุรุษของเจ้า หรือรักษาคำตัดสินของเขา หรือกระทำตัวเจ้าให้มลทินไปด้วยรูปเคารพของเขา

¹⁹I am Yahweh your God: walk in my statutes, and keep my ordinances, and do them;

¹⁹เราคือพระเยโฮวาห์เป็นพระเจ้าของเจ้า จงดำเนินตามกฎหเกณฑ์ของเรา และจงรักษาคำตัดสินของเรา และประพฤติตาม

²⁰and make my Sabbaths holy; and they shall be a sign between me and you, that you may know that I am Yahweh your God.

²⁰และนับถือบรรดาสะบาโตของเรา เพื่อจะเป็นหมายสำคัญระหว่างเรากับเจ้า เพื่อเจ้าจะทราบว่าเราคือพระเยโฮวาห์เป็นพระเจ้าของเจ้า

²¹But the children rebelled against me; they didn’t walk in my statutes, neither kept my ordinances to do them, which if a man do, he shall live in them; they profaned my Sabbaths. Then I said I would pour out my wrath on them, to accomplish my anger against them in the wilderness.

²¹แต่ลูกหลานเหล่านั้นก็กบฏต่อเรา เขาทั้งหลายมิได้ดำเนินตามกฏเกณฑ์ของเรา และไม่รักษาคำตัดสินของเราเพื่อจะประพฤติตาม ซึ่งถ้ามนุษย์คนหนึ่งคนใดปฏิบัติตามก็จะดำรงชีวิตอยู่ได้ด้วยกฎเกณฑ์และคำตัดสินเหล่านั้น เขาได้กระทำให้บรรดาวันสะบาโตของเรามัวหมอง เราจึงกล่าวว่า เราจะเทความเดือดดาลของเราออกเหนือเขา และให้ความโกรธของเราที่มีต่อเขาที่ในถิ่นทุรกันดารบรรลุลงเสียที

²²Nevertheless I withdrew my hand, and worked for my name’s sake, that it should not be profaned in the sight of the nations, in whose sight I brought them forth.

²²แต่เราได้หดมือของเราไว้ และกระทำโดยเห็นแก่นามของเราเอง เพื่อไม่ให้ชื่อนั้นมลทินท่ามกลางสายตาของประชาชาติทั้งหลาย ซึ่งเราได้นำชนอิสราเอลออกมาท่ามกลางสายตาของเขา

²³Moreover I swore to them in the wilderness, that I would scatter them among the nations, and disperse them through the countries;

²³ยิ่งกว่านั้นอีก เราได้ปฏิญาณต่อเขาทั้งหลายในถิ่นทุรกันดารว่า เราจะให้กระจัดกระจายไปในท่ามกลางประชาชาติ และกระจายเขาไปอยู่ตามประเทศต่างๆ

²⁴because they had not executed my ordinances, but had rejected my statutes, and had profaned my Sabbaths, and their eyes were after their fathers’ idols.

²⁴เพราะว่าเขามิได้กระทำตามคำตัดสินของเรา แต่ได้ดูหมิ่นกฎเกณฑ์ของเรา และกระทำให้วันสะบาโตทั้งหลายของเรามัวหมอง และนัยน์ตาของเขาก็ติดตามรูปเคารพแห่งบรรพบุรุษของเขา

²⁵Moreover also I gave them statutes that were not good, and ordinances in which they should not live;

²⁵ยิ่งกว่านั้นอีก เราได้ให้กฎเกณฑ์ที่ไม่ดีและให้คำตัดสินซึ่งตามนั้นเขาจะดำรงชีวิตไม่ได้

²⁶and I polluted them in their own gifts, in that they caused to pass through the fire all that opens the womb, that I might make them desolate, to the end that they might know that I am Yahweh.

