¹So Pilate then took Jesus, and flogged him.

¹ขณะนั้นปีลาตจึงให้เอาพระเยซูไปโบยตี

²The soldiers twisted thorns into a crown, and put it on his head, and dressed him in a purple garment.

²และพวกทหารก็เอาหนามสานเป็นมงกุฎสวมพระเศียรของพระองค์ และให้พระองค์สวมเสื้อสีม่วง

³They kept saying, “Hail, King of the Jews!” and they kept slapping him.

³แล้วทูลว่า "ท่านกษัตริย์ของพวกยิว ขอทรงพระเจริญ" และเขาก็ตบพระองค์ด้วยฝ่ามือ

⁴Then Pilate went out again, and said to them, “Behold, I bring him out to you, that you may know that I find no basis for a charge against him.”

⁴ปีลาตจึงออกไปอีกและกล่าวแก่คนทั้งหลายว่า "ดูเถิด เราพาคนนี้ออกมาให้ท่านทั้งหลายเพื่อให้ท่านรู้ว่า เราไม่เห็นว่าเขามีความผิดสิ่งใดเลย"

⁵Jesus therefore came out, wearing the crown of thorns and the purple garment. Pilate said to them, “Behold, the man!”

⁵พระเยซูจึงเสด็จออกมาทรงมงกุฎทำด้วยหนามและทรงเสื้อสีม่วง และปีลาตกล่าวแก่เขาทั้งหลายว่า "ดูคนนี้ซิ"

⁶When therefore the chief priests and the officers saw him, they shouted, saying, “Crucify! Crucify!” Pilate said to them, “Take him yourselves, and crucify him, for I find no basis for a charge against him.”

⁶ฉะนั้นเมื่อพวกปุโรหิตใหญ่และพวกเจ้าหน้าที่ได้เห็นพระองค์ เขาทั้งหลายร้องอึงว่า "ตรึงเขาเสีย ตรึงเขาเสีย" ปีลาตกล่าวแก่เขาว่า "พวกท่านเอาเขาไปตรึงเองเถิด เพราะเราไม่เห็นว่าเขามีความผิดเลย"

⁷The Jews answered him, “We have a law, and by our law he ought to die, because he made himself the Son of God.”

⁷พวกยิวตอบท่านว่า "พวกเรามีกฎหมาย และตามกฎหมายนั้นเขาควรจะตาย เพราะเขาได้ตั้งตัวเป็นพระบุตรของพระเจ้า"

⁸When therefore Pilate heard this saying, he was more afraid.

⁸ครั้นปีลาตจึงได้ยินดังนั้น ท่านก็ตกใจกลัวมากขึ้น

⁹He entered into the Praetorium again, and said to Jesus, “Where are you from?” But Jesus gave him no answer.

⁹ท่านเข้าไปในศาลปรีโทเรียมอีกและทูลพระเยซูว่า "ท่านมาจากไหน" แต่พระเยซูมิได้ตรัสตอบประการใด

¹⁰Pilate therefore said to him, “Aren’t you speaking to me? Don’t you know that I have power to release you, and have power to crucify you?”

¹⁰ปีลาตจึงทูลพระองค์ว่า "ท่านจะไม่พูดกับเราหรือ ท่านไม่รู้หรือว่าเรามีอำนาจที่จะตรึงท่านที่กางเขน และมีอำนาจที่จะปล่อยท่านได้"

¹¹Jesus answered, “You would have no power at all against me, unless it were given to you from above. Therefore he who delivered me to you has greater sin.”

¹¹พระเยซูตรัสตอบว่า "ท่านจะมีอำนาจเหนือเราไม่ได้ นอกจากจะประทานจากเบื้องบนให้แก่ท่าน เหตุฉะนั้นผู้ที่มอบเราไว้กับท่านจึงมีความผิดบาปมากกว่าท่าน"

¹²At this, Pilate was seeking to release him, but the Jews cried out, saying, “If you release this man, you aren’t Caesar’s friend! Everyone who makes himself a king speaks against Caesar!”

