¹Of the children of Ammon. Thus says Yahweh: Has Israel no sons? has he no heir? why then does Malcam possess Gad, and his people well in its cities?

¹เกี่ยวด้วยเรื่องคนอัมโมน พระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสว่า "อิสราเอลไม่มีบุตรชายหรือ เขาไม่มีทายาทหรือ แล้วทำไมกษัตริย์ของพวกเขาจึงรับกาดเป็นมรดก และประชาชนของท่านอาศัยอยู่ในหัวเมืองของท่าน

²Therefore behold, the days come, says Yahweh, that I will cause an alarm of war to be heard against Rabbah of the children of Ammon; and it shall become a desolate heap, and her daughters shall be burned with fire: then shall Israel possess those who possessed him, says Yahweh.

²พระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสว่า เพราะฉะนั้น ดูเถิด วันเวลาจะมาถึง เมื่อเราจะกระทำให้ได้ยินเสียงสัญญาณสงครามในนครรับบาห์ของคนอัมโมน มันจะกลายเป็นกองซากปรักหักพัง และธิดาทั้งหลายของเมืองนั้นจะถูกเผาเสียด้วยไฟ แล้วอิสราเอลจะเป็นทายาทของคนเหล่านั้นที่เคยเป็นทายาทของเขาอีก พระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสดังนี้แหละ

³Wail, Heshbon, for Ai is laid waste; cry, you daughters of Rabbah, clothe yourself in sackcloth: lament, and run back and forth among the fences; for Malcam shall go into captivity, his priests and his princes together.

³เฮชโบนเอ๋ย จงคร่ำครวญ เพราะเมืองอัยถูกทำลาย บุตรสาวแห่งนครรับบาห์เอ๋ย จงร้องร่ำไร จงเอาผ้ากระสอบคาดเอวไว้ จงโอดครวญ วิ่งไปวิ่งมาอยู่ท่ามกลางรั้วต้นไม้ เพราะกษัตริย์ของพวกเขาจะต้องถูกกวาดไปเป็นเชลย พร้อมกับปุโรหิตและเจ้านายของมัน

⁴Why do you glory in the valleys, your flowing valley, backsliding daughter? who trusted in her treasures, saying, Who shall come to me?

⁴บุตรสาวผู้กลับสัตย์เอ๋ย ทำไมเจ้าโอ้อวดบรรดาหุบเขา หุบเขาของเจ้ามีน้ำไหล ผู้วางใจในสมบัติของตนว่า `ใครจะมาสู้ฉันนะ'

⁵Behold, I will bring a fear on you, says the Lord, Yahweh of Armies, from all who are around you; and you shall be driven out every man right forth, and there shall be none to gather together the fugitives.

⁵องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าพระเจ้าจอมโยธาตรัสว่า ดูเถิด เราจะนำความสยดสยองมาเหนือเจ้า จากทุกคนที่อยู่รอบตัวเจ้า และเจ้าจะถูกขับไล่ออกไป ชายทุกคนตรงหน้าเขาออกไป และจะไม่มีใครรวบรวมคนลี้ภัยได้

⁶But afterward I will bring back the captivity of the children of Ammon, says Yahweh.

⁶แต่ภายหลังเราจะให้คนอัมโมนกลับสู่สภาพเดิม" พระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสดังนี้แหละ

⁷Of Edom. Thus says Yahweh of Armies: Is wisdom no more in Teman? is counsel perished from the prudent? is their wisdom vanished?

⁷เกี่ยวกับเรื่องเมืองเอโดม พระเยโฮวาห์จอมโยธา ตรัสดังนี้ว่า "สติปัญญาไม่มีในเทมานอีกแล้วหรือ คำปรึกษาพินาศไปจากผู้เฉลียวฉลาดแล้วหรือ สติปัญญาของเขาหายสูญไปเสียแล้วหรือ

⁸Flee, turn back, dwell in the depths, inhabitants of Dedan; for I will bring the calamity of Esau on him, the time that I shall visit him.

⁸ชาวเมืองเดดานเอ๋ย จงหนี จงหันกลับ จงอาศัยในที่ลึก เพราะว่าเราจะนำภัยพิบัติของเอซาวมาเหนือเขา เวลาเมื่อเราจะลงโทษเขา

⁹If grape gatherers came to you, would they not leave some gleaning grapes? if thieves by night, wouldn’t they destroy until they had enough?

⁹ถ้าคนเก็บองุ่นมาหาเจ้า เขาจะไม่ทิ้งองุ่นตกค้างไว้บ้างหรือ ถ้าขโมยมาเวลากลางคืน เขาจะไม่ทำลายเพียงพอแก่ตัวเขาเท่านั้นหรือ

¹⁰But I have made Esau bare, I have uncovered his secret places, and he shall not be able to hide himself: his seed is destroyed, and his brothers, and his neighbors; and he is no more.

