¹The word that came to Jeremiah from Yahweh, saying,

¹พระวจนะซึ่งมาจากพระเยโฮวาห์ถึงเยเรมีย์ว่า

²“Stand in the gate of Yahweh’s house, and proclaim there this word, and say, ‘Hear the word of Yahweh, all you of Judah, who enter in at these gates to worship Yahweh.

²"เจ้าจงยืนอยู่ในประตูกำแพงพระนิเวศของพระเยโฮวาห์ และประกาศถ้อยคำเหล่านี้ที่นั่นว่า บรรดาคนยูดาห์ทั้งปวง ผู้เข้ามาในประตูกำแพงนี้เพื่อจะนมัสการพระเยโฮวาห์ จงฟังพระวจนะพระเยโฮวาห์

³Thus says Yahweh of Armies, the God of Israel, Amend your ways and your doings, and I will cause you to dwell in this place.

³พระเยโฮวาห์จอมโยธาพระเจ้าของอิสราเอล ตรัสดังนี้ว่า จงซ่อมพฤติการณ์และการกระทำของเจ้าเสีย และเราจะให้เจ้าอาศัยอยู่ในสถานที่นี้

⁴Don’t trust in lying words, saying, Yahweh’s temple, Yahweh’s temple, Yahweh’s temple, are these.

⁴อย่าไว้วางใจในคำเท็จเหล่านี้ที่ว่า `นี่เป็นพระวิหารของพระเยโฮวาห์ พระวิหารของพระเยโฮวาห์ พระวิหารของพระเยโฮวาห์'

⁵For if you thoroughly amend your ways and your doings; if you thoroughly execute justice between a man and his neighbor;

⁵เพราะว่า ถ้าเจ้าซ่อมพฤติการณ์และการกระทำของเจ้าจริงๆ ถ้าเจ้าให้ความยุติธรรมระหว่างคนหนึ่งกับเพื่อนบ้านของเขาจริงๆ

⁶if you don’t oppress the foreigner, the fatherless, and the widow, and don’t shed innocent blood in this place, neither walk after other gods to your own hurt:

⁶ถ้าเจ้าไม่บีบบังคับคนต่างด้าว ลูกกำพร้าพ่อหรือแม่ม่าย และไม่หลั่งโลหิตที่ไร้ความผิดให้ถึงตายในที่นี้ และเจ้าทั้งหลายไม่ติดตามพระอื่นไปให้เจ็บตัวเอง

⁷then will I cause you to dwell in this place, in the land that I gave to your fathers, from of old even forevermore.

⁷แล้วเราจะให้เจ้าอาศัยอยู่ในสถานที่นี้ ในแผ่นดินซึ่งเราได้ยกให้แก่บรรบุรุษของเจ้าเป็นนิตย์

⁸Behold, you trust in lying words, that can’t profit.

⁸ดูเถิด เจ้าวางใจในคำเท็จอย่างไม่ได้ประโยชน์อะไรเลย

⁹Will you steal, murder, and commit adultery, and swear falsely, and burn incense to Baal, and walk after other gods that you have not known,

⁹เจ้าจะลักทรัพย์ ฆ่าคน ล่วงประเวณี ปฏิญาณเท็จ เผาเครื่องบูชาถวายพระบาอัลและติดตามพระอื่นซึ่งเจ้าทั้งหลายมิได้รู้จักไปหรือ

¹⁰and come and stand before me in this house, which is called by my name, and say, We are delivered; that you may do all these abominations?

¹⁰แล้วจึงมายืนต่อหน้าเราในนิเวศนี้ ซึ่งเรียกตามนามของเรา และกล่าวว่า `เราทั้งหลายได้รับการช่วยให้รอดพ้นมาแล้ว เพื่อจะไปกระทำสิ่งที่น่าสะอิดสะเอียนเหล่านี้ทั้งสิ้น'

¹¹Is this house, which is called by my name, become a den of robbers in your eyes? Behold, I, even I, have seen it, says Yahweh.

¹¹นิเวศนี้ซึ่งเรียกตามนามของเรา ในสายตาของเจ้าได้กลายเป็นที่ซ่องสุมของพวกโจรไปแล้วหรือ พระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสว่า ดูเถิด แม้แต่เราก็ได้เห็นเองแล้ว

¹²But go now to my place which was in Shiloh, where I caused my name to dwell at the first, and see what I did to it for the wickedness of my people Israel.

¹²แต่จงไปยังสถานที่ของเราซึ่งเคยอยู่ในเมืองชีโลห์ ซึ่งทีแรกเราได้กระทำให้นามของเราอยู่ที่นั่น จงดูว่าเพราะความชั่วร้ายของอิสราเอลประชาชนของเรา เราได้กระทำอะไรต่อสถานที่นั้น

¹³Now, because you have done all these works, says Yahweh, and I spoke to you, rising up early and speaking, but you didn’t hear; and I called you, but you didn’t answer:

¹³พระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสว่า และบัดนี้ เพราะเจ้าทั้งหลายได้กระทำสิ่งเหล่านี้ทั้งสิ้น และเมื่อเราพูดกับเจ้าอย่างไม่หยุดยั้ง แต่เจ้าทั้งหลายหาได้ฟังไม่ และเมื่อเราได้เรียกพวกเจ้า แต่เจ้ามิได้ตอบ

¹⁴therefore will I do to the house which is called by my name, in which you trust, and to the place which I gave to you and to your fathers, as I did to Shiloh.

