¹The word that came to Jeremiah concerning all the Jews who lived in the land of Egypt, who lived at Migdol, and at Tahpanhes, and at Memphis, and in the country of Pathros, saying,

¹พระวจนะที่มายังเยเรมีย์เกี่ยวด้วยบรรดายิวที่อาศัยอยู่ในแผ่นดินอียิปต์ที่มิกดล ที่ทาปานเหส ที่โนฟ และในแผ่นดินปัทโรส ว่า

²Thus says Yahweh of Armies, the God of Israel: You have seen all the evil that I have brought on Jerusalem, and on all the cities of Judah; and behold, this day they are a desolation, and no man dwells therein,

²"พระเยโฮวาห์จอมโยธา พระเจ้าแห่งอิสราเอล ตรัสดังนี้ว่า เจ้าทั้งหลายได้เห็นบรรดาเหตุร้ายที่เรานำมาเหนือกรุงเยรูซาเล็ม และเหนือหัวเมืองยูดาห์ทั้งสิ้น ดูเถิด ทุกวันนี้เมืองเหล่านั้นก็เป็นที่รกร้าง ไม่มีผู้ใดอาศัยอยู่ในนั้น

³because of their wickedness which they have committed to provoke me to anger, in that they went to burn incense, to serve other gods, that they didn’t know, neither they, nor you, nor your fathers.

³เพราะความชั่วซึ่งเขาทั้งหลายได้กระทำได้ยั่วเย้าเราให้มีความโกรธ ด้วยการที่เขาทั้งหลายไปเผาเครื่องหอม และปรนนิบัติพระอื่นซึ่งเขาไม่รู้จัก ไม่ว่าเขาเอง หรือเจ้าทั้งหลาย หรือบรรพบุรุษของเจ้า

⁴However I sent to you all my servants the prophets, rising up early and sending them, saying, Oh, don’t do this abominable thing that I hate.

⁴อย่างไรก็ดีเราได้ใช้บรรดาผู้รับใช้ของเราคือผู้พยากรณ์ไปหาเจ้าโดยได้ลุกขึ้นแต่เนิ่นๆ และใช้เขาไปกล่าวว่า `โธ่เอ๋ย อย่ากระทำสิ่งที่น่าสะอิดสะเอียนนี้ ซึ่งเราเกลียดชัง'

⁵But they didn’t listen, nor inclined their ear to turn from their wickedness, to burn no incense to other gods.

⁵แต่เขาไม่ฟังหรือเงี่ยหูฟัง เพื่อจะหันกลับจากความชั่วร้ายของเขา และไม่เผาเครื่องหอมแก่พระอื่น

⁶Therefore my wrath and my anger was poured forth, and was kindled in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem; and they are wasted and desolate, as it is this day.

⁶เพราะฉะนั้น เราจึงได้เทความเดือดดาลและความโกรธของเราออกให้พลุ่งขึ้นในหัวเมืองยูดาห์ และในถนนหนทางของกรุงเยรูซาเล็ม และเมืองเหล่านั้นก็ถูกทิ้งไว้เสียเปล่าและรกร้างไป อย่างทุกวันนี้

⁷Therefore now thus says Yahweh, the God of Armies, the God of Israel: Why do you commit great evil against your own souls, to cut off from yourselves man and woman, infant and nursing child out of the midst of Judah, to leave yourselves none remaining;

⁷เพราะฉะนั้นบัดนี้ พระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าจอมโยธา พระเจ้าแห่งอิสราเอล จึงตรัสดังนี้ว่า ทำไมเจ้าทั้งหลายจึงทำความชั่วร้ายยิ่งใหญ่นี้แก่จิตใจเจ้าเอง และตัดเอาผู้ชายผู้หญิงทั้งเด็กและเด็กที่ยังดูดนมเสียจากเจ้า เสียจากท่ามกลางยูดาห์ ไม่มีชนที่เหลืออยู่ไว้แก่เจ้าเลย

⁸in that you provoke me to anger with the works of your hands, burning incense to other gods in the land of Egypt, where you have gone to live; that you may be cut off, and that you may be a curse and a reproach among all the nations of the earth?

⁸ทำไมเจ้าทั้งหลายจึงยั่วเย้าเราให้โกรธด้วยการที่มือของเจ้ากระทำ ด้วยการเผาเครื่องหอมให้แก่พระอื่นในแผ่นดินอียิปต์ที่ที่เจ้ามาอยู่นั้น เพื่อเจ้าจะต้องถูกตัดออกและเป็นที่สาปแช่ง และเป็นที่นินทาท่ามกลางบรรดาประชาชาติแห่งแผ่นดินโลก

⁹Have you forgotten the wickedness of your fathers, and the wickedness of the kings of Judah, and the wickedness of their wives, and your own wickedness, and the wickedness of your wives which they committed in the land of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem?