¹²ตั้งแต่นั้นไปปีลาตก็หาโอกาสที่จะปล่อยพระองค์ แต่พวกยิวร้องอึงว่า "ถ้าท่านปล่อยชายคนนี้ ท่านก็ไม่ใช่มิตรของซีซาร์ ทุกคนที่ตั้งตัวเป็นกษัตริย์ก็พูดต่อสู้ซีซาร์"

¹³When Pilate therefore heard these words, he brought Jesus out, and sat down on the judgment seat at a place called “The Pavement,” but in Hebrew, “Gabbatha.”

¹³เมื่อปีลาตได้ยินดังนั้น ท่านจึงพาพระเยซูออกมา แล้วนั่งบัลลังก์พิพากษา ณ ที่เรียกว่า ลานปูศิลา ภาษาฮีบรูเรียกว่า กับบาธา

¹⁴Now it was the Preparation Day of the Passover, at about the sixth hour. “the sixth hour” would have been 6:00 AM according to the Roman timekeeping system, or noon for the Jewish timekeeping system in use, then. He said to the Jews, “Behold, your King!”

¹⁴วันนั้นเป็นวันเตรียมปัสกา เวลาประมาณเที่ยง ท่านพูดกับพวกยิวว่า "ดูเถิด นี่คือกษัตริย์ของท่านทั้งหลาย"

¹⁵They cried out, “Away with him! Away with him! Crucify him!” Pilate said to them, “Shall I crucify your King?” The chief priests answered, “We have no king but Caesar!”

¹⁵แต่เขาทั้งหลายร้องอึงว่า "เอาเขาไปเสีย เอาเขาไปเสีย ตรึงเขาเสียที่กางเขน" ปีลาตพูดกับเขาว่า "ท่านจะให้เราตรึงกษัตริย์ของท่านทั้งหลายที่กางเขนหรือ" พวกปุโรหิตใหญ่ตอบว่า "เว้นแต่ซีซาร์แล้ว เราไม่มีกษัตริย์"

¹⁶So then he delivered him to them to be crucified. So they took Jesus and led him away.

¹⁶แล้วปีลาตจึงมอบพระองค์ให้เขาพาไปตรึงที่กางเขน และเขาพาพระเยซูไป

¹⁷He went out, bearing his cross, to the place called “The Place of a Skull,” which is called in Hebrew, “Golgotha,”

¹⁷และพระองค์ทรงแบกกางเขนของพระองค์ไปยังที่ซึ่งเรียกว่า กะโหลกศีรษะ ภาษาฮีบรูเรียกว่า กลโกธา

¹⁸where they crucified him, and with him two others, on either side one, and Jesus in the middle.

¹⁸ณ ที่นั้น เขาตรึงพระองค์ไว้ที่กางเขนกับคนอีกสองคน คนละข้างและพระเยซูทรงอยู่กลาง

¹⁹Pilate wrote a title also, and put it on the cross. There was written, “JESUS OF NAZARETH, THE KING OF THE JEWS.”

¹⁹ปีลาตให้เขียนคำประจานติดไว้บนกางเขน และคำประจานนั้นว่า "เยซูชาวนาซาเร็ธ กษัตริย์ของพวกยิว"

²⁰Therefore many of the Jews read this title, for the place where Jesus was crucified was near the city; and it was written in Hebrew, in Latin, and in Greek.

²⁰พวกยิวเป็นอันมากจึงได้อ่านคำประจานนี้ เพราะที่ซึ่งเขาตรึงพระเยซูนั้นอยู่ใกล้กับกรุง และคำนั้นเขียนไว้เป็นภาษาฮีบรู ภาษากรีก และภาษาลาติน

²¹The chief priests of the Jews therefore said to Pilate, “Don’t write, ‘The King of the Jews,’ but, ‘he said, I am King of the Jews.’”

²¹ฉะนั้นพวกปุโรหิตใหญ่ของพวกยิวจึงเรียนปีลาตว่า "ขออย่าเขียนว่า `กษัตริย์ของพวกยิว' แต่ขอเขียนว่า `คนนี้บอกว่า เราเป็นกษัตริย์ของพวกยิว'"

²²Pilate answered, “What I have written, I have written.”

