1At that time, Merodach Baladan the son of Baladan, king of Babylon, sent letters and a present to Hezekiah; for he heard that he had been sick, and had recovered.
1คราวนั้น เมโรดัคบาลาดัน โอรสของบาลาดัน กษัตริย์แห่งบาบิโลน ทรงส่งราชสารและเครื่องบรรณาการมายังเฮเซคียาห์ เพราะพระองค์ทรงได้ยินว่าเฮเซคียาห์ทรงประชวรและทรงหายประชวรแล้ว
2Hezekiah was pleased with them, and showed them the house of his precious things, the silver, and the gold, the spices, and the precious oil, and all the house of his armor, and all that was found in his treasures. There was nothing in his house, nor in all his dominion, that Hezekiah didn’t show them.
2และเฮเซคียาห์ทรงเปรมปรีดิ์เพราะเขาเหล่านั้น และทรงพาเขาชมคลังทรัพย์ของพระองค์ ชมเงิน ทองคำ และเครื่องเทศและน้ำมันประเสริฐ และคลังพระแสงทั้งสิ้นของพระองค์ ทุกอย่างซึ่งมีในท้องพระคลัง ไม่มีสิ่งใดที่ในพระราชวัง หรือในราชอาณาจักรทั้งสิ้นของพระองค์ซึ่งเฮเซคียาห์มิได้ทรงสำแดงแก่เขา
3Then Isaiah the prophet came to king Hezekiah, and asked him, “What did these men say? Where did they come from to you?” Hezekiah said, “They have come from a country far from me, even from Babylon.”
3แล้วอิสยาห์ผู้พยากรณ์ก็เข้าเฝ้ากษัตริย์เฮเซคียาห์และทูลพระองค์ว่า "คนเหล่านี้ทูลอะไรบ้าง และเขามาแต่ไหนเข้าเฝ้าพระองค์" เฮเซคียาห์ตรัสว่า "เขาได้มาหาเราจากเมืองไกล จากบาบิโลน"
4Then he asked, “What have they seen in your house?” Hezekiah answered, “They have seen all that is in my house. There is nothing among my treasures that I have not shown them.”
4ท่านทูลว่า "เขาเห็นอะไรในพระราชวังของพระองค์บ้าง" และเฮเซคียาห์ตรัสตอบว่า "เขาเห็นทุกอย่างในวังของเรา ไม่มีสิ่งใดในพระคลังของเราซึ่งเรามิได้สำแดงแก่เขา"
5Then Isaiah said to Hezekiah, “Hear the word of Yahweh of Armies:
5แล้วอิสยาห์ทูลเฮเซคียาห์ว่า "ขอทรงฟังพระวจนะของพระเยโฮวาห์จอมโยธา
6‘Behold, the days are coming when all that is in your house, and that which your fathers have stored up until this day, will be carried to Babylon. Nothing will be left,’ says Yahweh.
6ดูเถิด วันเวลากำลังย่างเข้ามา เมื่อสรรพสิ่งทั้งสิ้นในวังของเจ้า และสิ่งซึ่งบรรพบุรุษของเจ้าได้สะสมจนถึงทุกวันนี้จะต้องถูกเอาไปยังบาบิโลน จะไม่มีสิ่งใดเหลือเลย พระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสดังนี้แหละ
7‘They will take away your sons who will issue from you, whom you shall father, and they will be eunuchs in the king of Babylon’s palace.’”
7และลูกบางคนซึ่งถือกำเนิดจากเจ้า ผู้ซึ่งเกิดมาแก่เจ้าจะถูกนำเอาไป และเขาจะเป็นขันทีในวังของกษัตริย์แห่งบาบิโลน"
8Then Hezekiah said to Isaiah, “Yahweh’s word which you have spoken is good.” He said moreover, “For there will be peace and truth in my days.”
8แล้วเฮเซคียาห์ตรัสกับอิสยาห์ว่า "พระวจนะของพระเยโฮวาห์ซึ่งท่านกล่าวนั้นก็ดีอยู่" เพราะพระองค์ดำริว่า "จะมีความอยู่เย็นเป็นสุขและความจริงในวันเวลาของเรานี้"