⁹เจ้าได้ลืมความชั่วของบรรพบุรุษของเจ้า ความชั่วของบรรดากษัตริย์แห่งยูดาห์ บรรดาความชั่วของนางสนมและมเหสีของเขาทั้งหลาย ความชั่วของเจ้าเองและความชั่วของภรรยาของเจ้า ซึ่งเขาทั้งหลายได้กระทำในแผ่นดินยูดาห์ และในถนนหนทางของกรุงเยรูซาเล็มเสียแล้วหรือ

¹⁰They are not humbled even to this day, neither have they feared, nor walked in my law, nor in my statutes, that I set before you and before your fathers.

¹⁰แม้กระทั่งวันนี้แล้วเขาทั้งหลายก็ยังมิได้ถ่อมตัวลง หรือเกรงกลัว หรือดำเนินตามราชบัญญัติหรือตามกฎเกณฑ์ของเรา ซึ่งเราให้มีไว้หน้าเจ้าทั้งหลายและหน้าบรรพบุรุษของเจ้า

¹¹Therefore thus says Yahweh of Armies, the God of Israel: Behold, I will set my face against you for evil, even to cut off all Judah.

¹¹เพราะฉะนั้น พระเยโฮวาห์จอมโยธา พระเจ้าแห่งอิสราเอล จึงตรัสดังนี้ว่า ดูเถิด เราจะมุ่งหน้าของเราต่อสู้เจ้าให้เกิดการร้าย และจะตัดยูดาห์ออกเสียให้สิ้น

¹²I will take the remnant of Judah, that have set their faces to go into the land of Egypt to live there, and they shall all be consumed; in the land of Egypt shall they fall; they shall be consumed by the sword and by the famine; they shall die, from the least even to the greatest, by the sword and by the famine; and they shall be an object of horror, an astonishment, and a curse, and a reproach.

¹²เราจะเอาชนยูดาห์ที่เหลืออยู่ ผู้ซึ่งมุ่งหน้ามาที่แผ่นดินอียปต์เพื่อจะอาศัยอยู่นั้น และเขาทั้งหลายจะถูกผลาญเสียหมด เขาจะล้มลงในแผ่นดินอียิปต์ เขาจะถูกผลาญด้วยดาบและด้วยการกันดารอาหาร ตั้งแต่คนเล็กน้อยที่สุดจนถึงคนใหญ่โตที่สุด เขาทั้งหลายจะตายด้วยดาบและด้วยการกันดารอาหาร และเขาจะกลายเป็นคำสาป เป็นที่น่าตกตะลึง เป็นคำแช่งและเป็นที่นินทา

¹³For I will punish those who dwell in the land of Egypt, as I have punished Jerusalem, by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence;

¹³เราจะต้องลงโทษคนเหล่านั้น ผู้อาศัยอยู่ในแผ่นดินอียิปต์ ดังที่เราลงโทษกรุงเยรูซาเล็มด้วยดาบ ด้วยการกันดารอาหาร และด้วยโรคระบาด

¹⁴so that none of the remnant of Judah, who have gone into the land of Egypt to live there, shall escape or be left, to return into the land of Judah, to which they have a desire to return to dwell there: for none shall return save such as shall escape.

¹⁴จนคนยูดาห์ที่เหลืออยู่ผู้ซึ่งมาอาศัยในแผ่นดินอียิปต์นั้นจะไม่รอดพ้นหรือเหลือกลับไปยังแผ่นดินยูดาห์ ที่ซึ่งเขาปรารถนาจะกลับไปอาศัยอยู่ เพราะว่าเขาจะไม่ได้กลับไป นอกจากผู้หนีพ้นบางคน"

¹⁵Then all the men who knew that their wives burned incense to other gods, and all the women who stood by, a great assembly, even all the people who lived in the land of Egypt, in Pathros, answered Jeremiah, saying,

¹⁵แล้วบรรดาผู้ชายผู้รู้ว่าภรรยาของตัวได้ถวายเครื่องหอมแก่พระอื่น และบรรดาผู้หญิงที่ยืนอยู่ใกล้เป็นที่ชุมนุมใหญ่ คือบรรดาประชาชนผู้อาศัยในปัทโรส ในแผ่นดินอียิปต์ ได้ตอบเยเรมีย์ว่า

¹⁶As for the word that you have spoken to us in the name of Yahweh, we will not listen to you.