²²ปีลาตตอบว่า "สิ่งใดที่เราเขียนแล้วก็แล้วไป"

²³Then the soldiers, when they had crucified Jesus, took his garments and made four parts, to every soldier a part; and also the coat. Now the coat was without seam, woven from the top throughout.

²³ครั้นพวกทหารตรึงพระเยซูไว้ที่กางเขนแล้ว เขาทั้งหลายก็เอาฉลองพระองค์แบ่งออกเป็นสี่ส่วนให้ทหารทุกคนคนละส่วน และเอาฉลองพระองค์ชั้นในด้วย ฉลองพระองค์ชั้นในนั้นไม่มีตะเข็บ ทอตั้งแต่บนตลอดล่าง

²⁴Then they said to one another, “Let’s not tear it, but cast lots for it to decide whose it will be,” that the Scripture might be fulfilled, which says, “They parted my garments among them. For my cloak they cast lots.” Psalm 22:18 Therefore the soldiers did these things.

²⁴เหตุฉะนั้นเขาจึงพูดกันว่า "เราอย่าฉีกแบ่งกันเลย แต่ให้เราจับสลากกันจะได้รู้ว่าใครจะได้" ทั้งนี้เพื่อพระคัมภีร์จะสำเร็จที่ว่า `เสื้อผ้าของข้าพระองค์ เขาแบ่งปันกัน ส่วนเสื้อของข้าพระองค์นั้น เขาก็จับสลากกัน' พวกทหารจึงได้กระทำดังนี้

²⁵But there were standing by the cross of Jesus his mother, and his mother’s sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene.

²⁵ผู้ที่ยืนอยู่ข้างกางเขนของพระเยซูนั้น มีมารดาของพระองค์กับน้าสาวของพระองค์ มารีย์ภรรยาของเคลโอปัส และมารีย์ชาวมักดาลา

²⁶Therefore when Jesus saw his mother, and the disciple whom he loved standing there, he said to his mother, “Woman, behold your son!”

²⁶ฉะนั้นเมื่อพระเยซูทอดพระเนตรเห็นมารดาของพระองค์ และสาวกคนที่พระองค์ทรงรักยืนอยู่ใกล้ พระองค์ตรัสกับมารดาของพระองค์ว่า "หญิงเอ๋ย จงดูบุตรของท่านเถิด"

²⁷Then he said to the disciple, “Behold, your mother!” From that hour, the disciple took her to his own home.

²⁷แล้วพระองค์ตรัสกับสาวกคนนั้นว่า "จงดูมารดาของท่านเถิด" และตั้งแต่เวลานั้นมา สาวกคนนั้นก็รับนางมาอยู่ในบ้านของตน

²⁸After this, Jesus, seeing NU, TR read “knowing” instead of “seeing” that all things were now finished, that the Scripture might be fulfilled, said, “I am thirsty.”

²⁸หลังจากนั้นพระเยซูทรงทราบว่า ทุกสิ่งสำเร็จแล้ว เพื่อพระคัมภีร์จะสำเร็จจึงตรัสว่า "เรากระหายน้ำ"

²⁹Now a vessel full of vinegar was set there; so they put a sponge full of the vinegar on hyssop, and held it at his mouth.

²⁹มีภาชนะใส่น้ำองุ่นเปรี้ยววางอยู่ที่นั่น เขาจึงเอาฟองน้ำ ชุบน้ำองุ่นเปรี้ยวใส่ปลายไม้หุสบชูขึ้นให้ถึงพระโอษฐ์ของพระองค์

³⁰When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, “It is finished.” He bowed his head, and gave up his spirit.

³⁰เมื่อพระเยซูจึงทรงรับน้ำองุ่นเปรี้ยวแล้ว พระองค์ตรัสว่า "สำเร็จแล้ว" และทรงก้มพระเศียรลงปล่อยพระวิญญาณจิตให้ออกไป

³¹Therefore the Jews, because it was the Preparation Day, so that the bodies wouldn’t remain on the cross on the Sabbath (for that Sabbath was a special one), asked of Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away.