¹⁴เหตุฉะนี้เราจะกระทำต่อนิเวศนี้ซึ่งเราเรียกตามนามของเรา และซึ่งพวกเจ้าได้วางใจนั้น และกระทำแก่สถานที่ซึ่งเราได้ยกให้แก่เจ้าและแก่บรรพบุรุษของเจ้าเหมือนเราได้กระทำแก่ชีโลห์

¹⁵I will cast you out of my sight, as I have cast out all your brothers, even the whole seed of Ephraim.

¹⁵และเราจะเหวี่ยงเจ้าทิ้งจากสายตาของเรา เหมือนอย่างที่เราได้ทิ้งบรรดาพวกพี่น้องของเจ้า คือบรรดาเชื้อสายของเอฟราอิมทั้งหมดนั้น

¹⁶Therefore don’t pray for this people, neither lift up a cry nor prayer for them, neither make intercession to me; for I will not hear you.

¹⁶เพราะฉะนั้นเจ้าอย่าอธิษฐานเพื่อชนชาตินี้ อย่าร้องขึ้นหรืออธิษฐานเพื่อเขา และอย่าวิงวอนขอต่อเรา เพราะเราจะไม่ฟังเจ้า

¹⁷Don’t you see what they do in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem?

¹⁷เจ้ามิได้เห็นดอกหรือว่า เขากระทำอะไรกันในหัวเมืองทั้งหลายแห่งยูดาห์ และตามถนนหนทางในเยรูซาเล็ม

¹⁸The children gather wood, and the fathers kindle the fire, and the women knead the dough, to make cakes to the queen of the sky, and to pour out drink offerings to other gods, that they may provoke me to anger.

¹⁸พวกเด็กๆก็เก็บฟืน พวกพ่อๆก็ก่อไฟ พวกผู้หญิงก็นวดแป้ง เพื่อทำขนมถวายแด่เจ้าแม่แห่งฟ้าสวรรค์ และเขาเทเครื่องดื่มบูชาถวายแด่พระอื่นๆ เพื่อยั่วยุให้เราโกรธ"

¹⁹Do they provoke me to anger? says Yahweh. Don’t they provoke themselves, to the confusion of their own faces?

¹⁹พระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสว่า "คือเราที่เขายั่วยุหรือ มิใช่ยั่วยุตัวเขาเองให้ไปสู่ความขายหน้าของเขาทั้งหลายดอกหรือ"

²⁰Therefore thus says the Lord Yahweh: Behold, my anger and my wrath shall be poured out on this place, on man, and on animal, and on the trees of the field, and on the fruit of the ground; and it shall burn, and shall not be quenched.

²⁰ฉะนั้น องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าพระเจ้าจึงตรัสดังนี้ว่า "ดูเถิด ความกริ้วและความโกรธของเราจะเทลงมาบนสถานที่นี้ บนมนุษย์และสัตว์ บนต้นไม้ในท้องทุ่งและบนพืชผลของแผ่นดิน จะเผาผลาญเสียและจะดับไม่ได้"

²¹Thus says Yahweh of Armies, the God of Israel: Add your burnt offerings to your sacrifices, and eat meat.

²¹พระเยโฮวาห์จอมโยธา พระเจ้าแห่งอิสราเอล ตรัสดังนี้ว่า "จงเพิ่มเครื่องเผาบูชาเข้ากับเครื่องสักการบูชาของเจ้า และจงรับประทานเนื้อ

²²For I didn’t speak to your fathers, nor command them in the day that I brought them out of the land of Egypt, concerning burnt offerings or sacrifices:

²²เพราะในวันที่เราได้พาเขาทั้งหลายออกมาจากแผ่นดินอียิปต์ เรามิได้พูดกับบรรพบุรุษของเจ้าหรือสั่งเขาเรื่องเครื่องเผาบูชาและเครื่องสักการบูชา

²³but this thing I commanded them, saying, Listen to my voice, and I will be your God, and you shall be my people; and walk in all the way that I command you, that it may be well with you.

²³แต่เราบัญชาเขาทั้งหลายอย่างนี้ว่า `จงเชื่อฟังเสียงของเรา และเราจะเป็นพระเจ้าของเจ้า และเจ้าจะเป็นประชาชนของเรา และดำเนินในหนทางที่เราได้บัญชาเจ้าไว้ เพื่อเจ้าจะได้อยู่เย็นเป็นสุข'

²⁴But they didn’t listen nor turn their ear, but walked in their own counsels and in the stubbornness of their evil heart, and went backward, and not forward.