²⁶และเราก็ได้ให้เขามลทินไปด้วยของถวายของเขาเอง โดยให้เขาถวายบุตรหัวปีให้ลุยไฟ เพื่อเราจะกระทำให้เขารกร้างไป เพื่อให้เขาทราบว่าเราคือพระเยโฮวาห์

²⁷Therefore, son of man, speak to the house of Israel, and tell them, Thus says the Lord Yahweh: In this moreover have your fathers blasphemed me, in that they have committed a trespass against me.

²⁷เพราะฉะนั้น บุตรแห่งมนุษย์เอ๋ย จงพูดกับวงศ์วานอิสราเอลและกล่าวแก่เขาว่า องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าพระเจ้าตรัสดังนี้ว่า ในเรื่องนี้บรรพบุรุษของเจ้าก็ได้หมิ่นประมาทเราอีก โดยกระทำการละเมิดต่อเรา

²⁸For when I had brought them into the land, which I swore to give to them, then they saw every high hill, and every thick tree, and they offered there their sacrifices, and there they presented the provocation of their offering; there also they made their pleasant aroma, and they poured out there their drink offerings.

²⁸เพราะว่าเมื่อเราได้นำเขาเข้ามาในแผ่นดินที่เราปฏิญาณว่าจะให้เขานั้นแล้ว เมื่อเขาเห็นเนินเขาสูง ณ ที่ใด หรือเห็นต้นไม้ใบดกที่ไหน เขาก็ถวายเครื่องบูชาอันเป็นที่ให้เคืองใจเรา ณ ที่นั่น เขาถวายกลิ่นที่พึงใจ และเขาเทเครื่องดื่มบูชาออกที่นั่น

²⁹Then I said to them, What does the high place where you go mean? So its name is called Bamah to this day.

²⁹เราได้ถามเขาว่า ปูชนียสถานสูงซึ่งเจ้าเข้าไปนั้นคืออะไร และเขาจึงเรียกชื่อที่นั่นว่า บามาห์ สืบเนื่องมาจนทุกวันนี้

³⁰Therefore tell the house of Israel, Thus says the Lord Yahweh: Do you pollute yourselves in the way of your fathers? and do you play the prostitute after their abominations?

³⁰เพราะฉะนั้นจงกล่าวแก่วงศ์วานอิสราเอลว่า องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าพระเจ้าตรัสดังนี้ว่า เจ้ากระทำตัวให้มลทินไปตามอย่างบรรพบุรุษของเจ้า และเล่นชู้กับสิ่งที่น่าสะอิดสะเอียนของเขาหรือ

³¹and when you offer your gifts, when you make your sons to pass through the fire, do you pollute yourselves with all your idols to this day? and shall I be inquired of by you, house of Israel? As I live, says the Lord Yahweh, I will not be inquired of by you;

³¹เมื่อเจ้าถวายของบูชาและถวายบุตรชายให้ลุยไฟ เจ้าได้กระทำตัวให้มลทินด้วยบรรดารูปเคารพของเจ้าจนทุกวันนี้ โอ วงศ์วานอิสราเอเอ๋ย เราจะให้เจ้ามาถามเราหรือ องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าพระเจ้าตรัสว่า เรามีชีวิตอยู่แน่ฉันใด เราจะไม่ให้เจ้ามาถามเราฉันนั้น

³²and that which comes into your mind shall not be at all, in that you say, We will be as the nations, as the families of the countries, to serve wood and stone.

³²อะไรอยู่ในใจของเจ้าจะไม่เกิดขึ้นได้เลย คือความคิดที่ว่า `ให้เราเป็นเหมือนประชาชาติทั้งหลาย ให้เป็นเหมือนครอบครัวต่างๆในประเทศทั่วไป คือให้เราปรนนิบัติไม้และศิลา'

³³As I live, says the Lord Yahweh, surely with a mighty hand, and with an outstretched arm, and with wrath poured out, will I be king over you:

³³องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าพระเจ้าตรัสว่า เรามีชีวิตอยู่แน่ฉันใด เราจะครอบครองเหนือเจ้าแน่นอนทีเดียว ด้วยมือที่มีฤทธิ์ และด้วยแขนที่เหยียดออก และด้วยความพิโรธที่เทลงมา

