¹Foolish Galatians, who has bewitched you not to obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ was openly set forth among you as crucified?

¹โอ ชาวกาลาเทียคนเขลา ใครสะกดดวงจิตของท่านเพื่อท่านจะไม่เชื่อฟังความจริง ทั้งๆที่ภาพการถูกตรึงของพระเยซูคริสต์ปรากฏอยู่ต่อหน้าต่อตาท่านแล้ว

²I just want to learn this from you. Did you receive the Spirit by the works of the law, or by hearing of faith?

²ข้าพเจ้าใคร่รู้ข้อเดียวจากท่านว่า ท่านได้รับพระวิญญาณโดยการประพฤติตามพระราชบัญญัติหรือ หรือได้รับโดยการฟังด้วยความเชื่อ

³Are you so foolish? Having begun in the Spirit, are you now completed in the flesh?

³ท่านเขลาถึงเพียงนั้นทีเดียวหรือ เมื่อท่านเริ่มต้นด้วยพระวิญญาณแล้ว บัดนี้ท่านจะให้สำเร็จด้วยเนื้อหนังหรือ

⁴Did you suffer so many things in vain, if it is indeed in vain?

⁴ท่านได้ทนทุกข์มากมายโดยไร้ประโยชน์หรือ ถ้าเป็นการไร้ประโยชน์จริงๆแล้ว

⁵He therefore who supplies the Spirit to you, and works miracles among you, does he do it by the works of the law, or by hearing of faith?

⁵เหตุฉะนั้นพระองค์ผู้ทรงประทานพระวิญญาณแก่ท่าน และทรงกระทำการอัศจรรย์ท่ามกลางพวกท่าน ทรงกระทำการเช่นนั้นโดยการประพฤติตามพระราชบัญญัติหรือ หรือโดยการฟังด้วยความเชื่อ

⁶Even as Abraham “believed God, and it was counted to him for righteousness.”

⁶ดังที่อับราฮัม `ได้เชื่อพระเจ้า' และ `และพระองค์ทรงนับว่าเป็นความชอบธรรมแก่ท่าน'

⁷Know therefore that those who are of faith, the same are children of Abraham.

⁷เหตุฉะนั้นท่านจงรู้เถิดว่า คนที่เชื่อนั่นแหละก็เป็นบุตรของอับราฮัม

⁸The Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the Good News beforehand to Abraham, saying, “In you all the nations will be blessed.” Genesis 12:3; 18:18; 22:18

⁸และพระคัมภีร์นั้นรู้ล่วงหน้าว่า พระเจ้าจะทรงให้คนต่างชาติเป็นคนชอบธรรมโดยความเชื่อ จึงได้ประกาศข่าวประเสริฐแก่อับราฮัมล่วงหน้าว่า `ชนชาติทั้งหลายจะได้รับพระพรเพราะเจ้า'

⁹So then, those who are of faith are blessed with the faithful Abraham.

⁹เหตุฉะนั้นคนที่เชื่อจึงได้รับพระพรร่วมกับอับราฮัมผู้ซึ่งเชื่อ

¹⁰For as many as are of the works of the law are under a curse. For it is written, “Cursed is everyone who doesn’t continue in all things that are written in the book of the law, to do them.” Deuteronomy 27:26

¹⁰เพราะว่าคนทั้งหลายซึ่งพึ่งการประพฤติตามพระราชบัญญัติก็ถูกสาปแช่ง เพราะมีคำเขียนไว้ว่า `ทุกคนที่มิได้ประพฤติตามทุกข้อความที่เขียนไว้ในหนังสือพระราชบัญญัติก็ถูกสาปแช่ง'

¹¹Now that no man is justified by the law before God is evident, for, “The righteous will live by faith.” Habakkuk 2:4

¹¹แต่เป็นที่ประจักษ์ชัดอยู่แล้วว่า ไม่มีมนุษย์คนใดเป็นผู้ชอบธรรมในสายพระเนตรของพระเจ้าด้วยพระราชบัญญัติได้เลย เพราะว่า `คนชอบธรรมจะมีชีวิตดำรงอยู่โดยความเชื่อ'

¹²The law is not of faith, but, “The man who does them will live by them.” Leviticus 18:5

¹²แต่พระราชบัญญัติไม่ได้อาศัยความเชื่อ เพราะ `ผู้ที่ประพฤติตามพระราชบัญญัติ ก็จะได้ชีวิตดำรงอยู่โดยพระราชบัญญัตินั้น'

¹³Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us. For it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree,” Deuteronomy 21:23

¹³พระคริสต์ทรงไถ่เราให้พ้นความสาปแช่งแห่งพระราชบัญญัติ โดยการที่พระองค์ทรงยอมถูกสาปแช่งเพื่อเรา เพราะมีคำเขียนไว้ว่า `ทุกคนที่ต้องถูกแขวนไว้บนต้นไม้ก็ต้องถูกสาปแช่ง'

¹⁴that the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Christ Jesus; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

¹⁴เพื่อพระพรของอับราฮัมจะได้มาถึงคนต่างชาติทั้งหลายเพราะพระเยซูคริสต์ เพื่อเราจะได้รับพระสัญญาแห่งพระวิญญาณโดยความเชื่อ

¹⁵Brothers, speaking of human terms, though it is only a man’s covenant, yet when it has been confirmed, no one makes it void, or adds to it.