¹⁰แต่เราได้เปลือยเอซาวให้เปลือยเลย เราได้เปิดที่ซ่อนของเขา และเขาไม่สามารถซ่อนตัวได้ เชื้อสายของเขาถูกทำลาย และพี่น้องของเขา และเพื่อนบ้านของเขา ไม่มีเขาอีกแล้ว

¹¹Leave your fatherless children, I will preserve them alive; and let your widows trust in me.

¹¹จงทิ้งเด็กกำพร้าพ่อของเจ้าไว้เถิด เราจะให้เขามีชีวิตอยู่ และให้แม่ม่ายของเจ้าวางใจในเราเถิด"

¹²For thus says Yahweh: Behold, they to whom it didn’t pertain to drink of the cup shall certainly drink; and are you he who shall altogether go unpunished? You shall not go unpunished, but you shall surely drink.

¹²เพราะพระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสดังนี้ว่า "ดูเถิด ถ้าคนที่ยังไม่สมควรจะดื่มจากถ้วยนั้นยังต้องดื่ม เจ้าจะพ้นโทษไปได้หรือ เจ้าจะพ้นโทษไปไม่ได้ เจ้าจะต้องดื่ม

¹³For I have sworn by myself, says Yahweh, that Bozrah shall become an astonishment, a reproach, a waste, and a curse; and all its cities shall be perpetual wastes.

¹³พระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสว่า เราได้ปฏิญาณต่อตัวของเราเองว่า โบสราห์จะต้องกลายเป็นที่รกร้าง เป็นที่ตำหนิติเตียน เป็นที่ที่ถูกทิ้งไว้เสียเปล่า และเป็นคำสาปแช่ง และหัวเมืองทั้งสิ้นของเขาจะเป็นที่ที่ถูกทิ้งไว้เสียเปล่าอยู่เนืองนิตย์"

¹⁴I have heard news from Yahweh, and an ambassador is sent among the nations, saying, Gather yourselves together, and come against her, and rise up to the battle.

¹⁴ข้าพเจ้าได้ยินข่าวลือจากพระเยโฮวาห์ ทูตคนหนึ่งถูกส่งไปท่ามกลางบรรดาประชาชาติ บอกว่า "จงรวบรวมเจ้าทั้งหลายเข้า และมาต่อสู้เมืองนั้น และลุกขึ้นเพื่อกระทำสงครามเถิด

¹⁵For, behold, I have made you small among the nations, and despised among men.

¹⁵เพราะว่า ดูเถิด เราจะกระทำเจ้าให้เล็กท่ามกลางบรรดาประชาชาติ ให้เป็นที่ดูหมิ่นท่ามกลางมนุษย์

¹⁶As for your terror, the pride of your heart has deceived you, O you who dwell in the clefts of the rock, who hold the height of the hill: though you should make your nest as high as the eagle, I will bring you down from there, says Yahweh.

¹⁶เพราะความหวาดเสียวของเจ้าได้หลอกลวงเจ้า ทั้งความเห่อเหิมแห่งใจของเจ้า เจ้าผู้ซึ่งอาศัยอยู่ในซอกหิน ผู้ยึดยอดภูเขาไว้เอ๋ย แม้เจ้าทำรังของเจ้าสูงเหมือนอย่างรังนกอินทรี เราจะฉุดเจ้าลงมาจากที่นั่น พระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสดังนี้แหละ

¹⁷Edom shall become an astonishment: everyone who passes by it shall be astonished, and shall hiss at all its plagues.

¹⁷เอโดมจะกลายเป็นที่รกร้าง ทุกคนที่ผ่านเอโดมจะตกตะลึง และจะเย้ยหยันในภัยพิบัติทั้งสิ้นของมัน

¹⁸As in the overthrow of Sodom and Gomorrah and the neighbor cities of it, says Yahweh, no man shall dwell there, neither shall any son of man live therein.

¹⁸อย่างเมื่อเมืองโสโดม และเมืองโกโมราห์ และหัวเมืองใกล้เคียงของมันถูกทำลายล้าง พระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสว่า ไม่มีใครจะพำนักอยู่ที่นั่น ไม่มีบุตรของมนุษย์คนใดจะอาศัยในเมืองนั้น

¹⁹Behold, he shall come up like a lion from the pride of the Jordan against the strong habitation: for I will suddenly make them run away from it; and whoever is chosen, him will I appoint over it: for who is like me? and who will appoint me a time? and who is the shepherd who will stand before me?