³⁴and I will bring you out from the peoples, and will gather you out of the countries in which you are scattered, with a mighty hand, and with an outstretched arm, and with wrath poured out;

³⁴เราจะนำเจ้าออกมาจากชนชาติทั้งหลาย และจะรวบรวมเจ้าออกมาจากประเทศทั้งปวงซึ่งเจ้าต้องกระจัดกระจายกันไปอยู่นั้น ด้วยมือที่มีฤทธิ์ และด้วยแขนที่เหยียดออก และด้วยความพิโรธที่เทลงมา

³⁵and I will bring you into the wilderness of the peoples, and there will I enter into judgment with you face to face.

³⁵และเราจะนำเจ้าเข้าไปในถิ่นทุรกันดารแห่งชนชาติทั้งหลาย และที่นั่นเราจะเข้าสู่การพิพากษากับเจ้าหน้าต่อหน้า

³⁶Like as I entered into judgment with your fathers in the wilderness of the land of Egypt, so will I enter into judgment with you, says the Lord Yahweh.

³⁶เราเข้าสู่การพิพากษากับบรรพบุรุษของเจ้าในถิ่นทุรกันดารแห่งแผ่นดินอียิปต์อย่างไร องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าพระเจ้าตรัสว่า เราจะเข้าสู่การพิพากษากับเจ้าอย่างนั้น

³⁷I will cause you to pass under the rod, and I will bring you into the bond of the covenant;

³⁷เราจะให้เจ้าลอดไปใต้คทา และเราจะให้เจ้าเข้าพันธสัญญา

³⁸and I will purge out from among you the rebels, and those who disobey against me; I will bring them forth out of the land where they live, but they shall not enter into the land of Israel: and you shall know that I am Yahweh.

³⁸เราจะชำระพวกกบฏเสียจากท่ามกลางเจ้า ทั้งผู้ละเมิดต่อเรา เราจะนำเขาออกจากแผ่นดินที่เขาไปอาศัยอยู่นั้น แต่เขาจะไม่ได้เข้าไปในแผ่นดินอิสราเอล แล้วเจ้าจะทราบว่าเราคือพระเยโฮวาห์

³⁹As for you, house of Israel, thus says the Lord Yahweh: Go, serve everyone his idols, and hereafter also, if you will not listen to me; but my holy name you shall no more profane with your gifts, and with your idols.

³⁹เดี๋ยวนี้ องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าพระเจ้าตรัสดังนี้ว่า โอ วงศ์วานอิสราเอลเอ๋ย ฝ่ายเจ้าทั้งหลายทุกคนจงไปปรนนิบัติรูปเคารพของเจ้าเดี๋ยวนี้ และต่อไปถ้าเจ้าไม่ฟังเรา แต่ชื่ออันบริสุทธิ์ของเรานั้นเจ้าอย่ากระทำให้มลทินอีกด้วยของถวายและด้วยรูปเคารพของเจ้า

⁴⁰For in my holy mountain, in the mountain of the height of Israel, says the Lord Yahweh, there shall all the house of Israel, all of them, serve me in the land: there will I accept them, and there will I require your offerings, and the first fruits of your offerings, with all your holy things.

⁴⁰องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าพระเจ้าตรัสว่า ด้วยว่าบนภูเขาบริสุทธิ์ของเรา คือภูเขาสูงของอิสราเอล บรรดาวงศ์วานทั้งหมดของอิสราเอลจะปรนนิบัติเราในแผ่นดินนั้น เราจะโปรดเขา ณ ที่นั่น ณ ที่นั่นเราจะเรียกของถวายของเจ้า และผลรุ่นแรกแห่งเครื่องบูชาของเจ้า กับเครื่องถวายบูชาอันบริสุทธิ์ทั้งสิ้นของเจ้า

⁴¹As a pleasant aroma will I accept you, when I bring you out from the peoples, and gather you out of the countries in which you have been scattered; and I will be sanctified in you in the sight of the nations.