³¹เพราะวันนั้นเป็นวันเตรียม พวกยิวจึงขอให้ปีลาตทุบขาของผู้ที่ถูกตรึงให้หัก และให้เอาศพไปเสีย เพื่อไม่ให้ศพค้างอยู่ที่กางเขนในวันสะบาโต (เพราะวันสะบาโตนั้นเป็นวันใหญ่)

³²Therefore the soldiers came, and broke the legs of the first, and of the other who was crucified with him;

³²ดังนั้นพวกทหารจึงมาทุบขาของคนที่หนึ่ง และขาของอีกคนหนึ่งที่ถูกตรึงอยู่กับพระองค์

³³but when they came to Jesus, and saw that he was already dead, they didn’t break his legs.

³³แต่เมื่อเขามาถึงพระเยซูและเห็นว่าพระองค์สิ้นพระชนม์แล้ว เขาจึงมิได้ทุบขาของพระองค์

³⁴However one of the soldiers pierced his side with a spear, and immediately blood and water came out.

³⁴แต่ทหารคนหนึ่งเอาทวนแทงที่สีข้างของพระองค์ และโลหิตกับน้ำก็ไหลออกมาทันที

³⁵He who has seen has testified, and his testimony is true. He knows that he tells the truth, that you may believe.

³⁵คนนั้นที่เห็นก็เป็นพยาน และคำพยานของเขาก็เป็นความจริง และเขาก็รู้ว่าเขาพูดความจริง เพื่อท่านทั้งหลายจะได้เชื่อ

³⁶For these things happened, that the Scripture might be fulfilled, “A bone of him will not be broken.” Exodus 12:46; Numbers 9:12; Psalm 34:20

³⁶เพราะสิ่งเหล่านี้เกิดขึ้นเพื่อข้อพระคัมภีร์จะสำเร็จซึ่งว่า `พระอัฐิของพระองค์จะไม่หักสักซี่เดียว'

³⁷Again another Scripture says, “They will look on him whom they pierced.” Zechariah 12:10

³⁷และมีข้อพระคัมภีร์อีกข้อหนึ่งว่า `เขาทั้งหลายจะมองดูพระองค์ผู้ซึ่งเขาเองได้แทง'

³⁸After these things, Joseph of Arimathaea, being a disciple of Jesus, but secretly for fear of the Jews, asked of Pilate that he might take away Jesus’ body. Pilate gave him permission. He came therefore and took away his body.

³⁸หลังจากนี้โยเซฟชาวบ้านอาริมาเธีย ซึ่งเป็นสาวกลับๆของพระเยซูเพราะกลัวพวกยิว ก็ได้ขอพระศพพระเยซูจากปีลาต และปีลาตก็ยอมให้ โยเซฟจึงมาอัญเชิญพระศพพระเยซูไป

³⁹Nicodemus, who at first came to Jesus by night, also came bringing a mixture of myrrh and aloes, about a hundred Roman pounds. 100 Roman pounds of 12 ounces each, or about 72 pounds, or 33 Kilograms.

³⁹ฝ่ายนิโคเดมัส ซึ่งตอนแรกไปหาพระเยซูในเวลากลางคืนนั้นก็มาด้วย เขานำเครื่องหอมผสม คือมดยอบกับอาโลเอหนักประมาณสามสิบกว่ากิโลกรัมมาด้วย

⁴⁰So they took Jesus’ body, and bound it in linen cloths with the spices, as the custom of the Jews is to bury.

⁴⁰พวกเขาอัญเชิญพระศพพระเยซู และเอาผ้าป่านกับเครื่องหอมพันพระศพนั้นตามธรรมเนียมฝังศพของพวกยิว

⁴¹Now in the place where he was crucified there was a garden. In the garden was a new tomb in which no man had ever yet been laid.

⁴¹ในสถานที่พระองค์ถูกตรึงที่กางเขนนั้นมีสวนแห่งหนึ่ง ในสวนนั้นมีอุโมงค์ฝังศพใหม่ที่ยังไม่ได้ฝังศพผู้ใดเลย

⁴²Then because of the Jews’ Preparation Day (for the tomb was near at hand) they laid Jesus there.

⁴²เพราะวันนั้นเป็นวันเตรียมของพวกยิว และเพราะอุโมงค์นั้นอยู่ใกล้ เขาจึงบรรจุพระศพพระเยซูไว้ที่นั่น