¹⁹ดูเถิด เขาจะขึ้นมาอย่างสิงโตจากคลื่นของลุ่มแม่น้ำจอร์แดนโจนเข้าใส่คอกของแกะที่แข็งแรง แต่เราจะกระทำให้เขาวิ่งหนีเธอไปอย่างฉับพลัน และใครเป็นผู้ที่เลือกสรรไว้ ที่เราจะแต่งตั้งไว้เหนือเธอ ใครเป็นอย่างเราเล่า ใครจะนัดเราเล่า ผู้เลี้ยงแกะคนใดจะทนยืนอยู่ต่อหน้าเราได้

²⁰Therefore hear the counsel of Yahweh, that he has taken against Edom; and his purposes, that he has purposed against the inhabitants of Teman: Surely they shall drag them away, the little ones of the flock; surely he shall make their habitation desolate over them.

²⁰เพราะฉะนั้นจงฟังคำปรีกษาซึ่งพระเยโฮวาห์ทรงเตรียมไว้ต่อสู้เมืองเอโดม และพระประสงค์ทั้งหลายซึ่งพระองค์ได้ดำริไว้ต่อสู้ชาวเมืองเทมาน แน่ล่ะ ถึงตัวเล็กที่สุดในฝูงก็จะต้องถูกลากเอาไป แน่ละ พระองค์จะทรงกระทำให้ที่อาศัยของเขาร้างเปล่าไปพร้อมกับเขาด้วย

²¹The earth trembles at the noise of their fall; there is a cry, the noise which is heard in the Red Sea or, Sea of Reeds .

²¹แผ่นดินโลกสั่นสะเทือนเพราะเสียงที่มันล้ม เสียงคร่ำครวญของเขาได้ยินถึงทะเลแดง

²²Behold, he shall come up and fly as the eagle, and spread out his wings against Bozrah: and the heart of the mighty men of Edom at that day shall be as the heart of a woman in her pangs.

²²ดูเถิด ผู้หนึ่งจะเหาะขึ้นและโฉบลงเหมือนนกอินทรี และกางปีกของมันออกสู้โบสราห์ และจิตใจของนักรบแห่งเอโดมในวันนั้นจะเป็นเหมือนจิตใจของหญิงปวดท้องคลอดบุตร

²³Of Damascus. Hamath is confounded, and Arpad; for they have heard evil news, they are melted away: there is sorrow on the sea; it can’t be quiet.

²³เกี่ยวด้วยเรื่องเมืองดามัสกัส เมืองฮามัทและเมืองอารปัดได้ขายหน้า เพราะเขาทั้งหลายได้ยินข่าวร้าย เขาก็กลัวลาน ทะเลก็ทุรนทุราย มันสงบลงไม่ได้

²⁴Damascus has grown feeble, she turns herself to flee, and trembling has seized on her: anguish and sorrows have taken hold of her, as of a woman in travail.

²⁴เมืองดามัสกัสก็อ่อนเพลียแล้ว เธอหันหนีและความกลัวจนตัวสั่นจับเธอไว้ ความแสนระทมและความเศร้ายึดเธอไว้อย่างผู้หญิงกำลังคลอดบุตร

²⁵How is the city of praise not forsaken, the city of my joy?

²⁵เมืองแห่งการสรรเสริญนั้นถูกทอดทิ้งแล้วหนอ คือเมืองที่เต็มด้วยความชื่นบานนั่นน่ะ

²⁶Therefore her young men shall fall in her streets, and all the men of war shall be brought to silence in that day, says Yahweh of Armies.

²⁶เพราะฉะนั้นคนหนุ่มๆของเมืองนั้นจะล้มลงตามถนนทั้งหลายในเมืองนั้น และบรรดาทหารของเมืองนั้นจะถูกตัดออกในวันนั้น พระเยโฮวาห์จอมโยธาตรัสดังนี้แหละ

²⁷I will kindle a fire in the wall of Damascus, and it shall devour the palaces of Ben Hadad.

²⁷และเราจะก่อไฟขึ้นในกำแพงเมืองดามัสกัส และไฟนั้นจะกินพระราชวังของเบนฮาดัดเสีย

²⁸Of Kedar, and of the kingdoms of Hazor, which Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon struck. Thus says Yahweh: Arise, go up to Kedar, and destroy the children of the east.

²⁸เกี่ยวด้วยเรื่องคนเคดาร์และราชอาณาจักรฮาโซร์ ซึ่งเนบูคัดเนสซาร์กษัตริย์แห่งบาบิโลนจะโจมตี พระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสดังนี้ว่า จงลุกขึ้น รุดเข้าไปสู้คนเคดาร์ จงทำลายประชาชนแห่งตะวันออกเสีย

²⁹Their tents and their flocks shall they take; they shall carry away for themselves their curtains, and all their vessels, and their camels; and they shall cry to them, Terror on every side!