¹⁵พี่น้องทั้งหลาย ข้าพเจ้าขอพูดตามอย่างมนุษย์ ถึงแม้เป็นคำสัญญาของมนุษย์ เมื่อได้รับรองกันแล้วไม่มีผู้ใดจะล้มเลิกหรือเพิ่มเติมขึ้นอีกได้

¹⁶Now the promises were spoken to Abraham and to his seed. He doesn’t say, “To seeds,” as of many, but as of one, “To your seed,” Genesis 12:7; 13:15; 24:7 which is Christ.

¹⁶แล้วบรรดาพระสัญญาที่ได้ประทานไว้แก่อับราฮัมและเชื้อสายของท่านนั้น พระองค์มิได้ตรัสว่า `และแก่เชื้อสายทั้งหลาย' เหมือนอย่างกับว่าแก่คนมากคน แต่เหมือนกับว่าแก่คนผู้เดียว `และแก่เชื้อสายของท่าน' ซึ่งเป็นพระคริสต์

¹⁷Now I say this. A covenant confirmed beforehand by God in Christ, the law, which came four hundred thirty years after, does not annul, so as to make the promise of no effect.

¹⁷แต่ข้าพเจ้าว่าอย่างนี้ว่า พระราชบัญญัติซึ่งมาภายหลังถึงสี่ร้อยสามสิบปี จะทำลายพันธสัญญาซึ่งพระเจ้าได้ทรงตั้งไว้ในพระคริสต์เมื่อก่อนนั้น ให้พระสัญญานั้นขาดจากประโยชน์ไม่ได้

¹⁸For if the inheritance is of the law, it is no more of promise; but God has granted it to Abraham by promise.

¹⁸เพราะว่าถ้าได้รับมรดกโดยพระราชบัญญัติ ก็ไม่ใช่ได้โดยพระสัญญาอีกต่อไป แต่พระเจ้าทรงโปรดประทานมรดกนั้นให้แก่อับราฮัมโดยพระสัญญา

¹⁹What then is the law? It was added because of transgressions, until the seed should come to whom the promise has been made. It was ordained through angels by the hand of a mediator.

¹⁹ถ้าเช่นนั้นมีพระราชบัญญัติไว้ทำไม ที่เพิ่มพระราชบัญญัติไว้ก็เพราะเหตุจากการละเมิด จนกว่าเชื้อสายที่ได้รับพระสัญญานั้นจะมาถึง และพวกทูตสวรรค์ได้ตั้งพระราชบัญญัตินั้นไว้โดยมือของคนกลาง

²⁰Now a mediator is not between one, but God is one.

²⁰เพราะฉะนั้นคนที่เป็นคนกลางก็ไม่ได้เป็นคนกลางของฝ่ายเดียว แต่พระเจ้านั้นทรงเป็นเอกพระเจ้า

²¹Is the law then against the promises of God? Certainly not! For if there had been a law given which could make alive, most certainly righteousness would have been of the law.

²¹ถ้าเช่นนั้นพระราชบัญญัติขัดแย้งกับพระสัญญาของพระเจ้าหรือ พระเจ้าไม่ยอมให้เป็นเช่นนั้นเลย เพราะว่าถ้าทรงตั้งพระราชบัญญัติอันสามารถทำให้คนมีชีวิตอยู่ได้ ความชอบธรรมก็จะมีได้โดยพระราชบัญญัตินั้นจริง

²²But the Scriptures imprisoned all things under sin, that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe.

²²แต่พระคัมภีร์ได้บ่งว่า ทุกคนอยู่ในความบาป เพื่อจะประทานตามพระสัญญาแก่คนทั้งปวงที่เชื่อ โดยอาศัยความเชื่อในพระเยซูคริสต์เป็นหลัก

²³But before faith came, we were kept in custody under the law, confined for the faith which should afterwards be revealed.

²³แต่ก่อนที่ความเชื่อมานั้น เราถูกพระราชบัญญัติกักตัวไว้ ถูกกั้นเขตไว้จนความเชื่อจะปรากฏภายหลัง

²⁴So that the law has become our tutor to bring us to Christ, that we might be justified by faith.

²⁴เพราะฉะนั้น พระราชบัญญัติจึงเป็นครูของเราซึ่งนำเรามาถึงพระคริสต์ เพื่อเราจะได้เป็นคนชอบธรรมโดยความเชื่อ

²⁵But now that faith has come, we are no longer under a tutor.

²⁵แต่หลังจากความเชื่อนั้นได้มาแล้ว เราจึงมิได้อยู่ใต้บังคับครูนั้นอีกต่อไปแล้ว

²⁶For you are all children of God, through faith in Christ Jesus.

²⁶เพราะว่าท่านทั้งหลายเป็นบุตรของพระเจ้าโดยความเชื่อในพระเยซูคริสต์

²⁷For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ.

²⁷เพราะเหตุว่า ทุกคนในพวกท่านที่รับบัพติศมาเข้าร่วมในพระคริสต์แล้ว ก็ได้สวมชีวิตพระคริสต์

²⁸There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free man, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.

²⁸จะไม่เป็นยิวหรือกรีก จะไม่เป็นทาสหรือไทย จะไม่เป็นชายหรือหญิง เพราะว่าท่านทั้งหลายเป็นอันหนึ่งอันเดียวกันในพระเยซูคริสต์

²⁹If you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seed and heirs according to promise.

²⁹และถ้าท่านเป็นของพระคริสต์แล้ว ท่านก็เป็นเชื้อสายของอับราฮัม คือเป็นผู้รับมรดกตามพระสัญญา