²⁴แต่เขาทั้งหลายมิได้เชื่อฟังหรือเงี่ยหูฟัง แต่เขาทั้งหลายดำเนินตามแผนการของเขาเอง และในความดื้อกระด้างตามจิตใจชั่วของเขาทั้งหลาย และเดินถอยหลัง มิได้เดินขึ้นหน้า

²⁵Since the day that your fathers came forth out of the land of Egypt to this day, I have sent to you all my servants the prophets, daily rising up early and sending them:

²⁵ตั้งแต่วันที่บรรพบุรุษของเจ้าทั้งหลายออกจากแผ่นดินอียิปต์จนทุกวันนี้ เราได้ส่งบรรดาผู้พยากรณ์ผู้รับใช้ของเราไปยังเขาอย่างไม่หยุดยั้ง วันแล้ววันเล่า

²⁶yet they didn’t listen to me, nor inclined their ear, but made their neck stiff: they did worse than their fathers.

²⁶ถึงกระนั้นเขาก็ยังไม่ฟังเรา หรือเงี่ยหูฟัง แต่ได้กระทำให้คอของตนแข็ง เขาได้กระทำชั่วร้ายยิ่งกว่าบรรพบุรุษทั้งหลายของเขาเสียอีก

²⁷You shall speak all these words to them; but they will not listen to you: you shall also call to them; but they will not answer you.

²⁷เจ้าจึงกล่าวบรรดาถ้อยคำเหล่านี้แก่เขา แต่เขาจะไม่ฟังเจ้า เจ้าจงร้องเรียกเขา แต่เขาจะไม่ยอมตอบเจ้า

²⁸You shall tell them, This is the nation that has not listened to the voice of Yahweh their God, nor received instruction: truth is perished, and is cut off from their mouth.

²⁸แต่เจ้าจงพูดแก่เขาว่า `นี่เป็นประชาชาติที่ไม่เชื่อฟังพระสุรเสียงของพระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของเขา และไม่ยอมรับการแก้ไข สัจจะพินาศเสียแล้ว ถูกตัดขาดเสียจากปากของเขาแล้ว

²⁹Cut off your hair, and throw it away, and take up a lamentation on the bare heights; for Yahweh has rejected and forsaken the generation of his wrath.

²⁹เยรูซาเล็มเอ๋ย จงตัดผมของเจ้าออกเหวี่ยงทิ้งไป จงคร่ำครวญบนที่สูง เพราะว่าพระเยโฮวาห์ทรงปฏิเสธและละทิ้งชั่วอายุแห่งพระพิโรธของพระองค์แล้ว'

³⁰For the children of Judah have done that which is evil in my sight, says Yahweh: they have set their abominations in the house which is called by my name, to defile it.

³⁰พระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสว่า เพราะคนยูดาห์ได้กระทำความชั่วในสายตาของเรา เขาได้ตั้งสิ่งที่น่าสะอิดสะเอียนไว้ในนิเวศซึ่งเรียกตามนามของเรา กระทำให้นิเวศนั้นมัวหมองไป

³¹They have built the high places of Topheth, which is in the valley of the son of Hinnom, to burn their sons and their daughters in the fire; which I didn’t command, nor did it come into my mind.

³¹และได้สร้างปูชนียสถานสูงของโทเฟท ซึ่งอยู่ในหุบเขาแห่งบุตรชายของฮินโนม เพื่อจะเผาบุตรชายและบุตรสาวของเขาทั้งหลายเสียด้วยไฟ ซึ่งเรามิได้บัญชา และไม่เคยมีขึ้นในใจของเรา

³²Therefore behold, the days come, says Yahweh, that it shall no more be called Topheth, nor The valley of the son of Hinnom, but The valley of Slaughter: for they shall bury in Topheth, until there is no place to bury.

³²พระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสว่า เพราะฉะนั้น ดูเถิด วันเวลาจะมาถึงเมื่อเขาจะไม่เรียกที่นั้นอีกว่าโทเฟท หรือภูเขาแห่งบุตรชายของฮินโนม แต่จะเรียกว่า หุบเขาแห่งการฆ่าฟันกัน เพราะเขาจะฝังกันไว้ในโทเฟทจนไม่มีที่ว่างแล้ว

³³The dead bodies of this people shall be food for the birds of the sky, and for the animals of the earth; and none shall frighten them away.

³³และศพของชนชาตินี้จะเป็นอาหารของนกในอากาศ และแก่สัตว์แห่งแผ่นดินโลก และไม่มีใครจะขับไล่ให้มันไปเสียได้

³⁴Then will I cause to cease from the cities of Judah, and from the streets of Jerusalem, the voice of mirth and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride; for the land shall become a waste.

³⁴เราจะกระทำให้เสียงรื่นเริงและเสียงยินดี เสียงของเจ้าบ่าวและเสียงของเจ้าสาว ขาดหายไปจากหัวเมืองของยูดาห์ และจากถนนหนทางแห่งกรุงเยรูซาเล็ม เพราะว่าแผ่นดินนั้นจะต้องรกร้างไป"