⁴¹เมื่อเรานำเจ้าออกมาจากชาติทั้งหลาย และรวบรวมเจ้าออกมาจากประเทศที่เจ้ากระจัดกระจายไปอยู่นั้น เราจะโปรดเจ้าดั่งเป็นกลิ่นที่พอใจของเรา และเราจะสำแดงความบริสุทธิ์ของเราท่ามกลางเจ้าต่อหน้าต่อตาประชาชาติทั้งหลาย

⁴²You shall know that I am Yahweh, when I shall bring you into the land of Israel, into the country which I swore to give to your fathers.

⁴²และเจ้าจะทราบว่าเราคือพระเยโฮวาห์ ในเมื่อเรานำเจ้าเข้าในแผ่นดินอิสราเอล อันเป็นประเทศซึ่งเราปฏิญาณไว้ว่าจะให้แก่บรรพบุรุษของเจ้า

⁴³There you shall remember your ways, and all your doings, in which you have polluted yourselves; and you shall loathe yourselves in your own sight for all your evils that you have committed.

⁴³ณ ที่นั่นเจ้าจะระลึกถึงวิถีทางและการกระทำทั้งสิ้นของเจ้า ซึ่งได้กระทำให้เจ้าเป็นมลทิน และในสายตาของเจ้าเองเจ้าจะเกลียดชังตัวของเจ้า เพราะความชั่วทั้งหลายซึ่งเจ้าได้กระทำนั้น

⁴⁴You shall know that I am Yahweh, when I have dealt with you for my name’s sake, not according to your evil ways, nor according to your corrupt doings, you house of Israel, says the Lord Yahweh.

⁴⁴โอ วงศ์วานอิสราเอลเอ๋ย เมื่อเราได้กระทำกับเจ้าด้วยเห็นแก่นามของเรา มิใช่ตามทางอันชั่วของเจ้า หรือตามการกระทำที่เสื่อมทรามของเจ้า แล้วเจ้าจึงจะทราบว่าเราคือพระเยโฮวาห์ องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าพระเจ้าตรัสดังนี้แหละ"

⁴⁵The word of Yahweh came to me, saying,

⁴⁵และพระวจนะของพระเยโฮวาห์มายังข้าพเจ้าว่า

⁴⁶Son of man, set your face toward the south, and drop your word toward the south, and prophesy against the forest of the field in the South;

⁴⁶"บุตรแห่งมนุษย์เอ๋ย จงมุ่งหน้าไปทางทิศใต้และเทศนากล่าวโทษพวกถิ่นใต้ จงพยากรณ์ต่อแดนป่าไม้ที่ในถิ่นใต้

⁴⁷and tell the forest of the South, Hear the word of Yahweh: Thus says the Lord Yahweh, Behold, I will kindle a fire in you, and it shall devour every green tree in you, and every dry tree: the flaming flame shall not be quenched, and all faces from the south to the north shall be burnt thereby.

⁴⁷จงกล่าวแก่ป่าไม้แห่งถิ่นใต้ว่า จงฟังพระวจนะของพระเยโฮวาห์ องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าพระเจ้าตรัสดังนี้ว่า ดูเถิด เราจะก่อไฟไว้ในเจ้า มันจะเผาผลาญต้นไม้เขียวและต้นไม้แห้งทุกต้นที่อยู่ในเจ้าเสีย จะดับเปลวเพลิงอันลุกโพลงนั้นไม่ได้ และดวงหน้าทุกหน้าตั้งแต่ทิศใต้จนทิศเหนือจะถูกไฟลวก

⁴⁸All flesh shall see that I, Yahweh, have kindled it; it shall not be quenched.

⁴⁸เนื้อหนังทั้งสิ้นจะเห็นว่าเราคือพระเยโฮวาห์ผู้ได้ก่อไฟนั้น ผู้ใดจะดับก็ไม่ได้"

⁴⁹Then I said, Ah Lord Yahweh! they say of me, Isn’t he a speaker of parables?
