¹It happened that, when Jeremiah had made an end of speaking to all the people all the words of Yahweh their God, with which Yahweh their God had sent him to them, even all these words,

¹ต่อมาเมื่อเยเรมีย์จบการพูดต่อประชาชนทั้งปวงถึงพระวจนะเหล่านี้ทั้งสิ้นของพระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของเขาทั้งหลาย ซึ่งพระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของเขาได้ทรงใช้ท่านให้ไปพูดพระวจนะทั้งสิ้นนี้กับเขาทั้งหลายนั้นแล้ว

²then spoke Azariah the son of Hoshaiah, and Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the proud men, saying to Jeremiah, You speak falsely: Yahweh our God has not sent you to say, You shall not go into Egypt to live there;

²อาซาริยาห์บุตรชายโฮชายาห์และโยฮานันบุตรชายคาเรอาห์ และบรรดาผู้ชายที่โอหังได้พูดกับเยเรมีย์ว่า "ท่านพูดมุสา พระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของเรามิได้ใช้ท่านให้มาพูดว่า `อย่าไปอียิปต์ที่จะอาศัยอยู่ที่นั่น'

³but Baruch the son of Neriah sets you on against us, to deliver us into the hand of the Chaldeans, that they may put us to death, and carry us away captive to Babylon.

³แต่บารุคบุตรชายเนริยาห์ได้ยุท่านให้ต่อสู้กับเรา เพื่อจะมอบเราไว้ในมือของคนเคลเดีย เพื่อเขาทั้งหลายจะได้ฆ่าเรา หรือกวาดเราไปเป็นเชลยในบาบิโลน"

⁴So Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the captains of the forces, and all the people, didn’t obey the voice of Yahweh, to dwell in the land of Judah.

⁴โยฮานันบุตรชายคาเรอาห์ และบรรดาหัวหน้าของกองทหาร และประชาชนทั้งสิ้น ไม่เชื่อฟังพระสุรเสียงของพระเยโฮวาห์ที่จะอาศัยอยู่ในแผ่นดินยูดาห์

⁵But Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the captains of the forces, took all the remnant of Judah, who were returned from all the nations where they had been driven, to live in the land of Judah;

⁵แต่โยฮานันบุตรชายคาเรอาห์และบรรดาผู้หัวหน้าของกองทหารได้พาคนยูดาห์ทุกคนที่เหลืออยู่ไป คือผู้ซึ่งกลับมาอยู่ในแผ่นดินยูดาห์ จากบรรดาประชาชาติที่เขาถูกขับไล่ให้ไปอยู่นั้น

⁶the men, and the women, and the children, and the king’s daughters, and every person who Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard had left with Gedaliah the son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan; and Jeremiah the prophet, and Baruch the son of Neriah;

⁶คือพวกผู้ชายผู้หญิง เด็ก บรรดาธิดา และทุกคนซึ่งเนบูซาระดานผู้บัญชาการทหารรักษาพระองค์ได้เหลือไว้ให้แก่เกดาลิยาห์บุตรชายอาหิคัม ผู้เป็นบุตรชายชาฟาน ทั้งเยเรมีย์ผู้พยากรณ์ และบารุคบุตรชายเนริยาห์

⁷and they came into the land of Egypt; for they didn’t obey the voice of Yahweh: and they came to Tahpanhes.

⁷และเขาทั้งหลายได้มายังแผ่นดินอียิปต์ เพราะเขาทั้งหลายไม่เชื่อฟังพระสุรเสียงของพระเยโฮวาห์ และเขาก็มาถึงนครทาปานเหส

⁸Then came the word of Yahweh to Jeremiah in Tahpanhes, saying,

⁸แล้วพระวจนะของพระเยโฮวาห์มายังเยเรมีย์ในนครทาปานเหสว่า

⁹Take great stones in your hand, and hide them in mortar in the brick work, which is at the entry of Pharaoh’s house in Tahpanhes, in the sight of the men of Judah;

⁹"จงถือก้อนหินใหญ่ๆไว้ จงซ่อนไว้ที่ในปูนสอในเตาเผาอิฐ ซึ่งอยู่ที่ทางเข้าไปสู่พระราชวังของฟาโรห์ในนครทาปานเหสท่ามกลางสายตาของคนยูดาห์

¹⁰and tell them, Thus says Yahweh of Armies, the God of Israel: Behold, I will send and take Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, my servant, and will set his throne on these stones that I have hidden; and he shall spread his royal pavilion over them.

¹⁰และจงกล่าวแก่เขาทั้งหลายว่า พระเยโฮวาห์จอมโยธา พระเจ้าแห่งอิสราเอล ตรัสดังนี้ว่า ดูเถิด เราจะใช้และนำเนบูคัดเนสซาร์กษัตริย์แห่งบาบิโลน ผู้รับใช้ของเรา และท่านจะตั้งพระที่นั่งของท่านเหนือหินเหล่านี้ ซึ่งเราได้ซ่อนไว้ และท่านจะกางพลับพลาหลวงของท่านเหนือหินเหล่านี้

¹¹He shall come, and shall strike the land of Egypt; such as are for death shall be put to death, and such as are for captivity to captivity, and such as are for the sword to the sword.

¹¹เมื่อท่านมาถึง ท่านจะโจมตีแผ่นดินอียิปต์มอบผู้ที่กำหนดให้ถึงความตายจะไปหาความตาย ผู้ถูกกำหนดให้เป็นเชลยแก่การเป็นเชลย และผู้ที่ถูกกำหนดให้ถูกดาบให้แก่ดาบ

¹²I will kindle a fire in the houses of the gods of Egypt; and he shall burn them, and carry them away captive: and he shall array himself with the land of Egypt, as a shepherd puts on his garment; and he shall go forth from there in peace.

¹²และเราจะก่อไฟในวิหารของพระแห่งอียิปต์ และท่านจะเผาเสียและเก็บไปเป็นเชลย และท่านจะปกคลุมตัวเองด้วยแผ่นดินอียิปต์ เหมือนผู้เลี้ยงแกะปกคลุมตัวเองด้วยเสื้อคลุม และท่านจะไปเสียจากที่นั่นด้วยสันติภาพ

¹³He shall also break the pillars of Beth Shemesh, that is in the land of Egypt; and the houses of the gods of Egypt shall he burn with fire.
