1Then he cried in my ears with a loud voice, saying, Cause those who are in charge of the city to draw near, every man with his destroying weapon in his hand.
1แล้วพระองค์ทรงเปล่งพระสุรเสียงดังเข้าหูข้าพเจ้าว่า "เจ้าทั้งหลายผู้เป็นพนักงานทำโทษประจำเมือง จงเข้ามาใกล้ ให้ต่างคนถืออาวุธสำหรับทำลายมาด้วย"
2Behold, six men came from the way of the upper gate, which lies toward the north, every man with his slaughter weapon in his hand; and one man in their midst clothed in linen, with a writer’s inkhorn by his side. They went in, and stood beside the bronze altar.
2และ ดูเถิด มีชายหกคนเข้ามาจากทางประตูบน ซึ่งหันหน้าไปทางเหนือ ทุกคนถืออาวุธสำหรับฆ่ามา มีชายคนหนึ่งนุ่งห่มผ้าป่าน หนีบหีบเครื่องเขียนมากับคนเหล่านั้นด้วย และเขาทั้งหลายเข้าไปยืนอยู่ที่ข้างแท่นทองสัมฤทธิ์
3The glory of the God of Israel was gone up from the cherub, whereupon it was, to the threshold of the house: and he called to the man clothed in linen, who had the writer’s inkhorn by his side.
3สง่าราศีของพระเจ้าของอิสราเอลได้เหาะขึ้นไปจากเครูบ แล้วซึ่งเป็นที่เคยสถิตไปยังธรณีประตูพระนิเวศ และพระองค์ตรัสเรียกชายผู้ที่นุ่งห่มผ้าป่าน ผู้ที่หนีบหีบเครื่องเขียน
4Yahweh said to him, Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and set a mark on the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry over all the abominations that are done in its midst.
4และพระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสกับเขาว่า "จงผ่านไปท่ามกลางนครนั้นให้ตลอด คือตลอดท่ามกลางกรุงเยรูซาเล็ม และทำเครื่องหมายไว้บนหน้าผากของประชาชนที่ถอนหายใจ และร่ำไห้เพราะสิ่งที่น่าสะอิดสะเอียนทั้งสิ้นที่กระทำกันท่ามกลางนครนั้น"
5To the others he said in my hearing, Go through the city after him, and strike: don’t let your eye spare, neither have pity;
5และพระองค์ตรัสกับคนอื่นๆซึ่งข้าพเจ้าได้ยินว่า "จงผ่านไปตลอดนครตามชายคนนั้นไปและฆ่าฟันเสีย นัยน์ตาของเจ้าอย่าได้ปรานี และเจ้าอย่าสงสารเลย
6kill utterly the old man, the young man and the virgin, and little children and women; but don’t come near any man on whom is the mark: and begin at my sanctuary. Then they began at the old men that were before the house.
6จงฆ่าให้ตายทั้งคนแก่ คนหนุ่มๆ สาวๆ ทั้งเด็กๆ และผู้หญิง แต่อย่าเข้าใกล้ผู้ที่มีเครื่องหมาย และจงเริ่มต้นที่สถานบริสุทธิ์ของเรา" ดังนั้นเขาจึงตั้งต้นกับพวกคนแก่ผู้ซึ่งอยู่หน้าพระนิเวศนั้น
7He said to them, Defile the house, and fill the courts with the slain. Go forth! They went forth, and struck in the city.
7แล้วพระองค์ตรัสกับพวกเขาว่า "จงกระทำให้พระนิเวศเป็นมลทิน จงทิ้งผู้ที่ถูกฆ่าให้เต็มลาน จงไปเถิด" เขาทั้งหลายจึงออกไปและฆ่าฟันที่ในนคร
8It happened, while they were smiting, and I was left, that I fell on my face, and cried, and said, Ah Lord Yahweh! will you destroy all the residue of Israel in your pouring out of your wrath on Jerusalem?
8ต่อมาขณะที่เขากำลังฆ่าฟันอยู่นั้นเหลือข้าพเจ้าแต่ลำพัง ข้าพเจ้าก็ซบหน้าลงถึงดินร้องว่า "อนิจจา องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าพระเจ้า พระองค์จะทรงทำลายคนอิสราเอลที่เหลืออยู่นั้นทั้งสิ้นในการที่พระองค์ทรงระบายความกริ้วของพระองค์เหนือเยรูซาเล็มหรือ"
9Then he said to me, The iniquity of the house of Israel and Judah is exceedingly great, and the land is full of blood, and the city full of perversion: for they say, Yahweh has forsaken the land, and Yahweh doesn’t see.
9แล้วพระองค์ตรัสกับข้าพเจ้าว่า "ความชั่วช้าของวงศ์วานอิสราเอลและยูดาห์ใหญ่ยิ่งนัก แผ่นดินก็เต็มไปด้วยโลหิต และความอยุติธรรมก็เต็มนคร เพราะเขากล่าวว่า `พระเยโฮวาห์ทรงทอดทิ้งแผ่นดินนี้แล้ว และพระเยโฮวาห์ไม่ทอดพระเนตรอีก'
10As for me also, my eye shall not spare, neither will I have pity, but I will bring their way on their head.
10สำหรับเรา นัยน์ตาของเราจะไม่ปรานี และเราจะไม่สงสาร แต่เราจะตอบสนองตามการประพฤติของเขาเหนือศีรษะของเขาทั้งหลาย"
11Behold, the man clothed in linen, who had the inkhorn by his side, reported the matter, saying, I have done as you have commanded me.
11และดูเถิด ชายคนที่นุ่งห่มผ้าป่านหนีบหีบเครื่องเขียนนั้น ได้นำถ้อยคำกลับมากล่าวว่า "ข้าพระองค์ได้กระทำตามที่พระองค์ทรงบัญชาข้าพระองค์ไว้นั้นแล้ว"