¹⁶"สำหรับถ้อยคำซึ่งท่านได้บอกแก่เราในพระนามของพระเยโฮวาห์นั้น เราจะไม่ฟังท่าน

¹⁷But we will certainly perform every word that is gone forth out of our mouth, to burn incense to the queen of the sky, and to pour out drink offerings to her, as we have done, we and our fathers, our kings and our princes, in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem; for then had we plenty of food, and were well, and saw no evil.

¹⁷แต่เราจะกระทำทุกสิ่งที่เราได้พูดไว้ คือเผาเครื่องหอมถวายเจ้าแม่แห่งฟ้าสวรรค์ และเทเครื่องดื่มถวายแก่พระนางเจ้าดังที่เราได้กระทำ ทั้งพวกเราและบรรพบุรุษของเรา บรรดากษัตริย์และเจ้านายของเรา ในหัวเมืองยูดาห์และในถนนหนทางกรุงเยรูซาเล็ม ทำอย่างนั้นแล้วเราจึงมีอาหารบริบูรณ์และอยู่เย็นเป็นสุข และไม่เห็นเหตุร้ายอย่างใด

¹⁸But since we left off burning incense to the queen of the sky, and pouring out drink offerings to her, we have wanted all things, and have been consumed by the sword and by the famine.

¹⁸ตั้งแต่เรางดการเผาเครื่องหอมแห่งเจ้าแม่แห่งฟ้าสวรรค์ และเทเครื่องดื่มถวายแก่พระนางเจ้า เราก็ขัดสนทุกอย่าง และถูกผลาญด้วยดาบและด้วยการกันดารอาหาร

¹⁹When we burned incense to the queen of the sky, and poured out drink offerings to her, did we make her cakes to worship her, and pour out drink offerings to her, without our husbands?

¹⁹เมื่อเราเผาเครื่องหอมถวายเจ้าแม่แห่งฟ้าสวรรค์ และเทเครื่องดื่มถวายแก่พระนางเจ้า ที่เราได้ทำขนมถวายเพื่อนมัสการพระนางเจ้า และที่ได้เทเครื่องดื่มถวายแก่พระนางเจ้านั้น เรากระทำนอกเหนือความเห็นชอบของสามีของเราหรือ"

²⁰Then Jeremiah said to all the people, to the men, and to the women, even to all the people who had given him an answer, saying,

²⁰แล้วเยเรมีย์ได้ตอบบรรดาประชาชน ทั้งพวกผู้ชายและผู้หญิง คือประชาชนทั้งปวงผู้ให้คำตอบแก่ท่านว่า

²¹The incense that you burned in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem, you and your fathers, your kings and your princes, and the people of the land, didn’t Yahweh remember them, and didn’t it come into his mind?

²¹"สำหรับเครื่องหอมที่ท่านได้เผาถวายในหัวเมืองยูดาห์ และในถนนหนทางกรุงเยรูซาเล็ม ทั้งตัวท่าน บรรพบุรุษของท่าน บรรดากษัตริย์และเจ้านายของท่าน และประชาชนแห่งแผ่นดิน พระเยโฮวาห์มิได้ทรงจดจำไว้ดอกหรือ พระองค์ไม่ได้ทรงนึกถึงหรือ

²²so that Yahweh could no longer bear, because of the evil of your doings, and because of the abominations which you have committed; therefore your land has become a desolation, and an astonishment, and a curse, without inhabitant, as it is this day.

²²จนพระเยโฮวาห์จะทรงทนต่อไปอีกไม่ไหวแล้ว เพราะเหตุจากการกระทำอันชั่วร้ายของท่าน และเพราะเหตุจากการอันน่าสะอิดสะเอียนซึ่งท่านได้กระทำนั้น เพราะฉะนั้นแผ่นดินของท่านจึงได้กลายเป็นที่ร้างเปล่าและเป็นที่น่าตกตะลึง และเป็นที่สาปแช่ง ปราศจากคนอาศัยดังทุกวันนี้

²³Because you have burned incense, and because you have sinned against Yahweh, and have not obeyed the voice of Yahweh, nor walked in his law, nor in his statutes, nor in his testimonies; therefore this evil has happened to you, as it is this day.

²³เพราะว่าท่านได้เผาเครื่องหอม และเพราะว่าท่านได้กระทำบาปต่อพระเยโฮวาห์ และไม่เชื่อฟังพระสุรเสียงของพระเยโฮวาห์ หรือดำเนินตามพระราชบัญญัติของพระองค์ ตามกฎเกณฑ์ของพระองค์ และตามพระโอวาทของพระองค์ ความร้ายนี้จึงได้ตกแก่ท่าน ดังทุกวันนี้"

²⁴Moreover Jeremiah said to all the people, and to all the women, Hear the word of Yahweh, all Judah who are in the land of Egypt:

²⁴เยเรมีย์ได้กล่าวแก่ประชาชนทั้งสิ้นและแก่พวกผู้หญิงทั้งสิ้นว่า "บรรดาท่านทั้งหลายแห่งยูดาห์ผู้อยู่ในแผ่นดินอียิปต์ จงฟังพระวจนะของพระเยโฮวาห์

²⁵Thus says Yahweh of Armies, the God of Israel, saying, You and your wives have both spoken with your mouths, and with your hands have fulfilled it, saying, We will surely perform our vows that we have vowed, to burn incense to the queen of the sky, and to pour out drink offerings to her: establish then your vows, and perform your vows.