²⁹เต็นท์และฝูงแพะแกะของเขาจะถูกริบเสีย ทั้งม่านและภาชนะทั้งสิ้นของเขา อูฐของเขาจะถูกนำเอาไปจากเขา และคนจะร้องแก่เขาว่า `ความสยดสยองทุกด้าน'

³⁰Flee, wander far off, dwell in the depths, you inhabitants of Hazor, says Yahweh; for Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon has taken counsel against you, and has conceived a purpose against you.

³⁰พระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสว่า ชาวเมืองฮาโซร์เอ๋ย หนีเถิด จงสัญจรไปไกล ไปอาศัยในที่ลึก เพราะเนบูคัดเนสซาร์กษัตริย์แห่งบาบิโลนได้ดำริแผนงานต่อสู้เจ้า และก่อตั้งความประสงค์ไว้สู้เจ้า

³¹Arise, go up to a nation that is at ease, that dwells without care, says Yahweh; that have neither gates nor bars, that dwell alone.

³¹พระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสว่า จงลุกขึ้น รุดหน้าไปสู้ประชาชาติหนึ่งที่มั่งมี ซึ่งอาศัยอยู่อย่างมั่นคง ไม่มีประตูเมืองและไม่มีดาลประตู อยู่แต่ลำพัง

³²Their camels shall be a booty, and the multitude of their livestock a spoil: and I will scatter to all winds those who have the corners of their beards cut off; and I will bring their calamity from every side of them, says Yahweh.

³²อูฐของเขาทั้งหลายจะกลายเป็นของที่ปล้นมาได้ และฝูงวัวอันมากมายของเขาจะเป็นของที่ริบมา พระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสว่า เราจะกระจายเขาไปทุกทิศลม คือคนที่อยู่ในมุมที่ไกลที่สุด และเราจะนำภัยพิบัติมาจากทุกด้านของเขา

³³Hazor shall be a dwelling place of jackals, a desolation forever: no man shall dwell there, neither shall any son of man live therein.

³³เมืองฮาโซร์จะเป็นที่อาศัยของมังกร เป็นที่ที่ถูกทิ้งไว้ให้รกร้างอยู่เป็นนิตย์ ไม่มีใครจะพำนักที่นั่น ไม่มีบุตรของมนุษย์คนใดจะอาศัยในเมืองนั้น"

³⁴The word of Yahweh that came to Jeremiah the prophet concerning Elam, in the beginning of the reign of Zedekiah king of Judah, saying,

³⁴พระวจนะของพระเยโฮวาห์ ซึ่งมายังเยเรมีย์ผู้พยากรณ์เกี่ยวด้วยเรื่องเมืองเอลามในตอนต้นรัชกาลเศเดคียาห์กษัตริย์แห่งยูดาห์ว่า

³⁵Thus says Yahweh of Armies: Behold, I will break the bow of Elam, the chief of their might.

³⁵"พระเยโฮวาห์จอมโยธาตรัสดังนี้ว่า ดูเถิด เราจะหักคันธนูของเอลาม ซึ่งเป็นหัวใจแห่งกำลังของเขาทั้งหลาย

³⁶On Elam will I bring the four winds from the four quarters of the sky, and will scatter them toward all those winds; and there shall be no nation where the outcasts of Elam shall not come.

³⁶และเราจะนำลมทั้งสี่ทิศจากฟ้าทั้งสี่ส่วนมาสู้เอลาม และเราจะกระจายเขาไปตามลมเหล่านั้นทั้งหมด จะไม่มีประชาชาติใดซึ่งผู้ถูกขับไล่ออกไปจากเอลามจะมาไม่ถึง

³⁷I will cause Elam to be dismayed before their enemies, and before those who seek their life; and I will bring evil on them, even my fierce anger, says Yahweh; and I will send the sword after them, until I have consumed them;

³⁷ด้วยว่าเราจะกระทำให้เอลามสยดสยองต่อหน้าศัตรูของเขาทั้งหลาย และต่อหน้าผู้ที่แสวงหาชีวิตของเขา พระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสว่า เราจะนำเหตุร้ายมาถึงเขาทั้งหลาย คือความพิโรธอันแรงกล้า เราจะใช้ให้ดาบไล่ตามเขาทั้งหลาย จนกว่าเราจะได้เผาผลาญเขาเสีย

³⁸and I will set my throne in Elam, and will destroy from there king and princes, says Yahweh.

³⁸และเราจะตั้งพระที่นั่งของเราในเอลาม และจะทำลายกษัตริย์และบรรดาเจ้านายของเขาทั้งหลาย พระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสดังนี้

³⁹But it shall happen in the latter days, that I will bring back the captivity of Elam, says Yahweh.

³⁹พระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสว่า แต่ในกาลต่อไปเราจะให้เอลามกลับสู่สภาพเดิม"