²⁵พระเยโฮวาห์จอมโยธา พระเจ้าแห่งอิสราเอล ตรัสดังนี้ว่า ตัวเจ้าและภรรยาของเจ้าได้ยืนยันด้วยปากของเจ้าทั้งหลายเอง และได้กระทำด้วยมือของเจ้าทั้งหลายให้สำเร็จกล่าวว่า `เราจะทำตามการปฏิญาณของเราซึ่งเราได้ปฏิญาณไว้แน่นอน คือเผาเครื่องหอมถวายเจ้าแม่แห่งฟ้าสวรรค์ และเทเครื่องดื่มถวายแก่พระนางเจ้า' แล้วก็ดำรงการปฏิญาณของเจ้าและทำตามการปฏิญาณของเจ้าแน่นอน

²⁶Therefore hear the word of Yahweh, all Judah who dwell in the land of Egypt: Behold, I have sworn by my great name, says Yahweh, that my name shall no more be named in the mouth of any man of Judah in all the land of Egypt, saying, As the Lord Yahweh lives.

²⁶เพราะฉะนั้นบรรดาเจ้าทั้งหลายแห่งยูดาห์ผู้อยู่ในแผ่นดินอียิปต์ จงฟังพระวจนะของพระเยโฮวาห์ พระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสว่า ดูเถิด เราได้ปฏิญาณโดยชื่อใหญ่ยิ่งของเราว่า ปากของคนใดแห่งยูดาห์ตลอดทั่วแผ่นดินอียิปต์จะไม่ออกนามของเราโดยกล่าวว่า `องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าพระเจ้าทรงพระชนม์อยู่ตราบใด'

²⁷Behold, I watch over them for evil, and not for good; and all the men of Judah who are in the land of Egypt shall be consumed by the sword and by the famine, until they are all gone.

²⁷ดูเถิด เราคอยดูอยู่เพื่อให้เกิดความร้าย มิใช่ความดี ชนยูดาห์ทั้งสิ้นผู้อยู่ในแผ่นดินอียิปต์จะถูกผลาญเสียด้วยดาบ และด้วยการกันดารอาหาร จนกว่าจะถึงที่สุดของเขา

²⁸Those who escape the sword shall return out of the land of Egypt into the land of Judah, few in number; and all the remnant of Judah, who have gone into the land of Egypt to live there, shall know whose word shall stand, mine, or theirs.

²⁸และบรรดาผู้ที่หนีพ้นดาบจะกลับจากแผ่นดินอียิปต์ไปยังแผ่นดินยูดาห์ มีจำนวนน้อย และคนยูดาห์ที่เหลืออยู่ทั้งสิ้น ซึ่งมาอาศัยอยู่ที่แผ่นดินอียิปต์ จะทราบว่าคำของใครจะยั่งยืน เป็นคำของเราหรือคำของเขาทั้งหลาย

²⁹This shall be the sign to you, says Yahweh, that I will punish you in this place, that you may know that my words shall surely stand against you for evil:

²⁹พระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสว่า นี่จะเป็นหมายสำคัญแก่เจ้า คือเราจะลงโทษเจ้าในที่นี้ เพื่อเจ้าจะได้ทราบว่า คำของเราจะตั้งมั่นคงอยู่ต่อเจ้าให้เกิดความร้ายเป็นแน่

³⁰Thus says Yahweh, Behold, I will give Pharaoh Hophra king of Egypt into the hand of his enemies, and into the hand of those who seek his life; as I gave Zedekiah king of Judah into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, who was his enemy, and sought his life.

³⁰พระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสดังนี้ว่า ดูเถิด เราจะมอบฟาโรห์โฮฟรากษัตริย์แห่งอียิปต์ไว้ในมือศัตรูของเขา และในมือของคนเหล่านั้นที่แสวงหาชีวิตของเขา ดังที่เราได้มอบเศเดคียาห์กษัตริย์แห่งยูดาห์ไว้ในมือของเนบูคัดเนสซาร์กษัตริย์แห่งบาบิโลน ผู้ซึ่งเป็นศัตรูของเขา และแสวงหาชีวิตของเขา"
